Reviews From google play store

I bought my Pixel 3 for the camera, which has now been "simplified" so much that I can only pick from 2 "resolutions" and no control over my white balance...this is so frustrating. If you want to have a simplified version for users that are not into professional picture taking that's fine, but there needs to be a pro version or pro option in the current app for those of us that would like to have control over our settings.

Still not even opening to crash 99% of time. Not only do i effectively not have a camera any longer, it impacts mobile banking- check deposit, and every other app that uses camera. I can't get around it at all. Pixel 2XL. It's been MONTHS. Fully updated. I've tried to roll it back and nothing works. How is this a thing for a company like Google?? Running pixel into the ground really

Been getting the camera crash issue I've seen others have issues with. When I am able to get it to open and use the camera often times when switching modes it will then crash forcing me to reboot the phone and/or clear cache/storage to get it to work again. It makes the camera function of the phone unreliable at best. This has been an issue since I purchased the phone a month or so ago. I am using a Pixel 3.

I've had the Pixel 2 XL just about 2 years working great until the camera stopped working. The factory reset didn't restore the camera app. From the other reviews I've read I'm not the only one. Unable to update to Pixel 4 XL at the moment, I'm going to have to wait for an update or take it in to a repair shop. I'm relying on my kids iPhone 11 to take pictures when I really need to.

I think this is serious problem for develop to solve any problem in this camera. Seriusly,it's very important to improve the quality of gcam. Before that the camera can take shot rapidly and great result (i think) but now it can't. I don't know why it can happened. Please solve it. And auto focus can quickly than before,it must delay few second (slowly than before) and also the result photos have worst detail. I'm pixel user from pixel 1 and i think this is big problem you guys have to solve it

Removing the burst photo option from the camera to replace it with "easy-to-use" video capture (without the option to get the original function back), is infuriating and rubbish! I want my burst photo mode back! I want to be able to hold down the shutter button and take a ton of pictures, and select the ones I find the best! - (Pixel 2)

I have children and take so many pictures to capture fun moments. My phone updated without my permission. On October 31st my kids had their first school Halloween party and parade. My camera completely stopped working. I have tried many different things to fix this issue. Now today November 15th and still NO camera. No Mobile banking, no snap chat. I can not just get a new phone. Very disappointed with google. When I can get a new phone it will never be a Google again.

Don't know what's going on by my camera no longer works on any app. I can see from other recent reviews that I'm not the only one. Crashes seconds after opening. Screen is black. Had this Google pixle 2xl for two years. Best phone I ever had. But this is unacceptable. Needs fixed Immediately. So far, instagram, snapchat, Facebook messenger, the actual camera app itself, and any other app that uses the camera is useless. 1 star until this gets fixed!

Older version (prior to 7.2) was better for my Pixel 3. I can't get top shot to work reliably anymore and it was brilliant before. Now I just get low res 'videos' instead of a legit burst mode. Old UI was also way better with actual settings on screen. I was excited to install, but regret the 'upgrade'. Thinking of going back to the older version because this was a major disappointment. Makes me wish I bought another Huawei instead.

Camera is Inoperable. I've had my Pixel 2XL for over two years now and I've used to capture thousands of photos. Now, No matter which app I attempt to use, the screen is black. Facebook/messenger say that the camera has an error, Snapchat doesn't let me flip cameras, and this app automatically closes 1.5 seconds after I open it. I've tried everything from clearing caches, restarting the phone, and reinstalling the app. Nothing works. My daughter is due in February and I need my camera to work!!

My camara app is not working, it only opens for a second and ends up going back to the home screen not letting me use the app, and it mainly does it when I open it to use the rear camera, bit it works with the front Camara. I believe this is something that started happening with the last update. I need this to be fixed soon or else I will not be able to take pictures using my rear camera. Yes it's a pixel 2 phone Everyone should give all Google apps and devices bad reviews till we get this fixed

I rely on my phone for my job. In the past week my camera app has COMPLETELY stopped working. App crashes every time I open it. Snapchat crashed due to its reliance on the camera. Google. Fix this now. I've powered down, I've restarted, and I've cleared settings. Nothing works. Roll back your update because whatever you have created is not working right.

With the newest update, the developers have reduced the options in the camera even more to "streamline" or "optimize" the app. You now can't even choose the actual resolution size. In your effort to make the camera more simple, you're turning away more or the photographer users of the pixel who like more options and control. The lack of a manual mode was always a turn off but now this. The shutter is also on top of the words. Please stop reducing user control. advance or pro mode would be great.

Latest update limits video options. No more 720, 1080, and 4k. Now it's just a 4k toggle and damned if I know what the default is. Same with the resolution options for the photos which are now limited to high res or medium and no option to change resolution for front and back cameras. I got an Android due to allowing customization, but which junk like this I may as well got an iPhone!

Top shot is not a replacement for burst mode. Top shot is an absurdly low resolution of 1024x768. Please either max out the resolution or give us burst mode back. Also the latest update gave us the ability to create video recordings through long pressing the shutter button. Was it intentional that this be at the aburd resolution of 1024x768? At least give us 720p, I mean COME ON. Why would we want this absurdly low resolution? These are supposed to be the moments of our lives. I want the best possible resolution. This reminds me of taking video's with my flip phone... Guys this isn't ok.

Dumbed down for no reason. The utter lack of options/control is a big middle finger to us users who paid for a decent camera. The lastest update is a joke. No flash, motion, or HDR indicators? WHY? Just give me the option! It should be up to ME. What happened to the back camera wide angle option and indicator? What resolution and I recording in? Where is the long exposure setting? WHY IS THIS APP SO DUMBED DOWN? This phone was EXPENSIVE!

For all those who are facing camera app crash issue, please note that do not just wait for any software updates to fix this issue. I own a Pixel 2 XL and I had to get the camera sensor replaced in order for it to work. Do not rely on any updates because it won't get fixed. Google is completely ignoring this!!!

Camera app is always crashing. I used to be able to take beautiful pictures and now I can't even get the app to open. Disappointed that a phone I usually love has turned into a paperweight. All of the fixes that Google helped suggest allow me to take one or two pictures and then the app goes back to crashing.

Bought the phone and went to use the camera and it wont open. Randomly after restarting the phone, the camera will work sometimes then spontaneously will not respond the next time it is opened, or it will just flat out open to a black screen and cut out unexpectedly. I have updated the camera, deleted all apps and factory reset the device and it still isn't working. Either best buy sold me a broken phone or the app itself is the issue.

Used to work perfectly. Now I just get the black screen of death at least half the time. Have to wipe cache and restart phone to get camera to work, by which time the moment has usually passed. Switched to Pixel especially for the camera so really disappointed. My advice: don't switch to Pixel until they fix this awful, buggy app.

A big thank you to all of you who wrote critical reviews of the latest update to Google Camera app. Even after "chatting" with Google staff for one and a half hours, the only way I realized what had happened to my Pixle phone camera, was that the latest upddate had completely changed the way functions are accessed. Since learning where they are, I haven't used the camera much so I don't know if I will like it, I know that I (like many others) do not like the changes to ratio (options are now only "full" and wide") and resolution (now only "full" and "medium".

Camera no longer works with update, latest update has made the phone useless for you if are into photography. Even if you try to roll the software back to a previous version or reset you phone it still will not work.I tried to clear the cash files still the same problem. Google need to sort this out ,my phone is only 2 weeks old I am thinking of taking it back since it is not fit for purpose.

Crashes all the time. DO NOT BUY A PIXEL! Best camera ever?! Only when it actually works. No support for this at all. Others have the same issue. Not resolved after factory reset, running in safe mode, updating the OS and app, etc. Works for a bit after rebooting the phone. What's the point... About the app states "Never miss a moment with Google Camera". That is a lie. There has been many moments missed due to the camera crashing right when I'm trying to take a picture.

Today something occurred. In an instant I wanted to take burst shots of the scene. Not to my knowledge, the camera app was updated and burst shot was replaced for a pointless social media feature, where videos are recorded instead. This is a camera app. Not social media. I don't even see where burst shot can be enabled. So far it seems to be completely removed. This behavior has been standard in camera apps for the longest of time. Burst shot should be default and recording optional.

Two big problem recording videos: 1. If I record a video after 4 seconds, the app suddenly closes and reopens. This can lead to two things: either the video stops recording or the video keeps recording but my phone doesn't acknowledge that it's still recording and falls asleep. I can fix this my restarting but it's really annoying when I have to do this every time I want to record a video. 2. After 10 minutes of recording, my phone overheated in normal temperature conditions.

Can no longer specify photo resolution; most choose between high and "medium" quality, which didn't even change the resolution or file size of the last few photos I took so I'm not sure what that really does. Video recording keeps stuttering and crashing, especially in 4k. Otherwise it's been fine. Pixel 2.

This last 7.2 camera update is a downfall for pixel phones. I've got 3a XL and I was pretty content by the camera performance, untill now: Post processing takes more time, no option for manually configuring resolutions, in-app settings got harder to use as fast as before and few more complaints... Only improvement may be the astrophotography feature, but the leats important aswell. More of a let-down than an upgrade.

One of the things that I used to tell people was the low light performance of Google Camera, which was far better than any other camera app on my Pixel OG. It was, till v6.3. In v7.2, it increases sharpness of the photos, at the expense of introducing more noise to the dark areas of the photos. Also, Google still refuses to add Portrait Mode to the Pixel OG, when there are mods which have been doing it perfectly. Don't really understand why they refuse to do that when others have!

As it seems to be a common problem after reading the comments section, my camera has also stopped working upon the new update. It looks like google is currently not planning on fixing the issue (which makes sense as they're coming out with the 4 soon, so better business if everyone's pixel 2 stops working and they need a new phone) but is nonetheless deeply upsetting. Update: still no update and I've waited months. Will not be purchasing google again, as I got this phone for its camera.

(edit) It's now November 11 and not only have they not fixed the camera they took away the burst feature SMH. Google is a joke losing a customer today and looking at the reviews I'm not the only one. We all know why the camera doesn't work on Pixel 3 and below, a new "update" right before the Pixel 4 comes...coincidence? They clearly crashed it on purpose thinking people were going to buy another phone from them 🤣 and they don't even have the balls to admit it SMH, what scumbags. Avoid!

Lack of manual controls has given a poor experience in many situations. Many times auto focus is incorrect where I have to close and reopen app. I wish I could have manual control over ISO, Appature, and focus. With the latest update they remove the ability to select what image resolution you can use. There is now two options, max and minimum. The HDR, flash, timer, etc settings has been moved from the left to behind a slide in menu. This is such a move in the wrong direction. More steps.

I'm having the exact same issue I've been seeing others complain about. The camera crashes immediately when I try to open it, meaning I can't take a single photo. I've tried every troueshooting step and still nothing. This is also the SECOND time I've had this issue in the less than I year I've had this phone, last time I had to pay ubreakifix $150 to fix the problem only TWO MONTHS after getting the phone. Will never recommend anyone buy a pixel phone. Absolutely ridiculous.

Gone!! 16:9 back camera resolution/ratio option (Pixel 3 XL). Now only 4:3 available in full and medium res! Yet reviews are saying Pixel 4 camera now defaults to 16:9 for back camera! I don't want black end bars in my pictures when displayed in landscape on my TV or monitor! Can I roll back to the former Camera App? Also the close down of the new app 'swipe up' then tap close is too fiddly and slow. Some of the other improvements are good but without 16:9 is has to go I'm afraid. Sort it now

My camera crashed a couple months ago due to a software problem and I am still not able to access the camera. I can't take any pictures, my Snapchat, YouTube, and even my Chase Bank app won't work because of it. Highly frustrating and it seems like no one at Google is doing anything to correct this

4 of stars shy of 5 for not forcing higher brightness when the camera is in use. The adaptive brightness should be disabled, I can't stand brightness fluctuations when trying to capture an image, its distracting. For a good example here, think of the Google Pay app; it automatically increases brightness so that your cards can be read by the bar code scanner.

Please give me back white balance! White balance is completely gone! Given that the camera almost cools down the image on many occasions, color corrects badly and doesn't give warmer colors on occasions, it's extremely hard to take good pictures without it. Would be great if you can bring this back atleast as an overflow or optional menu like raw/jpeg controls. Until then this app is only 50% usable.

Black screen problem, like others. Camera is basically unusable and the support options like factory reset etc don't work. Edit Nov 13: optimistically downloaded the new update and now it seems worse. Before I could squeeze out a photo or two now and then, now it's straight to black screen every time. As others have noted this breaks any other app that needs the camera. Google has broken my camera for over a month and won't issue a refund. I won't be buying another pixel, ever.

Processing photos takes a lot longer since the update to version 7.2. There's also no longer the option of pressing a button for zooming in and out in order to go from about 2x-4x-6x, etc. There is now only the option to pinch to zoom. And it take longer to switch which between the HDR settings, flash and others, before you only had to press one button, now you have to swipe down first. Why downgrade an app and label it as an upgrade?

Camera app continually crashes. Have rebooted phone several times. Still crashed. Restarted using safe mode. Crashed, again. Cleared cache. Still crashed. Cleared storage. App crashed. Forced stop. Crashed again. Sent feedback to Google over and over again asking for help. No reply from Google. Sad. Uninstall.

This latest release removed the ability to customize the resolution of both cameras. Instead of setting by aspect ratio and megapixels, now there are only two options: "full" resolution, which provides exactly zero information about the MP and ratio; and "medium" resolution, again with no information about what the MP and ratio is but "uses less storage". I'm going to uninstall the app and sideload an older version of the app that has better customizability.

After the last update, I can't record videos with my Pixel 3 XL. I can start to record, but after 3 or 4 seconds, the app closes and reopens itself. Sometimes, the recording stops and I get a 3 second video. Other times, after the app reopens itself it continues filming. However I keep getting this screen flicker (like I'm closing and reopening the app) every few seconds until I stop the recording.

The flash is broken since the update, now whenever I take a picture of anything close, with the flash on, I get a bright white picture. (Pixel 2 user) and I preferred the icons always on the screen, the new drop down is another click every time I open the app just to check my settings, could this be an option? Custom HUD layout? Other than these 2 things which have only happened very recently, this app has been great, fast, reliable and quick to focus. Easily 5 *'s

Same problem as most other people, screen in black and camera does not work. Beyond frustrating. Spoke with Google and was offered a replacement but the process leaves me without a camera for 5-15 days which I cannot do because I'm a mom...and a human being living in 2019. This is infuriating. Never again will I own a Google phone.

App has crashed, and as the default camera app it prevents other apps from using the device camera as well. It opens for a few seconds, but never enables the view finder. Thought it was a hardware failure until I saw the other reviews. ------ Update Nov. 14: installed latest camera and security update on my pixel 2xl, still have a black screen when I open the camera. Camera will crash when attempting to load, and there's no work around as all other apps use this one for the camera!

For me it was the best camera app. It was... Because on latest version you deleted +/- buttons in zoom slider. On Pixel 3 there are two front cameras. Now with this non step zoom slider there od no easy option to change front one camera to second. The worst thing is that wide-angle lens currently is 1x then is couple of steps of fake zoom, then we have past step 1.4x and the same 1.4x for the first step of the standard lens. This have no sense and it's not a good change:/

I bought PIXEL 3aXL strictly for the CAMERA. LOVED IT... Then you took away my most favorite feature? Where I previously could CHOOSE RESOLUTION I needed for each shot, now I can't?! I call BS!!! HELL NO I WON'T BE UPGRADING! Pissed off enough that I'll be shopping Black Friday for the new TOP OF THE LINE iPhone. Done.

Incrementally and systematically removed most of the beneficial advanced features. Why even use it, if pretty much all of the user configuration has been abstracted away into oblivion. Initially, this was my sole camera app. If I wanted a user-friendly, dumbed-down version of the camera app, I'd use my iPhone. Mediocre at its best. 🤦🏽‍♂️ As one reviewer mentioned, for original features, turn off auto-updates in Play, and uninstall the camera app update.

Still no white balance control. I really thought Google would have been smart enough to fix that in 7.2. Obviously I have, once again, overestimated the level of collective thinking power @ Google. This award winning camera is complete trash now. All of the pictures are overly yellow and there's literally nothing you can do except edit them after the fact. Why??? What's so hard about including controls to get them right to begin with? The auto white balance is NOT sufficient. It DOESN'T WORK.

Pixel did a system update, now this camera trys to record a one second video half of the time I snap a photo. It is not anything I am doing it is a bug! I also don't like what was done to the settings. Otherwise it is a very good camera, but this update is a game changer...

The image is completely white if I use flash with the latest update. Sometimes, only part of the image is gone. Latest update crashed the flash timing. Also the controls for toggling HDR, Flash, Timer etc are now difficult to access. Previously with single touch, it could be toggled. I'm using pixel 2xl

I've scrolled the review page and seen customers complaining about the camera (which I also have a problem with) since MAY 2019 and is so many more I just stopped there. It's a crying shame that GOOGLE has not responded or try to fix the problem I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PIXEL and I'm quite sure you've lost so many customers. A little curtiousy on your behalf would have been much appreciated.

For the last couple weeks the camera on my pixel2xl has been unusable. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling updates but it just crashes every time I open it. I thought something might be wrong with my phone, but it seems to be effecting many others as well. Is anyone working on this issue?

TL;DR - FIX THE FLASH!! The update in November 2018 ruined how the flash works, and unfortunately the latest update is STILL doing the same thing. The light stays on and washes out whatever you're trying to photograph - and I know it's not a hardware issue on my Pixel XL as my brand new Pixel 3a XL is also affected. C'mon... Need a fix by now. Willing to update review if a proper fix for this issue is rolled out.

More and more gimmicks are added with each release, at the expense of power user features, like manual white balance. For god's sake, how hard is it to leave all manual controls in the app and just hide them with an option or something? A lot of people buy these phones for their camera, but you keep making the software simpler and dumber. Typically Google.

Focus Stopped Working Ever since the latest Android 10 update, my phone cant focus on outer cam photos. The selfie cam is fine but as i use this as my main pgoto taker i dont care for selfies. Every photo is blurry from before taking it. Tapping does not focus at all. What was once a great camera is barely usable. Updating this app has not fixed it. Im highly disappointed as i have not had the phone a full year. L

The camera itself works fine, but it's infuriating that white balance control has been eliminated. It was bad on my Pixel XL, and it's still not great on my new Pixel 4 XL. What good is a camera that doesn't accurately represent color? People wonder why I generally stick to an actual camera...

I liked when the burst mode was working. I would take bursts of the kids on my golf team, and show them how their swing looked in each frame. Now that feature is gone and I am unhappy. I'm also just pleased that the slow motion is not as slow as it used to be.

I brought a Google pixel 3 last year because its camera. No even for one year, it started to crashing. I tried to every possible thing that they recommended (update the system, clear the cache, restart the phone multiple times, delete the app and update the app...), And NO!! It still crashes. When opening the app Black screen sometimes, or switch from camera to Video black screen some times... restart the app and take pictures, then the pictures disappeared from album.

After update still HDR autosave still isn't fixed :( Why I put flash in camera settings and next time when come - it's still available, but if I put HDR+ then next time when I come it's HDR auto? :( Common, waiting for this fix for a year or more. I just wanna have the same camera settings I left last time, speed is very essential to me while traveling, especially in the cold with gloves. Now should tap 2 times to change to HDR+ (before was at least 1).

Another updated, another disappointment, this camera is getting to be so average, I regret purchasing the pixel 3 just months, brought it for the camera & it was one of the best, but now in less than 2 months & 2 updated later, they managed to screw up a good thing, it's more of a downgraded. They took away the burst mode and I still haven't figured out how to use the top shot feature. it's not that hard to put in a user icon for the topshot & astrophotography mode & Burst mode back pls.

What have you done with the new version(7.2) ?? It looks like a gimmick. The shutter speed is slow and picture quality is terrible now. Please fix it ASAP. Pixel 3XL No manual controls. No timelapse. No interesting features. Why did I buy Pixel phone...

Pixel 3 here, phone was working fine until the most recent update happened where the camera app crashes and will not let me use the back facing camera. My only option to take pictures would be to open Snapchat and use the front facing camera, but it doesn't have the same quality. Flashlight doesn't work either. Similar to problem with pixel 4 and it's camera app crashing after newest update. Would like to change the rating back if the problem happens to get fixed

Love the app, especially the night sight. Could do with more control over the camera (aperture, iso, etc.), none the less it's a great camera app. Just hoping the new camera update will come soon to the pixel 3a, excited for the astrophotography feature Edit Just downloaded the newest update to my 3a and quite impressed by the astrophotography

I have a Pixel 2 and ever since the last update, the camera crashes. It gets an occasional glimmer of hope where it will fire up and work, but it's 1 out of like 100 tries if that... Edit: I found that I can open it in selfie mode, but as soon as I switch to the front facing camera it crashes...

My camera worked perfectly before the 7.2 update. Now my camera has a black screen and closes after a few seconds. I have tried everything short of a factory reset to fix the issue. I wish there was a way to roll back to the previous update. I'm using a pixel 3 xl

No control over white balance. I now have to explain the colors to people because they are so far off and often over saturated. With no control over these settings and with such poor automated controls I am better off not taking a photo and just finding references online to send out instead.

New burst shots now make video instead. Why? The exported frame is just 1024x768. It used to be 4032x3024. Why? Why? And smart burst was replaced by "Top shot" which, if you decide to pick another frame from the captures, it too export at only 1024x768. No Google, please no!

I'm highly disappointed with the change in settings that have dumbed everything down and removed user choices. I used to be able to choose the resolution with all the information being displayed on what my options were. Now it high or low resolution. Give me my options back.

Google assistant responds to ok Google take a photo, but then doesn't count down and take the photo. It used to do this, now it doesn't. You updated Google and it caused all these problems. Please fix this. Android 10 is said to be able to do this action.

Dear Google camera team, the camera is really awesome. Thank you so much. However if we could have setting option to turn off mirror image in selfie mode that would be great. By the way, If we could set different resolution quality in long press button recording. That will make Google camera amazing. Thank you :) cheers :D

I first had a great experience and I really like the camera however after 5 months the camera has now been going to black screen everytime I want to use it. I have gone into safe mode and cleared cache but nothing has helped. Would love some guidance as I just want to use my camera

Updated version is worse than before; less control and need to click more buttons before accessing HDR/flash/focusing (the focus originally sucks in dim light already). Still no control over ISO and shutter speed (when would Google listen and not treat users as iPhone babies? With iPhone 11 there is much fewer reason to stay with Android). I hope Google would allow greater control over our photos until it's too late.

Crashes constantly pixel 2. The camera had a vulnerability where hackers can take control of the camera unknowingly. Ever since Google "fixed"this issue my camera has been broken and unreliable. Look up the vulnerability. My phone is trash now without a camera. This is horrible they need a fox

A decent camera app with a nice interface. However, a recent update removed the ability to use 10x zoom, limiting to 7x. This is very annoying. There is also a long delay when taking a video, making it hard to track moving objects.

Took away the features to set camera resolution to how you want it, same with Video. So now if I don't want super high res photos I have no choice same with 4k video you only get 2 options. I use to be able to pick between 2mps up to 12mps, and from 480p to 4k 30fps or 4k standard. It also took other features away from the camera on the pixel 2xl. This is why I'm thinking of going back to Samsung they have better camera options.

Stopped working randomly today on my Pixel 4 XL. App won't open. This bug also breaks all other camera services, like face unlock. I have done everything from safe mode to a factory reset. The camera app will not function. Other 3rd party camera apps seem to work but they take terrible pictures.

Just like everyone else camera front and back no longer work and it's definitely not hardware related. Started happening after the update, I need the camera for work. The fact that they haven't done anything after a couple of months almost is pathetic.

Received an auto update a few weeks ago and camera wont even open now, instantly crashes. Completely useless. Have received a dozen updates since and none have worked or fixed problem. The camera is one of the reasons i bought the Pixel 2, but i will never buy a Google phone again. Completely unacceptable

Hi, after the Android 10 update the camera started to show photos in lower quality. The quality of photos taken still remains high, but the preview before taking them is a bit pixelated/weirdly sharp. Pretty please fix this problem, otherwise I cannot give you five stars. Thank you.

It would be a great camera app, if you could modify the aperture, ISO and shutter speed settings while taking the photo. The camera I had on my LGG6 is far superior than the Pixel 3XL, which is a disappointment, because I was told the Google Pixel was better.

Since the recent system update the camera app will crash upon trying to open the app. So far no fix has been provided. Looks like many others are having the same problem in the last few days. It's hard to write a review on an app that doesn't work.

This app has been fundamentally broken for over two weeks now for my pixel XL, with the camera app crashing on startup. Multiple people have reports this and I've submitted crash reports but no action so far. This doesn't make me feel confident to upgrade to the next pixel phone

Definitely not as good as the previous version... I prefer to take photos without HDR, but the flash is uncontrollable and keeps whiting out photos! Plus the front camera seems to be softer, and accessing the camera controls just got a lot more awkward.

turning on override force-dark from developers options effect UI elements of this like selfie illumination and fast scrolling on camera options window flashes UI in white. after turning off override force-dark option or dark mode selfie illumination show properly bright color tone flash on screen. please allow us to turn off shutter sound in India every other brand/OEM don't restrict us. these type of law exist at japan only not in India.

My son and I have the same phone... Google Pixel 2. His camera works fine. Two months ago my camera started crashing immediately after opening. Will not be purchasing another Google phone since they can't be bothered to fix such major issues that so many people are having.

I bought my pixel 2 for it's amazing camera BUT... You took out white balance! Why??? Now my sunsets are smurf blue. Bring back manual control. I get it, your new camera can do it themselves but I take my photos how I want them, now how your software wants them. Also crashes, so double suckage.

Last update made the video laggy. I tried to shoot a 5 second clip, both recording and playback, video was dragging and has stutter. Adding stability after doesn't help as it doesn't save. Uninstalling the update and returning to the default version made it better.

The camera crashes every time I try to open the app. For any third party apps that use the camera suffers from the same issue. I do not want to have to pay for another phone just so my camera doesn't crash. Google needs to fix this issue ASAP.

The selfie camera stopped working MONTHS ago, and now the entire app won't open. At all. I've restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, nothing. I bought the Google pixel FOR it's camera, and now this. Total garbage. Would not recommend.

Actually even I used to have the application closing when opened and this issue was more occuring after updating to Android 10 but when I sent my device to service they repaired it by replacing camera module and after the update to camera application to November one then everything works fine now!! Thanks to B2X Service team and support team of Google.

Improvements for 16:9 mode, finally that nasty greyed area is gone and I can see what's in that part of the picture. Settings have moved, some slower to access, some quicker to access. Never had burst mode on 3a but surely motion is the same thing? Overall probably a usability improvement once adapted to changes.

The best camera app in Google Play Store. This app is reliable and feature full: panorama, photo sphere, slow motion, time lapse, night sight, portrait, and you can turn your pictures into animated fun with playground. I use Google Lens every day on job site blueprints. This app has the best computational photography on the market

I normally love the camera, but since the latest update I haven't been able to change the flash settings and now my flash is permanently on. Please tell me how to fix this or just fix whatever is causing the flash settings to disappear.

When we are buying such an expensive phone just for camera, we must get something extra...some mode is a least users should have control over exposure...please please give is pro mode, at meast start by giving control over exposure...keeping one star for that day..thanks :)

Causing my phone to get stuck in the boot loop after most recent update. I bought the pixel for rhe camera, but look like they are pulling an apple and forcing you to upgrade the device; they'll just screw up all the older devices "on accident". Been loyal to pixel since the first day the first pixel came out, now starting to look elsewhere

Google, where has my screen gone? Before 7.2 the camera used the full screen of my Pixel 3XL when set to 16:9. Now it's been reduced to using less than two thirds with rounded corners? Why? Why do I need an emulated viewport of the Pixel 4? This was either a oversight or a decision made to totally negate the full screen experience of the 3XL. Very disappointed with what was an excellent camera UX.

Camera hasn't worked consistently in almost 3 weeks. I've done of trouble shooting, and nothing works. From reading the other reviews, it appears to be a common issue among Pixel 2 phones. This is just unacceptable 😠😡

this is for the latest version. where did white balance go? would like to see more options in the camera... not less 😟. Google camera doesn't always get white balance correct. It should have some way of correcting it if it's incorrect, maybe as a edit in Google photos.

Giving a 5 star on the night sight setting alone. Went Halloween trick n treating, & WOW!!! Just Fantastic. First time using it & from not knowing what to expect, or really not knowing how to use it... I'm just taken by it. My validation for making the jump to buying the P4, has been solidified. Thank You Google.

Good camera app but why make turning on and off the flash so far out of the way. Used to be right on the main screen. Now it's a swipe down, scroll up, select flash option, and close menu just to take a photo with/without flash
