Company shut down and ended service without any alert, notification, message, anything to us customers. After latest "update" ring completely stopped working. Soonest another fitness ring is expected on the market is circular, sometime between September and never based on the available information.

Used to be good, however now syncing is an issue. Only way to sync is to"force stop" the app then restart it. Then spin your ring. Not quite a brick but very inconvenient.

Overall, I like the app (and the ring in particular), even though there are definitely some improvements that could be made. As other users have mentioned, sometimes it needs a little kick in the bluetooth to sync properly. Also, the UI is a little bit clunky and I find that it takes more than the usual amount of effort to press buttons or swipe through the app--the sensitivity probably needs to be higher. However, it syncs really really well with my Google Fit app, and when I use the two in conjunction to see steps/activity/heart rate, I feel like I'm getting the best of both worlds. (For example, tracking an activity in Fit while wearing the ring generates activity-specific heart rate data, which I like seeing) The ring's battery also lasts longer than I would expect, which is really nice, and it seems to recharge fast after the first couple charges. In future, I'd like to see a Motiv app that works more like Fit, so I don't have to use both, but for the time being, I'm satisfied.

Only issue I have is that in order for the ring to auto sync, it must be the only device connected to the phone. I have a smartwatch connected to my phone's bluetooth at all times. Because of this, I have to force stop the Motiv app and then manually sync my Ring. I contacted support about this issue back on April 16, I sent a diagnostics report. They were unable to resolve my issue. Their response was "I'm afraid both [watch and ring] cannot be connected to [the phone at] the same time. However, can you try to connect the ring on its own when wanting to view your data? You can disconnect it during other times of the day, that shouldn't affect the data sent to the phone." If the auto sync worked when other devices are connected to my phone, I would give this app a 5 star rating.

The app isn't bad but I have noticed a few recurring problems. First, after the battery gets critically low, it is impossible to get rid of the "critically low" notification. It never goes away, even when the ring is already recharged. The only way to reset it is by force stopping the app. Another problem is, editing the activity often throws an error and it will then also only start editing after force stop. Those two are pretty annoying.

Great when it works, but there are several bugs/issues. I've had some issues maintaining pairing between my ring and my phone (but it's getting better) and their support is not good. O had some basic questions about LED indications, and their support was slow to respond. When they finally did, they wanted me to re-report the issue, then send a video which they never acknowledged receiving. Still, great for sleep and step tracking!

I've used motiv for about a year and am happy with it. There are issues especially when an update to the app is done. I've been able to work thru those issues (not syncing is the worst one). Overall I would recommend with caution. You have to be patient with manual sync, be especially patient. The one thing I have learned to do when the ring doesn't sync is to restart my phone and charge it at the same time the ring is on the charger. Put the ring on the charger first and then restart the phone and charge so that both are charging at the same time. It's kinda a 'hit-or-miss' deal, but for the most part it's been working for me for a while now.

Great Idea, but not great execution. I love the ring, but struggle so much with the app it's starting to feel not worth it. I've had the ring about 8 months now. It's taken a beating and I'm pretty sure it's still functioning properly, but without the app working to see the data its kind of pointless. Update- the app continued to have issues every after customer service "fixed" my issue. Now the app seems to have erased my profile and has an error every time I try to make a new one. Useless.

I do love the idea of the ring and I've had it a couple of months. Unfortunately the recent updates have screwed up syncing and I find that my ring loses its connection to my Pixel 3 frequently and I have to turn Bluetooth off and back on to get it to reconnect. No amount of spinning the ring gets it to sync. In addition, I reached out to support (email is the only option) and it literally takes them about a week to reply. Ridiculous. I initially sent the email on 3/31, received a reply on 4/8.

Not at all what I expected. very little detail, the reason I got this was to track sleep and that turned out to be the most disappointing feature. you want to click on pieces of the sleep pattern it shows you for details, but you cant. there is no deep dive info. super basic, not worth the money. too many issues with syncing to top it off. rose gold scratches if you lift a weight with it on, fyi.
