Reviews From google play store

Looks promising, however, it doesn't support "Line". :/ Also, not sure if it had a chathead feature, as, I needed a multi-platform that can make Line & Fb in one space. Not sure how to add in plugins either. (I'm apparently not that tech-savvy..& I'm the family's "computer fixer technician". 😂😂) PS: May try this again, if it can have these features added.

Seems alright but only supports SMS/MMS, Telegram, and Facebook. Would be nice if it still included WhatsApp as well. The IM+ app supports many more services, it just doesn't have regular SMS and MMS as well, otherwise I would totally use it. By the way you need to add a way to import your existing SMS/MMS conversations because starting with a blank slate is unacceptable.

Just uninstalled and reinstalled and the horrible battery drain continues. I can no longer disable background battery usage either in the Disa settings or from the android menu and the disa menu option to run the app in the foreground is turned on and grayed out. --- Downgraded to and now I have the idiotic persistent "everything is running smoothly" notification, but at least my battery usage is fixed.

Recently downloaded the app, so far seem okay. Biggest problem is the app will not Run without granting permission to storage or giving it unlimited access to run in the background. I deleted FB messenger app and only use web browser to log into my FB feed for security reasons. For those same reasons I can not use an app that will not run unless granted access to storage.

Clean interface, a couple of useful plugins (Telegram, Facebook). Kindda disappointed by the fact that plugin development halted: whatsapp stopped working, xmpp never came up, missing OMEMO. Doesn't seem to be an interest in developing matrix or tox plugins. Audio/video could be useful via libjingle/jitsi.

This app is really convenient, when it works. It ran smoothly for a few days, but would crash every time I wanted to send a picture to someone. Not only that, it made it so that my SMS couldn't send pictures until I uninstalled Disa. Everything else runs smoothly as advertised, and I would love to see it improved. Currently though, it isn't a reliable messaging app.

Was very good but over the past 2 weeks, Facebook login keeps expiring. Update - App password method no better. Further update - problem seems to be due to running Disa on 2 different devices. Works fine as long as it's only one one device.

Only 26.5 mb. To solve 2 factor authentication issue with Facebook, follow these instructions derived from a user site: Use laptop to view the full Facebook site (desktop), go to Settings, Security, and down near 2 factor settings there’s an option to generate App Passwords. Generate a password for Disa and write it down. Use that as your password to log into Disa. Keep the password somewhere in case of new phone, reset, etc. You can re-generate an app (October 2019).

LOVE this app!! I had it several years ago, but I remember I bunch of ads coming up and that's super annoying. Hope that doesn't happen this go around? I just love that you can put FB messenger & texts all together, but also, you can customize notifications for each contact!! FB messenger wants you to put your texts through them (and I would), but when i can't customize individual text tones, I'm out. 😒 I noticed this app wasn't available on Google play for a while, so glad it's back! 😁

I love the possibility of merging conversations & having all in one place. Unfortunately it doesn't include Whatsapp anymore and messenger is trouble (need to relog every month or so with a fastidious process of being blocked for security reasons, waiting 24h, retrying to log,...). Not the developpers' fault at all, but it's a big inconvinience

this app is one of a kind. I've never had any issues receiving or sending messages via text or Facebook. it has amazing functions not on the Facebook messenger app, as well as appearance settings to make it how you like it. definitely the app for someone who wants a better messaging experience, and all in the one app. hopefully this app will be around for years to come.

Light Facebook messenger, you can even delete your profile and still connect to messenger with this app. You don't get the features like video chat, but that is exactly what I want anyway. 5/5

Been using disa since its launch. It used to be a great app but unfortunately whatsapp stopped its support for disa, and now Telegram doesn't work as well. Hope its developers give some time to make disa great again.

Used to work great, uninstalled it for a while but recently re-installed it. The Facebook plugin doesn't seem to work at all if your account has 2-factor authentication enabled. (9-1-2019) Edit: Generating an app password worked perfect! Thanks much (9-2-2019)

When it works it's great but I lose my connection to my apps constantly and can't send messages half the time.

Works well for me, but any chance you can make the dark mode closer to black than gray? Would be cool for those of us with amoled screens. Thanks!

Unfortunately, since a few last updates (I believe) app crashes after 20-30 seconds. Basically unusable ;( Tried clearing cache, didnt help. I dont let Disa run in the background but I never did and it had worked fine before. Android 9, OP5T. Thats the only app causing trouble atm.

Very nice app and extremely handy. Got my Facebook and texts in one spot. I look forward to getting Skype sometime.

its exactly what I need (when it works). I'm not sure what throws the Facebook message functionality offline but I have been relying on Disa for FB messages for over a year and for whatever reason, Disa's connectivity to FB can be flaky. It used to happen only once every two months or so and I'd have to uninstall and reinstall a plugin before I was back in business. Now, it's happening much more often. Signed up for the beta testing team, though. Maybe I can help!

Worst, useless, hangs, not working, repeat message flashes Disa has stopped working

Support no longer supported. It keeps ringing twice. i tried reloading the plugins, reinstalling, etc. Nothing stops. I cant get support because Google Plus no longer offers company services. It was good while it lasted...

A msging app may not be the most exciting but Disa is by far one of my favourite & the one I have recommended the most. Three reasons for me: 1. Was tired of tracking multiple msg apps for msgs from the same ppl; 2. Space on my phone is at a premium. Fb Msngr in particular is a huge app; 3. Don't care for bloated functionality in a msging app. Disa addresses all of these. Been a user for two years. Thank you to the developers & keep up the ace work :)

Thank you so much for allowing me to avoid Facebook without having to lose connections to friends too obstinate to remember how text messages work. You the real MVP.

I love the idea behind this app, esp that the search fx works separately within individual applications, such as when i search in contacts within SMS it doesnt bring up Facebook contacts. (which is why i was on the hunt for a new messaging app) However, this app is EXTREMELY slow on my phone. it takes so long to open a message that it just wasnt worth it to make the switch from Facebook Messenger SMS to this one. I also missed my stickers & definitely the chat heads.

Just got an update through Google Play, and surprised to see it's still on API 21 (Lollipop). Google said: "Google Play will require that new apps target at least Android 8.0 (API level 26) from August 1, 2018, and that app updates target Android 8.0 from November 1, 2018." So somehow you guys slipped through? :P

Has become an increasingly unusable app crashing every 30 seconds or so. Won't upload videos and will flounce after a message is sent.

DO NOT INSTALL! Disa used to work well, I did an update and now it gives me an error saying, "WhatsApp has disabled any new user from registering..." blah blah...😠 Moving to another app that has better reviews and seems to be working just fine... the app is Parallels... REALLY!!! I've been using this app for more than one year already! No warning, just stopped working!

Love this app way more than Facebook Messenger. My one major complaint is that contact profile images don't show up. It only shows the initials of the person's profile. It's a major hassle to scroll and read each name instead of just looking for a picture.

Didn't really follow through on what I wanted. I was able to combine my sms messaging with Facebook messenger but it had trouble playing nice with Whastapp and it was never able to send video clips through text. Not terrible overall but not what I was looking for. Ended up uninstalling.

Facing authentication issue in Telegram. It says " Auth Generation Failed" need fix please

I love Disa and have been using it instead of FB Messenger for a while now. Are you planning to add chat head functionality? That would make the app perfect for me.

Facebook service keeps disappearing. Esxh week I have to re-add the Facebook service in order to receive messages. Sadly don't know when it stops working until will open settings and check. Logged ticket at devs website and did not hear an answer for 3 months. Strongly dissatisfied as it used to work in the past

Disa is awesome. WhatsApp sucks. It's a real shame that WhatsApp have blocked Disa users. All credit to the Disa developer in trying to find a way around the problem. For the record, I'll be spreading the message to dump WhatsApp and move to a better more privacy focused solution. Long live Disa!

Great App, it is sad my whatsapp is not working anymore, i read the notice that it will stop working this January, it would have been better to leave the whatsapp for those of us that have already login before whatsapp stopped 3rd party, don't know what else to do with disa, i suggest any of these imo or viber to replace the whatsapp. Thanks

Almost a perfect app, but the Telegram plugin isn't working on Huawei Nova 3i. The logs have been sent to support. From the logs it's clear that the issue happens at the authentication stage (so I cannot authenticate and start using the plugin)

Does not work with WhatsApp as of 2018. Not the apps fault but it would help to get that upfront before being installed on phone

The only flaw I've found so far is the lack of ability to send gifs, you can receive them in FB messenger but you can't send them, quite a big flaw for many people I would imagine?!

WhatsApp is not supported, despite being mentioned in the app description. No further info in the FAQs. Not worth trying for those seeking to unify WhatsApp with SMS.

Excellent facebook messenger alternative. BUT since the last update the support at least of showing the animated stickers stopped. Please fix it and it would be great to even implement full support for them (sending - receiving)

love the app except for one thing i cannot figure out. it drastically lowers the quality of photoa i recieve. I am unsure what setting i need to change to stop this but this is a deal breaker for me.

I've been using Disa since around 2015. It's only getting better with each update. I'd highly recommend this for people who do not need full features of Messenger but they still want to connect to the service.

Excellent unified messenger implementation. Reliable, customizable and open-source. Hope the project remains alive in the foreseeable future!

Disa can see only 10 sms conversation. I have around 50, so it is unusable. Strange.

So seamless. I can't wait for future plugins to be developed. It has everything I could want in a message app. I was able to delete Android messenger and Facebook messenger lite because of Disa.

This app is good if you care about privacy, data leak, battery life, simplicity and no ads between chats. A good replacement for FB Messenger which is a real bloatware. Well done!

Good and useful app. I miss the "reply option" in a whatsapp conversation and also forward more than one message. It would be great to have this simple features in the app.

I... am deeply saddened by the loss of support for WhatsApp. Despite that, the Disa team (and also Sean) will always deserve 5 stars for this brief glorious moment in my mobile life. This isn't goodbye... but I'm no longer going to visit Disa so often since WhatsApp is the main means of communication in my country, because people are basically sheep. Another reason, however, is because I had to make another app my default SMS app in order block spammers. Which calls for a feature request: Can we please have some sort of SMS manager or blocker? I know it's a lot and I'm asking for something that could be a standalone app, but it might be a way to keep Disa alive, now that WhatsApp is gone. I'd suggest features such as: - Blacklist / Whitelist modes and the ability to save different filters; - Block and unblock new numbers based on regular expressions; - Send an auto-reply for new numbers so we can ask them to type an unblocking expression; - Keep a community based list of spammers; - Have an option to review and report spammy messages to 7726. I will keep on living with high hopes that we'll someday get support for WhatsApp again. Starting Jan 1st, my mobile won't be as cool :(

Great idea and concept. A bit of sluggishness prevents this from being a 5-star, but my opinion can be changed. ;)

It's great to be able to message my friends using this app instead of facebook messenger since I only use it to send messages and have deactivated my account. This app truly works.

The new notification setting does not offer the same level of customisation as the old one did. Would be good to revert this change.

This app is fantastic!! Gives you a dark mode for Facebook messenger! And combines texting. Can you add Hangouts support?? That would be great!! How do we contribute/support development? Would gladly upgrade.

disa worked well until today. android 6, app crashes often. restarted the phone, no success, reinstalled the app, ko. earlier impression: ellegant, customisable app. please look into this

battery usage is through the roof. didn't open it all day and still used 45% of my battery

It is good app, but battery draining like active navigation(map), I mean that I cannot use this application because my phone is dieing faster because of this app (((

I am not a fan, it says it can be used to combine multiple chat apps, however it only allows Facebook, telegram and text. No hangout support?

Used this app without any issues for well over a year now. Latest update looks much smarter and gave improvements I didn't know I wanted till they were there. No idea how why the average review isn't higher.

I never get notifications for messages. I ended up giving the few people who message me on Facebook (and refuse to message me on any other service) an ultimatum of "message me somewhere else, or dont talk to me" and uninstalled Disa.

i enjoyed having the consolidated place for mesaaging services, however Disa does not support several vital features of Facebook Messenger, such as facilitating money transfers.

Practical app, even though sometimes a little slow. Also, please add "Mark as read"-feature in preview.

The fact it doesn't work with WhatsApp is the nail in the coffin of this app.

Facebook service doesn't start again when switching wifi on in airplane mode (after switching mobile data off with airplane mode)

Am I right in thinking there is a permanent, unremovable notification saying that the app is working as planned? Can I remove this? Otherwise this is a good app but lacking platforms at the moment.

Loving this app!!! I can personalize messenger and texting in one simple app. Awesome!!!

Used to love this as an alternative to the insidious FB Messenger. Sadly the latest version keeps uninstalling the FB Plugin ...Hooray for Titanium Backup

Everytime switching to wifi, Disa disconnect facebook and telegram, means it only work while on mobile data. Plus. Whatsapp is not working no more, thus I think this app kinda useless for me

love it in facebook..can you add twitter and instagram .. it will be perfect ..i will give 4 stars untill you add them

I couldn't use it .the phone number format is not clear at all. U should add an explanation. Yes you said check a website but I must type the website address manuanlly .it's too long.

Need ability to disable drop down notifications. Otherwise it's pretty much perfect.

Battery drain 1,7% to 2,6% per hour! after last updates.... fix it please. (Galaxy S8)

Really missing notification categories to lower priority for "Everything is running smoothly" and hide it.

I love the concept I just wish I'd get my messages when I was connected through Wi-Fi

Very worst app, it says that it can run whatsapp behind however this app has no permission hence we can't use whatsapp with 2 different number

After leading me through several screens and having to verify thi gs like mnc ccn it comes out with a message of sorry we can't do it Very improffessional easy to avoid by a single update and cancel what's app plug in :(

Can't wait for the feature to customize message instances. Works as intended.

Third class app, WHATS APP BLOCKED THIS APP ... after installation/wasting ur data, at last moment they wil say sorry, its like when u reached airport & checked in, after that they wil tell u, flight is cancelled...

Great idea but Telegram authorisation fails so the only thing that works is sms

was able to set up messenger but app crashes when i try to open or i just get a report saying that the app stopped working.

This is the worst app I've ever used, it doesn't support whatsapp. Hi folks please don't waste your time downloading this useless app, this app has a lot of ads which slows down your phone.

Latest update is causing significant battery drain if not set to battery optimised.

rubbish. it tells my phone number is not a valid phone number. can not use it with whatsapp. horrible!!!

Not sure how else to get this information, I've searched online to no avail. I wanted to know how to change the display name that shows under my profile picture on Disa. I didn't enter that name and I would like to change it. Please tell me how. Thank you.

unfortunately after the latest update the app is crashing everytime I want to open it

I'm not sure what changed, but it's almost impossible to tell who wrote what in a busy group chat with the new update

Whatsapp has disabled new users from register their account with Disa's plugin! And they ask not leaving bad reviews! How come? Now the app is useless! Deleting now....

I uninstalled it and will let everyone know that they better read everything in/on/about disa as explained in tos and investigate all they can about third parties

unuseful app because not run for whatsup new user.

great alternative to Facebook messenger. will you be adding stickers and reactions?

can only do android texts, facebook and telegram. what about hangouts, and all the rest?

Shows only 10 conversations out of 100+

I have downloaded it for WhatsApp but it didn't work out.

this app is good but there is no friend list for facebook so I can see who is online

Whatapp is not plug in. please do not installed this app. Save your time and data.

It is nice app it help to run WhatsApp by both numbers

when i first try to add telegram already failed authentiction

It's good but how I can add all contacts list

It is really irritating app, it is making it download and saying I m sorry for your incovience

App is install but showing problem while opening app hate it

I can't use Whatsapp on Disa App. Please fixed it

Won't use messenger again thanks to this.

With service running does that mean im active online can i appear offline
