MacroDroid is the easiest way to automate your daily tasks on your Android smartphone or tablet. Via the smart user interface MacroDroid offers a simple solution to make automated tasks on your device in just a few taps.

MacroDroid helps you by automating the activities you did manually before, and customize them in a way that works for you. A few examples of how MacroDroid can help you to get automated:

# Optimize your daily workflow on your phone; switch on bluetooth and start playing music when you enter your car. Or switch on WiFi when you are near your house.
# Reduce battery drain (like dimming your screen and switching Wifi off)
# Saving on roaming costs (automatically switch off your Data)
# Increasing safety during commuting by reading your incoming notifications (via Text to Speech) and sending automated responses via email or SMS
# Make custom sound and notification profiles.
# Remind you to do certain tasks using timers and stopwatches.

These are just a few examples out of limitless scenarios where MacroDroid can make your Android life a little easier. With only 3 simple steps this is how it works:

1. Select a Trigger.

The trigger is the cue for the macro to start. MacroDroid offers over 70 triggers to start your macro, i.e. location based triggers (like GPS, cell towers, etc), device status triggers (like battery level, app starting/closing), sensor triggers (like shaking, light levels, etc) and connectivity triggers (like Bluetooth, Wifi and Notifications).
Macros can be triggered automatically, but it is also possible to create a shortcut on the homescreen of your device or start using the unique and customizable Macrodroid sidebar.

2. Select the Actions you like to automate.

MacroDroid can perform over 100 different actions, that you typically would do by hand. Connect to your Bluetooth or Wifi device, select volume levels, speak text (like your incoming notifications or current time), start a timer, dim your screen and many more.

3. Optionally: Configure Constraints.

Constraints help you to let the macro fire only when you want it to.
Living near your work, but only want to connect to your company's Wifi during work days? With a constraint you can select specific times or days that the macro can be invoked. MacroDroid offers 50 constraint types like: battery level, connected devices, time and day constraints, headphones insterted and many more.

For beginners

MacroDroid's unique interface offers a Wizard that guides step by step through the configuration of your first macros.
It is also possible to use an existing template from the template section and customize it to your needs.
The built-in forum allows you to get help from other users, allowing you to easy learn the ins and outs of MacroDroid.

For more experienced users

MacroDroid offers more comprehensive solutions like the use of plugins, system/user defined variables, scripts, intents, advance routing like IF, THEN, ELSE clauses, use of AND + ORs

The free version of MacroDroid allows you to configure up to 5 macros. The Pro version (a small one time fee) unleashes the full power of MacroDroid and lets you create an unlimited amount of macros.

Reviews From google play store

Edit: I launch the script using a shortcut. On top of that, the app is not battery optimized, but yet my scripts won't run. I created a few scripts before I decided to buy the app, but it seems that the scripts stopped working after a few days. Not sure what is the probelm. I am using Android 10. I am holding my purchase now.

This app should come pre-installed on phones, it's that important. It makes my phone SO much more useful and gives me so much power to customize it to suit my needs. I didn't know I needed this app until I found it. I'll be recommending this to everyone I know. Edit: By the way, the price is a bargain! I would gladly pay 10x more. Well worth it.

The Best. Things that I have done with this app is some thing beyond imagination . I have used Webhook urls to pass variables using browser to send whatsapp, messenger, sms text. And also used received notification trigger to get my messages emailed to me as a screenshot. Enabling me to use my messeging apps and stay in touch with people even when I dont have my mobile with me and that also not using my company email there by breaking the rule. So this is a major tool that u can ever get.

App is awesome and easy to use. UI is self explanatory and navigation is super easy. Compare to similar apps i use this one is very intuitive. While other apps allow some even much complicated task, this one is more than enough for most of the task I need. One does not need to be geek to use this one. Separating Trigger, Action and Constrain makes creating macro simple. I was gonna suggest to allow custom name for each step but then I realized I can add comment to each step. awesome👍

Nice interface, user friendly, many options. I love it. Purchased the pro version the same day I installed it. The app has a lot of potential to turn your device into a power house. Great job to the developers.

Quick to learn if you've ever used logic to complete a task before, whether in a programming language or in every day life. Its simple layman's language and user interface make it a powerful, infinitely useful software. If you want to tweak your phone your way MacroDroid is awesome!

Used as a replacement for timerriffic. This was the only one of the tasking apps I could make sense of. It could do a lot more but I am just using it to make the phone silent at certain times.

Fantastic app! Way more robust than IFTTT and far easier to use than any other similar app. I really appreciate the non-root work arounds when possible. Kudos!

💯HIGHLY 💕RECOMMENDABLE-🎁FEATURE REQUEST: 1) Ability to play an outgoing Sound when SENDING Text or Email messages-2) App DND Mode for overnight/custom time-👍Awesome App-Developement and Maintenance-It Replaced my Galaxy Notifications app- And various other Notifications speaking apps-Like Shouter and Voice Phone-Thnx!🍁#msmb

Awesome! Stopped Google music from opening, and opens my Jetaudio music player when connected to my Bluetooth devices properly every time now. Better than any other connect app one tried.

Love this app so much! Would it be possible to add a keyboard key input as a trigger? (for USB/Bluetooth connected keyboards). That would be amazing. Thanks for the great app!

Nice idea, but too unreliable. I've created a few simple macros to change sound levels depending on location (using cell towers) and time. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. They work fine if I manually "test actions". Otherwise it's a matter of luck. Sometimes I find that MacroDroid is turned off (the switch at the top right of the main screen), though the notification icon is still being displayed. A couple of macros suddenly disappeared, so that I had to create them again. It may be some kind of problem with android 9, or device brand (OnePlus3), but still, I'd prefer to get a more reliable app for my money.

Amazing app! Just created a macro to start my car every morning before work, so I walk into a warm car in cold Canada weather!

Very user friendly, insane range of options. You can make your phone do almost anything you want it to. Amazing.

The idea of the app is amazing, the end result is great too! But there is one drawback to it (at least for me): whenever I close the app, my volume keys become inoperable. A quite annoying way to fix this: settings->accessibility->macrodroid volume button monitor ->disable->enable and then it works. I don't know if this happens on all devices but it is quite frustrating. So please, if you have the time and energy would you be so kind and try to address this issue? Thanks in advance.

Most user friendly out of all the automation apps, great to control my lights based on gestures and turn off lock screen/silence when I arrive home.

I think 75% of the reviews I read are BS. But I just installed and then bought the premium version of MacroDroid and was able to accomplish in 5 minutes what I had been trying for the past two days to do with Tasker. Don't get me wrong, Tasker has its place. As for the laymen, I will take MacroDroid anytime. Plain language and a beautiful easy user interface make this THE app for fans of automation who don't have a master's degree in computer science.

I used to use a really old and simple app (as old as KitKat) just like this one for a simple task: toggle music when connecting/disconnecting a headphone. Saddly, Android started to change with time, many functions of the app started to break and finally the app died. This is the only app I have found that keeps that simplicity and is constantly fixing its functionality despite all Google's new rules and limitations. Thanks for the hard work and have a nice day!

Best automation app ever. It helps in so many ways and it's easy to setup. I highly recommend macrodroid

A Billion times easier to use than tasker!! ... took me under 2 minutes to set it up so as when I get in my car and put my phone in the wireless charging dock, the Wi-Fi on my phone disconnects and hooks immediately up to my android head unit by Hot Spot. Then when I take the phone from the cars wireless charging dock, my phone automatically shuts down the Hot Spot and turns on its Wi-Fi again. PERFECT!!! MacroDroid does all the work for you.. Many Thanks to Development team 👍

App is great, i use it to control my phone with nfc tags, works just as it should, and developer is really helpful

Took some time deciding on which macro app to use but certainly made the right choice. Like any macro app there is a bit of learning but it excels for me

I love this app, and got the paid version over a while back... I mainly got it so that the Hot Spot feature gets enabled automatically once my car's bluetooth is connected to the phone. With Android 9, this no longer works (in the SDK, startTether()) no longer works (cannot be invoked). I hope there will be a fix for this soon?

This is exactly what I was looking for, an easy way to turn on car mode, WiFi hotspot and Bluetooth to connect with new car stereo at the touch of a button. And turn it all off again just as easily. Bought the full paid version after playing with it for 30 minutes. I will find more taxing jobs for it to do. But for now I am overjoyed that I got this after hours of trawling through the play store trying other apps that's didn't come close to what I wanted. Five stars 👍

I've been having issue lately with it's auto sms sending feature. The day and time trigger works just fined but the sms simetime is sent too later than normal. The sms will be SENT more than 10 minutes from it's trigger time. I noticed that it happens when the phone is not in use but if the macro triggers while I'm using the phone, it works just fine.

Just awesome, just copied all my macros to my new phone. They all work great. Still great geo location triggers. I use for flashlight control, for messaging when arriving location's. A send to all macro across social media platforms. Plus smartwatch, dynamic sound management of phone. Including rules for when they pair, and sound settings

Buy the pro version, you will not be disappointed. Some things don't work without root but it's still incredibly useful. I use this to remind me to drink every hour. MD tells me when to unplug my phone (85% for battery longevity). When to charge the phone. With a tap of a button it toggles wifi, bt, display brightness, volume - I have several profiles set up for home, car, work etc.

I love this app. It's super easy to set up a macro and there are a lot of things you can do. You can just take an hour or two and read through everything with their helpful descriptions. The pro version is definitely worth it. I use it as a tool and also just messing with my friends sending them random parameters at random times. You can also download macros that other people have made which I have used as templates to do other things. Super worth it, everybody should have this app.

I have been using this app for a few months now, and it worked great. Maybe because my phone is now running Android 10, or maybe it's something else, but MacroDroid is not able to enable WiFi. Bluetooth, apps ... all work fine though. Is that expected or did I find a bug?

Great app with pro I got unlimited macros I can spam my friends with 20 messages with the click of a button I can do so many useful settings in real world situations like when I got to 30 % or whatever I choose I can auto go to power save mode and save my battery for the rest of the day or I can send a message I'd somebodys phone goes to far or to close to mine. Great app would recommend.

Just 1 issue...removing app from "recent apps list" cause "Keepalive task removed"...Which disturbs "Interval" trigger while other features are working...Only "Interval" trigger affected by it... I exclude macrodroid from battery saver and provide it all necessary permissions but still not fixed... And my macrodroid notification is also active. I think "Interval" trigger should work as reference to the last active macro time which can be seen from app.It working reference to restarting app log.

Love this app to death. I used to get dozens of unsolicited and unwarranted calls per day and with this they all go to voicemail. I also have other macros set up that if they connect to my car or my headsets it will launch my audiobook. I do not leave many reviews but for this application I will. To support the developer and unlock more macros I paid the $3.49 to unlock for life. if you have a Android phone and hate unsolicited phone calls this is the app for you.

Android 10 broke my do not disturb while driving, this fixed it! Created a macro for when connected to Bluetooth.

Sound stream is not working on any of the output modes.

I've used Tasker for years until things started acting up in me with Android 9... So i gave this app a try after trying ifttt and another. This app is by far superior to all of them. MUCH easier to add automation to your phone than Tasker, and does far more than the weak ifttt app. Loved it so much i bought the pro version. Great app, thank you!

Wanted an app where I could automate my always on display on my pixel 4 to turn off in a dark room. Set the light sensor level and display off as triggers. Set action to turn off always on display. Had to setup further app access with adb but if you're automating Android tasks, then that step isn't too advanced. Works flawlessly.

Used to work before I updated to Android 10. *Edit* fair enough. The latest fingerprint gesture to brighten and darken screens, with the required permissions doesn't work. Shake device in a dark device to use as a flashlight/torch doesn't work. Recognizing clipboard copied text to as a trigger to bring up a prompt/website doesn't work.

Android Pie: please improve event "application closed". It notices this event even if I only went to the homescreen for many apps, such as rotation control, bitdefender, kinscreen, powerline, netguard. For applications with a persistent notification I can add a constraint for this app's notification not being present.

Very Helpful! Helped me automate tasks and read out messages!

I am having a lot of fun with Macrodroid. I've gotten my phone to do all sorts of cool stuff using it. I'm constantly thinking of new ideas for using Macrodroid. I think I have an actual problem. :D

This app adds power to your mobile and it's packed with features. It's amazing what this app can do! One suggestion is to add a gesture recorder to be used as a trigger ;) Kudos to the developer!

Really useful and adaptable. It's allowed me to get even more productivity out of my phone and render a few old apps redundant in the process. Money well spent.

Can't believe how good this is! Great interface, easy to use, very powerful. An online repo of examples so you can modify other peoples work and see what can be done. MacroDroid is what Tasker, Automate, and IFTTT wish they were.

Works again. /// The latest update broke the hotspot on/off function the only function I use... Android 10. It worked fine even on Android 10 and the trigger is still detected only the action does not work.

The app is very useful. The interface is easy to use. The tie in to forums is great and easy to use. The template stock is thorough and it appears the app is updated regularly which is wonderful.

Best automation app! I've tried Tasker but it was a bit complicated to use and I didn't like that I had to download another app as a plug-in in order to write secure settings permissions.

Really so good. Lot of features can easily automate most of the works. If roots device means there are tons of features available. Great application...

Great app, working very well. The biggest thing I would add is a touch screen pinpoint function. It would make make finding touch points much easier. Overall a 9 out of 10 for awesome phone automation.

Highly useful and easy to use customization app that keeps getting better with each update. I recommend this app to all

Simply the best automation app! I'm using 14 macros at the moment. Every single one is working perfectly. Templates are easy to reach within the app. Great

Excellent app! I've been using it for several years now and have had very few issues with it during that time. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Allows you to customize individual multiple notifications containing a (word) even from the same app to be (read out loud) to what (you) would like it to say!!!

Freaking amazing! I was looking for a way to have my phone automatically let in the amazon delivery guy into my apartment when he buzzed. I got that working and so much more. So many options!

This is a wonderful little app that is so powerful. What it can make your device do is fantastic.

Excelent. I liked it more than Tasker and IFTTT - more intuitive interface, easier configuration and it just works. Great job.

Superb. Set up a phone for my aged mum. This has solved sooo many issues, all in the one package!

After update 18 September. Mobile hot-spot does not work. Worked before update... Galaxy Note10 plus. Can't to turn on automaticly.

When I want to take a photo when my password is entered incorrectly the phone does some vierd stuff the lock screen goes away and comes back after 1 second. P30 LITE

works as expected, if there are issues they are definitely regarding the OS and its energy savings which depend on the manufacturer

Last update broke, screen is locked constraints

Edit: Works after the update. Thank you for the quick update! Original: Crashes in Android 10 Pixel 3 after late Sept 2019 update. Does not work.

So far so good; bought the paid one because 5 macros weren't enough for me and I'm very satisfied. If your phone is rooted, even better (mine isn't).

Hey guys.. I updated to the latest version and now the app doesn't launch. Keeps crashing.. please help.. How do I reach out to you? I love this app! EDIT: fixed in! Yesss!

New update just now 9/24 causing app crashes. Can't open it up to even save my settings! Edit: all fixed now! Great!

Awesome little app. Never failed me. Always works. Negligible battery usage.

Fixed rolled out 10 mins after reporting crash. Fantastic. Love this software.

Superb. Was 4 stars, now it is 5 stars as the app is excellent and the dev responds immediately.

In my opinion, it is better than tasker!

May I request that the pop-up message feature let you also change the colour of the text, as well as the background colour.

Really good help to automate many tasks. Great app.

So much easier to use then tasker Also gives you options to overwrite permission if you can't root your device

Amazing, please add a possibility to change keyboard without all other keyboard are getting turnes off when changing default keyboard

it just works. easy to navigate and powerful. don't even try the competition!

One of the best automation app after llama... Tasker are to complicated for me

I like the idea and interface but it didn't work for me (answering call with volume button) on MIUI 10, redmi note 7

Staff is a bit rude but the app is good. I just asked a question about autoclicker and they are saying that i should not cheat. It's not cheating(i wanna use it in minecraft and the company that created the game literally allows it). I am asking because a website said i could find autoclicker here and it looked a bit official.

Awsome app made my life much easy. I jave automated lots of tasks I use to do daily.

Fantastic and powerful automation tool! Each person's mileage will vary due to device limitations, and some of the actions have simply not worked for me, but it works be almost impossible for any app to account for every quirk of every Android device, so I don't hold that against the app. For what I have been able to accomplish, as someone with zero programming experience, I'm very happy with this tool. My only gripe is that documentation and definitions are lacking in some areas.

I love this app. Please add more functions to do more things with files 💟, delete contents and etc? 🥺

I downloaded it 4 weeks ago and now i have uninstalled it 5 TIMES!!!! This has got to be a virus coz i dont even have the option to uninstall it.

Very useful and cool automations. Works reliably.

Excellent app that helps you make your device more useful

Great app to customize features to your needs. Very easy to use. No need to hassle with complex programming to achieve complex results. I use it to do reminders and sms to people, connect to Bluetooth when in the car otherwise shutdown the Bluetooth to save battery. It has a lot of options to create useful features in a simple way.

Excellent app. You can make everything you think

I had a similar app but it stopped working months ago. After installing, I'm vary happy with this new device automatic app. I'm ok with paying the small $3 to help the developer. Keep up the great work.

I've been using this app for well over 3 years. Not once has it ever failed me. I upgraded long long ago and I don't regret my purchase. As a suggestion, it would be awesome if the appp allowed the user to create multiple notification channels to have different notifications for every macro. Play sound doesn't quite cut it for me.

I've been using MacroDroid for a few months now, and it's been working great for my needs. Previously I was using apps like Agent, Trigger, and Tasker, but the first two apps are no longer being developed and Tasker is a bit difficult to work with on an infrequent basis. I like how easy it is to work with MacroDroid to create new macros and the developer is very active and constantly making improvements. I highly recommend this app for those who want more automation for the Android device.

I installed this to replace Tasker. The macros are OK to set up however I had issues with "Forum" (user group) and troubleshooting specifically. There is NO way to see if a trigger is firing without looking at the log. You can test actions but not triggers. I worked around it with sounds and alerts but it took several days. It's still not right. "Forum" to me was cumbersome to find anything applicable and I still don't know what to do with the link to download a profile. I am making it work.

As simple or as complicated as you want it to be. I have big memory problems, and for me, this app allows me to customise my tablet and phone, from notification buttons for easy access to personalised settings (modes etc.), reminders and prompts when I need them to automatically turning off' mobile data when I connect to my wifi, as i never remember. Even I, with no programming experience can do a lot now, learnt through trial and error and reading macros published by others.

One of the best of its kind, and much easier to use than eg Tasker. Wish community or dev shared more useful examples, it's much easier to adapt than create your own.

One app to rule them all! Regained automatic battery level check to enable/disable Battery Saver Mode. Automatically turn off Battery Saver when using Android Auto (to avoid Gps bug). Send's my wife a text when I leave the office (but only at after 5pm) , and again when I make it halfway home. Turn off wifi when connected to car, and back on when I disconnect from car. All this is WITHOUT ROOTING PHONE!

This app was my favorite app by far. It's only limit goes as far as your imagination. Sadly Android now requires location services to be turned on for triggers to fire. I don't feel comfortable with my location services to always be on, but if I can figure out a way around this, I'll post the result and up my ratting. Stupid Android!!!😡

Loving this app. Have set up a few macros which use notifications to trigger IFTTT applets and operate smart gadgets (lights, smart plugs, air-con, etc.). Hasnt skipped a beat (until IFTTT updated to their lateat version [v4.0.0], but a quick revert back to v3.7.6 fixed everything. Very easy to use, and the ADB hack was easy to apply.

Wow, I mean wow! I love this app. My phone and watch and car and tablets have all had some useful macro written for them. The original one was just to turn off my car tablet when the ignition was off. So easy to do, and cheaper than specific apps to do this in the store. Thanks.

I've been a long time user of Tasker, and have always found its UI to be confusing and clunky. MacroDroid is the very opposite of that! It's UI is clean and easy to understand, and it does most of what Tasker does, including supporting its plugins. If you're a hardcore users of Tasker, I probably wouldn't bother switching.

I particularly like being able to use app open and close triggers to set things like screen rotation, wifi toggle {ad free gaming) and file management (moving an app's produced files from the internal SD to an external SD when app closes). It also allowed me to override the system's default screen dimming on low battery level, adding hours to my usable screen time. I'm not a code head but I found it extremely easy to write the macros I need on my own. Forums very friendly and supportive.

Works ok, but had a recent issue where it was constantly and relentlessly trying to enable wifi. Only had 2 macros and none of them related to wifi. Annoying, it wouldnt desist so uninstalled.

The lay out of this app is so nice and neat and clean that I underestimated how much knowledge I needed to properly use it haha. I'm sure it works really well for someone who knows what they are doing. The developer was nice enough to make a suggestion on what I could use and tell me why it wasn't working for me. There are tasks that everyone can do with this app though so Ill probably keep it anyway. It seems useful and cool maybe one day Ill actually learn how to use it to its full potential

I never rate apps but this one warrants it, works really really well for automating tasks and repeat app tests and for date swipe app botting for those with a lazy tendency 😉 only request I would really like though is the ability to set an int variable in the time delay options and in the settings for where locations and gestures are done, so I can vary where taps go realistically like a human

I've tried pretty much every automation app out there: Tasker, Automagic, Automate, and this one. MacroDroid is the most user friendly and reliable yet has functionality close to Tasker. That's not to say it is perfect but it's better than the alternatives so i give it 5 stars.
