Growing up with Kyodai Mahjong in the early 2000s, I've been spoiled. Mahjong is an entire experience for me - everything has to be aesthetically tailored: sound, music, visuals, everything. This is the closest to that beautiful childhood experience that I've found as far as phone mahjong goes. I don't really pay attention to time or scores, so that system doesn't mean much to me: I'm just here to relax.

Nice: large, crisp graphics; fast game response; plethora of patterns. Except: having a fast, non-mutable timer (minus one star - I HATE timers on casual games) and ads without a means to remove them (also minus one star). I had hopes for this better-than-average Mahjongg version, even with the fairly unobtrusive ads, but the timer killed it for me. Uninstalled.

THE best mahjong app out there. It's free, the title sets are easy to read, and there's no annoying animations. Ads do play every 2 games, but it's always every 2 games so you know when ads are coming and they are only 5 seconds. I tried at least 8 others but this one is definitely the best. I normally don't write reviews, but this game deserves it!

Pass or fail works better than giving stars. It's not relaxing at all to go speed demon just to get three stars. I hate the time limits on puzzles. We have a lot of interruptions in our lives from every direction and it's nice to be able to look away for a sec. and then continue on. I like everything else , there are lots of different tiles, I like the colors but the rest of it needs some going over.

If you are looking for a mahjong game that is relaxing, this is NOT the one for you or me. If you like getting all 3 stars on every board, be prepared to spend your time replaying & replaying & you guessed it... replaying the same board. It appears that the timer is very quick & the game requires about 1minute45sec or less to get all 3 stars. I play mahjong games a lot & I am far from slow, but this game is ridiculously fast. Uninstalling due to the anxiety

Extremely infuriating playing against a timer. I've looked everywhere...there's no way to turn it off! It states there is no time limit!! That's a LIE!!! ALSO you get a time penalty for a shuffle or a ..... Extremely stressful. I'm sooo done with this app! UNINSTALLING!! Also when I did complement the game mo's ago, never heard one peep from the dev's. 🙁 So much for high praise. Jessie UPDATE on 12.20.19. Still no reply. What's up with that?!!!

Mahjong Gold is a tile matching game. It is very simple to understand, but that doesn't mean it is too easy or for babies. There are a lot of rounds and levels. Even if you can beat all the rounds in a specific level, let's see you beat every round in that level wth 3 STARS!!!
