Reviews From google play store

The interface is annoying. It is far too easy to navigate away from a story while trying to scroll, and there's no way to bring it back without retracing your steps from the beginning! The app itself closes just as easily, also without any way too restore it. It removes itself from the recent apps list & is not even in the app drawer. This really didn't make any sense! The icon that poses as a back button behaves in s totally baffling way! And there aren't any useful settings available.

I like this app. Don't really mind all of the ads. My problem with it is if you are reading something, and hit something wrong, you have a 20% chance of finding it again. Esp if you were following a link at the end of article. The other issue I have is not being able to choose content you care about. 2 stars for those issues. Plus 1 star for content.

This is bloatware. I am forced the keep it on my Samsung and can't uninstall it as per the manufacturer's default. Normally I can't be bothered to write a reviews, but the app asked me to give a rating today, so here it is. The content is decent, but I still see a lot of clickbait. It is slow to load, and that's also an annoyance.

Impossible to *permanently* disable the app on my phone. Their support team is happy to tell you how to only temporarily disable the app after you complain that you aren't able to permanently disable it. And of course they don't admit to you that this is only a temporary fix and the app will manage to get automatically re-enabled reasonably quickly.

I hate this app! When you click on an article 99% of the time you begin to read & then a pop up appears & asks that you allow cookies. And..... it will not stay uninstalled!!! I don't want it..... At. All. I have to uninstall this stupid app at least once a week. Even disabled it. It keeps returning and takes up battery and storage space. It's ridiculous!

It is very handy but the content is not very good. They show articles from websites that youre not allowed to read unless you pay, and they also show way too much CTV news articles even though it is well known to be unreliable information. They also show articles that are nothing more than somebody's opinion on a topic

The concept of Flipboard is good however its execution is falling flat I find it particularly disturbing that they give me Snippets of news only be directed and told by the sources that I only have 0 articles remaining and I cannot read the story as such it's current experience is it's a news teaser and hence provides no informational value. Also Flipboard sun's out a large high frequency of double caitians which adds to the frustration. Good thing the app is free but the cost is your time.

The ads are just getting more and more invasive. After reading issues about not being able to uninstall and if you disable it re enabled itself again, if that turns out to be the case, welp Xmas is coming up soon so I'm getting an iPhone that hopefully doesn't preinstall this junk.

Flip board is USELESS!! Puts real news on my screen, but then goes straight to the inane lifestyle articles I have no interest in. Politics, war, religion, weather. I couldn't care less about any of the other stuff. Keep your recipes and restaurant tevirws, entertainment non-news to your own selves, snd just serve up the important NEWS.

It is very difficult to tell the difference between the ads and the article. The ads are very distracting and make the article very difficult to read. Once you navigate your way through the eye - painful ads, you feel very cheated because the article is not very well written. And your eyes hurt after the ordeal.

One can barely read. There are so many advert. Ontop of the posts, over the posts, in the middle of the posts and once conted 43 adverts below the post. I stoped using Briefing / Flipboard because I do not want to scratch between adverts to find a few words to read. do not even try the gossip / celebrity section, it's even worse!!!! Allowing ads to a certain degree one can understand, but in this program it's way way way way overboard. so - no thanx.

A bit frustrating to use. Somehow, after selecting a story, I often lose what I'm trying to read as I start to scroll whereupon it goes back to the main page. Happens constantly. Plus it feels like the stories dont change too often. Two days later, I'll be seeing many of the same stories and I'm not signed in. Otherwise, the concept is good, of course.

Good app, only bad problem is mashable intrusive thing: if you have 5 or more topic tabs, you can't swipe right until last topics without annoying mashable opens automatically. On 4th topic, mashable opens instead your topic. When you back from this, 1st topic tab is selected again :( It's really bad and I'm thinking about uninstall app because that.

Will not open after Android Pie update. You can no longer swipe right on the Home page to get to Briefing. You can not pinch and expand to get to the option to enable/disable it.It will not open like any other app unless you swipe right from Home.I used this daily and it was great. Now it will not even open.It is still installed, and yes I tried to enable/disable with the pinch. There is no support from the website, and other forums have absolutely nothing about it other than disabling it.Any ideas?

Unable to log in, change password, or delete account. And most importantly, I cannot get HELP from the "help" option either. Problem exists in both the Briefing and Flipboard app. Edit: SAMSUNG PLEASE STOP FORCE FEEDING THIS APP ON US!!! EDIT 2: I have contacted you through that option and still have not received help so remove the generic response you made here because you're not helping me log on OR delete my account and make a new one.

Not enough diversity in the news sources. Painful to select a story to read only to discover one must pay to subscribe to that news feed. The news sources are decidedly biased politically. It would be nice to feature independent news sources which report, and do not create, news. In response to your suggestion to link my profile, I do not want to read news which mimics my personal beliefs. I prefer to read sources which are independent and that at least attempt to be unbiased.

I hate this blasted thing and would have uninstalled it many years ago if that were possible. I had successfully hidden it somehow, and now, like a poltergeist, here it is again on my new phone!!! I will have to see about force stop or disable or whatever so I can forget it exists, cluttering up my device memory with garbage!

If you like a bunch of one sided news this is for you. The makers of this app clearly have an agenda and are biased. News should come from all sources not just liberal or conservative becuse you can usally get to some kind of truth sifting through the BS spin they vomit out. This app appently doesn't think so. Plus why do these people force themselves on your phone when you get it. You don't even get the option to uninstall it. That makes me dislike them right from the start.

This app is full of fake news and ads that spam you. My response to their response! So its up to the user to tell you that your app is full of ads that look like stories. You know that as you get paid by all ads placed on your app. And as far as fake new think back to 2016 when almost every political post you put up was proven to be fake news and miss information put out by Russia. As you know, and now you act as if its any different now, please!!! Look at your app its all fake and all ads.

i can read, so I know I can disable, but not uninstall it. Here are my issues with this App that I do not WANT, NEED or USE: Each time my phone updates you "enable" it & disabling it AGAIN wastes my time. When I want the news, I can read LEGITIMATE news. Your links insult my intelligence & Closing them wastes my time. Your app takes up memory on my phone that I could use for an app I WANT, NEED & will USE. Pay attention to ALL of us! NOBODY wants your APP!!!!

I am using samsung galaxy so... I can hide it, but i can't get rid of. (as far as i know) when i open the brief, i get a flash of old news for a second, and only then the loading starts which by the way if i can't get rid of the damn thing it could go : based on interess, fresh news, or let us choose were it would come from. But no flash of old news, it is too fast to "recapture" anyways... Ps. some really unfrightening pictures can look really weird if there is no explanation

I'd rather get my news from real sources rather than have some other organization trying to figure out what it is that I like to read and what I don't like to read blah blah blah blah blah blah blah I really don't like flip briefing I think it's obnoxious The format is for those who only really read headlines and short picture fluff pieces. Go read the actual sources for yourselves. You might be surprised at how much you actually learn. Briefing is spying on you AND is subject to content filte

Not very happy with this app. It keeps wigging out. It doesn't show up in my app manager so I can disable it, and when I try to get to the "help" tab in the app itself to find where to disable Briefing, the app just shuts down randomly--making navigation difficult. NOTE: would recommend AGAINST installing on your Android if not already preinstalled. Once installed it apparently stays perminately on your phone and can only be disabled NOT uninstalled.

Enjoy, except for news sources that limit the amount of times that you can read their article. After you can no longer read their articles please do not continue to show their news. After several days your newsfeed is just a bunch of different articles that I cannot access any longer. And no I'm not going to subscribe to 20 different newspapers and magazines just to read the feed..

I have used the Briefing app for a few years, it is good for many topics except politics. I am sick of the political/world "news". I am not some angry conservative; its just that constantly reading intellectually deprived political hits on President Trump gets old. I like reading quality pieces: Is it too much to ask for real journalism today?

I would have rated it higher but, every story I click on to read turns into and endless scrolling through ads only to start reading the next paragraph and have the next Ad alter the screen arrangement and move the paragraph I was reading repeatedly. So since this has become more of a chore to use than it is convenient.

It can take up to 5 minutes get the answer to a short question. I wouldn't mind scrolling two or three times to get a little more background information but I want it to be my choice I don't want to scroll 25 times to get the answer to a simple question

Not sure how the picks articles "for me", but this news app fails to learn my preferences and always tried to fill the space with subjects I previously marked as undesirable. I uninstalled it a couple of years ago and gave it another chance on my new phone. Seemed worse this time.

Please add a black/night theme to read comfortably in the dark. Otherwise still one of the very best news aggregating apps around. While initial default set of sources is pretty standard, it doesn't take long to arrange the source lists and quick tabs to your liking, having all the specific news sites/topics/rss feeds/blogs/twitter channels/anything that *you* want in one place. Imho, anyone complaining about poor sources or the inability to disable the app doesn't know how to smartphone :p

Pop up ads are frustrating. Dont use the app very often because of them. To be honest I avoid the app because of them but sometimes open the app accidentally, decide to look around then close it when the first ad pops up. I dont mind ads placed in with the articles but detest pop ups you have to close.

When first installed this app it was great, but this past every time I get a notice about something going on, I click on it but it's either the last thing I see on Clipboard or never plus it keeps asking me to update if I want to read a article through Facebook or another app. Not happy !!

This is Mandatory Bloat ware that comes with Samsung devices. I found it installed recently out of nowhere after years of owning my phone. No complete uninstall is possible, only the option to disable. This is an unwanted practice that is anti-consumer and needs to cease. No one ever states they are glad to have unwanted software taking up resources on their devices.

Hardly any articles that are relative to me and I don't like the platform of the way articles are displayed when I do read an article. Too many ads and click bait. I do respect it's like that for a reason. Not my kind of storytelling even when I'm interested. Kind regards. Samm

The links to the stories are nice, but the fact that they link you to the Washington Post and you have to pay to read their website sucks. Then you can't even uninstall this application. You can only disable it. So, I'm forced to have something installed to link me to an article that I have to pay for. Not cool at all.

This is a nice app. But sometimes I receive notification, because I hear my phone was ringing or sometimes vibrating, but when I see nothing in there. It'll make my phone crush, because always give notification sound but nothing in there

Quite good for quick news overview, nice and intuitive UI. Putting 3 stars because there are absolutely no settings for built-in browser. It is also not possible to disable it and open news in external browser right away.

Too many one sided Opion pieces and hardly any actual news anymore. I would actually love to read news that did not revovle around the President for once. So sick of the propaganda being thrown at us day in and day out. It is propaganda when only one side is bashed day in day out for years and there is never any bad news for the liberal media's buddies, the Democrats. It get so old. Please stop being a part of this.

Too one-sided like the fake CNN. Have balanced info so people can make real decisions. You can tell the slant just in the verbiage that is used in the articles you choose. Trying to figure out how to delete you entirely since you're really liberal slanted opinion and not news..

wonderful news app I use everyday Very easy to navigate. l get local and National up to date news. if I was pressed to give a negative or something to change. I would say that having the app remember where the reader left off at would be something pretty useful.

An xlnt, up-to-the-minute news app w/voluminous sources from top notch journalism. Unfortunately, also contains some partisan propaganda tabloid trash like the 🤴of the 💩-heap, FOX "News"🙄 - always filled with prejudicial half-truths, deliberate divisive mis-information & outright lies (the reason I removed a ☆). No reputable news app should support that, IMO. Still, great graphics & customization, love the 'flip-style' plus very user friendly. Kudos🎉 to the designers & tech team!👍👏👏

All articles are poorly written. I would not reccomend this app to anyone. It will cause your phone to freeze and you will have to reboot your phone constantly. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP.

I appreciate the balance of news feeds. Doesn't appear to have a political agenda pushed throughout various briefings. I really am starting to appreciate this news source.

Love seeing stories on subjects I have selected. Otherwise, I wouldn't see most of them, even though I subscribe to four online newspapers and countless other information sources. Great article selections.

Stories are broken up with ads and even sometimes just end. Ads, ads, ads, ads, ads and guess what .... more ads. A minus 5 stars for incomplete stories and ads after every paragraph.

Update: Not only can I not uninstall this garbage, but now I've received an email indicating that they've had a data breach. Glad to receive the notice but I could have been better protected by BEING ALLOWED TO UNINSTALL IT; so irritating! Original Review: Bloatware I don't want and can't get rid of. it does allow me to turn it off, but it turns itself back on every few weeks. I'd give 0 stars if that were an option.

I use it everyday... serve to compile all of my interests... it is wierd though how sometimes it will grab out of date articles once in a blue moon

This app notifies me of random stories frequently throughout the day. Topics that I wouldnt consider to be breaking news. When I click on the story in my notifications tab I have to click my exit button 4 times to get this app to close out, each time it brings up ads, a list if other stories, another list of stories then it closes out. sometimes it notifies me twice, at the same time on the same story. I have disabled this app until you find a fix for these issues.

Painfully stilted... Frankly I find it hard to read anything on Flipboard. The only time I ever even glance at a single article is when I accidentally swipe right, and it shows up on my Samsung Android screen. It only takes about two or three sentences for me to realize that I'm wasting my time. If you want actual news reporting that's objective and unbiased, you won't find it here.

I would like a fair and unbiased app that showed fair and unbiased news and FACTS. Considering uninstalling flipboard for being left leaning, not down the middle. Flipboard seems to be very anti-Trump which means anti-American. Just my opinion which I assume I'm allowed to still have in this country. For now at least!

Navigating continually changes. Recommended articles can't be read without subscribing to article publication. Notifications are continuous (way too many). Links are slow. It can't be uninstalled & automatically re-enables (if disabled) after updates, which also can't be turned off. It takes up a bunch of memory and system resources. Just a terrible app 100%

The Flipboard app is great and I like using it all the time. It has great improvements to it and great to use. Thanks.

Very good app. Flip board works very well for news coverage and advance briefings on national news agendas. However, local news is still better on other platforms. But , I only read the national news and sciences mostly. The celebrity news continues to be insightful too

bloatware. came installed on my phone. can't disable it. removing the window shortcut doesn't actually disable it. edit: to the genius who takes us as idiots and responds to everyone with the same canned answer: there is NO briefing app that appears in any app manager because the app is coded in. you CANNOT disable it unless I root my phone. it's still included... it's PRE-INSTALLED garbage. this is bloatware plain and simple. don't treat the public as idiots. 🖕

Comes installed on my phone. And no matter how many times I stop or turn it off it turns back on. Decided to let it run for a while biggest issue is it wants me to create an account or I can only see news it wants me to see.

Good information Source but links to Publications like to Washington Post and New York Times eventually lead to a limit of articles that can be read without a subscription there.

3 stars for now until they fix the weather piece. It's always wrong. Then it will get 5 stars!

Briefing News App provides up to date news from local & national news syndicated sources which contain well written articals & stories from informed journalist from many parts of the world. Each day has enough troubles of it's own, but the remedy to all the ups & downs add to the quality of content brought to you from Briefing News for your personal enjoyment, releasing endorphins into your brain, enlightening your perspective with increased knowledge of what's going on around the world today.

I hate this app I installed it and I can't even open it.I tried to uninstall it and the next time I search briefer on play store to find another app i see the app and it says installed I do not recommend this app to anyone I would rate this app 0 stars but the closest thing was 1 star do not install and always check what other people say about the app before installing it always helps you make the right choice for some people this app works but for me it doesn't work

I guess Bixby is the new view in Note 9. But I cant seem to add Flipboard BRIEFING "card" to Bixby. It allowed me to select it, I logged in, then the Briefing card diaappeared. Bixby says there's nothing to show. Help?

it wont let me uninstall. ANNOYING APP! response to Flipboard response: I've tried to uninstall it multiple times. it keeps reinstalling on it's own. I've disabled auto-updates and somehow its constantly needing uninstalled over and over again. Your app is terrible, and now its annoying to continuously deal with. 1 star, only because zero stars isn't an option!

Just another news feeder which would have earned aversge score of 3/5 stars but the annoyance of receiving notifications on specific news items in topics that I DO NOT FOLLOW. For example, I do not follow sports, but yet I keep receiving notifications on team wins or player's victory and whatever. I never asked to follow sports topic and I after limited what news area -- not topics because that choice is unavailable, in notifications, I receive still news items of disinterest to me.

I think it sucks that I'm forced to have this app!!! It comes all ready installed on my phone using up valuable space I could be using for an app I want! And the app it self sucks. I open it today & one of the headlines were for a week in June... its almost Labor Day...

I love the app but why is it not opening on this particular Samsung Galaxy Tab A6, while I can access it on my other Samsung Galaxy Tab A6? I am baffled. Is there something that can be done please? Thanks.

Excellent compilation of stories I want...only knock is that it is just a bit slow adding breaking stories...understandably so.

This app is easy to use and very dynamic to suit the needs of anyone, from students to people in the workforce. This is my favourite app for news updates.

This came installed on my Samsung. Very low-quality, unethical news articles seem to always be on the top of the feed, though the news articles themselves tend to be buried with trivial gossip. I had trouble figuring out how to uninstall it as well, since it's pretty integrated to the phone.

Really easy to use and customizable, no problems at all with only a few ads. Great for just a quick news browsing.

I've disliked watching any type of news on the television since the tragedy of 9/11 and I'm also not convinced that any printed newspaper was ever actually created with recycled so, I got my news word of mouth from anyone I could then, Flipboard was born and they've been kind enough to bring to me the stories that matter to me, that have inspired me and brought me hope for a better tomorrow, stories that have made me shake my head with tears rolling down my cheeks asking WHY? Thank you Flipboard

Always lots to read always stays updated with information. You can miss your local news if you have this app. You always stay up to date with the news

Just updated to Android Pie and Briefing will not open, no icon available when zoom on homescreen. Tried emptying cache and uninstall to no avail. For now it's merely an app listed on my tablet taking up space.

I used to love flipboard. No so much anymore...too many articles are not available unless you subscribe. Other issues involve data security.

I like it's layout and format, very easy to read headlines and articles.

Since the update, it's almost unreadable. Gone are the pictures, and a format that highlighted one article in each category, replaced by a mishmash of cut-off titles and tiny pictures. It's now hard to see anything worth reading in the visual blight.

Most news organizations on this app are very biased. Update: I can't uninstall or delete this app without rooting my phone. Even while disabled, I keep getting notifications from this app.

I can't switch between Briefing and other apps- it doesn't show up in my list of open apps (when I press and hold the home button). The frequent notifications are annoying.

Like the app but would like the organization whose news feed is supporting the news article to be large so i can easily skip that source. Would also like op-eds to be separated from News.

Excellent service from the start One of the best out there. I Would recomend it to any one who likes reading the news, its formal factual information is checkerble. Dont mess with the best Briefing board online. From Zion.

Great story aggregator. Be careful what you accidentally click on or you will get more stories from sources you might not necessarily value. Always an interesting variety though.

Briefing Flip Board is good when looking for new quickly. Aside from that, it not only has the current news, but many article one may be interested i.e. photography, home decor, food, and world news to name a few. I would give it a 5 star, but sometimes the "flipping" pages part of app, and the deleting of articles gives me trouble which annoys me to no end. Other than that, it is a very good app.

nice easy to use, not obtrusive, does not bombard you with ads or anything like that. That is a major Plus!

One of the first apps I downloaded several years ago. I like the layout, flipping pages like a book. I am able to save articles, like them etc. Great job.

Flipboard is my primary news source. It provides a good perspective of what is happening in Canada the US. If you have extra time you can get lost in the variety of interesting articles. Bob

The past couple of weeks, I have been getting notifications for stores with an extreme right wing slant and a tabloid level quality of journalism. I would delete this app if it wasn't built in to the phone.

too many articles that can't be read without subscribing to articles origin . its irritating to tap a interesting headline and a subscription pop up covers article so you can't read it.

This app has often includes editorials/opinion pieces instead of neutral news articles without distinguishing between the two. I do not find it to be a reliable credible news source and I no longer use it.

Excellent Thanks Update news on current affairs, good political information about national and international news Perhaps it is only this kind of app ,i have seen till date

I like getting important news notifications but I find that if I click on a link in the article, the main page often gets lost and I can't finish reading..

the simple reason this gets the worst possible rating is that it cannot be permanently turned off. after every update it turns itself back on again. what good is an app you never asked for that integrates into the home screen and turns itself on against your wishes??! well, no good at all

Just another vehicle to make money ... a marketing tool. Much of the content just wants to sell you a subscription, is greyed out or covered and not readable. Therefore not content. Who needs the frustration. My time is too valuable to waste on a bait and switch app.

it's great because it's always up todate and I've never had any problems finding stories to read ! excellent job !

Very interesting topics, well presented. However this App just appeared one day uninvited, at least not conciously. It proved hard to track down and remove. My spouse loves it !

It works as a current magazine with your choice of subjects of interest. The app works very well and the updates and coverage can keep subscribers enticed enough to use it as daily news reference.

Keeps closing, which somehow caused all my apps to stop working. And yes, I tried restarting my phone

Good range of interesting articles to read and/or to keep within the app. I found I've enjoyed it more the more I use it.

An array of news and information sites which makes it easy to choose just exactly what someone might want to learn, or read about. With many different organizations sites, there is something for all.

Sorta new to Flipboard but so far I like the overall idea and easy access to multiple news sites/ information platform all in one place. Hopefully they wont ruin it with crazy advertising or unwelcome advertisment popups every few mins. That you seem to get bombarded with from all the other apps these days but so far haven't seen any so that's a good thing in my book. I understand that's a method for income for some apps they just annoy me and everyone else I think.

Love the app. My only complaint is that a lot of articles are tagged incorrectly and I have to constantly report or mute them because they're unrelated to the topic I'm interested in.

it is a lovely experience , only a few ads pop up only at least once a month .Do install it, it's worth it .Pity there aren't 10 stars to be rated from

I really enjoy & appreciate the info!.. but Not consistent, no harmony, more of a jigsaw puzzle.

Great morning news summaries with breakfast. This app has become my morning routine. While the local news on TV drones on about celebrity gossip and sports, I can read summaries of actual news about International events, business, science, and even a little politics. I can follow those summaries to read complete, in-depth news articles from newspapers and magazines I never read before. This app has broadened my reading list.
