    I had no problems with this app on my Samsung Galaxy S10 prior to the December 2019 updates. Now it crashes every time I try to open it! It never even makes it to the channel list! It's terrible! Update 5/24/20: for the first time since Dec 2019, the app opens and streams TV! I'm still only giving 1 star for taking 5 months to fix it and until it's stable.

    now Update: 5/10/20. Still no video. Only audio on OnePlus 7 Pro. All other video apps including Xfinity work fine on OnePlus7 Pro. Only Directv doesn't work. I don't think these guys (Directv app developers) really know how to design an Android app. Ever since the October 2019 update this app has been busted. After the latest update from 4/17/2020 the app doesn't even load. So it's getting worst.

    sports Extremely unstable, even on home wifi. Please fix this app. It's had problems for a couple years now. I'm paying service to allow this access to my programs and cannot get them 95% of the time. It works only when I uninstall app, restart device, and reinstall app, but the wind has to be out of the North-Northwest, when the moon is full, during a leap year in the summer solstice!!!!

    obsub This app fails more than 90% of the time when trying to open it. When I do get it open, it will not connect to my DVR. Even when I am standing right next to it. And trying to watch something that would be free on my t.v./DVR the app tries to charge me. Do not waste your time downloading this app. And by the way I have an S9 plus that is up to date on my software.

    elo Of all the streaming apps I have on my phone this one is by far the worst. My stomach sinks every time I think about having to watch something on it. I can rarely watch anything without it buffering what seems like every 3 minutes. Even when I'm on my own wifi at home. App takes forever to load and is very slow.. Very disappointing coming from from the likes of AT&T. It doesn't seem like they even want to compete in this market. Maybe I should switch my entire account to Xfinity.

    app Works OK but still needs improvement. I like to preview the guide in the afternoon to see what's on in the evening. Unfortunately, when I change the guide to the evening time slot, select a show to read the description and then return to the guide, the time reverts to the current time. At least it doesn't crash as much as it used to!

Frequently have to restart the app just to get anything to play, today, the screen just keeps loading and then it will tell me streaming not available.....ok so what is the point of the app if its not even going to work?     If you're having recent trouble TRY THIS: Uninstall "DIRECTV" and install "DIRECTV for Tablets" This worked for me! After the DIRECTV app updated on my tablet it would open then do nothing. Tried uninstall/install several times with no success. I went to change my review and saw there were 2 diff Direct tv apps. I don't know if the "DIRECTV for Tablets" is new, but it works whereas the recently updated "DIRECTV" app does not work (but did before the update, if poorly at times).

    It use to be a good app, but now the app is out of sync with the voice. Also, just like everyone else, I can be in the middle of watching a show and it freezes!!! I force stop the app, clear cache, clear data, and restart my phone. It only fixes the issue for about 20mins, then I have to do the process all over again. I've had to download other tv apps to watch my favorite shows because of this problem. New update to fix this, please!!! Ugh!!!

    Hasn't been working for a month or two now. Everytime I open the app all it says is "Video stream is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later (4100)" pretty crummy time for it not to be working. I haven't been happy with directtv for awhile now. I guess this is my reason to finally cancel.

    This has got to the worst app in the history of apps. One day it works perfectly then doesn't work at all for weeks on end. Good luck trying to talk to anyone about it. Technical support doesn't speak enough English to understand my problem. I was on the phone with them for over an hour one day with nothing to show for it. I guess I'll just have to stick with my very trusty Movies app. GARBAGE!!!! If I could give it zero stars I would.

    Absolutely one of the worst apps I have ever used on the Google store. It's a basic afterthought to DirecTV/AT&T. I have never gotten the show transfers to work between my phone and my DVR. The streaming crashes all the time. It's so bad I don't even use the app anymore. I should have stayed with Dish. Going forward I'll be cutting off satellite completely and will go with YouTube or Hulu.

    This app used to be really handy.... now the app literally NEVER functions properly. Whenever I can actually get into the app (bc it constantly stalls while opening, which kicks you out), it's either freezing or not giving me access to channels that I actually have. Had I answered a year ago, I would have definitely rated with at least 4 stars, but I cant currently give a good rating to an app that never works

    As soon as it loads, it crashes. EVERY TIME!! I have rebooted and uninstalled, reinstalled and nothing. Kinda a LAME app. I do NOT recomend it. Just keeps getting worse. Considering how long this has been going on, I do not think they care, and that they will not put the time in to fix it. Don't waste your time.

    Does not work, lets you get as far as loading channels, freezes, then cuts out !!! Please fix this !!! One of the only reasons I got Direct tv was so that I could watch it on my phone when I was away from the house, which is always !!! No reason to have cable if i'm never home to watch it and if I can"t watch it on my phone i"m wasting $100. a month !!!!

    Keep finding out that I have missed payment on bills because DirecTV has not emailed me Bill's as requested. I just paid $132 for my bill and pass bills that were considered late. I asked to be emailed a paid statement and have yet to receive it. DirecTV need to put more money back into the system and fix it rather than pay CEOs bonus pay. Bunch of BS.

    Ever since AT&T bought DirecTV, this app, has taken a nose dive. Trying to access the menu, search for a show, disable autoplay on startup, even just clicking on a movie to watch.. all cause the app to crash. I'm not even going to look for more ways to be disappointed by this app, I'll just switch back to another streaming service now, any other service. Sadly I used to enjoy it, now it's not worth the trouble. Pure garbage.

    I had the app for a while and it was working well. I tried to access it and now I can't even sign in. I changed the password and that didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled, that didn't work. I called the company for assistance and the person couldn't help me either. Now I'm waiting for a call back from someone else and its been 8 hours now with still no call back. So my rating can't even be recorded because it doesn't have a "it sucks" option and in order for my review to be recorded I had to click on 1 star

    Crashes all the time. If you have to pause and minimize to do something else, you need to log back in. DVR lets you fast forward commercials but on the app you have to watch the same 4 commercials over and over until you want to throw your device against a wall. When the app crashes every few minutes you have to watch from wherever the app feels like starting your show from and you cannot skip to where you were. There are like a BILLION sports channels! What the heck????

    Last week we tried watching a show and we could hear it but no video this week we could see it but no audio. Two different devices with the same problem but hey when there is no other choice except for DirectTV they dont have to be reliable. Awful app, super slow, horrible customer service. Everything we come to expect from the wonderful service.

    Congrats... Yet another epic fail brought to you by AT&T. Way to screw up again! Your directv app sucks, it's is stunningly unreliable, shuts down randomly and won't load random channels at random times. Then it boots you out and you have to re-sign in just to be abused some more. Every update makes it worse but in different and unpredictable ways. Yippee.

    I have a Note 9 with the most up to date os. This DirecTV app crashes every single time I open it. I've spent hours on the phone with tech support and no one has been able to fix the problem. They keep telling me that someone will call me back. No one has ever called me back. Last night I finally got it to work. The location services must be on. If it's off, it crashes. If it's on, it works fine and allows me to connect to the DVR. Crazy that no one at tech support could tell me this.

    I love being able to watch my favorite shows from anywhere BUT I am constantly having to uninstall and re-install after watching maybe 2 episodes. It will freeze up and not load after that. Also, the past couple of days it is skipping way ahead and I miss at least a quarter to half a show. Please get these issues fixed!

    The app is complicated and takes awhile to let you and in app. Then it continues to tell you you don't have the app installed yet it is. Go into Google Play and see if an update is necessary and it is not. I go back into the app, yet "nothing is wrong" but it continues to show the message about something went it, return to the app, close the app. shutdown.

    After latest android update, Directv app starts to load, but right as the live channels screen starts to load, it crashes. I've cleared cache memory for the app a few times. Hard reboot of cell a few times. This started after the latest Android update. Surely, Others are affected as well. PS., since the apple IOS v. 9 will not work with your app, and hasnt for over a year, this android cell is the main way we watch Directv. This affects the paid advertiser ROI stats.

    App is trash. Keeps force closing and crashing. Att and direct TV should be ashamed of themselves with the quality of product they have now. From the satellite TV to the app. Nothing works right. I have to unplug the swm power supply every other day or I get a 775 error. No one to come out and look at it either. This is before Corona shut everything down, I'm just now getting around to posting about it. If I had any other option for tv or internet I'd change in a heartbeat.

    Latest update 12/22/19 broke the app. The app functioned as it should until I opened it and was prompted to update in order to continue. I installed the small update and when I opened the app it logged in and the box that says loading channels pops up and the app crashes. It happens every time I open the app. I'm operating on wifi with my S9. The update to solve bug fixes broke the app. As of 3/17/20 there has been no fix. The app will not stay open longer than 5 seconds before it crashes.

Constantly crashing, won't let me access all the live tv stations while in my home, won't let me stream shows off of my DVR while in my home (5' from DVR), latest error message says I'm trying to stream to multiple devices and shuts app down. My phone is the only device I have ever used and is the ONLY device I have besides my desktop computer which is plugged into the network via cable. Won't open until after multiple attempts, crashes and locks up phone...HORRIBLE!!!

    3/13/2020 Oh my sweet jeezus. The app USED to be great and THEN at&t bought out directv. Just like always at&t screws up something that wasnt broken. PLEASE go away at&t!!!!!! The app wont even start up. I have sent multiple feedbacks and have gotten NOTHING in return....but dammit if you are 2 seconds late on your bill they sure do climb up your backside to get paid.     . It is a very useful App whether you are traveling or near home. Since the App Logs you in, it would be interesting to have the same channels available that you have at home. I'm sure that would be a little complicated to provision. It is very handy for entertainment and the news.Thank You.

    Correction, have to be on home wifi with location on 3/8/20 It's a miracle!!!!! It works again!!! I can watch my DVR without it crashing! Edit, still no update. Still constantly crashing. May be time to cancel services. Worked fine until my phone update last night. Live TV works fine, but anytime I try to access one of the menus, the app crashes. I use this all the time to watch my DVR and now I can't. Edit: Still crashing after latest Directv update on 12/20 when I try to access the playlist.

    Still the same Doesn't even work. Crashing all the time . Left mesg and emails, no reply of any kind. Installed and installed still crashing. Sent in feedback, like talking to space. Called and customer service said will leave message with technician service to call me back to help me out. Guess what, that's right haven't heard anything from them. I heard ATT doesn't care about the DirecTV section, I see it's true. When contact up in two months going to change out. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Used to work great. Hasn't worked at all for a few weeks. Just keeps crashing. Bad time to have a TV app not work when everyone is looking for entertainment options during lockdowns. Perticularly when you are still paying more than most to have these options available to you.

    Keeps closing. Been like this for two weeks. Extremely frustrating, eapecially when I use the app to keep up on local severe weather since my satellite goes out when it sprinkles. Not near as satisfied as I was the first time I had DTV. Please fix this. Apps for Android.

    Used to be good. But recently it's not displaying some channels, and when you put the channel list in a mode where the channels are there, they refuse to play and open the next lowest available channel . Going downhill.

    Slow slow slow. Slow startup. Slow navigation. Slow response. Slow authentication. "Cannot play content at this time". "Network error" "Unable to authenticate " and other errors happen randomly then go away on a subsequent try, or after forcing the app to close and restarting it. My home network is rock solid and no other app has issues. Clearly the QA process is severely lacking. This app is a major disappointment.

    How did this get rated 3.4 stars when over 97 percent of the reviews I've read are so negative yet true ! Screen will blackout after viewing for about 10 to 15 minutes or app crashes. This has been since One UI 2.0 update. I see that other people are experiencing the same problem. When will you fix this ? Been over a month of customers complaints, bad reviews and no response from the developer ... Really ... Shame ! ! !

    This app is ridiculously glitchy and inconsistent. The fact that DVR shows need to be downloaded to the phone in order to watch when not at home is silly enough. But when I have it set to auto prepare, it only auto prepares the shows whenever it feels like. Which is never most of the time. Or after shows have been prepared and downloaded by then disappear from the downloaded section for no reason at.

    After today's Chromecast update, now I can no longer watch the DirecTV app. It has audio but no video. I tried many channels with same result. I am able to access the app fine on iPhone Smartphone, but Chromebook has no video. Can you please report this to DTV so the app can be fixed? Please, I watch every night on my Chromebook. Oh and I powered the Chromebook up several times with same result.

    I cannot log into my account! It keeps telling me my email and password are incorrect, but it is correct. I went to create account and it tells me I already have one. Well, duh, I don't understand why I can't sign in. This is way more complicated then is necessary, the app won't even send me a link to my email to correct the problem. Smh I hate this app!!

    Keeps crashing. Uninstalled, reinstalled, same thing. Thinking about cutting the chord because at least with such apps as HULU or YouTube etc you get live tv, plus sports, plus DVR through cloud storage for shows and no need for hardware you are forced to pay monthly for plus monthly insurance on the hardware. Over it... I can see why so many people are cutting the chord. There are only a few tv stations i like anyways. I pay over 200 month and for what? Not worth it anymore.

    One of the worst media apps EVER. DirecTV how can you not even get rotation orientation correct? Want to go through the guide? Portrait only, select what you want, then rotate to landscape to watch. How stupid is that? Also, to play a station should be touching the main bar of the station and info on what shows are on that station should be the small button to the right, DirecTV has that opposite. The app was designed by a moron.

    I can hear what's playing but there's no image on any of the channels. Used to work great up until not too long ago. Also looks like I'm not the only one having this problem..... Fix it and I'll change my rating. Edit - It's February and still not fixed.....nice. Coming up on March and still not fixed.... what a joke. New update STILL did not fix audio only issue. TODAYS UPDATE 4/23/20 still didn't fix my audio only problem. Just a black screen no video and only audio. This is on my OnPlus7Pro

    Doesn't work since my phone update. It loads and then just crashes. I used this app all the time and can't anymore. Customer service is terrible and you can't understand them half of the time. The bill has gone up every month with no explanation. Going back to cable. Spectrum will buy out your contract.

    Terrible App and Customer Service. The app hasn't worked in 4 wks. No updates to customers on App fixes and no recognition by AT&T that there is problem. I like most of the other customers feel like this a critical App based on our current state of affairs. I plan to looks for another provider. Very disappointing for such a large well branded company to provide such a low end App at such a critical time. Which begs the question who is in charge and why would let them guide your comapny.

    This is possibly the worst app I've ever used on any device...EVER. User interface is HORRIBLE. App hangs during playback of shows and you have to start over and if you try to advance to where you left off, the app makes you watch all of the commercials. I had to restart the app twice and ended up watching 20 mins of commercials to try to get back to where it had kicked me out. DIRECTTV should fix this app or throw it in the trash. Hire a 3rd party to write it because you obviously can't.

    I hope to see the end of direct tv soon. When they became ATT things just went to hell. Other than Sunday Ticket I would close my account today. I can not get AMC to load on this app although it's in my package. Waste of time to call for help. Direct TV went from top5 in customer service to off the bottom of the chart. ATT killed another great service and company. Don't bother with AT&T DIRECTV it will be gone in less than 2 years.

    This app is good when it works but unfortunately that is not very often. Most of the time you can't get past logging in before it crashes. Being able to keep up with my shows while on the go is an important option for me to have since I'm away from home more often then not. At this point I feel like DirecTV may not be the best option for my needs if the app is not upgraded!

    App crashes often on both cell phone and Fire Tablet. Recognizes my ChromeeBook as cell phone and only shows cell phone size screen, whereas Netfilx, HboGo, Showtime, and all the other channel stand-alone apps (History, Bravo, TLC, CBS, etc) recognize and use the chromebooks FULL Screen. This is really embarrassing for a company that has been around as long as ATT and DirecTv.

    Horrible experience with this so called "app". The only action it seems to be able to manage is to constantly crash. Press the search button? Crash. Press the menu button? Crash. Press any button? Crash. For the amount of money I shell out a month for DirectTv, you would think they could get their ish together.

    Terrible app. I do not get to watch live tv anytime anywhere. And I struggle watching recorded programmjng as well. If you like to watch live TV while not at home, do NOT subscribe to Direct TV. YOUTuBE TV is SO KUCH BETTER. Wish I were not stuck in a two year contract. I would cancel if I could.

I am a very loyal customer, but whoever is in charge of the app, I'm not loyal to, he needs to be FIRED. Once again I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Guess what....still doesn't work.     Crashes, didn't load, Update broke app no longer can watch recorded tv. It is suppose to connect to the DVR but wont find it despite both being connected to the wifi and manually entering the ip. Still doesnt find dvr. Says I have outdated version but I do not.

With how much is charged these days for data and how much tv costs, I was so impressed that AT&T gave free data access for subscribers. Now I'm starting to think they're trying to take it away. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didn't work either.

    This app used to be good a long time ago. Now its straight garbage. My phone won't sync to my DVR, so I can't download my shows before I travel. When I send an error report (as they suggest), it says that it can't send an error report either. POS APP! I would give negative stars if i could.

    I like the app and the fact that I can watch TV data free with my package. I am giving a low rating because the channels I watch the most no longer work on my app. I have uninstalled the app, restarted my phone, and sent and email to the email listed on the app... this started about 2 weeks ago and not fixed yet. I have 5 channels that do not work... AMC, WE, IFC, Sundance, and HDNet movies. I will change my rating once those channels are back working on the app

    You all REALLY need to improve this app. I travel 90% of the time, have the Ultimate package & certain channels are not available on the App. My local channels are no big deal, but the rest of them should be made available...ESPECIALLY The ones that are only viewable with the Ultimate package. Also, WE Tv hasn't had clear audio for weeks. You all have 30 days or else the $1000.00+ I pay per month (2 home lines, 2 internet networks, 4 mobile phones, AND satellite TV) will go to your competitor!!

    I was watching a show, it played 5 minutes and in mid sentence went to advertisments, showed over 5 minutes in ads then back to show. Finished the sentence, then showed 85 seconds of ads. Very nice quality of picture. I did get to see the entire show but say to many advertisers breaks. You are showing the same advertisements over in the same break.

    Ok, this use to work fine but for th past couple of weeks it's been shutting down on the "loading channels " screen. I wouldn't care if I didn't like using it quite often. Get the Techs on it and fix this mess! I know I'm not the only one experiencing issues.

    I had originally given 3 maybe 4 stars. Reason for reduction? App will not let you cast to tv. Who wants to watch tv on a little bitty screen? This is mgt decision by direct tv to keep consumer from getting additional tv viewing without paying for it. Really, I'm discovering I don't need cable at all. I'm very close to cutting cord. Take heed direct tv. Give me casting or risk losing my subscription....Well, after reading the other reviews, I count myself among the lucky ones. App never crashes.

It constantly crashes it constantly optimizes as it says, and I will be canceling my service with DirecTV after my experience. It worst on my Apple products. Whoever did this app should be fired.     It's is a struggle to keep from freezing. Any time that you switch to another program and back it will have to be restarted. Constant error message "try again" or "cannot play content at this time" but it will when reset. Please fix this!

    Why does the directv app require permission to make and manage calls on my phone? There is no reason for this. It is an attempt at invading my privacy. If this is your mode of operations i am seriously considering terminating your company's invasion into my home. I have had directv for over 15 years but that will change. I will not surrender my privacy just so AT&T can spy on u.s. citizens. Allowing AT&T to buy out directv was the biggest mistake that company ever made.

    Updated. A year later and DirecTV is still telling it's clients to go eff themselves. The DVR on the go portion is an absolute joke. I'm constantly having to reload the app and reset my receiver just to get it to connect. Just to find out 6 hours later I'm no longer connected to my DVR. Having to restart the process. The technicians running this app clearly are the B Team

    Terrible crashes before it even opens this scares me since I talked to one of their techs who said they launched their last satellite and they only last about 10 years so after that it will all be streaming and through the app from what I can see now that will be the end of DirecTV since they can't even fix the app they always rave about on commercials.     Last month or so app jus shuts down after opening, sent a review complaining yet nothing has been done, will change rating once I can use the app. I pay a monthly bill for cable access yet I use my phone more often than anything to watch TV so I am paying right now to not watch TV so I am not real happy about this. And after reading all other ratings, it seems this has been going on for quite some time and nothing has been done so maybe it is time to find a new provider, customer service sucks.

    Login issues on some devices. Issues on network apps saying not part of my package when the channel is. USA and ESPN for example if I am lucky enough to log in. Directv app crashes EVERYTIME I try to watch something on ABC. Directv is a hot mess EVERYWHERE!

    Very slow and glitchy, when it actually decides to work. Force closes almost every time I open it during the load up process. DirecTV went downhill big time when AT&T bought them out. Been a customer since 2012 and have has the app since then. Used to be much better.

    Haven't been able to use this app in ages. I've followed all instructions to stop all apps running in the background and restart. Tried force stop. The app will act like it's loading and then I get an error message. For the outrageous amount I pay for Directv/AT&T, this app should work great.

Paying my bill takes 30+ minutes and gives me a headache every single month because you don't have a easy way to pay the bill, such as in your APP!

The app wont load and its saying I cant watch my show over the internet because vod is not activated. It is on the main account. I watch my shows at work, syfy is not a paid channel, I should be able to watch my show. I hate ATT

    Okay so this app is the worst I have ever seen. I hardly get to watch any of the shows I want to watch. I have to download the app for the show I want to watch oh and I still can't watch because direct TV sucks. Every time I call I get the run around. If it wasn't for the discount I get from at&t I wouldn't have them or if my area offered spectrum Xfinity or at&t uverse. You guys seriously need to revamp your app and have the programming we actually pay for. 0 stars

    For the past two months when watching show for on demand, most of the skips parts of show. The the app my jump from 2 to 8 mins in the show which I have complained on numerous occasions. It is so bad that I'm looking into other streaming services. Even the DirecTV for tablets will not even install on my tablet.

    Fix the bugs! I used to use this app a decent bit and it was pretty flawless, these last few versions are garbage. Full of bugs, the app shuts down as soon as a click on anything! So I ran the update and that fixed nothing... I am very let down, it's useless.

    The streaming is terrible. The commercials are way too long and frequent. It doesnt have the option for floating screen. If you deviate from the app for just a moment you literally have to start all over loading the app and getting authorized.

    Slow and sluggish app. One of the worst interfaces of any streaming app. I try to watch on the computer and you can't fast forward on shows that aired years ago. Just plain stupid. Forces you to watch 5 minutes of commercials and you can only pause or go backwards. Fix this please.

    3/15 FINALLY WORKING, tho my Playlist is Significantly Incomplete - why?? 2/27/20 re: prob w this NOT Opening, just stalls then closes. Found an update, which did complete, tho problem still persists. WILL NOT OPEN from either app icon or Play Store. It starts to, shows "loading channels", starts to open 'home' pg with "Live TV" at top, stalls then closes & shows folder where icon resides. Cleared caches in DirecTV & ATT apps, in case prob related to that, then restarted phone. Was FINE 2d ago!

    Awful. For a major player in the media market this app is terrible. Constantly crashes, my Playlist from my dvr only shows recordings in December (it's May), very cumbersome to navigate. Just pathetic.

    Everytime I have tried to login, I get the error message, "Login Failed: Error 100001". I have never had any problem a few weeks ago, but now it's like this every time.
