L’application « Balade Vauban » doit permettre de mieux comprendre la façon dont Vauban a conçu la protection de la ville de Besançon, notamment en reconstituant des éléments aujourd’hui disparus.

Le 7 juillet 2008, les fortifications de Vauban ont été inscrites sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco au titre du Réseau des Sites Majeurs de Vauban. Ces sites représentent les réalisations les plus authentiques et les mieux conservées de ce bâtisseur qui a marqué par son œuvre l’architecture militaire du XVIIIe siècle. Les réalisations de Vauban ont servi de modèles dans le monde entier jusqu’au XIXe siècle. A Besançon, Vauban a exploité au mieux les caractéristiques de défense naturelle que présente le site avec une puissante citadelle, les fortifications de l’enceinte de la Boucle et celles de la ceinture de Battant. 
Cette application vous propose de découvrir l’ensemble des dispositifs conçus par Vauban pour protéger Besançon, tels qu’ils existaient à la fin du XVIIe siècle au terme d’un chantier qui dura plus de vingt ans. 
La modernisation de la ville entraîne la disparition de plusieurs dispositifs, que l’imagerie 3D permet de reconstituer le plus précisément possible, en l’état actuel des connaissances historiques.

Ce programme a été développé par la société Worldplas à l'initiative du Grand Besançon. Les images reconstituant les fortifications de Vauban ont été réalisées par la société Héritage Virtuel à Besançon. Les sons et la musique ont été réalisés par Radio Campus Besançon. Les textes ont été réalisés par la Ville de Besançon – Direction du Patrimoine Historique.

The application "Walk Vauban" should provide a better understanding of how Vauban designed the protection of the city of Besançon, including reconstitution of the now extinct elements.

On 7 July 2008, the Vauban fortifications were inscribed on the World Heritage List of Unesco under the Network of Major Vauban Sites. These sites represent the most genuine accomplishments and the best preserved of this builder that marked his work by the military architecture of the eighteenth century. Vauban's accomplishments served as models in the world until the nineteenth century. In Besançon, Vauban made the most of the natural defense features that present the site with a powerful citadel, the fortifications of the walls of the loop and that of the belt Beating.
This application offers you to discover all the devices designed by Vauban to protect Besançon, as they existed at the end of the seventeenth century after a project that lasted over twenty years.
The modernization of the city leads to the disappearance of several devices that 3D imaging can reconstruct as accurately as possible, given the current state of historical knowledge.

This program was developed by the company Worldplas the initiative of the Greater Besançon. Images restoring Vauban fortifications were made by the Company Legacy Virtual Besancon. The sounds and music were produced by Radio Campus Besançon. The texts have been made by the City of Besançon - Historical Heritage Directorate.
