Your party of intrepid adventurers is no stranger to taking on missions that the village guard simply isn't equipped to. So it's no surprise that when a demon attacks a nearby farmer, you and your group of arcanists, fencers, healers, and archers are tasked with killing her.
But when a rival adventuring party gets in the way, and the demon proves more powerful than any of you had thought, things get even more complicated. What's more, you soon discover that this demon wants to take you as her human vessel. Will you defeat her before she takes control of your soul?
The Mage's Adventures is a thrilling 115,000 word interactive fantasy novel by Samuel Young, where your choices control the story. The tale is a companion novel to The Magician's Burden, set in an alternate time-line. It's text-based, with occasional vivid illustrations, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Oh, and there's a sixth and secret member of your party as well: the demon living in your head.
• Play as male, female, or non-binary; romance males, females, both, or no one at all.
• Romance a cold, aloof arcanist; a competitive, outgoing fencer; a shy, sweet healer; or a fun-loving, charismatic archer.
• Wield fantastic spells: turn invisible, throw fireballs, heal wounds, and much more.
• Make a deal with your demon and use his powerful magic, or resist the temptation altogether.
The demon in your head says this is a bad idea. He's not wrong.

"Turn invisible, throw fireballs, heal wounds and much more" Those are pretty much the only options, there's not much more. I do not enjoy lies-

I actually purchased this book. This is my favorite book by this author yet. I like how demons and possession are portrayed in-game. The characters all have distinct personalities and are memorable. The stats worked perfectly and the surprise ending with a huge twist at the end really set the author up for a sequel. In fact it is such a cliffhanger that this story NEEDS a sequel.

Hosted Games not Interactive Books, if you give the player no customization in terms of their own embodiment of self in the story, how can you get invested enough to make it past the linear railroading, as well as blatantly forced character progression, it's as if someone tried to turn their personal novel into an interactive game, and failed at the first step. AKA The player.

  4. NaNa IS BAE-avatar

    NaNa IS BAE

The Prologue starts of with a very interesting concept, and well crafted writing to create a vivid imagination. The story itself afterwards feels more like a filler epsiode; non of the ROs are very intriguing or possess a really attractive personality, if I had to choose I would say Mabelin was prbs the least generic. The story isn't bad, the writing just plays it too safe like ' StarWars The Last Skywalker. ' Overall it was more of a time pass than anything else.

The story itself was rather short, especially for a paid game, and the ending was awful. A complete retcon of the story so far, it would have been better if everything had been a dream. I honestly wish I'd never wasted my money on it, I'd get a refund if possible. Save your money, find a better game.

Very witty and well written. It was pretty short, unfortunately. The action sequences were fun, but there was so much monotony between plot points that it felt a bit boring at times. The best part of this story was the ending, but the twist hits you so hard and fast and then it's over. It feels more like a slap in the face than a cliff hanger and left me feeling unsatisfied rather than excited for a sequel. Tdlr: A fun, witty adventure, but leaves you hanging on the climax.

  7. Richard Casterly-avatar

Looking okay so far but it seems the physical descriptions for potential female love interests are quite MEH. Ya'll know why. 😉 Perhaps we can have the option to randomize physical descriptions for love interests next time? Or perhaps we can just leave as much details to the imagination for them as possible? But for now no romance run, it is then.

This game actually made me ill. The finale is too shocking, too sad. But it's totally EPIC and worth it. Don't let it get spoiled, you must play this yourself. I can't wait for more from this author. Great story.

Ok i tend to complain about interactive stories a lot but this time i wont. This is by far the best i played and its probably better or if not rivals zombie exodus. Which used to be my favourite interactive story but this is currently taking the spotlight.

Congratulations. You completely and utterly surprised me. But to be completely honest I would've liked to be able to tell that old wizard to go f*** himself. Nonetheless! Great game,I adore the ending.
