This is a excellent network monitoring tool for anyone of any skill level. It helps you determine what devices are connected to the network and allows you to backup and save that information. For those who are unsure of the sign up, this allows you to backup all the information and the device names that you assign to what is on your network. Very helpful for those who are deploying large networks and need to be able to identify the various switches and devices that are on the network.
very good scanner but I hope you add open port scanner filter or add some icon on device's list show this device have open port
A valuable tool to show whos on your wifi network and track down unauthorized users.
I have been using this app for over a year and it just keeps getting better.
Since last recently the app becomes very difficult to use (without box hardware). I mainly used this app to tracking LAN devices for guests etc. However recently the know devices are changing IP address and the app confuses them with other previously occupied devices! Please recognise devices based on remembering MAC address and NOT IP address! This is major bug and basically make the Fing all unusable
Still needs a lot of work. Clearing of notifications for example. I had to reboot my router, so my Fingbox registered that as an 'Internet outage'. When I open the app it tells me this 'requires attention'. When I click on that section it just takes me to the speed test. With no way of clearing the notification. This also happens in other areas. Not great.
Magic tool for mapping and checking of a network. When the Fingbox device is added it is a great tool for securing and monitoring your home or office network. Mine is now running regular speed tests on my internet connection, blocking wifi devices that I don't recognise and alerts me of any network changes, eg, important devices going off line. It would be good if a Fingbox setup wizard was added to guide non-techie parents, eg, "here is feature X, this is what it does for you, shall I enable it?"
Just got the overpriced fingbox for black friday. Several promised features do not work, including the ability to block or pause devices. That was a big lie. The box is pretty useless. It'll be selling it on eBay.
Well, its a big yes for me.. Big help to monitor whos logging in and out of my internet.. Good job.. Eventhough i dont have the fing tool which is more helpful if i do have one.. But for the app itself i do love it..
The fing app is brilliant on it own but when used with their fing box it is even more so! I can keep tabs on every device on my network be it wired or wireless, I can block devices permanently, temporarily or schedule blocked times - great if you have kids! I can also wake on LAN which is handy for turning my server on from downstairs (lazy I know!), Ping tests and trace routes are also available. It also alerts me when a new device has connected to my network and gives you the option to auto block everyone's device or manually block. There are many more features that I don't have time to put here. If you have a network and want to control what goes on then get this app and the fing box
I've had Fingbox from the start, from Indigogo. They do a great job of making use of the radio scanning ability of Fingbox, but I feel like there's still room for improvement in terms of notifications upon detection of devices and other things. Never stop improving, but a great product!
I tried 8 of them, this one is the most versatile one. My digital fence keeps alerting about a new phone that is a known device in the device list and even marked as to ignore.
Is great again after latest update. They got rid of intrusive nag message about getting an account.
The FIRST app I download EVERYTIME I get a new device! The volume and quality of services you provide all in one place, for free, is a rarity in an app market flooded with "free" apps that are nothing short of castrated so the developer has something to offer in their "pro" version. Not to mention all of those apps that shove an ad in your face every time you touch the screen! In an age ripe with both technology and threats to that technology, your FREE app provides us with the means to guard ourselves and those close to us (family, not people trying to steal wifi ;D ), and identify and handle ANY threats (sometimes the biggest networking issues are of one's own making) on one side, and yet it simplifies , educates, and has the capacity to take the complex cyberworld of networking right to those who might think you're a potty mouth for saying 'ip address'. The most amazing thing Fing does is give functionality to ALL skill levels. Most apps that attempt to do this lose all relevance to advanced users, but I'm still using it to help people with their networks, and maybe to WOL things around my house for fun. Ok, laziness. This app and this company have been doing incredible work for years, and its greatly appreciated!
Unit does not accurately measure internet bandwidth. Support will not say when this will be fixed
Last update seems to have inserted more bugs. Refresh will no longer work; delete a network and it reappears; too many problems to use it now.
It does the job tho bumped this from 5 star to 3 due to the new update in the UI. Waste more time going there more sub menus to get the wake button and it will not save it if I had the settings to local, the old interface saved your preferences now I gotta do more than what took 3 taps.
It's an OK app. Useful but needs improved UI. Also could be made better and more useful if could be moved to SD card.
Does what it says and more. Thanks! OTG Network adapter doesn't work with Fing. It only works with Wifi apparently.
