The King James Version (KJV), commonly known as the Authorized Version (AV) or King James Bible (KJB), is an English translation of the Christian Bible for the Church of England begun in 1604 and completed in 1611. First printed by the King's Printer Robert Barker, this was the third translation into English to be approved by the English Church authorities.

James gave the translators instructions intended to guarantee that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its belief in an ordained clergy. The translation was done by 47 scholars, all of whom were members of the Church of England. In common with most other translations of the period, the New Testament was translated from Greek, the Old Testament was translated from Hebrew text, while the Apocrypha were translated from the Greek and Latin.

The Biblical apocrypha (from the Greek word ἀπόκρυφος, apókruphos, meaning "hidden") denotes the collection of ancient books found, in some editions of the Bible, in a separate section between the Old and New Testaments or as an appendix after the New Testament. Although the term apocrypha had been in use since the 5th century, it was in Luther's Bible of 1534 that the Apocrypha was first published as a separate intertestamental section. Luther was making a polemical point about the canonicity of these books. As an authority for this division, he cited St. Jerome, who in the early 5th century distinguished the Hebrew and Greek Old Testaments, stating that books not found in the Hebrew were not received as canonical. Although his statement was controversial in his day, Jerome was later titled a Doctor of the Church and his authority was also cited in the Anglican statement in 1571 of the Thirty-Nine Articles.

King James Version
The English-language King James Version (KJV) of 1611 followed the lead of the Luther Bible in using an inter-testamental section labelled "Books called Apocrypha", or just "Apocrypha" at the running page header. The KJV followed the Geneva Bible of 1560 almost exactly (variations are marked below). The section contains the following:
- 1 Esdras (Vulgate 3 Esdras)
- 2 Esdras (Vulgate 4 Esdras)
- Tobit
- Judith ("Judeth" in Geneva)
- Rest of Esther (Vulgate Esther 10:4-16:24)
- Wisdom
- Ecclesiasticus (also known as Sirach)
- Baruch and the Epistle of Jeremy ("Jeremiah" in Geneva) (all part of Vulgate Baruch)
- Song of the Three Children (Vulgate Daniel 3:24-90)
- Story of Susanna (Vulgate Daniel 13)
- The Idol Bel and the Dragon (Vulgate Daniel 14)
- Prayer of Manasses (follows 2 Chronicles in Geneva)
- 1 Maccabees
- 2 Maccabees

Included in this list are those books of the Clementine Vulgate that were not in Luther's canon. These are the books most frequently referred to by the casual appellation "the Apocrypha". These same books are also listed in Article VI of the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Church of England. Despite being placed in the Apocrypha, in the table of lessons at the front of some printings of the King James Bible, these books are included under the Old Testament.

I Just can't rate 5/5 not everything which is man-made is 100% accurate. Good app, I really like the fact that it contains Apocrypha (The omitted books in modern Bible) which brings a lot about life in spiritual sense than just reading the books of laws. God is good.

Quite exceptional how organized and user friendly for learning. The archaic English feels consistent with the KJV print I have at home. Exactly the same me actually. I do really appreciate the books of Enoch, Jasher and Jubilees in app for complete bible study. It is apperent that we need to connect a lot of dots since the regular bible leaves us hanging but all the books are here in this app to help you understand. Thanks again for your good work and may The Most High Bless you all.

This app has been so useful to me considering it has most of the missing books of the Bible. I have recommended this app to many, especially those who are on a path to acquire Bible knowledge from the missing books of the Bible. However, the interpreter doesn't do for me, perhaps you can improve on that.

I really like the app, however, where it falls short is reviewing of your notes; if there is a not on a verse I would like to be able to see my note, either as a scrollable message bubble or at least a link to the specific note with an easy way to get back to the verse after revoewing the note. Currently, The note icon at the verse just serves as a notice that you have a note. Then you have to go to the 3 bars, click on notes, then scroll to find the note for that verse. I have plenty of notes.

It's convenient & appreciated to have the holy scriptures in this format. The improvements I'd like to see: Being able to place side notes or write a list of scripture as your reading & then minus it to the side when needed. Or rather, please consider somehow having previously read scriptures dated & listed automatically, now that would be a true plus. Lastly, being able to underline in different colors. Hopefully, these suggestions will be considered for future improvement. Thanks so much! :)

I have so far enjoyed using this app, it provides me with advantage of searching by words. Above all, the additional Apocryphal scriptures for better exploration of God's word.

This app advertise the KJV with apocrypha but there is no TABLE OF CONTENTS TO SCROLL 📜 over and search for books. Most all other BIBLE apps have a TABLE OF CONTENTS. If this is a better presentation then why not have ALL the best features? Otherwise, it's ok ...so I give it 3 stars....and a half if I could.

Because you still have the book of Revelation in your app. I have come across two books one was a Holy Bible and the other was a mini Bible dictionary with a concordance and it also had all the books of the bible in it. I thought it was a great idea till I saw no sign of the book of Rel. And the Bible was the same. It was a New Versions. So I ditched both. And again thank you for not trying to erase Gods word! It is a very useful app altogether. :)

So far so good, nice to have the ads small at bottom of the app so they don't interfere or distract one. I like having the Apocrapha available at my finger tips, thank you l like it a lot.
