It's so slow to load that I keep thinking all my progress was deleted. It won't execute the code on the "Streaming movie landing page" project.. I looked up a video in what to do. I forced stopped the app. I cleared data and cache. I updated the app. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. NONE of that solved anything. I DID NOT PAY FOR "PRO" TO USE A BROKEN PIECE OF JUNK APP! Either this gets fixed, or once my subscription runs out, I go elsewhere.

review For learning about code is very good but... One thing that I don't like much is when I make an error, the app doesn't explain why the answer that I chose is wrong. For the rest is a very affordable and user friendly app, plus they have a service that basically can give a new working career.

reddit First of all, the app is not that bad. Its good to have this knowledge provided to people, but I have some problems. It tries too hard to make something that is inherently complicated simple. What I mean by that is that some information is entirely skipped and leaves some stuff unexplained for the sake of keeping things simple. Apart from that I should mention I had no access to the "Pro" sections as you'd have to pay, but if the level of "simplicity" is kept throughout the course, its not worth

apk Very easy to use, and taught in a great way. With the amount of opportunity in the digital world it's a gift to have the ability to get the skills needed with such convenience. If you're still drifting in life, stop app hunting, download, open, and get you're ticket to the new world with quantum A.I. computing... Thanks to the developers!

online I really like how it gamifies learning; it's very motivating. There are some things that could be better: First, the symbols band above the keyboard is a great idea, but doesn't work: it always reverts to "print". Second, there are errors in various exercises (eg the perimeter calculating exercise), but nowhere to report them. Third, I think it would be wonderful to have harder exercises with less handholding.

premium apk A very rewarding way to learn to code. The curriculum is straight forward and the program keeps a linear focus, instead of trying to jam all aspects of coding into one giant module with fancy graphics. I ended up subscribing for the year without hesitation. Would love to build on an app like this in the future. Wish me luck.

app download Fun to learn the basics for someone with no previous coding experience like me. Unfortunately, it has the same major flaw as duolingo: there aren't any review/spaced repetition exercises so you'll probably forget everything you've learned. To reinforce things, your only option is to repeat the modules, which isn't fun.

pc download Great app but I am experiencing a problem. After finishings a section of the course the screen is stuck on "calculating sparks" without progress. I checked and it's not a problem caused by my internet connection. Most likely it's a connection problem from mimo

download truly enjoying the style this app delivers the learning in. the irony that irks me is that on some input fields for the lessons, it won't accept certain characters from my keyboard (swiftkey), usually the period or comma; there was an instance of being unable to type a double quote after a comma without the comma being erased, which was weird. finally, it's very hard to find the hitbox on the provided slider of operators etc, it's like it's 1px thin right along the horizontal center of the bar.

This app is great! Too good to be true, honestly. I tried grasshopper, and many many many of the other coding apps, but they pale in comparison. I am currently learning python and this one actually allows you to learn the language fully without spending even a cent. There are incredibly non-intrusive ads that rarely pop up, and aren't videos you are forced to watch. You can learn many different coding languages, and I haven't checked those out yet. It is a bit slow-paced but that's not so bad.

  11. Zachary Long-avatar

I've tried a few coding apps and also tried an offical Microsoft Azure online cert class and Mimo has been so much better than any other I've tried. It's very similar to Duolingo, just for coding. And $60/year is nothing when you look at how easy it is to use. There are others that are free that I find not as easy to use and I get confused and frustrated. Then there are others that cost me a few hundred dollars for just the one class and you have to complete it in the allowed time.

The most beginner friendly app for learning coding. One small concept at the time in short lessons/exercises. It helped me immensely, as I struggled to find time for long courses on a daily basis. But it's easy to find 5-10 min, but every day. It seems that might be too little to learn programming but it turned out I learnt more than ever. Also, it's much easier to remember such small chunks, it sticks. I removed one star because JavaScript course is not updated to the latest version of the lang

So far it's very helpful and easy to understand concepts as it has challenges or questions after every single lesson we learn!! I just started using it and it's sooo easy to understand few things now.... Being a 9th grader, it's perfect app for me!! You really have to install this app... Bestest one I've come across ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  14. Akadok-avatar

Well that is pretty good stuff in here. Still some languages are clearly overlooked. Also im not sure if this contains coding best practices at all, but ill carry on. Probably some integrations with codepen/ stack overflow would be good.

Just started using the app today and it feels good I have noticed that it seems to have a very similair design as Duolingo with the streaks, leader board, streak freezes etc. But seems much better than duolingo since this learning seems to work way better. It also dkes a good job at gradually making u write more of the code by yourself when introducing a new subject. Also i like that it allows you to go back and check other questions u have answered in the same lesson overall very good app

I find this app very useful. It's so easy and fun to learn Python on-the-go. Purchased the pro subscription for half the price and I'm getting so much value out of it. Definitely deserves a 5 star rating!

Hi, I've been using this app for 1 week now. I am happy with the app, the way it has code snippets for us to complete and the projects for each topic. However, I found out one fault in the app. In CSS functions, the the code does not apply the filters to images. The images seem completely same, even after tweaking the values. So to practice my skills in using filters, I had to install another app. I would really appreciate if you could solve this issue. This is the only problem I'm facing.

This app is amazing! I have always wanted to learn how to code and read html and now it is very easy. The lessons are simple and easy to understand, short and sweet. After just 1 day using the app, I can already create my own webpage with links and pictures. Best $30 I've ever spent. If you have a desire to learn more about computers and software, then this is the app for you. I highly recommend this app.

  19. MIHIRZZ PATEL-avatar

Awesome application for the begginer to intermediate like me. If you know how to code, and have confusion about from where should you start your carrier, this app is like give it a try. You will go through basics, and some intermediate concepts. This app is specifically for web development, however, nowadays there's no certain boundaries between any fields.

I really like the app. But it is missing one thing. Earlier there was a playground system which allowed us to view the projects of other people, but now it isn't available. I learned a lot by looking at the projects of other people. If possible, please bring back the playground system. It will be really helpful

Best app ever for coding! If you are a complete beginner you should just give it a try. It helps you go through a concept in a very easy manner. You can just learn coding by a few clicks. Also the format of this app is also well made and is very interactive. Well made app!

  22. Cedar Coombs-avatar

    Cedar Coombs

This app in my opion is very good at teaching coding but (And I am not saying there is anything wrong with this) but if you dont buy pro (at least for me so far) it doesn't give enough practice for you to actually remember it very well. I haven't bought pro but I am pretty sure that with it, it is really good.

So far so good! The way the coding tutorials are broken down is very easy to follow along. And I'm learning a lot. And it's so fun. I actual look forward to using it. I am subscribed to premium because I find the information beyond valuable for the price. What a time we live in!

I'm heading towards my senior year as a mechatronic engineering student. I grabbed the year subscription while it was on sale. I brushed up on my C++ and am currently consuming all of the Python content. It's great to use my time practicing coding rather than playing some idel mobile game. I'm happy with the quality and structure of the app. No complaints so far!

I've been reading some of the ratings, it concerns me about purchasing the upgrade. Some have been saying that it's doesn't work and I don't wanna drop €60 on the bin. It seems like a good app and in a way it is. I know that the developers are working hard and it is a good app. But some of the features I think don't need to be paid for and I wish that you could go back and do a lesson again. People have been saying that it's a big bug, Even worse with the upgrade. Has helped won't be paying tho.

  26. Rachel-avatar

A fun and so far relatively easy to understand introduction. But has moments where the gamey style lets it down and makes it hard to understand WHY something does what it does. We just have to accept it becauss there seems to be no See More or Elaborate feature on certain concepts. Also the use of phone keyboards can be a bit clunky around the pop up suggestions for what code I might be about to input. I think only keyboard or only tapping on in-app options might work nicer.

I had a great experience with the app.. I even recommended for my little sis that just started Frontend Dev. But as a UX designer myself, I would appreciate if UI/UX or Product design can be added to the list of courses. It will rally help a lot of people, especially the Q&A and Quiz section.. Thanks.. Looking forward to an update soon.. 😁

I bought the subscription immediately after trying out this app. Admittedly I'm a noob at coding but with that much content I could stay occupied for many months if not years. Mimo has a style geared 2 my wavelength of learning. Gotta love a teacher that uses South Park references in their course. I haven't tried any other apps of this sort and may upgrade to 5 💫 once I have something 2 compare 2. I do find it hard 2 believe better value/quantity/quality is possible. Keep it coming Dev's! 👍

So far enjoying it a lot! Looking fantastic. Pretty much look like Duolingo but better than Duolingo. But I would rework the Keyboard. print() annoyingly show up when typing manually any character. It's hard to slide to access for characters of the syntax without swipe left to other modules. I would add True and False to that list.

an amazing app with a simple and cool interface that I think will be a great helpful to beginners. it teaches web developments codings(JavaScript, HTML, CSS) as well as creative coding for high challenge fields such as gamecoding, AI in Python. you may find this app really helpful.

The best app to learn programming, it seems like Duolingo method. It's like a game. It's funny and addicted. I loved it. I downloaded it to try programming and I see it's possible. Thanks the developers. Give me more weeks to use it hahaha Still expensive but I love it

So far it seems like a learning experience. I'm about a quarter was through with Python, and I feel like it's not too redundant/condescending, but also not too fast paced and strict. The projects are way too simple/hand-holding tho

I only use the free content, but I think it's great app for keeping your mind working, great for studying whether you are brand new to coding or just need a refresher once in a while. I can only imagine what it would be like if I used the full version.

  35. Craig-avatar

The lessons are basic and repetitive for coders with experience. The lack of introduction to EcmaScript 6+ is a little concerning to me. The projects and challenges are probably where you'll get the most benefit and practice for your average coder.

I am a student in IT an I just started...Mimi has helped me know how to code for one of my previously complex but now simple assignments thanks to the exercises I did and the theory I learn regarding Html as well as CSS...I couldn't be so thankful because we haven't learnt most of what we need to apply in the assignment, so basically it's up to us to research how to write the correct code for the html website and we know how long that would take. Thanks to Mimi I got the information I needed +++

Overall good so far. Though you cannot go back over lessons without pro. A road block that should not be in place. They could have made it so the early lessons are reviewable. So people get to know if this is for them before buying.

I'm learning a lot of new skills and concepts but feel that some of the questions/tasks could be made more challenging - sometimes I'm simply regurgitating information that's at the top of the screen, rather than having to apply what I've learnt.

  40. Alice Kim-avatar

A great and fun way to learn code. The repetition and general flow of lessons makes it easy to keep moving forward. Honestly I also found the pro version to be worth the money if you need something to teach you how to apply code as well.

I love this app but the reason I'm doing 3 stars is because there is no way of inviting friends and getting pro. I once tried inviting my friend ankit but when he clicked the link, it didnt work so I tried on my other phone, I didnt work too so please fix this so we can get mimo pro for at least a week

Doesn't really make sense that there isn't an option to skip ahead. I just needed to learn JavaScript. I know HTML and a lot of CSS, I shouldn't be forced to spend a bunch of time on completing courses that I'm competent in.

💯5stars for a well made app. note: im a script noob. App will present a sentence or 2, then, next you recall this info when presented with a problem. Then comes the best part!:When you submit your answer, its compiled on the fly & you see your answer in a compiled state within the apps enviroment.; u see how your answer/code runs after compilation.tho in 3 days of usage i experince one thing i wish to see happen,& thats for the app to support landscape positioning as it dose not on my device.

I have been working in the sales team of a company providing professional services for PostgreSQL for the past year - I know nothing of the inner workings of databases or SQL, I've simply learned overtime to pair offerings/services/tools to specific buzzwords and use cases and then let one of our techies dig in when necessary. 3 hours running through the SQL activities on here has connected a million dots in my head. I look forward to Mimo broadening my knowledge in this space.

Bruh! Whitespace shouldn't matter.... When I enter "abc +=5", I see you whining that there should be a space 😑..like "abc += 5". Else, a good app... There's too much repetition of very similar questions... Might be useful for entry-level beginners.. I don't understand why I'm doing all this even when I selected intermediate..

This is a wonderfully made application, though it's more for kids and teens. I believe there's a great benefit for kids ready to learn. Kids whom don't need much to get data into the brain will pick up coding with this kick a snap cracked baked goes pop!! Adults, you'll need more information than this. It's too simple for adults in explaining coding and seems to jump straight into the desert before your ready. kids whom live in the world of code will find it great..it's cute.

The lesson plans are the perfect length, and give you a sense of accomplishment. I am really impressed in what is beautiful piece of software.

If you want to code, use this. I genuinely love this app and I can recommend it with every living cell of my body. I am currently learning Python, and it's a lot of fun, tho the pro version is pretty overpriced, and, in my opinion, you should be able to practice older lessons for free. Apart from that's everything is exceptional, from the layout of the app to the ease of use and simplicity of it.

Mimo is a quality app that does a great job of balancing in-depth learning through good portions in their exercises. My only two complaints are that, 1, it is too expensive to pay for yearly ($60/yr), and, 2, being a sucker for repetition, I find myself more reluctant to do the exercises I know I can't repeat (because I can't afford the paid version). Very nice app, but there are lots of other free or cheaper resources that are also very nice and effective.

Good app...very good. But ; 1) Please allow one to, like revise what they already learnt by repeating. When i try clickin on a lesson i already completed it tells me to upgrade to pro...which is bad as sometimes I'm too busy and dont open the app and I can't revise what i did before 2) Reduce the pro thing...its everywhere...there are some good things pple miss to learn because they're not in pro....we're not all able to upgrade to pro.....please Thanks

Duolingo for coding (without the threatening owl). Teaches you to code in different languages using short, easy to grasp concepts, then building off what you've learned. Keeps me coming back every day. Ads are short and not disruptive. Streaks bring me back every day, and the leader board motivates me to do more than my goal. Great app for people new to coding!

I have been learning JavaScript for a while, but it all seemed a bit abstract until I downloaded this app. If you want to understand the why of what you are coding, I truly recommend this app. It has put things into context by applying code to real world situations that just seems to make much more sense to me. It is also a lot of fun.

I've been using it for Python. It's very good at quickly teaching each concept in a fun way, and I'm learning fast! But there are a LOT of lessons with negligible issues. Many have typos, or will have a print() instruction at the end of a script and output nothing. Please go through and make it look more polished!

Mostly good app but will get to what I hate. It gets me so close to deleting it that I had to leave this review. And I am working on the python course, do not know about the others. I HATE THE WRITING PARTS (most times). Usually it becomes a typing simulator that you have to fight. You need to get the text EXACTLY as they want it. The exact lower case and number of spaces. In some places they defined the field properly and it does not show up as being capitalized but in others you need to toggle the damn upper case off, for me pressing 2 times. Another pain is are the {} and other special symbols. For the most part they give you the symbols you need but only once. After you press one they go away and print comes up. Very annoying for ==. and_another_really_retarded_part_i_hate are the very long variable names that again you have to get just right, fighting the autocorrect that tries to maintain it's sanity by suggesting more and more desperate options. THERE IS NO VALUE ADDED FOR ME when it takes me more to write the god damn input that it does to understand and solve the lesson. And I think they do not even have a Python compiler, it looks like it checks for the exact response. Also there are places were you can add multiple conditions and i am sure they do now allow you to put then in any order even if the result is the same.

But maybe my problem now is, i can't play it again, i don't know if that's a limit for free player, so we must buy premium's. Yeah, just it. Its a very intuitive app that's easy to understand and breaks down complex problems in an easy to understand way, making it one of the more user friendly ways of learning some of the more common languages. I've just started using this, so time will tell but it seems ok so far. Just a couple of observations: I am following the JavaScript course and it relies on "var" which I understand is being deprecated, so why teach people to code with it? Also, selecting characters is a bit of a nuisance. To enter "===" you have to keep scrolling left and right.

Great for beginners with no prior knowledge of the chosen subject. Only problem I really had was sometimes the answers were so simple I'd get stuck for ages assuming that it must be a trick question! There's a bit too much spoonfeeding of easy answers by filling in the blanks, whereas it needs a bit more of throwing you into a small real life problem to solve after a clear explanation of the topic/material that can be referred back to while you write your own code from scratch.
