Unfortunately, the other reviews are true. The grill is fantastic, but the app is trash. If I bounce out of the app to do something else, I have to close the app and relaunch in order to see what the grill is doing. It will only give me real time info if I leave the app on my screen. It also won't keep my feed rate setting when I leave the settings screen. Please fix the app and make it as good as the hardware.

This app is beyond frustrating at this point. Recteq has had issues with this app since launch, and it continues to have issues. My alarms work about half the time. Now the feed rate will not save after I change it. Also, where's this new version that launched to apple? Still no android support? It's a great grill, but it's 2021 these bugs on the app should be fixed by now.

The grill is great but the app is useless which kind of defeats the point of owning the grill. I bought it so I don't have to baby sit my cook. Because the app is unreliable and in some cases flat out dosent work I end up back and forth keep an eye on things. If it's not fixed I'll likely sell it and try something else.

This app is sadly as bad as everyone says it is. You would think after dropping $1600 on the RT-1250, that the app would say least be reliable. Recteq needs to seriously invest some time and money into making it at least work or function better. If I had known the app was this bad, I would have looked closer at the Yoder I was thinking about. I do love the RT-1250, but when the app doesn't even show the grill in the list of supported grills when setting it up, you know something has gone wrong.

This app USED to work fine until the most recent update. Now, like many others complain about, I have to log out and log back in to get an accurate reading on internal temp of food and actual reading of smoker. The app is NOT a reflection on company or smoker, but it is an extension and needs to be looked at ASAP. It carries your name. FIX IT! PLEASE!!!

Bought the "top of the line 1250" and doesn't support 5gh wifi like it supposed too. I can't count how many times I've tried to reconnect the app to the grill,and still not have it work or be able to control my grill from my phone. A room full of paint huffing monkeys could have made a better app

Considering how expensive my grill was, I expected a first class app but that's just not the case as once your screen is off for more than a minute or so you have to close the app & restart it in order to update food Temps when using a probe. Also, sometimes the app is very glitchy, not wanting to open or tapping an icon & nothing happens. The grill is amazing though, keeps temp perfect & uses less pellets than my smaller grill. Shame the app isn't so hot.

The app used to work great, now not so much. Back in December 2020, when I got my RecTeq, the app functioned as it is supposed to. The temp. on the screen would adjust to grill with out having to restart the app. The probe readings would display as soon as they were plugged in to the grill. Now I have to close the app and restart it every time I need to get the current prob and ambient temps. Once the app loads it freezes and the temps no longer update/adjust until I restart the app.

This app is terrible. I don't understand why they put so much effort into producing a great smoker and then put almost no effort into the app. I used to think the app is "ok", but now it doesn't even work. Every time I open it, I get a network error and it takes forever to load. Why would I bother using this if it takes several minutes from the time I open it until I can finally see and adjust the grill? Rectq, please fix this app so I can control my grill as you promised!

I love my recteq.....that being said, I don't love the app for my recteq. It's not user friendly, not a great interface, freezes fairly frequently requiring a hard restart. When I try to use the app functions and operate the recteq from the app, it often doesn't register my input to adjust temps. I'm told there's a new update coming out for the Android app. It's been a while and it's a bit overdue... But I do love my Recteq.
