I can't imagine a way in which this could be less useful. You can't download files. You can't upload files. While the automated camera upload does intermittently work, you can't control where the photos go. The previous MyCloud app wasn't perfect, but mostly did the job. This is a downgrade to the point where there's actually no reason to install it.

Still terrible. I can't stress enough that this is a nightmare of an app and something that completely gimps the use of your WD NAS with insane management choices. Why can't i upload anything but photos and video to my NAS? 1 e.g. I need to transfer a pdf scanned on my printer from my phone but there is no possibility. Despite it being possible in the old app/OS. If you haven't upgraded your NAS to this, don't! If you haven't bought a WD storage device before, DON'T! Update: still bad.

Slow, clunky, no option to upload files, folders, and music... only photos and videos. I expected more... Got less... Extremely disappointed. If I wasn't forced to upgrade to os5 in order to access my files abroad, I would have just stayed with os3... at least THAT app I could upload all types of files AND folders like PDF, Office files, zips and such from my phone... The browser page on a computer isn't much better...

Several good things since the upgrade to OS5. File names are readable now in the app. Before you only saw part of the name. The web interface allows you to scroll more easily through your file lists. There was always a hiccup with OS3 and earlier. One problem is that there isn't a 'keep offline' or a download feature. I cannot access an excel file from my phone using the mobile app. That is a big flaw. Cannot download it or copy it. App is useless to me because of this.

There's no way to limit access to your NAS to just your network. This app forces you to open it up to the world if you want to be able to look at your own photos on your phone while in your home. That's a massive security issue. By design, they are making your data significantly less secure.

Finally been forced to 'upgrade' to OS5 due to more security failings in OS3 devices. I thought My Cloud OS 3 was bad, but this is a huge backward step. I can still copy files to my device, but only one file at a time! Why on earth can't I copy folders? Even the most basic file browser can do that. Yes, if I'm on the same network I can do this with any number of 3rd party apps, but I need remote access to multiple files. All this app lets me do is shuffle files around a single drive. Pointless.

I hesitated so long to upgrade from WD Mycloud OS3 to OS5. The OS3 app was poor and had limited functionality. After all the WD security failures with older firmware recently I decided to finally update to OS5. BIG MISTAKE! This OS5 app is worse than the old version. It has very limited utility and appears designed for people who only do very very basic things. On the mobile app, I'm unable to find why a picture shows up in my pictures, let alone where it's located in my file structure. Configuration and option settings are essentially non-existent. "Streaming" is essentially non-functional with two mkv files I tried. Backup of my android device results in a folder where everything is dumped. I'm so disappointed with WD.

Thought I could download stuff from my cloud server to my device. However it's not possible. It's not a cloud device if it's only function is a glorified backup server or a file server. Should have saved my money and invested in a removal thumb drive, external hard drive or an actual cloud service like Google. Very disappointed!

The App won't even let me log in. All I see is a loading circle for a brief moment and then nothing. Update: Finally accepted my login but the new app won't let me "save file to mobile device" if the file is more than a few megabytes And won't let me Move files to folders outside of the folder they are already in. These are two features that i use Daily and it is exceedingly inconvenient that they aren't present.

Just updated the app (2/18/21). It's backing up all my photos and videos again which it already backed up before. Why!? Update: Still one star. This app just got updated again (6/17/21). It lost its mind again. It's backing up my entire photos again on its own. This will be the third copy it's creating.
