L’application Météovergne est mise à jour par un prévisionniste météo auvergnat indépendant et passionné dont l’entreprise est située à Laqueuille (63). Elle se distingue de la grande majorité des applications météo par l’engagement humain qu’elle représente avec des mises à jour 365 jours par an (prévisions expertisées). Le prévisionniste a également à cœur d’effectuer un travail de terrain, pour conforter prévisions et observations, après expertise des modèles numériques pour la réalisation des prévisions. En juin 2020, cette application comptait 1300 abonnés, dont une majorité de fidèles depuis son lancement en 2017.

Cet outil a pour but de vous maintenir informé des conditions météorologiques en cours et à venir dans le massif du Sancy & la chaîne des Puys. D’autres secteurs seront proposés à l’avenir. Cette application est destinée à un très large public, que vous soyez un pratiquant assidu de la montagne, un randonneur occasionnel, un agriculteur, un professionnel dont l’activité dépend de la météo, ou encore un curieux sensible aux évolutions du temps. L'objectif est aussi, à travers les prévisions et observations, de favoriser la connaissance et la compréhension des phénomènes météorologiques complexes à l'œuvre dans nos massifs.

Météovergne propose ainsi des prévisions météo expertisées, devenues absentes pour nos montagnes depuis quelques années avec l’abandon par Météo-France. Un prévisionniste référent et disponible vous tiendra informé des conditions et des évolutions attendues. C'est cette valeur ajoutée qui différencie cette application météo, d'autres, qui sont automatisées.

La prévision météo est abondante sur Internet et via les applications smartphones « par défaut ». Mais il faut savoir que la quasi-totalité de ces prévisions est automatisée, c’est-à-dire qu’elles sont issues de modélisations sans expertise humaine. On se retrouve ainsi avec des prévisions qui auraient pu être justes si elles avaient été expertisées, ce qui est frustrant, à la fois pour le « météo-sensible » et les prévisionnistes (dégradation de l’image de la prévision météo et de la profession).

Une prévision expertisée implique ainsi une application des connaissances et du savoir-faire du prévisionniste, et notamment sa connaissance du terrain. Dans le massif du Sancy et la chaine des Puys, les différences entre les versants et les altitudes sont souvent remarquables (inversions de températures, vent violent sur les crêtes, précipitations très localisées mais abondantes, effet de foehn…).

Cette application permet également de distinguer précision et fiabilité : vous ne trouverez pas de prévisions horaire par communes. Il s’agirait alors de prévisions automatisées qui n’apporterait aucune valeur supplémentaire à ce qui est déjà disponible sur Internet. La recherche de précision est un leurre si la fiabilité est médiocre. Météovergne est là pour exprimer la fiabilité d’une prévision.
The Météovergne application is updated by an independent and passionate Auvergne weather forecaster whose company is located in Laqueuille (63). It differs from the vast majority of weather applications by the human engagement it represents with updates 365 days a year (expert forecasts). The forecaster is also keen to carry out fieldwork, to support forecasts and observations, after appraising digital models for forecasting. In June 2020, this application had 1,300 subscribers, the majority of whom were loyal since its launch in 2017.

The purpose of this tool is to keep you informed of current and future weather conditions in the Sancy massif & the Puys range. Other sectors will be offered in the future. Météovergne thus offers expert weather forecasts, which have been absent for our mountains for a few years with the abandonment by Météo-France. A referent and available forecaster will keep you informed of the expected conditions and developments. It is this added value that differentiates this weather application from others, which are automated.

The weather forecast is abundant on the Internet and via “default” smartphone applications. But you should know that almost all of these forecasts are automated, that is to say that they come from models without human expertise. We are thus left with forecasts that could have been correct if they had been appraised, which is frustrating, both for the “weather-sensitive” and forecasters (deterioration of the image of the weather forecast and of the profession ).

An expert forecast thus involves applying the knowledge and know-how of the forecaster, and in particular his knowledge of the terrain. In the Sancy massif and the Puys range, the differences between the slopes and the altitudes are often remarkable (temperature inversions, strong wind on the ridges, very localized but abundant precipitation, foehn effect, etc.).

This application also makes it possible to distinguish precision and reliability: you will not find an hourly forecast by municipality. It would then be an automated forecast which would add no additional value to what is already available on the Internet. The search for precision is a decoy if reliability is poor. Météovergne is there to express the reliability of a forecast.
