    This new update is the worst. It's hard to navigate, it plays as soon as you click on the title. Remember years ago it was simple and easy . Can't say that anymore. Now you slide up and down, left to right. Bad design. Where is the recently added movies or series tab? What's new and what's old? Roku app is the same. Showtime Anytime is a much better app. Still so simple and just works

    apk There was a time when I use this app regularly to watch TV while working now I can't log into it I'm having the same problem everyone else is telling me I'm entering the wrong email or password even though it works with my DirecTV account. Seems like HBOGo would fix this but they haven't or either can't. Thank God for Netflix.

    Completely useless app. Horrible, I'm assuming its after last update because I've had no past issues. It won't let me sign in, won't even let me select the account icon. I tried to select a movie and sign in that way but nope it just continues to loop around to the kids page. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it changed nothing.

    When you press the "go back 10 seconds" button, it goes forward 10 seconds or more. Yes, I said "forward". Both of the replay buttons go FORWARD. It'd almost be hilarious if it weren't for the fact that I'm paying for this service. It's buggy. Also, when are you going to add multiple user accounts? If we get 2 simultaneous streams, there should be the option to select a certain user with different view histories and watchlists.... But yeah, fix that "go back 10 seconds" replay button, please.

    HBO as a service is fantastic. However, the HBO app is frustrating to use. The amount of basic quality of life updates that need to happen are too many to list here. The app feels as if a team of 4 people scrambled to slap it together in a week and has no redeeming qualities. With that said, HBO as a service is great. Tons of great shows to watch and, as of right now, some of them are free to watch without a subscription

    F forced updates. I was fine with the version of the app I already had. - Edit: Seriously, a few short months later, ANOTHER forced update? This is a laborious process on my tablet, and I do not appreciate being forced to update an app that was working flawlessly for me. This is a waste of my time.

    Why even make an app if you're not going to put the time into making it work. I've tried it on three different devices and "Direct TV now" is not an option in the list. I select direct TV and sign in but it doesn't work. Here's a better idea, don't be so greedy that you need a tv subscription to use it, just put ads on there and you would make a lot more money and retain your customers. Instead I'm just going to use a third party software to watch my shows and not give you anything.

    Desperately needs sort filters!!! Works well with screenshare & Chromecast, but needs some obvious fixes. Once you start casting from Android to TV, via Chromecast, there's no way to shut the program, no kill switch, other than dragging the cursor all the way to the end or disconnecting. When the android screen sleeps, you can't get back to the show, it keeps playing itself. Worse for shows- on ending, will simply go to the next episode. Also needs a 'latest'/just added section.

    Don't even bother getting this app because you will never get logged in. It keeps saying it can't verify my account with my provider, or it prompts me to create a profile. I followed all the trouble shooting steps and even deleted then reinstalled the app. I still can't log in! Notice in the reviews that everyone is having the same problem, but the developer seems to think we all need to do something with our phones. The only thing we need to do is delete this app and get a different service.

    Never works and never stays logged in. I'm certain of my username and password and copy and paste them in. I've uninstalled an reinstalled. This app has given me extreme misery for about 3 years now. Update response to HBO support team: just fix your app and stop making your users so miserable. We finally signed in, but I lost my firstborn son in order to do it.

    With xfinity. It logs in. When I click on a movie or show to watch, it keeps telling me, Having trouble playing video, try again later! Well, "later" has been a month now! I've uninstalled and reinstalled for a month. I've also did the app, force stop, clear data thing! It's gotten very very annoying!!

    This is the worst experience I have ever had with a modern streaming app. It constantly forgets my login, it crashes, it will start an episode that I haven't watched in years from the end credits. The catalog is difficult to navigate. It doesn't seem to have improved in the years that I have had it. It's like it was created by a single person and he/she doesn't work for HBO anymore so they just haven't made any changes since it's release. This is truly a barely functional app. Do not recommend.

    By far the worst Android video app I've used. The navigation is unintuitive. There's no support for landscape, multi window/split screen, or PiP. The app just reloads all the time or has some other issue. Why is continue watching hidden away and not one of the first options when you open the app? Please improve it.

    This app does not work. I recently changed my cell phone plan through AT&T to the unlimited elite plan which includes HBO GO. Will not let me sign in. Error messages from website not available, timed out, or my credentials were not validated through my provider. Contacted AT&T and they told me to contact HBO. Contacted HBO GO support and they stated the issue wasn't on their end. The app will not let me choose ANY tv provider without timing out so this IS an app issue. First GOT and now this.




    It was fantastic until the last update. Now on Android to TV with Nvidia Shield no sound on 80% of the programming especially the movies right now the only thing I can hear are very old shows like Silicon Valley, new programming all the sudden have no sound anymore. Please fix the damn thing or at least let us go back to an earlier version. Not even that is possible to sideload

    I am having the worst time trying to get this app to work. All I initially wanted to do was be able to add it to my Fire tv apps and no That gave me an error. So now i tried to use it on my phone and I'm getting an error. I use other premium cable channels and had no issues what so ever. I feel like I'm paying for services I can't even use.

    Content is great, but the app often loses connection with ChromeCast or the notification bar controls fail/freeze, requiring restarting the app to reconnect with the Chromecast device and regain controls. Also, closed captioning appears layered over subtitles, making shows that use subtitles intermittently (Westworld) challenging to watch with closed captioning without missing details from subtitles dialog.

    Since updating I cannot log in. Keeps telling me I have an HBO system error. I looked up the error and followed all the steps on HBOgo help website and it still doesn't work. I then emailed for help and was told to do everything I already did which didn't help. I have also performed a force stop and clearing of data with no resolution. Also, I haven't heard back from my second email. I was forced to update a functional app to a non functional one..... Thanks for nothing HBO.

    Overall good but doesn't automatically update anymore so crashes and stalls until you reinstall. The update is worst than I previously thought, the app is constantly crashing especially on the Android platform. iOS seems to fair slightly better. IT really needs to get on creating a debugging update now!

    Updated: fixed Over the last year, for weeks on end, the app will not allow me to get a screen to log in to my provider. As soon as I select Xfinity it says We're having terrible logging you in to your TV provider. If you continue to have this problem, contact them. I never have a chance to enter my credentials so my provider isn't the issue, this app is the issue. I've installed, reinstalled, etc. I keep trying and every so often it starts working again.

    Just awful. HBO has great content but it's so difficult to access via this app or online platforms that there's no point in paying for the service. There's a 50% chance you'll be able to log on (at least without uninstalling, deleting the data storage, and signing in five times). Even then, it's unlikely you'll be able to watch without interruption from the app glitching. The only sort function for content is alphabetical. Even Bing will give you better suggestions. Step it up already HBO.

    Cannot even log in. HBO blames Comcast, Comcast blames HBO. See below for additional descriptions of the issues. I've already spent two days going back and forth with both of them. The app and /or service is severely broken. After i made my initial review, HBO responded with "if you're still unable to sign in, please try these steps: 1. Go to Android Settings, Apps, then HBO GO 2. Select Force Stop 3. Select Storage 4. Select Clear Data Once complete, please do not reinstall HBO GO. Instead, launch HBO GO and sign in with Comcast. Let us know if these steps help. Thank you. ^HBO GO Customer Support". This actually worked, it may work for others out there. I am changing my rating from a 1 to a 2 because they solved the problem but with alot of effort on my part.

    No error, and no troubleshooting available. Can play an episode started elsewhere, but can't start the next. Any unwatched just loads to a black screen that never changes. Clearing cache and reinstalling does nothing... used to work great... Edit: Found the issue. The version of your app that downloads to android 7.0 freezes trying to play the obnoxious advertisements before every episode, works fine on android 10 devices though.

    App keeps disconnecting from Chromecast, so I can't stop shows from continuing to cast. The only way to stop is by going into the Home app which is tedious. Fast forward or reverse by 10 seconds doesn't work properly when watching content. Overall this app needs some tweaking.

    I used to love this app. Now both of my tv and my mobile it takes FOREVER to buffer or load anything! AND one it does load it plays video and has no sound! I don't know what is going on or why I'm paying for a service I can't seem to use!

    I can't give this app more than a 1 star. The reason being, we can't play anything. I try to log in and I get an error message that says to contact the provider. Ok, did that. All of that works. I can sign in from a computer. But NOT THE PHONE USING THE APP. So next step is contact HBO? you can't. Well, you can e-mail them. I did weeks ago. Still NO RESPONSE. I am very disappointed with the entire experience. I have uninstalled, reinstalled. You name it. HBO, please help.

    Your app is TERRIBLE. Whether it's on the firestick, my android, my iPhone, my computer, it's always horrendous. The firestick is probably the worst of them all. All platforms are so buggy, terribly designed, lazily formatted, constantly restarting and glitching. It makes it almost impossible to enjoy a show. PLEASE FIX YOUR APP!

    Terrible. Everytime I try to use the app it force closes, doesn't start or am hit with service errors. Have most streaming services and this app is by far the worst of them all. When you finally get to watch something and start getting into it, it'll crash. I've seen free streaming services that operate far better than this, the fact I've been a paying customer for so long really irritates me.

    Would give this 0 stars if I could. Super unreliable, flashes "Signed Out: We're having trouble verifying your access to HBO GO with your TV provider" WHILE I'm streaming a show already. Cleared data/cache/forced stop/uninstalled - no good. Please don't even bother wasting your interns' time replying the same, minimally-tweaked canned response; the time HBO spends replying to people's disgruntled reviews could be better spent actually trying to address the issues we're all clearly experiencing.

    Before the bot gives it's generic "contact customer support message" I'VE HAD A TICKET OPEN WITH THEM FOR 4 MONTHS. Your CS is useless. Like most people, I go to log in with my provider and get an "error 504" message. None of the generic fixes work. At this point I won't be renewing my subscription with COX or HBO.

    Worst app. How did this even get released?!? I click the log in button, it brings me to a menu to choose my provider, I click xfinity, it brings me back to log in, I click that and it wants me to choose a provider again. I can't get off that merry-go-round. It worked the first 2 times after I downloaded it and hasn't let me log in since. Needs to be redeveloped. Wish I could give it zero stars.

    The app is very buggy on Google pixel 3. If a show ends while you are casting to your Chromecast, half the time the display on the screen won't control it and you have to reload the app. If you close the app, many times the control notification will still appear on your notifications and will not go away until you restart your phone. Then on top of that, when I open the app there is no "recently watched" section and I have to always search for the the show I'm watching which is inefficient.

    Shockingly bad. It's like they designed the app to make watching as difficult as possible. Edit: I have extensive experience in programming and design. The idea that your support page is going to fix *my* trouble is insulting. I don't have troubles; you do. Your app is garbage. Enumerating the many flaws is outside the scope of this platform. But I'm not having some rare technical issue. I'm taking issue with the quality of your app, and this is absolutely the right platform for that.

    I wish I could give HBO zero stars. So glad I pay like $15 a month for an app that crashes multiple times a day/night, regardless of when I try to use it. I'm lucky to get through a minute of any show before I get a server error. Complete garbage.

    After I selected my cable provider and even added HBO to my account it would take me back to select my cable provider. Waste of money and if I could rate this app a 0/5 I would. I'm sure now I'll get a generic response from the developers of the app telling me how to sign in and honestly to those developers; don't waste your time, you've already wasted mine.

    Still having aspect ratio problems! The player is locked at a 16:9 aspect ratio. However, my phone has a 19:9 cinematic ratio. That means when I watch a movie that's letterboxed, not only is the 16:9 not filling the phone screen, but then the letterboxed film takes up an even smaller portion of the screen. YouTube and many other player can be expanded to play edge to edge, this app should have the same functionality! Allow me to pinch to expand the image edge to edge, like Hulu, Netflix, etc.

    This latest version is so buggy that it is almost not usable. I constantly have to force close and if I fast forward or rewind it freezes. The app still does not work correctly and the problem is due to the advertisements at the beginning of shows. I am so tired of hearing the words "our candidate for president Charles Lindbergh" over and over and over again while trying to watch westworld. If I can get past the advertisements in the beginning it eventually works I am better off using torrents.

    this has to be the worst streaming app of all time. first I have issues logging which I have to go to my settings to clear all my data to fix. next when I get that settled I try to connect to my chromecast which again does not work. I tried all my other streaming apps to see if it was the chromecast and it was not. they spend 15 million dollars per episode on game of thrones in what was the worst season of tv I had seen in my life but wont spend enough money to create a half decent streaming app

    This app consistently has problems. The main issue I've had, is the app keeps logging me off. When I try to log back it, all I get, is an error message. I've had this app downloaded for a couple of years and only able to use it a handful of times. I've done self-troubleshooting as well as troubleshooting with HBO and still NO FIX!!!!

    I just switched my At&t plan to the Unlimited Elite which includes HBO. However, when I go to select At&t as my provider to sign in, an error message pops up saying "Signed out - We're having trouble verifying your access to HBO Go with your TV provider - Sorry, we can't sign you in right now etc.". I only have my phone service with At&t though. Anyone else having this issue, and if so, any way to fix it? *I tried using all three At&t options (At&t TV, At&t U-verse and the At&t wireless/

    Ugh the new interface is absolutely horrid and imprecise when you want to scan through. I have no idea why they changed it. Perhaps to force people into HBO Max later. Just awful. Edit:oh god and the back ten seconds button doesn't work. It sends you forward and not backward.

    The drop-down buttons and casting do not work properly. I cant play or pause without opening and navigating to the specific show/movie being played. Defeats the purpose. And hours later, the drop down will still be there when not connected and no way to get rid of it. Volume controls do not work either when casting.

    I get HBO go with ATT wireless, if you click Att wireless as a provider you get 403 error as it directs you to pick another provider. Already cleared the cache, storage, and force stopped. Tried reinstalling and my phone is up to date. Can't even log in so one star

    This app has been riddled with various small bugs for years now. They don't prevent the app from working, but honestly I expected way more from HBO. I will award 2 stars because it does work for me to cast to my television.

    I wish this had worked for me! I am constantly stuck in the moving dots from hell! It won't even let me get past the sign in page. I had similar problems with HBO on demand. It freezes and I have to start over and over! Please find a tech person to fix your bugs.

    overall decent. a couple of annoying things. using chromecast to cast, it stops the connection after like 30 mins. so if u need to pause or something, u have to press cast again to recast. also, if u use subtitles, and watch a show like Westworld, when the characters speak a different language and caption themselves, u cant read sometimes cuz the app's subtitles will overlay the captions with "starts speaking German" or wutever language.

Alex Jones works on the INFO WARS app, but for some reason I can not get any of the series or movies to play on the HBO GO app. According to the website Android 4.1 and over devices will work. I have a RCA pro 12 Tablet with Android 6.1. When I first downloaded the HBO GO app it worked flawlessly, then about 3 days ago it stopped working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have Xfinity and when I try to login I get a message saying the app is having trouble verifying subscription info from my provider, and it then says signed out. I was able to access before with no problem, and I noticed if I select any other provide it takes me to a sign in page, but when I choose xfinity it doesnt even bring up the login page. How am i supposed to use this app i pay xfinity every month but i can't access anything on here.

    Good App when it works. Sadly this app constantly logs you off, so you have to keep signing back in every few days. I have a Samsung s9 phone and a Apple iPad and the app does this on both devices. They need to fix this app.

    crashes all the time. buffering messed up. needs update and major bug fixes. Update: The last update didn't fix any of these issues. The was not helpful at all. This app is very poorly made.

    Since updating the app for my Samsung Galaxy Tablet on 3/21/20 i cannot login anymore. I can login through my ipad and roku so it is not my service provider (Xfinity). I have reinstalled the app at least three time hoping the issues was resolved but it is not. The app worked great prior to this update.

    Barely works when trying to stream. Might get a few mintues of video play before it starts buffering until it eventually tells you it can't play the video. This is a problem whether on the app or the website. Very unhappy.

    When i select a show or movie to watch the previews will start but then its just a black screen. Cannot actually watch what i want. Then suddenly it notifies me that the app has stopped and asks if i want to close or wait. So frustrating.

    Can't watch any videos... Force closes after 5 seconds. Cleared all cache and data, uninstalled and reinstalled. Still doesn't work. For a video streaming app to not be able to stream video... Makes you understand why no one wants to pay for "premium" channels anymore.

    This app sucks. Terrible UI. No way to change closed caption settings and believe me I tried everything on the app. My font transparency is super high making it unreadable over the background of the show I'm trying to watch. I'm sure it's not ADA compliant for this reason as well.

    Terrible. Shows that are free to stream disappeared after a week, then you need to purchase the subscription. Not paying money for something before I have even got to see if any shows catch my interest.

    The UI and UX are subpar, and error messages pop up like it's whack-a-mole. When only one device is logged in, there's no reason an error should be given that it's streaming on too many devices, so you cant stream. Definitely needs improvement and some serious bug fixes.

    first of all, it's so dumb that you force people to update the app. if im paying for a service, I shouldn't have to update my app to use it just because you made changes to the UI. second, don't log people out when they do update the app!!! it's such a hassle for no reason. no other streaming app does this. third, if I click on a TV/movie I don't expect it to automatically play the media, I expect it to bring me to the title screen from where I can decide if I want to play it

    Giving 2 stars is giving them the benefit of doubt... tired of always dealing with buffering and a constant non-playback or trouble with their servers.. can you concentrate on jus one app and make it have some better connections or jus something then what it is... an I am ashame you guys where the reason I got cable in the first f**king place. Feel like you and comcast have a monopoly on the internet and your server connections

    For some reason every time I open up the app, it opens upside down. Not sure on the times I have lost track of my shown while chromcasting, because it just doesn't keep up. Have had to reboot my phone multiple times trying to binge a single show

    Annoying. I pay too much for the HBO package for such a terrible app. It used to work awesomely. But now it says "title isn't available" and error code after more error codes. So much for mobile streaming my overpriced premium channels. Horrible app. Fix it please.

    Won't allow me to log in using my Cox info. Isn't the whole point of using an APP to simplify things? I don't want to spend an hour in the phone with Cox tryng to get to the bottom of this. Thanks anyway.

    It does not work! I uninstalled and reinstalled and logged to my TV provider three different times. Does not work. When I try to watch a movie you can hear the sound, but the screen is black.

    Better catalog then the DirecTV search. Still seems like I don't get to pick from the full HBO catalog like Disney did. Lame. I know they have more than 100 movies and 50-ish series which is being very generous. You win because my flat screen can't lay on my pillow to out me to sleep at night.

    Cant play anything without streaming for 5 seconds then saying video cant be played now. Uninstalled and reinstalled twice. Full service 40 down 30 up pinging off California and I'm in michigan. All other streaming services work except this one. Always has something wrong with this app. Can never work.

    Unable to sign in. Contacted developer who did not resolve my problem at all and told me it was an AT&T problem, which it is not. They closed the investigation without any further suggestions, basically just leaving me hanging. Very disappointed.

    I always get an error code. The app works for an episode or two at best then it stops working. I force stop and clear data and even uninstalled. Then the process repeats itself.

    Won't even let me log in. Keeps saying that I entered my credentials for spectrum incorrect.... Before I even get a screen to type them in. HBO tells me to contact spectrum, spectrum tells me to contact HBO. They both want to get paid, though.

    If I could give this app, a 0 star, I would. Who created this app? Jesus Christ... 🤬 It doesn't meet the basics for functionality. I'm using a Google Pixel 2 and I can't even log in because the God damn submit/login button, below the password field, is hidden behind some stupid menu for search. Since I can't press the button, I can't log in. The developers who developed this app and the testing team which tested this app should all be fired.... Freaking Morons!! 😡😡🤬🤬

    I have HBO and Cinemax through AT&T Uverse. This app tells me I do not. I have been a subscriber to HBO and Cinemax through Uverse for near 3 years. Edit: Your link page will not let me paste a screenshot in description. Your move. 2nd Edit: I also have Starz. Starz app login says i don't have that either. Looks like a U-verse authentication problem. Oddly, the AT&T U-Verse app logs me in with no problem. And HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime, TMC works fine with that app. Standalone apps? Nope.

    Good app. The only issue I'm having is the app is freezing my whole phone when I get a call or switch to another tab then try to go back to hbo go. Im using a Samsung s10 plus.

    Whether I am watching on my fire stick or on my phone, there is ALWAYS lag or buffering issues. Does not matter if I am on 4G with full bars, or on wifi that is 250 up and 50 down. It is ridiculous that one of the most expensive streaming services has this many playback issues.

    Doesn't work with Comcast. One of the benefits of paying for HBO is supposed to be that I get access to this app and can watch HBO on the go, but for years their service hasn't worked properly with Comcast customers. It's very disappointing.

    Downloaded the app because I have hbo with my att service. Guess I'll be deleting it since it's been weeks and still unable to use the app. What garbage. HBO should fire the devs and hire all new ones, then maybe they'd have a real app for once. Should had listened to all he negative reviews.

    When I choose my provider & log-in, I'm being redirected to some AM Channel in Norway. After repeated attempts for a fix, I've hit HBO's brickwall with fingerpointing to everyone but themselves. I'm still being rerouted to AM Channel in Norway from Hawaii.

    HBO can blame XFinity but bottom line is this app does not deliver for the countless millions on XFinity who are PAYING for HBO. Seriously, y'all need to fix the authentication issue with XFinity once and for all or I'm nuking HBO from our lineup. Without GO, it's totally not worth it.

    Worst streaming app ever. Constantly won't let watch any videos because it says that I have too many devices playing, even though IM THE ONLY ONE logged in. No amount of signing out and in will get it to go away. It always seems random too.

    Great content but there app could use some work and new features. I would like to see ability to download content to view offline like ShowTime, Netflix, etc. Seems to buffer more than other video streaming apps. Love Last Week Tonight. Worth HBO subscription alone.

    The new update is HORRIBLE. The interface is the worst of any streaming service by far. No way to easily navigate to find what you want. No way to search even. The app was fine before.

    Absolutely horrible app. Used to actually be able to watch shows on my phone. Now with it's buffering and freezes, literally unwatchable, don't waste ur time people,it's been years and the app devs still don't have the skill to make a working app

    Can't log in since update. I try to log in using my Spectrum account and keep getting an error message saying I do not have the advice through DISH. It will not let me choose the proper service provider.

    This is the only streaming app I have issues with. It constantly disconnects video from my Chromecast and displays an error message while the content and audio continues playing. Just bad.
