Reviews From google play store

Updating for 2019. It seems to be working perfectly at least on my brand new laptop. Very happy with it, Everything updates within a second, to have a second at least on Wi-Fi. Don't really have any complaints on it. I also like how the image inside the app on the computer updates as well to your background on your phone.

Awesome app, but there is one thing missing ! 1st this is a really handy app too have one your phone where you can check your notification. But I have 2 computers and although this review would be a 5/5, it is missing the ability to switch from computer to computer. I us my surface pro 7 for mobility and when I get home I usually us my computer at home !! Microsoft please add multiple computer support to this app !!

I was in the verge of switching to Apple eco system and tried this app with my galaxy s10. Excited after I heard that MS is collaborating with Samsung to deliver this seamless experience. Bought Note 10 and the experience has been fantastic. Keep up the good work MS. Excited to see what the future holds.

This is a great app, and it's very freeing to be able to type text messages. However, refreshing the feed on the desktop app takes forever, and lately the phone app has started sucking down my battery by trying to connect even when I have wifi turned off. I think this will be a terrific app once it matures more, but I think for now I'm uninstalling.

I installed this app to sync my Edge bookmarks/favourites on my windows 10 laptop and phone. First, syncing favourites didn't work. I logged out and back in the MS account, and that solved the problem. Fortunately, the "Continue later" notification works perfectly. The second problem was the "Send to a to PC" button. I have tried sending links to my PC from both Chrome and Edge (the app finds my laptop) but it fails to send the link after I press the button. Please help, and I will rate 5*

Terrible app. Constant refreshes, install, uninstall, re-install. Doesn't matter. I'm using it with a Samsung Note 8. Notifications on the computer work occasionally and randomly despite multiple trouble shoots and above installs I've already mentioned. Nothing works and Microsoft help is, as always, useless. Makes me actually consider moving to Apple. Really hoping that when Samsung's Galaxy Book S comes out this will be integrated. In the meantime this garbage has been uninstalled

Never received the notification for linking to PC. Tried several times but not options either on PC or phone. I made sure all the things that may go wrong, from the help from. But still no response in connection. Later when I contacted Windows advisor online, he suggested me to clean all app data from Windows companion on my phone and reset Your Phone app on my computer. After few attempts it worked. Overall, the experience was tiring. The application has a limited access to features, only one can access messages, notifications and images. While there is no provision for calling support, it does not even show incoming calls notifications, No music playing from phone's library, no other apps accessibility; both the devices should be connected to same network i.e. it requires constant internet connection. This app is to get phone notifications mainly, one who constantly uses text message services and see photos from phone. One of the best feature is one can send a webpage to computer directly by share option, So one can continue working on a website switched to computer from phone. For the efforts only 3 star. Hope developer comes up with great features in future.

This app was great until a day or so ago. Now it says it's installed already on my system but I can't find it anywhere. If I go to Settings->Apps it shows it being there but only "Update" which I do and then "Uninstall". No "Open" anywhere except under Play Store -> Installed and then when you click it, it just takes you to the play installation rather than opening it and then the process all starts again. UPDATE: If using a Samsung S10+ you may have to do what I've just had to do and that is to use the Galaxy Store version of the app to start it. It then gives an option to enter you MS account and EVENTUALLY log in to get it working!

Worked for a while, then several hours of attempting to get it to work has failed. It was throwing errors about being unable to link to the phone, then after changing various things mostly In the phone, signing in to Microsoft account on both pc and phone, it just gets stuck at the point where you're supposed to "allow" the connection on the phone, but the panel to press an "allow" button on the phone never arrives in the phone. Just want to delete it all and walk away, can't figure that out e

Interesting experience from the app but the major let down happens to be that if you disconnect from the windows app for whatever reasons even after linking it again. Somehow or for whatever reason when pressing the icon of continue on PC just leads me back to "please link your PC and phone". Bear in mind that my phone and computer are already linked with the proper permissions asked by the app. I can see my messages on the laptop but can't continue on PC.

I kind of wish this app performed with fewer things impeding its operation, for example if you were to walk by your blue tooth enabled PC with your phone, not having to worry that the app won't automatically exchange data with no fuss, just seems more like how the app was intended to operate, but it struggles to do this.

Would be great if the desktop app didn't crash and automatically shut down every few seconds. Using with my Galaxy S7. Can hardly get a text message typed fast enough to hit send before it closes. And yes, I casually type about 70 wpm, so that's not the issue. :)

Worked for a few weeks, but now when I go to the Quick Settings button, which seems the only way to interact with it, to try to turn it on or go to its settings, it just says update needed. But when I hit update it just says cannot connect to server. Besides, it is already updated according to the store page. So at present it's useless. Update: that issue no longer happens. Four stars when more photos available. Five stars for file transfer.

I tried this because my Verizon Messages+ (that did the same thing) stopped working. This one used to work, then stopped, then spend an hour making it work again, then it stopped a few days later. Repeat, only now it won't work at all, no matter what. The old tricks aren't cutting it

App worked great until November and since then I can't get it to work. I have reinstalled on the PC and phone and they will not link up any more. nothing about my setup has changed, it's a pity because I was enjoying it while it worked.

This app is a multitaskers dream. It takes the hassle away from switching from your phone to PC for texts and calls and makes it simple to view and back up photos from your phone to PC. I have it 4 stars because I feel like this app is still in it's infancy. I've noticed a few glitches mostly with pairing issues. It's also not straight forward how to reset the connection between devices. I am thoroughly satisfied with this app and really excited for what this app will bring in the future.

Got new phone and all sorts of problems now. I reached out to your help and the person asked questions and no solutions and took forever. I just kept messing with it and researching on internet until I found a solution. I fixed it. But it was frustrating although when it works it is great!!!

This app is absolutely a let down. It takes forever to connect, when it does connect. 99% of the time it says "We can't connect to your phone" on the desktop. Also, my phone lasts me almost 3 days before I charge it. This app has drained 50% of my battery in the last 5 hours.

No-brainer idea, but has not consistently worked since I've installed it. Currently facing a "we can't connect to your phone" error for the last 3 days. Both programs are up to date. Needs to be stabilized, the app needs to be cleaned up as it's nothing more than ads for Microsoft apps which is distasteful. Then add truly actionable notifications and a "clear all" button. Or merge it with Windows Notification Center and make that useful.

Great app for notification management on the PC. But has a few shortcomings! 1. Please add a feature of bulk copying photos from phone to PC. 2. Also, please add the feature of copying photos, videos and other docs from PC to phone.

Really not a game charger. The way I see it, anytime they add a funtion to an app that lets you explore other apps.... they are just putting a bow on an ugly kid. Picture backup is everywhere you look and texting from my PC was a feature at&t offered 20 years ago. I'm still trying to a find use for it. Sure it's more of an utility than an app. I'd say it's free but we all know better than that. Deleting.

Well since the Windows Store app is the only way to obtain the companion app, and since the Windows Store is broken most of the time, I guess Ill need to seek out a different app to do the same thing. No biggie, Im sure there are hundreds. After all night of trying to get the Windows Store to download anything, Im done.

I have been trying to set this up but one obstacle after another keeps popping up. In addition my Google Play keeps sending messages interrupting the set up so I just gave up until something better comes along. This is so typical of Microsoft, nothing is easy with Windows. More and more I am tempted to get a Chromebook I simply cannot stand the frustration and aggravation with Microsoft anymore.

I have enjoyed using this app to view my messages, photos and notifications from my BlackBerry Key2 Android phone on my laptop! On several occasions, I have messaged (texted) friends from my laptop, in reponse to their messages received on my phone. This is an awesome feature! Additionally, I can review and respond from my laptop, to the many notifications received on my phone! Finally, I can view, edit, save & share from my laptop photos that I recently captured from the camera on my BB Key2.

Was working great but now when I'm on my laptop I don't get my message notification when I'm listening to my music with headphones the only way I know I have a text is by seeing my phone light up when I use to hear and see notification on my screen I haven't changed anything it just stop working I only get notifications if I text myself using my linked phone or by using my other phone to text but when someone else text me I don't get any notifications on my laptop at all no sound or nothing

Supposed to do 2 things, share photos to computer and allow sms from computer. After fall update doesn't work on both accounts. Also has a stupid persistent icon and drains battery quickly. This after waiting a year to launch. And now it's crapware. Couldn't get people to use it now you force people to use it. UNINSTALL! I don't use it and don't want another security hole on my phone but now I'm forced to have it on my phone.

It works, but sometimes it only shows the numbers and not the names from my contacts. Generally, it is very convenient to read texts on the monitor and answer to them on a physical keyboard. Suggestion: add the option to mute notifications temporary for all and for individual conversations. Especially group chats can become annoying, quickly.

When it works it works. When it doesn't which is 99% of the time you can forget about trying to get it to work. Phone won't connect to computer all of the troubleshooter nothing works wait for hours for it to send a notification and it just doesn't appear. It really is a waste of time app

This has been a really good app, but lately I have been having difficulties, it won't connect to my phone and the app doesn't open from my laptop. I need it to work so I can use references from my phone to draw, and idk how to fix it. Hopefully you'll respond soon! ,

I like the idea of syncing phone notifications but now I'm getting double skype notifications (turns out this can be fixed on the pc side rather than in the phone app). It also has a habit of relaunching itself when I try stop it running, if I hit disconnect to avoid battery drain I'd like it to stay that way till I next launch it, rather than it auto launching itself whenever it pleases

I like being able to use my main machine to control the phone. The VNC-esque module is icing on a cake. Friends and family will be "treated" to now overly verbose texts, unhindered by the slow, frustrating native phone inputs.

Well it was useful for responding to text messages by using a keyboard, which is faster. However, it now it does not work at all. On my PC, all I see is a blue loading screen and nothing else. I've updated, I restarted, and the app is useless now.

9/4 - Will not install on Note 10+ 5g. Highly disappointed! 11/19 - Finally got it to work. It was great. But then I had to move it over to different device and it shows that the device is connected, but it's really not connected. 😔 I'll keep troubleshooting.

Works great on my Windows surface the only issue I have is instead of using Androids base messagingto link text messages I wish you could choose which apps show messages as there are some contacts in the main messaging app in Android that I do not want to see. If you could choose which app displays your messages from your phone and uses the rules that that app displays it would be much better. I'm not referring to notifications you can customize which apps show you notifications. Not messaging

Several attempts to initiate the install on the PC using the instructions that said "launch the app we texted you", but there was no text. Had to go to the play store and install it from there, flying by the seat of my pants because the instructions are worthless and frustrating.

I've tried this app many times but, while it says it has connected properly with its PC counterpart, there has never been even a single case of anything showing up. The PC app never sees any of the photos, text messages, or notifications from the phone.

It doesn't allow me to use my corporate email. It asks for a Microsoft account only and there isn't the possibility to indicate which email it must use. When for business accounts? It will be nice the possibility to add corporate emails.

Not a bad start. Nice to get notifications on my PC. Need to be able to send/receive files, interact with more apps, and send/ receive messages and calls. But it works well as it is.

Really stable and reliable now. Finally does what it says on the tin! Was hit and miss for quite some time initially, but came good & had been reliable for months now, so I finally feel confident ditching other 3rd party solutions and using the one built into Windows 10.

Works just as well if not better than messages for your computer. It just makes things easier being able to send and receive at my PC when I'm working from home. I know there are other apps that have been able to do this for a while but using this app in conjunction with Windows 10 just seems to work seamlessly.

This app would be awesome, except my texts don't come through on my PC, and then days later they show up, but only a select few. I can text from the PC app, but can't use it 100% for my conversations. TL;DR: view texts on phone, respond on PC. What's the deal?

DO NOT think this app will allow you to access your Win 10 PC files from your Android phone. Which is what everyone wants. The Microsoft mindset has never been to provide what the customer wants. A simple app (not a remote connective link) that allows you to access your home PCs files will never be produced by MS.

Good idea, but buggy and unreliable. An SMS app with desktop sync would be preferable. Edit: I gave it another try, and it's improved a lot over the last couple months. Now it just needs the ability to paste images into a text message.

There are no options to make this app behave the way you want it to. I don't want to have it sync whenever it pleases on home network, I want it to sync when I choose or not at all depending. I will likely uninstall, there is literally no purpose for this app.

It's a great idea, and it's fantastic when it works. However, sometimes it refuses to sync with the pc. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for the latency. Other times it updates even before my phone vibrates. Dunno...

Not working with multiple computers basically makes this app useless compared to it's competitors. Adding support for multiple devices, and adding file transfer between devices would make this a solid app, but untill then there are better alternatives.

Would give it 5 stars.. if : a notification that states that the connection between the 2 devices has been lost when in fact both devices say its connected ..... I dont like notifications I cant get rid of by swiping them to either side ... I'm annoyed & its growing, quickly ................

There are some important features missing in this app. An option to disable automatic connection to desktop and an option to delete photos or messages from the desktop itself. It would be nice to send files via the phone app too.

Dreadful. I have a OP 7T Pro and fully updated i7 win10 pc. I have spent time following the instructions. It just won't work. Phone app just says Check your PC and the win app says we can't connect to your phone. I have high end decent kit and fast AC wifi. This shouldn't happen. Oh look this works... UNINSTALL

Shame on M/Soft - They would rather "help you connect" thousands of times rather than get off their lazy programming duff and fix the program so it works for everyone. Looking for other solutions to the problem - too bad we are ignored by their programmers..

it works great for sharing webpages to my PC and watching it automatically opening on the PC never gets old. The built in app store is lacking though. Some catagories have one or two apps. Some 3rd party apps wouldn't hurt. Thats what Google said

Broken. Got a Computer with the program on it and it says there a new update download now. Click download and no download is available on the Microsoft Store. I click the link at the bottom where is says "cant update now? Go to settings to link your phone and PC with limited funtionality" and my phone is link. App is asking me to log into PC to connect then fails. Says to open program to send notification and the circle begins all over again. Useless program and a waste of space on my PC.

I love this app this is one of the best apps i have saw in a long time by Microsoft in years glad that i fond it everyone needs this it helps when your online and dont want to go from your phone to you pc you have it all right in one place you just have to try it out for yourself but i think you will love it as much as me and my family is..

Your entry for "what's new" does not, in fact, provide a description of what is new in this update. It simply describes the purpose the app tries to accomplish. The "what's new" section is to inform consumers of exactly what is in the update.

This app was already installed on my phone when I bought it, so I'm STUCK with several other apps as well as this one........I DON'T WANT, I CAN'T GET RID OF & I have MEMORY SPACE I CAN'T CLEAR OUT. It would be AWESOME if the OWNER of the phone had CONTROL over the CONTENT of THEIR OWN PHONES!!! It's not only this one, it's MANY of them. If you want a good rating, MAYBE let people who OWN the phones to download or uninstall the apps that THEY want?? Just saying.

Oh wow. This app is super cool. Not sure yet how practical or useful it will be, but the integration was seamless and easy. Maybe I am just easily amused but it was really cool sending a webpage to my desktop. Hoping to find a way to directly share screen shots from my phone to PC in the same manner. :)

Make sure all setting on laptop are correct. There some sharing aspects you have to make sure are turned on. But once you do this app makes it so you leave you phone on the wireless charging pad by the door and don't have to pick up iij until you leave the house.

Nice when it connects and works, but is a constant struggle. Often will not connect, and drops randomly with my PC. The struggle (the time) it takes to connect/ reconnect eclipses all the productivity gains.

I really like this app and find it quite usefull. I would like to see an easier(quicker) way to switch between accounts though. Just a minor inconvenience, nothing to frett to much about.

Works less than half of the time. But when it does, I do get to see my phone notifications on my PC. Sadly, when I reply to SMS from my PC, my responses don't appear on my phone at all.

I would not even give 1 star except it wont allow that, both phone and laptop say they are connected, but, when I open the app it sends a permission request to the phone, the phone never receives the request, therefore it dont work.

Good for manually checking notifications while your phone is charging. There is no way to see the whole conversation in messaging apps. At least you can reply to messages.

Sometimes syncing up to send texts takes me two attempts after connecting. The desktop app should have a few more options to customize the layout/add apps to the side panel. Are work emails going to be allowed soon? I have a work phone + a work laptop that could use this

Too lazy to connect...... And a while after the phone locks, stops syncing (Please! I have Battery Optimizer disabled for both my phones. So don't make me with this solution.) - - - after all, a Microsoft product indeed! Bugs and slow performance is in its blood. 😂

Ice only been using a few days on my galaxy note 9 and it running great. I will give it a really good use and test over next few weeks- but as for now everything working as should be. It makes for a very simple and easy to use back up tool and share anything straight to your PC..

Didn't work. Couldn't get anything on my computer. I did go through the troubleshooting page. I can connect, but no texts or images would ever load. So it's worthless until it works.

It's more functional than poor Mac iCloud Microsoft is awesome thanks for bringing my New 2019-2020 year phone to Microsoft Windows 10 v1909 aka (CONSUMER BETA THAT WILL ONLY INCREASE NUMBERS EVER, But one app yall did great might make easier for some other cauae ur app success Wil be 67%

Not even letting me finish setup. I followed all the prompts and gave it exception to battery optimization. But getting to the final step where it doesn't send the notification with the final permission.

To complicated for most users who do not want to learn why it doesn't work. Hell with it " Uninstall " works everytime. Why do I have to give it even 1 star !!

I do not see how this is beyond a novelty. I could pick up my phone and see notifications. And I carry it around all day. The naming is a bit misleading. I fell for it after seeing so many downloads. Just not worth my time.

Worked a lot better than I thought. Great for checking notification updates on PC while phone is charging or not within arms reach. From what I hear in the future you will be able to make calls from your PC with this app.

I'm at retirement age and still amazed at what these devices are capable of doing with the right apps. This app is amazing to me! It does exactly what I need it to do! Amazing!!!

If the app had the option of screen mirroring on phones that have root permissions, it would be perfect. That's all that's Kelly it from being 5 stars.

Sucks most of the time. I plug my unlocked android phone into USB and the PC does not recognize it, even though the app says the phone and PC are linked. No settings or troubleshooting choices.

This app is a great move for mobile-pc connectivity but needs a lot features still. The one which will be loved by everyone is the file sharing option just like shareit with one tap connectivity for large files transfer.

Great when it work but it usually doesn't. The only resolution I've found is to reinstall and reconfigure the phone app. Frequently.

So far, I only hate that this is the stuff that we demanded when we could buy a window phone, and not be subjects to Google's consistent breaches of Privacy. That and stream media/music from PC to phone would be sweet.

Good job by Microsoft, here there must a discounted button or option inside the app. Overall the app works fine in desktop and you don't need to look the phone for the notification triggers.

This is an awesome first step. Thanks Microsoft! What would be great is to be able to select multiple pics for download/ save as. Please do this going forward.

Absolutely amazing! Allows me to connect my phone to my laptop and get info from one another. Plus, it's free!

Cannot find "allow" to get notifications. There is no "pop-up" after I select the Your phone companion app. On the PC there was no "Get started" selection.

Doesn't always connect to pc. Ans somtime connects for a while then disconnects and wont re connect unit a pc restart. Great ap when its working and connected. Now just doesn't work at all.

It's an amazing app. I can do everything on my phone from my laptop, even phone calls with my galaxy earbuds on. I love it!!!!!

Messages composed on pc sometimes don't send. Prompts about account then disappear. Number on app but nowhere to go to resolve. Great concept. Sadly a work in progress

When it works, it's brilliant! Unfortunately more often than not it completly fails to connect and the only way to solve it seems to be rebooting all involved devices..

i want these features in this app: - -have ability to universal clipboard like macos - have ability to direct camera launch by computer - we r huge fan of windows but in this time.. we really need a seemless integration between pc and phone .. Microsoft ❤️

Easy to use. Excellent when home for texts being able to use a full size keyboard. Links to my pc as soon as I turn it on.

Worked a few weeks ago. Now broken comm with pc. Can't fix it. Stalls at 90%.

Only scratched the surface but I like the way it integrates with sms/mms. Since it's a Droid is not going to integrate like a Windows phone, but I'll take what I can get.

Keeps disconnecting and the PC says, " We can't connect to your phone." It's great when it works but probably down 80%.

Finally working smoothly! Much more responsive (also referring to the PC counterpart). Only wish it would mark messages as read once you reply to them.

It was cool in the beginning, but it's so lacking in features, linking my phone via a website is far better in EVERY way.

Won't send the notifications to my phone to allow connectivity after a windows system restore. Tried resetting both windows and Android apps but still no luck. Their troubleshooting page is useless

Doesn't work, I updated my Samsung s10 plus to android 10. Now it downst work. Link to windows ask's me to uodate. When I click update, it says cannot connect server. Try Again!

Good, but buggy, I got the app but have issues when it comes to using it over 2 different PC's. Hopefully future updates fix this issue.

App frequently loses contact with phone for days - uninstalling and installing to no avail. When it works it's lovely, but it's unstable and undependable.

I found this app extremely useless. It had to be something more than simple photo, messages and notification preview from phone. Feels like another garbage either on my PC and Phone... shame Microsoft.

Can't see any messages, photos, or notifications on Windows. Can't believe a big name like Microsoft can't get developing software right. Such a shame!

Great thought but reqs restarting pc frequently. When i dont use for awhile and come back to the pc, pc wont connect without a reset. Yes, i have battery save off.

Makes life alot easier being able to communicate and have my phone and computers connected. Learning how to utilize it still and connect all my devices. Slowly but surely.
