Beginner Xhosa is a simple and direct Xhosa language learning app meant as an introduction to beginners and enthusiasts. Based on the 'a word a day' concept, this app provides up to 12 words a day of your choosing. All words 'learnt' are tested repeatedly thereafter, on a basis of decreasing regularity, if answered correctly, as you gain familiarity with the said word. Vice versa, if incorrectly answered, the app will adjust to test you more on the word, or 'deactivate' it, while you learn other words meanwhile. Pace yourself as you go through the almost a thousand common and popular Xhosa words available in the app. In just a matter of weeks, you will have an essential knowledge of the Xhosa vocabulary ! This app may be great if it actually had audio to tell you how to pronounce the words.
Douglas Anderson
A little slow. Would have been nicer if it taught phrases from the beginning.

Great app really but I think you knew it needed audio but where lazy to do that or just greedy.
Angelique Groenewald
I love the whole structure of the app. A learning new words in small portions. Though i do wish there was audio to help out with pronounciation
Rudi Swanepoel
Wonderful introductory vocabulary. Easy, user friendly and fun! Thank you.
Bismark Nyota

Few reasons why this app will never be able to teach you anything: 1) There is no indication for pronounciation. 2)Words are random each day and follow no logical learning structure. 3)Quiz is too easy and doesn't at all indicate whether a word is actually learned or not. 4) Words disappear, even though I still remember what they mean, but since they're gone can no longer practice them. 5) Doesn't at all address critical grammatical areas, essential to understanding and speaking a language. You would probably be better printing a random list of isiXhosa words or just picking up a dictionary/phrase book.

I would love to hear the words so I know how to say them correctly.
