KUDA Master Plan 2041

The Government of Telangana has envisioned in 2014 to transform the State into Golden Telangana (Bangaru Telangana). The government has been implementing a number of development activities towards accomplishing the vision - Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Affordable Housing (2BHK), Entrepreneur friendly investment climate through New Industrial Policy, State Strategic Road Development Programme, Decentralised governance through creation of smaller districts, focusing on developments in second and third tier urban centres in the State and so forth.

In this journey of transformation, the Government of Telangana envisions to develop Kakatiya (Warangal) Development Area1 as the “Second major economic hub of Telangana state”. Warangal is known as Cultural Capital of Telangana State. A number of economic and infrastructure development initiatives are envisaged for Warangal Development Area since 2014 besides Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, and Affordable Housing (2BHK). It includes the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, 4 laning of NH 163, IT SEZ Madikonda, Warangal Outer Ring Road (ORR), Leather Park, Hyderabad-Warangal Economic Corridor, Sainik School and International Sports Complex. Further, Warangal has been implementing three Government of India’s programmes HRIDAY, AMRUT and Smart City. Warangal also receives a budgeted amout of 300 crores form the State Govenrment for development of its basic infrastructure. In the process of making 2nd major economic hub of the state, Government of Telangana, through Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) has prepared The Master Plan for the Kakatiya (Warangal) Development Area. The Master Plan is a comprehensive statutory plan aiming for sustainable development of its 1805 sq.km area to the horizon year of 2041. The preparation of Master Plan was initiated in June 2017 and Draft Master Plan has been notified in May 2018 in accordance to the provisions of Telangana Urban Areas (Development) Act 1975.
