Chithra Kannada Movie Songs
Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra, often credited as K. S. Chithra or simply Chithra, is an Indian playback singer from Kerala. Chithra also sings Indian classical, devotional, and popular music. She has sung in a number of Indian languages. K.S.Chitra started her journey with Kannada cinemas from the movie Arunaraga (1986). She went on to become a notable singer in Kannada film industry with her perfection in diction and fineness. Her solos and duets with SPB in Suprabhata (1989), CBI Shankar (1989), Hrudaya Geethe (1989), Matte Haditu Kogile (1990), Muttina Hara (1990) made her famous and she received great acclaim for portraying great deal of nativity in her singing. She continued to sing for notable music directors like Hamsalekha, K.Kalyan and Rajesh Ramanath. From the early 90s, she was the most preferred female voice in Kannada industry and Chitra sang for most of songs released for the entire decade. The movie Nammura Mandara Hoove (1996) brought her the first Kannada state award.
