After managing to connect it to a cloud storage properly (which took days) it finally works. Now, if you do NOT want to use the shuffle/random feature it works fine. But of you do want to use those you're in for some disappointment. The shuffle feature algorithm is terrible and it will show some pictures dozens of times while others never at all (currently from a 500~ pic folder). Edit. No app settings of file issues are the cause, all come from the same camera.

foto - digital photo frame photo slideshow player Reducing to 4 stars. Still a good digital photo frame. Update: I bought four Fire 7 tablets and set 2 to show landscape photos only and 2 in portrait in a 20" x 16" frame. All of them used the same and only one folder in Google Photos with 5000+ photos and I agree with some that shuffle will not show other photos. No HEIF format. I kept seeing same photos but others are not shown. Every 2 weeks I cleared the cache but same results. Nonetheless, I still loved it.

apk Great app. However, unlike Google devices, vertical photos are not showing properly than horizontal ones. There should be additional setting options such as showing 2 vertical photos in one page like Google devices, or put a separate option for vertical photos only. And, if possible, more detailed decoration options would be great such as differenciating font sizes of photo taken time and location.

premium Great app and love it. Just what I was looking for to have a use for an old tablet. Setting it up and select the photo's (from Google Photo) that I wanted to have shown was easy piecie. Other settings like time to show, time, date and weather (which is really only a small weather icon and temperature) is also very easy. Only thing I need to find out is how to have the premium version (which I purchased) on other devices then the one I bought it on.

Awesome app, the best one I know so far for this functionality..Just one suggestion that could be incorporated to make it more awesome... When looking at functionality of lenovo smart frame recently, there I saw some features like auto brightness change based on ambient light level, also screen getting automatically turned off in case the surrounding gets very dark, also auto switch on when the room light is turned on.. If such similar features can be included in fotoo, it would be super sweet

This is the one and only photo frame app that I could find that has a modern UI and can link to Google Photos. It can also display the current time, weather and the date of the photos shown, which are nice bonuses. Although the premium version is relatively high at $19.99, it's still worth the investment of turning old android tablets into digital photo frames. Please consider adding these additional features, if possible: 1) link to Amazon Photos 2) link to multiple accounts in Google Photos / Amazon Photos so that it can display albums from different family members 3) add a random photo display effect option (for photos that it can't detect faces). Thanks!

I got it working with my NAS. I want to use it to turn my old tablet into a digital photo frame. There are a few features that this would benefit from. Firstly I would like it to be registered as my default screens saver. Secondly I would like to be able to have different display modes as I don't like the strange scrolling that goes on. Ideally I would like it to keep the tablet alive so it does not go off after the screen timeout.

Shuffle keeps repeating the same photos. - I am using G Photos with cache set to 10gb on a an SD card. Match screen orientation is not enabled. EDIT: no change since last update. More and more people complaining about the same photos showing up and dev keep dismissing it with generic responses.

Lets make it simple. I am from europe but now live in Thailand for a few years. Finally want to buy the premium. Okay 5 euros. Then I remember I never changed my location in google playstore. Hey maybe even cheaper like with steam!? Changed my location to TH. Now have to pay 450 baht on promotion from 800 baht. 450 baht is 12 euros!!! Now about to uninstall fotoo and give my money to dFolio instead for 92 baht.

Love the app... very easy to setup and use. All past and present memories showing on random.. how good is that. only feed back and would love to have is if if could play videos from albums also... now that would be something :)

This is it, the ultimate picture frame. I am thrilled. Pictures directly from Google Photo, you can even choose the folder! Everything perfectly configurable with very many great options, such as displaying only pictures that match the current orientation. And also the autostart option when charging works perfectly.

Great app. Allows me to repurpose all my old tablets. I really like that it works with Google Photos, and allows you to pick the album you want to display. Since the purchase is in-app for premium, does anyone know if it is good just for that device, or will the premium work for all my devices with the one purchase?

Premium user here Seems ok but the transitions lack advanced configurations, and seeing the same direction of a whype 1000 times and only haveing like powerpoint 98 transitions really is meh. The decorations are very few. The only thing that makes this good is the online storage for photos. But other then that its kind of so so.

Great app. I went to go pro but when i saw that $19 price tag i just couldn't do it. $5 no problem. $10 maybe. $19 nope sorry more than I'm willing to spend on an app

Using the free download, the system works nicely. Having some trouble with certain file types. I don't see claims for your free or premium product on filetypes handled, or any other specification / claim. Where is your web site and claims? For $20, a clear and detailed description of the product capabilities is a minimum expectation!

I bought this app in order to convert three of my devices into digital photo frames. Unfortunately, the purchase only registered on one of my devices, and failed to recognize that I bought the premium version on the other two devices, no matter what I tried. I emailed support about the issue over a month ago, and still have heard no response from them. The app works well on the one device, however I felt that I was too pricey for a single device, so I am disappointing that I had such a small success rate.

The shuffle doesn't seem to be very random as I see repeat photos on a gallery of over 41k photos. I should never see repeats. Plus, it's a very expensive app. Other than that I like it. Edit: Indexing 41k photos on an internal SD card takes quite some time. There seem to be less repeats, but they are still there.

Researched all similar apps, clearly Fotoo is superior. Would like to see the zoom display effect have options ( if possible). Zoom out only Zoom in only Zoom gradations (More zoom or less) Zoom direction towards corners An amusing note emphasizing zoom control. A nice seated portrait of a neighbor, a slight zoom would have been just right, the Fotoo app then zoomed right in to her crotch!! Consequently I had to re-crop the photo.....thus the need for less zoom. Having fun recycling my old pads because of your app. Great Job.

I'll be frank. This could be a great app, for quick access a slideshow feature on their phone (like me), however they make two fatal mistakes. 1. the random code is bugged. I have a slideshow with over 3k pictures, and see the same ~5 pictures show up everything single minute. 2. There's a super annoying 5 minute pause that comes up as a way to annoy users into buying the extremely expensive pro version (almost $20). Multiple slideshows and a fair price would incite me to buy the pro version.

Hi I have the premium version but it's stopped working for last couple of months. It comes on when idle but just shows the fotoo splash screen. I can get to the app menu and checked everything I can think of. It's version 2.3.32. It use to play pictures from local NAS. It can still browse the share ok. Please help.

  42. ScottC-avatar

I had an issue where I could not unlock it as no prompt appeared. On reading reviews I randomly found that animation needs to be enabled (I had it disabled in developer options). There should be a check for this when activating the lock and a warning to the user. Also did not work with my NAS drive unless I used IP address rather than the NAS name. Other PCs and devices can browse just fine, but this throws up a network error unless using IP. Otherwise a lovely piece of software!

  43. Sam Brady-avatar

Great app. I really enjoy being able to shuffle my photos. My only question is, would it be possible to add device battery percentage as a decoration, so it shows during the slideshow? That would make this app truly useful as a charging screen.

I'm trying to purchase the premium version but it is not allowing me to do so, keeps telling me to go to 7 eleven store or to buy some gift card (Walmart or Target). Hands down the best app there is to cast photos from my personal cloud. I have close to 100k pictures on my NAS. It picks random pics and displays photos. I love it. You should integrate with all the new frame tvs coming up. Great job keep it up.

I am using it for a digital photo frame and it works great using SMB, but I had a hard time figuring out how to get the Gallery option to work. I had to disable all my network drives first otherwise it went out and listed every single folder on my network. Now it works great. Also, I had the same problem that user 'Vat Home' mentioned. The app thinks it's still being configured and is waiting for a folder or location with photos to be selected before it will procede.

I use an album in Google photos, which has 100+ photos, but the app showing only 3 photos repeatedly. Tried with all sync interval options and photo orders, clean cache to load again... The issue cannot be resolved. I also request a refund but Google said failed !!! updated: I changed the photo folder to Google Drive, and it works. even we still have a bug with google photos, I would like to re-rate 4 stars, hope that in future the bug will be fixed, and new feature coming... like humidity, air quality...

  49. Rob Mascaro-avatar

I think this is the best photo frame in the play store and has never crashed - worth the money as it is pricey. It flawlessly plays multiple sources SMB/Network, Google Photos in shuffle mode as I have photos spread over mulitple sources. There are some improvements that could be made. I've noticed that the same photos can pop up over and over - especially in random (recent bias) mode but also in shuffle mode (I have more than 10GBs in the cache so this shouldn't be happening). Maybe a counter should be implemented so that a particular photo doesn't get played too often. One other improvement could be to allow "Recent Highlights" Google Photos album to be selected. That way I wouldn't need to create an album for each year and keep adding photos to it. Other competing products do let you select this album so I'm not sure why it's not available. Otherwise, a brilliant piece of software. EDIT: To answer your question, I think it's pFolio but I tried so many I can't remember exactly. Definitely was support for "Recent Highlights" in one of them so I know it can be done. Also, if you have a ChromeCast you will notice in "Ambient" mode it display Recent Highlights on the TV as the screensaver.

Very good app for Photo Frame. I only have a suggestion for the developer. Please add a delete picture button or gesture so you can delete pictures when displayed. I have the premium version but it does not have this feature. I also have tons of pictures and this will be very helpful for me to clear up some pictures which I no longer need (something like swipe up or down :) ) Also it would be great if the app will display also movies or animated pictures. Thank you and keep up the good work.

This app is highly recommended for those who wanted to covert a tablet into a digital frame, which i did for 2 fire tablets. I love that it can pull from Google Photos (no social media sadly). Opted for premium because i hated the break timer. I wished the app purchase could carry over to other devices. As such, I had to purchase premium for two apps, which is very annoying. On top of that, the price will also vary depending on the [size of the] device rather than a flat rate.

  52. Bebe Gebe-avatar

Hello, I have premium. 1) You can kick off a slideshow manually, but it will not do so automatically as a screen saver would. 2) Also, if you want to progress to the next photo, touching the screen opens the settings menu and then you have to press home to exit - it doesn't allow you to swipe to the next screen. 3) There is a timing feature which is supposed to shut down the device, however it never does. I left it on overnight to see if it would shutdown - no joy - still displaying the photos the next morning. This is for my mom and I don't want the device going all night, disturbing her sleep. Take Away: The app is good for manual use, but the automation doesn't work. MG

An old Android tablet works as decent photo frame with changing photos, date and weather. It can pick from network share too. It can even go to sleep in-between to save from screen burn and battery. For me the price was ok. It did well for many months. But off late, I can't go to the Settings no matter what I do. After opening newly installed app, I select the network share folder, and it starts showing photos. When I press on screen it first shows a demo and that's it, nothing after that. I have deleted data and reinstalled app few times. I have pressed on the screen multiple times at different places and waited for hours. It opens faded background with small share icon on top right. It's empty and there is no settings menu. If developer can help with this, it would be great.

I love it! I have a 20" TV in my kitchen that flips though all my favorite pictures and while I cook or while we eat we reminisce. I had to get help from the technical team to find out why all my photos weren't flipping through, only 10 out of 130 pictures were showing. If this happens to you try going to Settings then Display Effects then to Screen Orientation Only and click to disable. Now all my photos come up. Thanks you tech person.

Good photo frame app, but lacks the ability to restart from the first slide, the settings interface is very difficult to access, and it's much more difficult to advance or go back manually than need be. The ability to quickly search a directory to a new start slide would be very useful. Was nevertheless going to upgrade to avoid the 5 minute pause in the free version until I saw the $20 price tag, which apparently has increased 6x from the initial price... way to much for a single function app!

I cant really recommend this app, because there are too many negative points: - Premium has to be paid via InApp and is therefore pretty insecure, if you have to reinstall or the developer decides not to support you. - Premium is extremely expensive with 14,99 euros - Shuffle and random does not work properly: I have selected about 800 photos and there are about 50 of them that are shown over and over again (together with some really random or shuffled photos) - No display of more than one photo at a time Could be a nice app, but not with this restrictions. EDIT to reply from dev: Even if the in-app-purchases will show in the account history, this money is lost, if the developer stops business. That was my personal experience in other cases. I understood the difference between shuffle and random, but still both options show the same 20 or so photos out of 800 in about 40% of the cases. But thank you for your quick reply here, altough it is a pitty that you didnt answer my mail to you from end of last year.

Update: crashes on S3 tab. | Simply superb. I use it on an older tablet that I leave charging on display at my mum's retirement home. I have it display photos from a shared Google drive, which let's me upload photos from my phone or home and have them displayed at her flat almost instantly. The program starts up automatically whenever the tablet is booted and when the charger is inserted. The free version is great and I happily paid the cheap £1.99 pro fee to get a few extra worthwhile features.

If you're going to use this app continuously then you'll need to buy premium to avoid the 5 minute breaks which are quite obnoxious. That said the app works great is well designed and the one hitch I had the developer responded promptly which a solution that worked. I tried to find a cheaper alternative that's the same quality and I couldn't. The old adage you get what you pay for applies here. That said I've minused 1 star for the slightly high price imo. Thanks Dev 👍

I am giving it 3 stars for now. This app has a lot of promise, but is missing a couple key features that are probably a deal breaker for me. 1. I want to have my photos do a combined pan and zoom effect (i.e. ken burns effect). This app can only do pan or zoom, and the pan effect is only up and down - no side to side motion. I want the app to be able to pan in any direction and zoom at the same time. I would like to be able to control both the pan and zoom via settings so that it doesn't over zoom my photos. 2. When panning or zooming past the edge of the photo, this app does an extrapolated blur effect beyond the photo. While this is maybe desirable in some circumstances, I want it to have a black background off the photo to add to the contrast effect of the slide show. If I knew that the premium version had the added features I need I would buy it and up the star rating, but as far as I can tell the premium version does not include these features. If someone who has the premium version can let me know if the paid version has these features, it would be much appreciated.

Should clearly state pauses every 5 min, unless $20 paid in the Google Play summary to save people wasting time downloading. Come on Google, force the app Devs to explain what the app will do in free versions. I'm not paying that much to these thieves. Developer, thank you for your response. I am sure I will find a quality product that suits me for far less than the $20 you expect, and I'll be happy to pay a reasonable price to that dev.

Does exactly what it should do. Very nice to turn an Android device into a digital frame BUT, and this is a big but, it does NOT cache the images! I have been using this app (unpaid version) for a few months now and I love it. Now I have stopped using it because I found out that it does not cache the images it downloads from Google Photos. Instead, it simply re-downloads them when it has gone through the entire folder and starts again. This is unacceptable. I only found out about this because I was curious one day how much bandwidth I was using and noticed that even during night time I was using from 300-400MB per hour. That is >216GB a month. Until this is fixed I will not use the app anymore. I still give it 5 stars since functionally it is a very nice application. I just hope that the developers will take this into consideration even though they already received 5 stars from me.

Seems to work well but it's not in Full mode. I don't see anything in the description that says what the limits are and what you get if you go to Pro mode. I just noticed that my slideshow stopped and showed a countdown timer that it would resume in 5 minutes. What other things will I run into from not being in Pro mode? That should be listed in the description. Update: App worked OK for a while but then started crashing every time the 5 minute cool-down timer would come on. I'd open the app and 10 seconds later it would crash. After the timer was done, it would seem to open OK, but the next time the timer came on, it would crash again. Uninstalled.

Great app. Have been using it on my old tablet loading data from my home server. Just 2 points I hope it can be improved upon. 1. Display of location info to include the country. 2. The randomized showing of the photos doesn't seem random enough. Updated on 20-Jan-2020 in response to the developer's reply. First, thank you for the response. 1. Country info is not available under abbreviated address option. Under full address option, there is no spacing between the words. Some of the addresses are too long and is rather distracting. The abbreviated mode with country info would be the way to go. 2. I am already using Shuffle option. I have more than 10 thousands photos in multiple folders, and I do see repeated photos being displayed.

The app is nice, but syncing just doesn't seem very reliable. I've set it up to pull from Google Photos, and set the sync time to 5 minutes, but it just doesn't seem to want to update. I feel like I must be missing something. I'm going to give it a longer test and seem if it's just quite slow to update. I want to use it for a digital photo-frame for my mum who is in a home, so we can all send her photos, but if it doesn't update in a reasonable time it won't be much use. A small feature request: Add the option to show the Google Photos caption for a photo instead of its filename. The filename is generally pretty meaningless, just whatever the camera came up with.

I like the app, using it on Nexus 7 2012, and tried to go premium, but Google has blocked the attempt and said the following: "Less secure app blocked Google blocked the app you were trying to use because it doesn't meet our security standards. Some apps and devices use less secure sign-in technology, which makes your account more vulnerable. You can turn off access for these apps, which we recommend, or turn on access if you want to use them despite the risks." Can this be looked into and let me know when the fix should be expected? Would love to go premium once it's solved. Thanks! 3 star for now due to 5 min lockout, and will update the rating after the issues are dealt with. Thanks! Update: I actually did a factory reset before installing fotoo, and I found out the issue. It turns out I needed to be more patient and wait for Google Play Store/Framework/etc. components to update themselves, which makes sense because the older version likely isn't as secure (as Google wouldl ike) as the newest version. Issue's resolved, and thank you for the prompt and thoughtful response which pointed me to the right direction, changed the review to 5 star!

This is by all means a fantastic app. We love the animation setting that shows the time and weather as an overlay. You can set the app as your screensaver, to ensure your tablet is locked to protect your gmail account. You need to do this in system settings. The app has a lock function, but you just unlock the app by tapping the screen. I wanted to use a couple of tablets as photo frames to show a large collection of family photos and tried a number of different apps to do so. Fotoo FAR AND AWAY was the BEST ONE! It offers a rich set of options to customize the display of your photos, as well as, supports a wide range of sources from which to obtain them. The user interface is very well laid out and simple to use. In addition to the excellent app, I was very pleased with the responsiveness and effectiveness of the support provided by the developer. I had a question regarding different sources (Google Photos vs others) which was answered quickly and accurately which resolved my issue. I enthusiastically paid for the Premium version given the terrific quality of both the app and the support!

It also has more functionality than any (expensive) dedicated photo frame. Worth every penny. My deep respect goes to the developers. Keep doing the good work. Amazing ! Hey Bopp Studio, great job on the app with a very friendly UI and many cool features like scheduled on/off, transition, decoration, and especially, pulling images from local network via SMB. However, a one missing must-have feature that most stand-alone digital picture frames have, is the motion sensing on/off. I mean, in most cases, there is no point of displaying the images (and wasting power) if no one is around to see them. So Bopp Studio, can you add motion sensing on/off? Thanks!

Excellent. This is exactly what I was looking for to use an old tablet as a photo frame. I am showing photos from an SMB share on my server. A few suggestions: 1. Publish on the Amazon App store so this can be easily used on the cheapo Fire tablets (even if this would mean no Google Drive/Photos) 2. Offer an option to show two photos side by side if they don't match the screen orientation. (i.e. two portraits side by side when the tablet is in landscape). 3. Customizable date formats.

I purchased. This is better than any photo slide show app. It has numerous features I've been looking for. The most important was the display of the file name so I could locate pictures I want to remove or so I can change the file name to something meaningful without scrolling through 10,000 files. I'd love to have this on my Windows 10 desktops!!

Really like it. Works great for turning an old Nexus 10 into something useful again. The only thing I could ask for is network integration with SMB 3 since that is what my server is setup to use. I was able to make things work by just using Syncthing to copy the pictures over to the tablet so if I want to add or remove something it's fairly simple. I already use Syncthing for a ton of stuff so adding some more storage points is not a huge deal. I understand that some people will be fine using one of the cloud services but on a metered or slow connection that can start to become an issue. And windows 10 machines are SMB 3 unless you jump through a ton of hoops which will scare off the average user. With that said I love how it works and will probably set up another old tablet to work the same way for my mother in law to have. Then my wife can add and remove pictures whenever she wants and they can transfer over for her to enjoy. I have tested everything out and added about 100 pictures to what I have setup so far and within a few minutes the new ones are being displayed so this will be very nice indeed and worth the extra 2.00 to have all the features.

Working great on 3 fire tablets accessing my local NAS drive. I looked long and hard before coming across Fotoo which, in addition to cloud options, also offers local network options. It can be as simple or as customized as you want but either way, it makes your pictures look great.

I searched for and tried out a lot of apps specifically for the screensaver option on my Sony Bravia TV. I was specifically looking for an app that worked with Dropbox, as that was a must. I found that feature in this app and it works just like it should. Overall I'm pretty happy with this app, as it does what I was looking for. A few things I don't like are: 1. You cannot try out the screensaver without purchasing. Although I don't mind paying the $9.99 for something that the dev put time into making work, it would have been nice to not have to gamble with purchasing just to find out if the screensaver option worked. Since it does work I'm okay with the cost of the app. 2. It seems to cycle the same photos over and over, yet I have hundreds in my dropbox folders 3. Sometimes it gets stuck and won't go into the screensaver...which defeats the purpose of a screensaver to protect my OLED screen 4. This is my main grip with the APP, and is the only one that I've seen that does this. When it goes into the screensaver mode, it put this big "FOTOO Premium" advertisement right in the center of the screen. I of course did not know it would do this before I purchased because you can't try out the screensaver without purchasing. I would likely not have purchased it knowing it did this, but here we are. If this weren't bad enough, its really kind of obnoxious that this advertisement lasts for 10-12 seconds before it actually goes into the screensaver. I think that is just entirely not necessary. I spent money so that I could see only the photos I wanted, and having to see this advertisement makes me cringe every time the screensaver comes up. PLEASE do something about this. I'd like to see the metadata that shows this is an effective way to get more customers beyond the one that just paid for it that is looking at their own tv every day. I'd change my rating to a 5 if I didn't have to see this advertisement every single time my TV goes into screensaver mode. Overall I do think this is a really good app!

Does not play well with Plex as of 11/24/19. I have created a library of movie posters on a Google Drive that displays as a screensaver. If I sling/stream anything to my nVidia Shield via Plex, the movie sound starts but the software doesn't break from screensaver mode. Please fix. Suggestion: Would love more options for the time and weather display. Right now there seems to be two options. I'm afraid the one I thought would be more useful, the fading in-and-out, just fades out for a fraction of a second every 10-15 seconds. Is that really enough to prevent burn in? Maybe allow the fade to be adjustable or the time to fade in-and-out in different corners of the screen.

  125. Sanjay Sharma-avatar

Awesome app with a nice interface. I will give 5 stars if the following can be done 1. The fonts for the decorations (Date, weather and time taken/location) is way too large. Takes up a lot of space. 2. Would be nice if month is shown as letters e.g. Jun 3, 2018 (also solves whether the first number is month or date) 3. Added bonus if picture decorations (time taken and location) appear in really small font at bottom. Or fade in and fade out. I think the best option is for this metadata to fade in x seconds after picture is shown and fade out after 5 seconds. Only if I really like a pic then maybe I want to see that data. Hope I make sense.

First I want to say that I really love the app. It has everything I want and need in a Digital Photo Frame app. The sad thing is that I just can't use it. No matter what I do, the app does not 'stay purchased'. It works on one device for as long as I have it installed. If I install the app on another device using the same account, the "Go Premium" is there. If I uninstall the app on the device I purchase it on and reinstall it, the "Go Premium" comes back. Dev has been helpful, no fix though.

Update: prompt developer response was correct, it takes quite a while with large albums (days) but ultimately they did sync up correctly. Almost everything about this app is great except it doesn't work as designed with Google photos. When I add photos to an album they do not show up on the frame. Developer didn't respond to my email request. Hopefully there's a setting that will fix it.

Not a bad slideshow app. It really needs brightness control through gestures though, like most of these types of app have. Answer: I keep my phone brightness at a constant setting, not automatic. Regardless, I may want to adjust the brightness on the fly just for the slideshow based on changing light conditions, or the types of images being displayed.

Purchased the full version after loving the trial, however have run into some issues. Syncing with a Dropbox account with one folder containing photos. Fotoo settings aren't being reflected in the slideshow. Select recent photos first, get old photos. Set photos to cycle at 2 second intervals (for testing), still at 5 or 10 seconds. Would love to continue using as the setup was very easy, but I need a way to have the app show the latest photos in the slideshow. Seems only to be showing 10-20 of the 180ish in the folder.

It's ok, does the basic job, but a bit of user research would have done them good. For example if an awesome pic pops up there's no way to "jump to" it for saving in a favourites album. Similarly you can't go to blurry pics to erase them. I don't have time to dedicate to curating my photos but when good or bad ones pop up here I'd like to take action on them.

Terrific app. I was looking for a way to repurpose an old tablet as a digital photo frame and this worked perfectly for me. Navigation could be improved. I find it odd having to press the back button to start a slide show - I'd rather there was a play button that I could press. Hey, Developer - any chance you could implement nested folders? It would make life easier for people like me who organise their photos in a folder/subfolder structure.

  133. Harry Kindle-avatar

I purchased the premium level of this app and it worked well for me for a long time. I was using DLNA as a source of my pictures. An upgrade to my system caused a change in the name of my DLNA server and I could not configure the new DLNA source in Fotoo. I emailed the developer at the address in the Play app listing over a week ago, but received no response. I think the problem may be that DLNA sources are a premium feature and that Fotoo may have somehow lost my premium status. Whatever the case, more than a week is too long for a paying customer to have to wait for a response and the App's poor communication does not allow me to troubleshoot the issue myself. When it works, it is a good app, but the poor customer service and poor app diagnostic information makes this a 2 star app at best.

  134. chris wellock-avatar

Good app if it worked. Even the premium (paid) version seems to be only displaying a small and same number (20) of pictures even though I have hundreds in my linked Google Photos album. An email to the developer remains unanswered, hopefully a poor review will get this addressed. Update: Disabling this setting fixed the issue. Not sure how it got set or if was set by default. Not sure why you would even have this as an option given digital photo frames are typically always in the same position.

  135. Steven Bates-avatar

The interface is fairly simplistic, but there is a fault that if there is a video within the photo albums that you pointing to within Google Photos for example will cause the app to be stuck and not advance to the next photo. At least from what I have seen on an Android system (Sony TV). A bit better than others I have tried, but still a lot of room for fine tuning.

Almost perfect; great feature set and easy to use and customize; I really wished the weather icons were higher quality -- I really wanted the text to be 100% size but the icons look pixelated at that size (only around 50% do they look okay). I'm considering purchasing the full version but that's stopping me as my primary goal is a clock/weather display for an old tablet. The only other change I would love is the ability to select recent photos from Google Photos instead of just albums, but I'm not sure if that's a Google photos issue or this app.

Works very well, unpaid version is good but paid is worth it, tons more features, and infinite scrolling. Great photo frame app ! Upgrade to Premium is worth it. Supports local SMB share from the WD MyBookLive network drive. There is only 1 issue. Sometimes the slideshow would stop at an image for a minute or more before going to the next image. The SMB-shared folder has 600 images in it, the cache is set to 100MB, image sizes range from 400K to 9MB, and the duration is set to 10 seconds per image. Maybe just a configuration fix ?

I am trying this app as a replacement for DayFrame I used to use. It fills the gaps since support for DayFrame stopped long ago. The app does what it does well, but I feel it is missing a feature I loved on my old app. If there was a way for the app to auto launch based on the time and conditions. Instead I have to start it each time. If they can add an option to start the slides how on its own, I'd rate a 5. Let me know Devs, I emailed you about it too and have not gotten a reply.

No doubt this is one of the most amazing app to convert your phone/tablet to a digital photo frame. But the problem is it consumes a lot of data when you select Google photo as the source of imagaes. It used more than 18GB of data when i used for just two days. The app as free works fine but as a paid version allows more transitions and stops the blank time out. For £1.99, it's a bargain. Allows for scheduling on and off and can pull photos from lots of sources such network, local storage, Google drive and many others. I am scheduling 6am-11am everyday, pulling pictures from my server on an old Google Nexus 10. It puts the Nexus 10 to use instead of collecting dust in a drawer.

This works so much better than the last digital photo frame app I used. It actually is able to read SD cards as promised and network shares. There's a lot of configuration options that don't exist in other apps. Granted the premium in app features are a little expensive, but they're worth it. Of note: I use a SMB network share (windows sharing) to store and access my photos and since it's Windows 10 you have to go into add/remove windows features and enable SMB 1. This is a security issue and the developer should support SMB 2 or SMB 3 which provide much more security. Update: The developer has released an update that adds SMB2/3 support. I was able to remove SMB1 support from my computer and the updated app was still able to read files from it. Thank you so much! :)

Possible the greatest app there is around here. Multiple possibilities to load your photos from, either local, cloud, and other services. The look of it is great, well finished, offers a lot of options even in free mode. Overall, I recommend it. I used this app to turn an old tablet into a digital photo frame.

Amazing App.....tried the free version and was so impressed I upgraded almost immediately to the premium. I use it with a shared album on Google photos which updates automatically when family have added new one's. I had a slight problem with the app initially, sent an email to Bo got a really quick response back with advice as to what settings I should have set for optimum results and it worked a treat....highly recommend it and would have paid a lot more for the app....well done Bo!!!! 😀

I love the concept of the app, but getting frustrated after paying for premium and the app does not seem to register that i paid. The slideshow still pauses after several minutes giving the upgrade-or-watch-a-video option. When I click the upgrade option it gives me an error saying I already own it. This keeps happening even though I reinstalled the app. Changed to 5 stars because this is Google's fault. The app itself is great, responsive developer!

Hands down the most professional and well-thought out $2 app I've ever purchased. Very configurable and just about all the features you can imagine .I've converted old 2 tablets and 2 phones to picture frames at work and at home and enjoy seeing family, friend, and vacation photos throughout the day. My wishlist items are adding the abilities to: 1) Share the current picture (IM, email, copy, etc.) 2) "Favorite" or somehow mark and/or group/label the current picture 3) Rotate the current picture (fix rotation issues) 4) Ban, delete, or move the current picture to trash 5) Some sort of collage mode or 3D spinning picture cube would be cool

I have the pro version and I think it's really a good digital photo frame. Lots of option available for photo source, effects, and features. I believe there are more then enough options to make average user happy. However, I ran into a problem that it will stop shuffling through the photos in Google photos. It will just repeat the same photo after about 5 minutes. Hope this can be resolve in future updates.

I love this app and it's worth the money for paid version. One suggestion: combining crop to fit center and zoom (or focus) display effects. Currently zoom and focus effects zoom out so far that photos with rosolution different from screen get letterboxed. I'd love for an option to not zoom out past where the photo will no longer fit on the whole screen. Thanks!!

Simple app to convert an old tablet to a photo frame. Still it has flaws. 1) if you update your virtual drive the app doesn't sees it. It just sticks with the old one 2) crashes slot 3) 10 Euros for this is a high price. I would buy it for 4 euros, bit 10 is very high knowing you can buy a second hand photoframe for around 20 Euros. 1) OneDrive for example. added photos and even if sync is on it doesn't select the new photosNo even after 1 hour. I need to close and open app

Re-purposed the kids old Amazon Fire tablets (7") to digital photo frames around the house. Overall, works really well. I connected it to my Google Photos album and it shows photos like the Hub Home does without all that much trouble. Easy buy! Had two tablets just laying around doing nothing. $2 later and a little configuration in tasker + fotoo, I have some photo frames displaying my family (like a home hub wannabe). I also installed it on my ShieldTV and set it as the screensaver, however, instead of my family, I'm trying to find some other sources (like shared Google photo albums, or other places) that have good landscape orientation artwork/photos. Any suggestions? Great job dev! works like a charm.
