Otherwise the app is ok. Actually has improved a lot during the past year, BUT.... Why on earth does the app force German UI for me!!!! Yes, I live in Germany but I would love to have the UI in English as German is my Nth language and extremely hard to use. In today's world it is so easy to make sure the UI acts according to the main settings of the device and that's what I would expect here as well. After all there are millions of foreigners in Germany actually. Same applies to the subtitles..


Great selection but wished they improved the user experience. For example, whenever you're scrolling through options, if you select a movie or series for more info and then you go back it automatically takes you all the way to the beginning rather than where you left off. So then you need to quickly scroll back to that spot which is annoying. The search engine could also have more built in filters. There are practically none.


I used to LOVE this app. It worked reliably without problems, even though the search functionality has never been great. Now I can barely ever use it on my phone, while I can watch every other video app (Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, HBO, Starz, etc) Prime will not play ANY video most days...yet occasionally will function. There is no telling if/when it will work, it has become impossible to use and I am beyond frustrated! I gave it 2 stars because it works just fine on my Roku, just not on my phone.


I've been so pleased with all the movies and original shows, there's a great variety to choose from. The format is simple and easy to use, which makes it better for seniors,too. Just one more thing I would like to add and tht is that if you make a mistake, with a purchase, it's corrected immediately. You like Amazon shopping...you'll love their video site!


I like the app, but having to purchase things like Nick Hits and such really annoy me. Also, I hate how ads play sometimes at the beginning of an episode. Yeah you can skip them, but why have them? I'm already paying for the service. This is just the app you get when netflix, hulu, and crunchyroll dont have the show you want to watch.


I have mixed feelings about this app and service. The ui is generally good but has some stupid annoyances that grate after a while such as the shows jumping to the next episode if you pause the show 2 minutes to the end (to do something) so you have to start it all over again to wind it to the correct spot or you could have missed a vital part of the show. Other annoyances such as having to put on subtitles for every individual show or movie instead of keeping it on or off by default. 3 stars.


Play/pause button often stops working. The only way to get it to play again after the button refuses to work is to minimise the show (top left white down arrow) then press on the narrow horizontal strip for that show at the bottom of the app. I've reported this bug but get typical troubleshooting responses that do not solve it. There's a bug in the app, Amazon, and it needs fixing! It would also be nice to have a 30 sec forward button instead of 10 sec. A "skip" button like Netflix would great


The app is not very well designed to say the least. It keeps forgetting where I left off and starts from the seasons beginning again and again. So I have to go to the show and choose the episode myself. The app doesn't have a list of things I'm currently watching. Everything is on a single list called my list. Also I can't download more than 6-7 episodes and whenever I sign out, it automatically deletes all the downloads. I don't understand what kind of a joke is this.


Amazing ^^ Aside from it's very cheap compared to the other streaming platforms it's amazing ^^ You have a variety of films and TV-Shows. It works very well on my phone, with no problems. I also like it that you can watch the shows in their original version (so, there are different languages). Absolutely satisfied :D


Prime video, as a service not just the app, needs way less ads. Boot up the app, an ad. Start a move, ad. Start a new episode, ad just ads all over the place, and this isn't some Hulu situation where they have Hulu lite where you get all the ads, this is just Amazon decided to make everyone watch ads for their shows despite them also flooding the categories with those same shows. Seriously hampers the enjoyment on watching on Amazon


Navigation needs work and the app often forgets which episode I've last seen. But honestly, the worst thing is that they have the gall to play advertisements when opening the app and right before watching your chosen video. They can be skipped, but keep in mind this is WITH a Prime subscription, so you're already paying but you get advert interruptions for other Prime originals. I don't want to be ready by the skip button; let me watch my videos in peace like Netflix or Crunchyroll.


menus need to be more personal to me. Categorise genres to make searching easier, my menu is bombarded with horror films because that's what I've searched for. Also keep what I have recently watched at the top of the screen. A more easily accessible favourites option would be great too. Also learn what I watch and offer suggestions instead of showing sports which I don't watch on the main screen or maybe give me the option to choose what type of suggestions I get.


Amazon is one of my favorite apps. Although I would like to suggest to make a purchase security code(4digit pin) before charging the card to confirm the purchase. That way if you have long stay visitors and order unwanted apps or movies on your firestick they wont be able just to abuse your account, or it would also be helpful if it had an option on your payments for activate or deactivate(on-off) your card payments.


Used to cast to my chromecast from my phone but the option disappeared for me but it still casts from my wifes phone? How does that make sense? Chatting online with costumer service was absolutely horrendous, they didn't even have knowledge that the new prime video app update now supports chromecast casting and just kept making excuse after excuse until they finally realized that it does support chromecast. So save yourself the headache and just call costumer service


If your streaming this app via PS4 network like I am you will come across alot of issues. Yes it has great titles and seems like it's worth the monthly fee. But at the moment the video will play for a min or two then buff and say something is wrong no matter how fast your speed is. The other thing I came across was that there will be a error screen that pops up and say, "something went wrong" but the video is still playing in the background. Please fix! 3out of 5 stars for now.


For prime members there should not be option for Better best or good quality to play the video ... simply you have to play it in HD ...and even though you adjusted the video settings to the BEST it plays in lowest 240p I can barely see whats going on ....this prime video app video quality is the worst no Matter Even if you changed the video settings to BEST ...it's still the worst .. Improve it please


Quality of videos sometimes questionable, low quality even when set to high/best in interface. Don't know why they cannot implement proper buffering. Sometimes subtitles are not synchronized or has typos. Variety of videos is rather limited. Location detection is enabled and number of available videos is limited because of this when you are travelling.


I would like to write my own thing sometimes when I write things down they are not relevant your download moves really slow and all u have are very old movies that I've seen already then it asked for money to see 60. Or 70 movies they should be free and pretty much I've seen already. Nothing new. Put out some new movies and maybe I'll watch


Very glitchy and unstable; selection of shows and movies is really good; however its many problems detract from this; kicks you out frequently and opens multiple windows of the same show, which seems to confuse and complicate the app, so it can lock you out saying you have already downloaded too many things and boots you out. Netflix has an excellent setup; see if you can work out those glitches Prime has, because otherwise it is an app with many great shows on offer & I am not giving up on it!


Horrible, this stupid app cannot remember where i paused at for even a few min. Always goes out to main and many times restarts the show and i have to skip to where i left off. Not to mention the continuous spinning trying to start, and no its not my connection because netflix hulu and cbs never has any issues.


Offline streaming feature is buggy. I don't understand the point of requirement of an internet connection when I have downloaded the videos to watch offline. Every time I download the video and watch it offline I get the following error: Error Code: ONLINE_LICENSE_MISSING


I really like Amazon Prime video but the only thing I don't like about it is that there's foreign language videos and there's no filter to eliminate them I would like to be able to select which language the videos are available in an located only my language videos so that I don't have to worry about foreign language videos coming up instead of something that I want to watch in my own language please consider this and thank you for making this app


Is unusable on my galaxy s10. Just get "service unreachable" message every time I try to run the app, and directs me to help page where there is nothing about my problem mentioned that I can find. It works great on my roku, but on my phone it's been very disappointing unfortunately.


Real improvements to the whole feel of the app, it's a far better experience casting to my android TV than using the built in app. Now if they at least told you there was a 4k version available on the HD version, they currently list them as two separate seasons and no viewing sync between them


Not working anymore with my LG3D smart tv. It is not allowing me to use the amazon prime video app on it and there are no longer new udates on this tv.. Also in my android tv box is only allowing SD movies. This is very bad, I am worry that later new updates will prevent me to access through my phone and my android tv box...


Lack some stuff, at times you can feel the early development, but, oh boy, this app is already amazing and I like it very much! Thanks for bringing my old series back and giving lots of new stuff at the same time and having a very good price!


When it works this a great app but I changed my rating to reflect my current experience. Every so often it goes buggy. I have uninstalled then reinstalled and still I get the same error, it also will go black with only audio working. Amazon has some great content, including their original shows, but the app is not always the best.


App is doing good with Amazon original stuff. But I wish you could add some features like zoom in with two fingers instead of clicking on symbol, skip of intro and screen shrinks when downloaded less than best, I mean characters appear too small to view. Apart from this entertaing app.


App crashes regularly. I watch amazon content fine in a browser but the app is so bad. My phone isn't brand new but it runs every other app (including resource intense apps like snapchat) just fine. Might've given it 2 stars if it wasn't so annoying about rating the app. Why bother users to rate a bad app?


This video service has a large selection of movies, just wish there were more great movies included with Prime. I've had membership for almost a year and a half, and at least half of the movies included with prime are low grade movies nobody has even heard of.


I already paid for prime then I have to pay more to watch some movies and TV shows have commercials and its rewind feature sucks. Doesn't ever remember where I left off on the TV series I'm watching. If Fringe wasn't only on amazon I'd choose netflix or hulu.


Remove forced adds and add a permanent "filter pay for content" as I already pay a monthly fee to not have that pushed in my face. Then you get 5* as the content is fantastic, picture and sound quality is fantastic and the IMDb x-ray is brilliant.


The app is very buggy, zooming in or out is just joke; the video just goes crazy an sometimes just goes to a black display with the audio on the background, and the only way to fix it is to skip 10 sec. or to restart the app.


It seems redundant and like gouging to pay for membership and also to pay for individual products. Please look into including more titles in Prime. Also, add subtitles in Spanish and other foreign languages. And, more Spanish-language programming, please. The current offerings are extremely sparse. Also, add the ability to rate programs.


Terribly hard to Navigate and Browse content. The app lacks very basic feature, Filters. I couldn't browse movies and shows by Category in a specific language. I could either browse by Language or Category, but not both. I have to manually scroll through hundreds of movies before I could watch one. I don't know if its some kind of Business tactic, it even lacks basic movie info, like IMDB rating. For some movies the IMDB rating is displayed while for most it isn't.


Great way to watch tv shows but I Don't understand why I have certain seasons blocked out because I have to pay for them? I have a prime account and pay almost 20 bucks a month.. when that issue is fixed I'll give 5 stars.


A video automatically plays when you first open the app, whether you're on wifi or data. This is terrible. Please make it stop. Other than that, my complaints are pretty much the complaints I have about Prime in general: abysmal selection of movies, no links to trusted review sites like Rotten Tomatoes.


The service is great. But the browsing is not. For starters, it should not be suggesting South Indian movies since I don't understand them. You can have basic suggestions algorithm implemented at least, based on what's watched for how long, and what's been checked out.


It's a pretty good app. The selection of movies and shows could be better, right now there are only a few good shows available with prime. Sometimes it can be hard to tell what new shows and movies have been put on/there should be a "coming soon" section maybe. It's annoying that sometimes good shows like 'Fresh of the boat' and 'Chicago PD' expire without notice. It would be good to get a notification for a show your watching to let you know it'll expire soon, giving you a chance to finish it.


Amazon prime is a great service. The searchability is poor. There seems to be quite a bit of hidden content you cant browse. You can search for shows by name, such as "the saint", to find the old 1960s show of that name but there is no way to stumble upon the show in the tv show section. Only popular or current shows are typically listed with weird exceptions. Its almost like they dont want you looking through all the content available, they want an algorithm to suggest shows to you.


Watchlist only saves the season not the show. Constantly doesn't save show progress. When it does save it, once I pair with chromecast it doesn't show any progress. Amazon does a terrible job of letting people know what shows and movies they have. Searching stuff is painful, type "Arnold Schwarzenegger" and 20 things without Arnold show up. Add "movies" and now 91 things show up, most of which he is not in. Word of advice. Copy Netflix's. They have the best system.


I like the content. It is alot better then other stream services. God mix of TV series and movies. I like that there are a lot of older movies, so I have taken a lots of trips down the memory lane. The app is high quality, the only thing I miss is better subtitles in English TV series and movies where there are some foreign languages. Often it is only enligsh CC, I would like to only have English subtitles when they are speaking non English. Solid app!


Every time I pause a downloaded video, it gives the message of license issue when trying to resume the same video. Very frustrating to delete the same video downloaded for offline viewing when you can't even view those videos.


I am very sad to say that I am very frustrated while download it and pay prime members charge. I want my money back. my mobile network is good but It does not play when evening start 6:00 am and night till 10:00 pm .


After I downloaded the movie. When I try I watch it it's streaming from internet instead of playing from downloaded content. Forwarding of videos don't work properly. Keep coming back to the beginning


Poorly coded - if you're watching a series and you leave the app and come back in - it will lose your progress and drop you where you first started watching that day/session - Meaning you have to go in to the menu to select 'stop playback' (where's the exit 'X' ) and faff about until you find where you actually left off. Very annoying. ALSO you have no choice but to skip the adverts even though you pay for the service. SKIP RECAP is slow to respond, press twice and skip to the end of the episode


I love the selection of movies and shows Prime has to offer. The only frustrating thing is if I'm watching a show, take a break, then pick back up watching it the app starts the show on a completely different episode. Then I have to go back and find where I left off, and most of the time just pushing the "back button" takes me completely out of the app and I have to re enter. It's pretty annoying, but the selection of things to watch keeps me coming back.


I recently got a list of movies to watch from a friend and they happen to be on this platform, which is great and I don't mind paying the fee bucks to rent them. BUT they need to improve this app to be more compatible with screen mirroring. I just rented my first and last movie (until this issue is fixed). It's so interesting and I'm really into it but I am quickly loosing my patience as I'm trying to mirror it onto my TV and it keeps buffering. So dissatisfied .


You guys use such cheap tactics for the users to purchase the annual membership. I just want to purchase one month's subscription, so you guys didn't provide my frequently used saved card's details. But you want me to manually put it again. Whereas if I choose the annual subscription, you give me option to pay via my frequently used card and other payment modes too. Even if I enter my daily used card's details, why am I not being allowed to pay with it? That's such a scam you guys are running!


I loved it at first. And the watch next list was at the top along with my channels I have(Starz,regular prime originals) and now they are gone and my home menu selection is nothing like it was..I don't know if the app updated but I don't like it. Now I have to search every movie I had been watching to add them to a watch list.. inconvenient as hell


Its a great app. The only thing about amazon prime in general is that it has this area thing. For eg. if i live in UK i can access content from there but maybe italian shows are unavailable to me. So i would like to ask the developer's to give us access to the whole content whatever language whatever content it may be. After all we are paying for watching that content.


Please let us allow to position the subtitles, currently they are shown near the center of the screen and are very distracting ,also please improve the zoom settings while watching videos. Try to implement something like Hotstar has done. The zooming part is really annoing. Let's see if you really value your users opinions.


Constant error message after every show watched. From reading forums seems like many have this issue and Amazon's solution doesn't work. In fact their solution seems to make it worse as it went from only doing it at the end of a show to now doing it permanently. Not even an error code so I could figure out what it is. As others have stated the GUI is a complete mess. I will be cancelling and sticking to Netflix. Amazon are just another rip off merchant.


Was great. The latest update removed the Recently watched watched list. Why? That was a great feature. Made it easy to keep up with where you are when watching a series. Right after I posted this I chatted with tech support. They fixed it in 20 minutes. Back to 5 stars.


Poor video quality, even though I set my video quality to best and try watching with cellular network, still it plays the video in good or average quality. I really don't understand, y then they have given the option of setting quality of video?? Worst, this doesn't happen with Netflix I want an answer for this, I wish like terminating the prime subscription


It's the best out of all available Prime Videos app like one on my TV through X1 Comcast and that one is atrocious. This allows skipping and rewinding and it does it decently with a clean UI. A big issue with Prime Video and this app is that they have SO much material yet it's it's impossible to find what you're feeling based on the genre unless you type the title in. Suggestions could be much better instead of having awful front page filled with old documentaries and stuff no one ever watches.


Great selection of things to watch. The U I could use a bit of improvement. I would prefer if the current active screen wood pop back up after phone has slept. having to tap all the buttons to get back to where you were watching your show is a bit of a pain in the backside.


Mediocre UX. Have to hunt for recently watched videos / shows. Leaving the app close to the end of an episode and going back, it decides by itself that you finished it and goes to the next one.


When I try watching prime in my phone, it doesn't work, and it used to work before. Now I can hear the audio, but the screen is always black. The new update has been really bad


Have Amazon prime at home, but when I watched on my daughter's TV, she was charged. D/l it on my tablet, despite some awful reviews - & no problem. Was able to see my programs & pick up where I left off. Amazon is the best!


Amazon Prime Video is fantastic. Very diverse content that seems to change often enough that I never run out of things to watch. Prime original series just seem to get better and better as the years go by. Highly recommend going Prime!


It does everything YouTube stopped doing. Play picture in picture overlayed our full screen or cast to a chromecast device, and even download whole seasons in one click for your vacation travels to cover not just your flight but your train and bus rides too. Plus the quality options include 4k for shows shot in that.


What I like best about Prime Videos is that it has amazing collection of Kids entertainment which is very informative and good stuff for little minds. With Prime Video I can be assured that my kids are not exposed to any distractive or offensive kids material available online in abundance.The feature called "Parental Ristriction" allows you to control the content available for kids ( for example general, family, teen or mature ).Few of the prime original series are a treat to watch.


This app while usable is nowhere near Netflix app. It won't pause and let you resume and does not open to where you left off on a series. The videos are great but the app lacks a lot!!


Every time I log out of the app, the next time I log back in I have to reset my preferences. I don't get it. Also your app will freeze and crash periodically. Pinch to zoom would be great to have


Loving this app more and more as I use it. Has so far every movie or tv show or channels that I searched for almost instantly too. Very updated releases. Its easy to use. Its faster speed uploads and downloads than any of the other simillar apps that I have been using. Very pleased Amazon Prime Video. For sure my new fave app to recommend.


Constantly crashing, whether on data or wifi. Downloaded show (Good Omens) had audio description on which couldn't be turned off - ended up having to delete entire app and reinstall to fix it as settings were greyed out. Used to be fine, now borderline unwatchable.


Best video I have. Being able to download and go, makes it my most used app. Between this and Amazon music, you can one running on my phone! Thanks, guys. I love it!!!


I love how smooth and well thought off is the app itself. Let me be clear it works perfectly on all devices. All I have wrong is the lack of subtitles in south slavic lenguages. I mean its 2019? !!! How complicated can be. Some aps have active live search for subs and amaz doesnt. Also I am 2000 kilometers away from any Hindi speaking country and yet there are Bollywood films allover!!!!?


Like all Amazon products, this likes to run in the background, without your using it. What a pain, but the pain is all yours (and your phone's battery). Try to close it out, maybe use Greenify? Forget it, it'll come right back,lurking in the background. Always lurking.


Such a lame app. I had set the quality of streaming best but it displays in lowest quailty even though I have good internet speed and the smallest subtitle is displayed so big that half of the screen is covered with it and i can't see anything else other than subtitles. And when i download something in high quality then also the quality of the video changes in between. And the volume of the app is also very low.


Average app. Not much Kannada movies collections disappointed. When we are scrolling in the list, if we open any show, then if we goes back, app will not remember where I left it, again I have to scroll through the list.


Useless filtering of movies. Very few categories. The app resets you're current position on choosing a movie for no reason at all while you are browsing a list. To many ads.


currently it is crashing about ever 17 sec I am using a samsung galaxy S9+. This is extremely frustrating as I had just purchased a movie and currently away from my computer for the next few days. **update ** it works fine but when you purchase a movie all the extra content plays after the movie and you can not select it as you would with a blue ray or apple movies.


Like once a day it tells me DRM scheme not supported and I have to reboot my phone. The error appears when I try to play downloaded material. Absolutely rubbish. Several updates later and it's still the same. Netflix and other services just work fine, only Amazon Prime fails.


Good selection of films and TV shows. Downside is that the app crashes if you've been watching it for a while and all the controls stop working.Then you have to go into settings and force the app to close. Would also like it better if things were better organised and the search worked better.


Even if I have downloaded videos, I have to connect to the internet for the videos to start playing or else it shows error. You Need to fix this asap.


Need a better way to move forward and backward when watching a show. 10 seconds is too small and having to move the progress bar is imprecise.

Very poor nowadays when without wifi even though we downloaded videos in advance. 90% of the time it never worked. It is asking to connect to internet . And says download error and it will resolve automatically. What does this message mean. When is it going to solve automatically.


They have good content but their interface is not that good. It is hard to find the content that you that you want to search from the list of given contents. There is no easy way to filter out unwanted content from the list.


Add some more. There is no playback speed. Add the feature. There is no slide options brightness slider and volume slider and seek slider. Add this features and improve.


I like prime videos for its content but the app does not run smoothly. Most of the times when I resume a TV show it does not start from where I have left it. Sometime an older episode starts!


Not all movies are here i tried searching for old movies also and its not there. And the new movies i would have gotten from a friend or rent online first before it comes on amazon and sometimes the new movies doesn't come on Amazon Prime.


It's a great streaming app but trying to cast it to my Google Chromecast and takes forever to try and load and then displays a error msg. Then when it does connect and play the video quits and audio keeps playing then it freezes. When I try to play it again I select the episode I was on and select resume but it plays an episode 3 or 4 episodes before the one I was watching.


Excellent app. Easy navigation and fluid streaming with simplistic user friendly control. Only current suggestion would be its synergy with FreeTime and the control of Prime Video within that app. My son can't watch the third season of SuperWings in FreeTime but can via my account, which doesn't make sense. Need better parental control of content and the ability to manage that content between apps more efficiently. Though I suppose that's more on the FreeTime app than this one.


It does not work properly. The video will start streaming for 10 seconds and then it will go to a black screen and I can hear what is happening but not see anything. Have closed the app and tried opening it multiple times on different days and the same issue still arises. Disappointed.


With latest update user experience has worsen. Every time I try to watch a video, the video stops and a black screen appears. I restarted the app and my device as well. Nothing works


Great content but the app it's self is a terrible buggy mess during episodes it'll switch the episode along. While trying to watch a show you have to go to the episode you want to watch because clicking resume puts you multiple episodes every time. The amount of tv shows and movies almost make up for the apps terrible design


There is a bug in the App. When user watching the video and if he clicks on the power button accidentally or intentionally the play back is not starting from where he left of and it is starting from the last saved play back info


Thank you for finally allowing us to stream not only to a Fire stick but also a Chromecast! This has allowed my family and I to use the app 10x more often than before because we were restricted to only using the TV app for Amazon Video which kind of sucked do to being slow.


Awful This is the worst experience ever ,I subscribed and they told me I have one month free trial ,was excited ,went to watch some movies or shows but 50 % of them you have to pay for ,absurd prices , canceled it next day since I wasn't happy with that ,it seems that even if you pay for next month if you cancel earlier you can't use it anymore ,you have to subscribe and pay again ,honestly this is unacceptable ,switch to netflix ,just try to avoid prime video ,is garbage and a scam


This is a great app! So why only 4 stars, you ask? You guys seriously need to look into your search mechanism. I search "Arnold Schwarzenegger" and get results including "ruchi's kitchen", "Malgudi days", "mummy returns"! What? Give users the option to search by their parameter- genre, actor, language, title, whatever. As of now, search results are hilarious. Get it together, guys! Come on.


It's a good app. The only down points are the limited number of non prime originals that I can download, and that sometimes it loses track of the episode that I'm watching.


The app in overall is good but have somethings who could be better, like when you download some tv show/movie and no have subtitles (only online). For someone like me who use the app for study english that's terrible 😔😔


Tried to cancel the subscription due to none use. App sends you to website. Website sends you everywhere else but cancel subscription. I call they tell me to go to website because they can't see my account. I have spent more time trying to cancel then I have using the app.


Can't change language from within the app. You have to log onto the website, but the app still keeps reverting to German. And just like that you made sure I'll be unsubscribing before the end of the month. Netflix is so much superior!


Works great most of the time but lately have had issues with descriptive text appearing and only fix was to uninstall and then install again. This needs looking into


No kannada in the new update. And in the previous version also movies in tamil, telugu, malayalam, hindi, punjabi, bengali was a highlight and why not kannada?? Pls ensure kannada is the first prefernce in this region and other languages in their region. Else we will stop using this app. It does not matter, we lived without it earlier snd we will continue to live without it. Kannadiga!


The content is vast and good. But the categorization is quite poor. A person can get lost and confused in what to watch. Also, the Hollywood movies are quite pathetic. Usually the flops. The ones with no head and tail ending. PS there's always scope for improvement.
