Christmas present. took absolutely ages to set up. (I have multiple smart/wifi/BT accessories, so I am no novice). connects 5% of the time and requires manual intervention. so far the max range is 4 metres. unfortunately what is a great idea is a piece of junk.

I bought this item at a great closeout price from a local dept. store, so I though I'd give it a try. Instructions for establishing communication between the sensor and phone are not very clear. After some trial and error, I was finally able to establish a connection. Instructions also state that a notification will appear if sensor is beyond range of signal. I have not found this to be the case. The app will simply display 'updating' until the phone is brought within range of the signal. The app itself seems well designed with lots of features. The only complaint is that the date is in the European format and cannot be changed. All in all a decent item for the price I paid.

I sent this to their support email on 4/7/16 and never hear back: I just got my unit today from Amazon. Installed batteries, downloaded the app from Google Play, and hit the CONNECT button as instructed. A popup did come up on my phone with the sensor number. I hit OK and the app keeps searching - never finding the remote pool thermometer (RPT). I have them side by side so it's not out of range. I reset the unit and tried the connect again - sensor number pops up but the phone never pairs - keeps searching. I even tried rebooting the phone - still won't pair. I know the bluetooth works - I have a Jabra speakerphone I use regularly in my truck via bluetooth - no problems. And, the phone sees the RPT when I hit CONNECT as the correct sensor number appears. It just won't sync. I have a Google Nexus 5 running Android version 6.0.1.

Pure junk app for a piece of junk device. Extremely slow connection to Bluetooth with a range of maybe 20 feet. No background presence so anytime you exit it needs to reestablish communication with the thermometer. No grafting capability.

Terrible, terrible, terrible app. The UI is cluttered with nonsense but more importantly, it takes forever to sync with the device and one time in three can't do it at all.
