This app has been a lovely way to communicate and share your experiences on a journey. However since the last update when video upload was introduced i can no longer preview photos in my album when selecting to upload them. This feature was enabled by long touching on a photo so it became bigger in order to see the detials of the photos and select the best ones to upload. Without this feature all the photos in the album look like small thumbnails, blurry and cut off the edges. I have an Android

aanpassen I actually really like the app but adding anything manually is so frustrating. As soon as you want to change the date and time manually it almost never saves the changes. Or adding a step in between puts it in the wrong spot even if you are able to adjust the date and time. Also offline editing could be much better. I really like the app and think it is very intuitive to use, but these things make it so much less enjoyable.

  3. florin filip-avatar

    florin filip

uitschakelen Although my Travel Tracker is off, the platform still shows to any visitor where i am currently using my last gps info. I want the viewer to see only the steps that I manually introduce in the app. Is there a fix to this? And, the 2nd problem: the help section always tells me "could not load page", which is just great.. Later edit: guys... I just told you that my tracker is OFF and you still SHOW my location to everyone....

polarstep travel tracker Love it. In particular the ease of creating posts offline by adding pictures and text anytime. Next time I'm online it jist magically syncs. The way the trip is posted on the map is really smooth and creates a great presentation. Also like that video now is supported. Wish there was a way to select text to feed it into Google Translate for my friends who speak different languages.

  5. Matt Cawte-avatar

    Matt Cawte

Fantastic travel app. Great travel tracker functionality and can print an awesome book at the end of your trip if you like. I've done 5 books so far and am in the middle East working on the 6th. Keeps a great record of your trips and can share with friends easily. Graphics are gorgeous.

  6. Ian Phillips-avatar

Really good app, easy to use and now you can also add videos which makes it even better. Only real negative is that you can't change your travel method, boat, car, bus etc.

  7. T Erbacher-avatar

    T Erbacher

Great app! Very easy and great way to keep track of your journey. Only thing to make this even better would be the possibility to differentiate between different ways of travelling. This would make it so much better! Looking forward to new features.

  8. Michael Flowers-avatar

    Michael Flowers

Great way to keep track of your holiday for yourselves as well as your family and friends. We just completed a 6 week trip around the uk and and absolutely loved being abke to keep track of our memories and photos as we travekled around.

  9. Kevin van Leeuwen-avatar

    Kevin van Leeuwen

Really love using this app and have been using it for a few months now but since a few days all the pictures i upload are in pretty bad quality compared to when i did this earlier. Someone knows why this happens?

  10. Zachey M-avatar

    Zachey M

Really great app for tracking travels! It would be a 5 stars if it didn't bugged everytime you put a destination twice, or change the dates of a destination that make the order of the trip changes.

  11. Bryan Frawley-avatar

    Bryan Frawley

One of the best travel apps available really loveusing this app to show how friends what we've been up to. And it will be great to get the printed journal when we arrive home.

  12. D. Bugz-avatar

    D. Bugz

I love the way PolarSteps automatically pegs your pics on a map to wherever you were when you took them. Not too fond of the spam apps it tries to make you download but that's the price of free.

  13. Hedgie Xo-avatar

    Hedgie Xo

Unfortunately not the great travel app it could be. Buggy as hell, constantly requires restarts. Automatic implementation of flight lines is a pain. Just did a big road trip with several non-stop legs and the app assumes we flew. Official support page suggests a "hack" (adding a destination between A and B) to get around it, as the app doesn't feature the ability to change modes of transport. Rather than us having to hack your app to simulate an obvious feature, how about improving your app?

  14. Brian Stone-avatar

    Brian Stone

I've been using Polarsteps to log previous trips and will be taking a forthcoming one. I like a lot about it and love tracking our friends´ journeys. The mapping lets it down completely though. Hopelessly out of date in most of the places I've been logging (SE Asia) and very low resolution on the satellite imagery. Polarsteps replied to my messages about this but say they won't do anything about it, which is very disappointing.

  15. Guiwald Doh-avatar

    Guiwald Doh

I like this app so I'll jus list some flaws. Note that I am always in high accuracy mode: - doesn't track in high speed trains. I took some in China, whew my GPS was working in other apps, but not tracking here. - not possible to add manually a data point that is not a step. - not possible to specify a mean of transportation. High speed train is always considered as flying and my 2 previous points makes editing an hassle. -Would be nice to be able to have a step between 2 data points, not just 1

  16. John Redpath-avatar

    John Redpath

Excellent travel app. And once a trip is completed there's an opportunity to order a book made from your travel log. Just received mine and I have to say it is first class! One minor development point maybe that could be added - the graphic showing the flight between points could be made to show the great circle route. At the moment it seems to show just a curve between points. That way the route would show which countries were flown over and tie up with photos taken from the plane.

  17. Alex Dean-avatar

    Alex Dean

Great app to track your trip, keeping everyone up to date. Being able to print a book in the end as a keepsake is awesome

  18. Claire F-avatar

    Claire F

Fantastic app; I'd originally planned to write a blog of my travels for family and friends but a fellow traveller told me about Polarsteps and I love it. Fantastic that you can have a book of your travels produced. My only gripe is that I turned the travel tracker off because I didn't like all of the lines zig zagging over my map. I would use it if I could just pick the key locations e. g. if I've been on a day trip, I want to just show the key stops not the entire route around the island.

  19. Katherine Lindsay-avatar

    Katherine Lindsay

Great way to post photos and log what you did each day for others to follow along l. Also great to go back and review past trips.

  20. Gianluca Jandelli-avatar

    Gianluca Jandelli

It's a very good travel tracker. I would like to add captions to pictures and the possibility to edit personal comments (not the main one) and address/call somebody. I would like to add that I discovered what I think it's a bug: in the notification page each person's remark is shown twice. Wrong.

  21. Mallory Cordeiro-avatar

    Mallory Cordeiro

Cool app, easy to use and follow. I set my dad up to follow my travels and even he can use it. Works great.

  22. Antoine Janssen-avatar

    Antoine Janssen

All you need for a travel blog. Your friends can follow you while you move, which is quite nice. The app provides access security, as you don't want to be tracked publically: 'followers' should install the app, create an account and request access to you. But there is also a possibility to share the link of your trip via whatsapp or facebook, then people can follow you while they don't appear in your list of followers. I had expected that the app would force people to create an account.

  23. Hariadi Adhari-avatar

    Hariadi Adhari

So I've checking on the similar apps and found Polarsteps are the best apps amongst 'em so far... Really beautiful interface and the magnificent polar steps on the maps. But I would like to request or giving some advice that might be useful for the apps itself, 1. Giving an menu or options or icons or tag to Flights and Hotel Staying as a step so I can check it or see a resume of my flights in a month, year or selected times. And some others but that's it for now...

  24. Julie Smith-avatar

    Julie Smith

This a fantastic app to keep track of your travels and let your family and friends know exactly where you are. I love that you can add photos too.

  25. Xavi Fajarnés-avatar

    Xavi Fajarnés

Tracking a world trip for 6 month with any big problem yet, just some wrong tracks that can be easily deleted. I would just suggest to improve the way to find other "polarstepers" that use your language in order to follow their trips. Also the possiblity of accepting comments or some kind of interaction with nonusers would be nice.

  26. Nat S-avatar

    Nat S

Polarsteps has been the easiest and most efficient way to track my travels, especially for a free app! It is so easy to use, doesn't send you an overwhelming amount of notifications, and is incredible in so many ways! I was suggested this app two weeks into a four month trip and will definitely use it again! I have also recommended it to multiple friends too. 10/10 would recommend and will use again.

  27. Deborah Hanvey-avatar

I have been very happy to be able to read my daughter's adventures which has more than set my mind at ease that she is doing fine.

  28. Gerdien Kritzinger-avatar

    Gerdien Kritzinger

An extremely useful app to keep friends and family up to date with your travels doubling as a memory album!

  29. Henrietta C-avatar

    Henrietta C

App has such potential. But took a while to get the hang of it. When adding in past steps check the date and time are consistent with steps before and after it. "Kms travelled" is not accurate partly because I backdated the first part of the trip and it wasn't actually tracking us then. Support centre responded but accurate tracking still a problem. Advice to use high accuracy tracker conflicts with "recommended" setting "Balanced" in App & didn't fix it. Would like to label individual photos.

  30. Michael Moosi-avatar

    Michael Moosi

The app in general, the idea and the design are really amazing...BUT I'm not really comfortable, that it's possible to see where I'm at three moment without the possibility to have a delay or maybe only show a region with the location and showing the exact position a few days later. There are definitely countries I would prefer not showing it immeditaly.

  31. caroline page-avatar

    caroline page

I might have totally misunderstood this app. Thought it was going to show route taken. Did for first five days. And then stopped when I refresh to current location just shows a straight line from last to current location. Across inaccessible terrain which we didn't flow. Wish I hadn't relied on this app for beginning of my two year trip. Would have preferred to have paid for something that actually worked

  32. Robin Malik-avatar

    Robin Malik

Great concept but too much manual effort for me. Desperately needs the ability to auto create trips and steps from GPS data in uploaded photos (appreciate the UI/UX and technical challenges behind this). Even being able to use the "share to" option on Android and share to Polarsteps would be good; present a pop up wizard that lets us choose between adding to an additional trip and step *or* create a new trip and step (using GPS data if present). Let us sort trips by date please!

  33. Nia Howells-avatar

    Nia Howells

Really enjoying using this app, it's exactly what I wanted. It would be nice to be able to directly comment back to people who have commented or like comments. My family had a trouble finding my blog to follow without the app. I think that the computer website is slightly clunky to navigate and sometimes (maybe because my tracker is set to ultra light most of the time to save battery) the map shows me going places I haven't been. I think it would be nice to be able to delete dots on the map.

  34. zagreb boris-avatar

    zagreb boris

nice app, but still buggy. When entering data of some past journey, I don't understand how app "decides" which lag of the route was made by plane, car or walking? How can I change air route to ground one? One more advice - it should be nice if I can determine ground route with "invisible" stops - just to make the route more real.

  35. mick armfield-avatar

    mick armfield

So much easier to use than I had anticipated. Became a regular activity each night when I returned back to my hotel.

  36. Anna Sz-avatar

It's an amazing app to share your travel stories. I appreciate that my family can just see it online without installing the app!

  37. Lou Smith-avatar

    Lou Smith

Still learning to use app, but so far working well- I would like to be able to post full size photos. But still enjoying the app...

  38. Joe Walker Blue9483-avatar

    Joe Walker Blue9483

Good premise and app. Would definitely increase the star rating if when the map opens on the 1st screen it indicated the locations you have been ( or booked marked) a simple pin or flag ...even better if you click on the flag it opens to that trip or gives you the name of place. Much better when u want to show family and friends an over all visual

  39. Oliver S-avatar

    Oliver S

Entering past travel steps is very buggy as steps appear out of sequence. If you spend a long time in one city, the "travel lines" make no sense at all as the time in between steps entered is used as your "travel time". The automatic classification of "flight" lines works maybe half the time. This app may be good to create photo books, but I found pretty much useless as a travel blog. Uninstalling the app and looking for something else.

  40. Fernando Pizzani-avatar

    Fernando Pizzani

I was really excited with this app seemed just awesome. However while on a cruise from Geneva to Bs. As. It started to add flight trips from current location to Europe and back. I searched for a way of correcting this but I haven't been able to do so. The solution suggested to delete points doesn't work as the points regenerate instantly after being deleted. These errors mess up all the stats. Would give it 5 stars if I could solve the problem

  41. dominik grensing-avatar

    dominik grensing

Would probably give the app more stars if the location would be accurate/tracking properly!!! 90% of my lines just go through as a straight line and doesn't show the exact route I drove, too bad because other than that it's a decent app and does what I want it to... Also noway of getting in contact to try fix the problem

  42. helen thorburn-avatar

    helen thorburn

Absolutely brilliant app! Very intuitive and easy to use. Thanks to the app I was able to keep my photo collection manageable throughout my trip. The photo book is STUNNING!!!! I've never had one like it!! Easy to make and it just looks amazing!!!

    Tahereh Hosseini

Such a great and east to use app. I love the map and the interface, and the fact that it offers both real-time location detection and offline/manual setup. I was even using the map as my main navigation map during my trip. I love Polarsteps and will keep using it for my future special trips.

  44. Marius Dam-avatar

    Marius Dam

Riddled with bugs on my Nokia 8. 1. Title changes occasionally to the lines I put in "what have you been up to" textbox after selecting images 2. selected images are unselected when I want to change them (which is annoying with 15 images) 3. Images occasionally get randomly rotated

  45. Kelli DeVink-avatar

    Kelli DeVink

Great travel tracker. I've started an 8bkonth trip around Europe and this ap has been great in documenting all the places I've stopped. Not to mention friends and family can follow me to see where I'm at any given point in time. Highly recommend it!

  46. Chantal Tinbergen-avatar

    Chantal Tinbergen

It works amazing although one small thing, I selected a photo and before I uploaden I deleted it. It now happened to me twice that the deleted photo is still uploaden with the other ones. Apart from that, amazing!!

  47. Katie Pope-avatar

A great way to use this app as a diary with photos and a map! The edit function is handy for text and pics. Love the travel book option at the trip completion and with further editing can be customised to suit the reader/s.

  49. M. Usmann-avatar

    M. Usmann

This is a cool app but it is not in line with modern trends. Low social functionality, not much option to personalise and missing flags! Also more stats would be awesome such as most frequently visited country, travel calendar etc.

  50. Lukas Felber-avatar

    Lukas Felber

The app is very nice to track your trip and let others see where you are and what you are up to. Points to improve: 1) Let co-travelers post/admin stuff 2) Auto scroll panorama pics

  51. Yaron Kaufman-avatar
