I've been playing this game for years now (at least 4) and I have gone far and made progress unlocking all achievements and even making it to the leaderboard. My previous device isn't functioning so now I have downloaded it to this new one just to find out that even though my progress and achievements are saved in Google play games account, I can't continue where I left off on my previous device as data isn't being saved. Add the multiple ads that pop up every single time and you have a mess

It'll probably take until the year 2048 for me to get to 2048 in this game without cheating. The game is definitely challenging, which itself isn't a bad thing, but eventually sliding all those blocks around starts to feel like banging my head against a brick wall. I'm glad to see other people are having fun with this one, but it's personally not for me. I rate this game (and my mental competency) a firm 3/5★.

I really don't have a complaint about the game itself. It's simplistic, has a nice selection of coloured themes and the gameplay is sorta soothing. My problem is with the purchase that I made. I bought the add on that removes ads, and it works maybe half of the time. Whenever I lock my phone whilst in-game, all the ads come back after I start playing again. They basically come and go as they please. If this issue could be resolved I'd give a 5 star rating for sure.

I probably will stop using this game after reading the reviews. I am playing the 8x8 mode and currently have a 262,144 tile. I was reading the reviews and some guy had a tile of 1,048,576. I'm just going to give up now because I have 1/4th the score of this other guy and that took a long ass time so I'm just going to go outside and play golf. The app is good, I never had issues. Also, golf gets expensive and this app is free. So, you decide.

Best 2048 app, hands down. I really wish the ads were muted by default though. I listen to music when I play and the ad is always so loud it scares the hell out of me and hurts my ears. I play in the office occasionally and forget the media volume is on and the ad starts blaring. I hate to give the app three stars but ads like that are simply too intrusive. App sucks. I USED to give it 5 Stars. I have the Play Pass and found it to be the best of the 2048 out there. But starting about a month ago it'll work for a week then it'll just poop the bed. WON'T STOP CRASHING! Won't open. CONSTANTLY having to uninstall > reinstall > uninstall repeat. I'm DONE with this version. I'll pay to remove the ads off another one.
