    Original and unique to the digital user interface device designed by Pioneer AV engineer Jack Dolby for Pioneer. Never have lost a connection in 10 years of use and have had two VSX-1123. You won't find another remote even close that works on apple devices and android. This an IP network and is not bluetooth.

    Many problems with this app loosing connections to the receiver over the years. Jumped through lots of hoops to get it to work correctly. Not so bad when it actually does work - maybe worth three stars. However, I recently got a new phone and now there seems to be no way to even get the app to run on a modern Android phone. Very disappointed. The receiver is a major pain to configure and run through the front panel and standard remote. We really need an update to this app for Android 11. Since that doesn't look like it's going to happen, my best recommendation is to avoid Pioneer products.

    App doesn't work on android 10, it says update (but there is no update) or contatct developer. E-mail addres of developer which they leave on contact details does not exist. What else to say and to be polite et the same time.

    Pioneer was once a great company for music. Sad to see them rotting on the vine. App (only reason I own the receivers) doesn't work anymore. To ebay, goes my 3 receivers. Sad day.

    Doesn't work for latest Android version. Unfortunately it appears that Pioneer has dropped all support for AVRs made before 2016. I won't be buying equipment from Pioneer again.

    Works on Pixel 4a 5G but not on Samsung Galaxy S9+ Trying to find a way to run the app in safe mode, does not seem to work.

    No updates, crashes multiple times. Reset, uninstall, update ip, faster to hit ultra in killer instinct with sabre wolf.

    Stopped working completely and no alternative app. This needs to be fixed as the OSD inbuilt for menu control on the amp is useless, slow and clunky. This is very bad, I would be furious if I had just purchased a top end amp with no app support.

    If AV5 does not work try AV2. I have a Samsung S20 Ultra using android 11. A couple of minor issues but works OK.

    Some people have had bad luck with this app, but me personally I love it. It's ridiculous how cool some of the features are, and at the same time other parts of it are dated for sure. But if you're using a tablet instead of a phone you can basically have a volume knob that's about the diameter of a coffee cup which is cool to mess with.
