It needs improvements. I bought the speaker yesterday, paired it, downloaded software. Had to unpair in order to let the software detect the speakers itself.Used it and turned it off in the evening. This morning, turned it back on, no way it would even dare reconnect or recognize. Had to uninstall app and start all over again. Annoying. Besides that, the sound is great though.

When I first got it, I had to pair my speaker to the app and not through Bluetooth. I had to keep connecting and disconnect while turning the Bluetooth off and on for it to recognize the speaker it was in front of. It was a pain. By a random miracle, it finally connected. The app isn't very useful it's a feature they didn't put a whole lot of thought into. If you turn it up all the way and your phone, both on max, it focuses more on the bass than the performer and turns them down.

The app is very difficult to connect to and doesn't actually offer many if any benefits over not using the app at all. If a few things were fixed and added this app would be great but I've been waiting for a while and none of the issues have ever been addressed.

This app is terrible I go from listening to Spotify pandora to being unable to connect if I'm listening to the radio why do we need an app if it has radio tuning already poor design and useless I will return the pathfinder since it is now useless. So reading some additional reviews I was able to connect with Bluetooth without app. Scan and pair to device pathfinder 4.

Terrible app and can't play music though this stupid app. They want location as well. Don't buy any of these speakers. Actually returned speaker due to this app. This app makes the speaker not work, that added a step though bluetooth. Apsolutly garbage. Can't hook up 2 phones to it. Bluetooth says it connected but app won't play music. How do you break something as simple as a Bluetooth speaker? Add an app to it.

I have no problems with mine. If you're having problems you must be doing it wrong. FIRST thing you need to do is HIT THE BLUETOOTH BUTTON on the speaker. Then 2 different options will appear to select from in your bluetooth. Your options will be..... 1.PARTY BOOM FX 2.PARTY BOOM FX BLE The first one is if you don't have or want this app. The second one is for app. AFTER you connect to bluetooth then OPEN YOUR APP. Pretty simple.

The App doesn't do much. Granted im only using it with 3 solar Rock speakers so there are no lights to control but really, why not make the app control linking the speakers? The buitton sequences you have to remember and execute each time can be maddening. Not hard mind you, but an app that saves me from having to press the link buttons in a specific order would make the app actually functional.

I love my Ion Pathfinder 280 haven't used the app yet but I connected to Bluetooth easily there are two options when you scan for Bluetooth devices on your phone, click the Bluetooth button on the speaker, don't connect to the one that says Pathfinder ble connect to the other Pathfinder that pops up on your phone when you search available devices . Hope this helps people having trouble connecting Bluetooth I haven't used the app yet I've only paired the speaker to my phone without the app.

I had no problem using the app. The directions that came with the Tahiti speakers say to connect to the speakers via bluetooth before opening the app. I had already read the directions on how to connect the speakers to my phone before attempting to use the app. The app is NOT necessary to connect to the speaker(s). Its just an add on to give you control of features of the speaker, such as an equalizer and lights in the case of the Tahiti lights. I agree no need to have my location to use it.

This app is horrible. I don't even think it deserves a star but you can't post without one. It will not connect to bluetooth. The radio and AUX feature will play but won't connect via bluetooth... with or without the app. The ION website is of no help either. So disappointing 😞
