I am not computer savvy and first time I used apt found it different to previous booking. Now I find it simple and easy to buy tickets. Thank you.

Doesn't work properly and ends up being an inconvenience. Glitches during purchase, took my money, then immediately cancelled my ticket. I am still waiting for that purchase to become available funds in my bank account. They also take £1 each time to test your bank account. I had to buy from the Trainline, so I am out of pocket twice now until it refunds my cash. It's really sad, but this is exactly why people have stopped supporting small business, nobody has the time for this.

Pretty big bug with destinations and origins showing up as () on itinerary and tickets, makes them look fake imo. Have already had a mini "crash" during navigation where it threw me back to the login screen (but didn't close the app). Also the UX of having to "unlock"/"enable" (whatever it is called) a ticket, so it can only be used on one device seems a bit weird, as other train providers are happy to email you a copy as a PDF - which is in itself better than having to use an app anyway.

Be careful when booking with Grand Central. Last week I booked a ticket to travel from Eaglescliffe to London. The journey took 2 hrs and 40 mins but there were no available seats and so I (along with about 30 others) had to STAND for the whole journey. Other passengers without a seat included an 80+ year old woman. If you can't reserve a seat be prepared to stand.

Won't let you download tickets in advance. There's a bug where seat reservations are displayed with the same arrival/departure station. Uses QR codes which are incompatible with ticket gates at most train stations meaning you have to queue en masse for an attendant to let you through the gates (not the app's fault but still a pain). The UI design of the app makes it difficult to spot important links, eg the very light grey arrow which is supposed to indicate a link to view your actual ticket.

UPDATE 11 OCT: e-ticket bookings made on GC website don't show in the app, so no ticket! When booked in app, will often not display e-ticket when I click on 'View'. No way to rebook eticket journey in app. Totum Card discounts not always applied to eligible journey. Reservations are shown as 'Brighouse to Brighouse' and 'Kings Cross to Kings Cross'. Reported all this to cust svcs, with screenshots. Lukewarm response. I've gone back to paper tickets until app is fit for purpose. Avoid!
