T-Mobile Visual Voicemail may use infrequent, free SMS messages to communicate with the Voicemail server.

Reviews From google play store

Excellent app! I'm not sure what people are complaining about here. I downloaded it and it was automatically setup in less than a minute. It asked for permissions and I enabled them all. I have all my VMs now visually available. I tested the app by calling myself from another phone and received the VM notice immediately. The interface is nice and pretty fast. Overall, highly recommended.

Thanks, guys. I can't listen to voicemail on my speakers, I have to pay more for transcriptions, and I have to use this garbage because you refuse to allow Google's phone app to work with your over-hyped voicemail server. What worked for my old Moto G2 doesn't work for my Moto G7. Why is this necessary? I don't WANT to use this! Why should I be forced to use a separate app for voicemail? If that wasn't your intention, why haven't you fixed it? You've had enough complaints about it! FIX IT!

What's up with this visual voicemail? I've been getting a message that it's not syncing and there's an error. There's no update to the app so that's not it. I've had two updates via T-mobile in the last month and it's still not working properly. I always loved the convenience of the visual voicemail, and it always worked great. So sad it's been malfunctioning. Might just have to delete it.

Years later still broken, I've been a T-Mobile customer for years and their visual voicemail app has always been the worst. From either not being notified of a new message or the famous "voicemail could not be retrieved" message after every single missed call. Not to mention swiping away a notification just brings it right back every time, frustrating! Fix this please it's been years of the same errors! Happens on my pixel 3a xl, Galaxy s10, one plus 6t, doesn't matter the device same errors.

This thing is a buggy mess. First, I was getting failures to sync messages and after a month of that, it was finally fixed. Now, after the most recent update, the app will not play messages over a Bluetooth device, which is a pain due to the fact that I am mobile for most of my work day. The app also looks and functions like an older type app, that seems to be stuck a handful of Android versions in the past. Functionality and design really needs to be improved (right after T-Mo fixes the bugs!

DISABLED--until it gets fixed. Doesn't work well with home Wi-Fi. When using home 5GHz Wi-Fi, frequent messages say ... We're sorry, we're having difficulty fetching your voicemail. You may need to open the app and manually refresh your inbox, or dial 123 to listen to new voicemail. ... This should work fine with both wireless and Wi-Fi, but it doesn't. V. 5.30.1.81980. It still doesn't work! ZERO stars! OnePlus 6T from T-Mobile!!

I installed this today because my phone app had stopped receiving voicemails. It's pretty awful. The interface is ugly with no customization, I get errors frequently, and when a voicemail comes on, instead of being notified by the app, I get a prompt to call voicemail, which is the opposite of what this should do. Not impressed, and doubly so that this seems to be the only way to get voicemail now.

T-Mobile....?! Argh. Stop "FIXING" Visual Voicemail....PLEASE. With each release over recent months--October 16, 2019 being the latest--I've somehow lost sync connectivity between the VVm app & the cell towers or T-mo servers that push voicemail recordings to my Galaxy S10 & subsequently fire off new vm notifications. The app routinely does little else than fire off a toast msg that apologizes for repeatedly failing to retrieve msgs. Cannot manage my vm. Never know when new msgs are rcvd!!

OMG what a freaking headache. Ive had no voicemail indication (when I call there are no VM when people are calling me asking if I got the there messages) in over a week from this horrible update. WTH and no HELP from Tmobile to solve THERE problem.. I've had Tmobile a year and this is the first time I have ever experienced this on any other carrier....

This service does NOT work smh. My voice mails take weeks to show up on my device causing missed appts and important calls. There was an update Oct. 21st that did absolutely nothing. You can't uninstall the newest update and use the service because it forces you to update the app smh. It's ridiculous and unfortunately there aren't many other ones that are better.

The application has an outdated design. It also gives me an error that it can't retrieve my messages daily. It's super annoying. The app is useless and I'm not the only one experiencing this. Please address the issues with this app so that it functions properly. I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ on Android 9.0 Pie.

Works...ok....I've had the app for several years, but haven't been able to change my voicemail messages for 6 months and it no longer transcribes voicemails to text in over a month. If uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't fix it, I'm deleting.

Update: The app is working correctly now and I am getting my messages as I expect. Previous: For some reason I keep getting a notification that the app is having trouble getting my voicemail. I navigate to the app and I have no voicemail. Why am I getting a notification for no voicemail? This app works half the time it seems.

Unfortunately the only thing this app seems to do well is to send apologies about how it is not working. This app should be given a lot more priority toward a fix than T-Mobile has given it. Too worried about free tacos on Tuesday for the T-Mobile Tuesdays app rather than fixing important stuff like Visual Voicemail?

Usually pretty good but after this latest update it keeps saying it can't load my voicemails, not sure what's up with it. I figured it out! You have to turn off all of your power-saving/battery saver options, otherwise the voicemails won't come in.

This was a beneficial feature for me over the last few years, but in mid July something happened & it's getting worse. There's been connection issues & lack of notifications & alerts. I started to get the actual voicemail notification & had to call to hear my voicemails, but could not see them in the visual voicemail app. Which I have been used to using & relying on over the last few years. Please fix soon.

BEWARE, AND I DO MEAN BEWARE. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP IF YOU HAVE ANY MESSAGES ON YOUR VISUAL VOICE MAIL, THAT YOU WANT TO KEEP. I was left a message that I had to download this app, to a new upgrade, & when I did the download, all of my past messages were deleted, and there's no way to retrieve any of them. SHAME ON YOU T-MOBILE FOR NOT INFORMING YOUR CUSTOMERS WHAT TO EXPECT, WHEN WE DOWNLOAD THIS APP. I wish that I could rate this app a ZERO, because it sure doesn't deserve, a star at all.

Anyone who keeps getting can not access server, it is because the app does not have permission. You need to modify the apps permission to continue using the app for visual voicemail. This is a new feature in Android. It is a lot more restrictive on what apps can do to protect users privacy. CHANGE THE APP PERMISSIONS TO USE THE VOICEMAIL APP

This app hasn't actively worked in years. Constant notifications that say new voice mail or cannot connect to voicemail. Very annoying. Doesnt seem to pull them down correctly. Using note10+ and have had every note upon release. Having issues going all the way back to the note 4

Used to work ok but the most recent releases have caused it to stop working completely. Now it's just a start screen with a message about activating your account - thing is, I've had my account for more than 10 years.

Sync issues started in Sept 2019. Was perfect for years but now fails to manual sync 90% of the time and NEVER auto-syncs. As of Nov 19 VVM can no longer connect to the server. Online info links the issue to Android 9 release, which TMobile refuses to support.

This is so far a great app. Don't understand why it has such low ratings. Never had a issue with it makes it easy to see all my messages and listen to them in any order and the voice to text is 100% accurate. I like the look of the app it looks great and very easy to use

When I turn my phone on in the morning, it tells me it is unable to access my voicemail. Sometimes messages do come through but always delayed. The app used to work, not anymore...

Since the latest update my app has gone wonky. It shows a badge telling me there is a voice mail, but upon trying to access it I get the "No Voicemails" message. I used to like this app a lot but am now thinking of Uninstalling it.

Serious problems lately over the last few months not getting voicemails keep saying having difficulty. Some of my voicemail took hours in order to go to text. We pay for this app and they can't even get it working or be considerate enough to reimburse us

Totally hating the fact that I can't access my visual voice mails. Always receiving a "Sorry we can't retrieve your voicemail" message all the time even with an update. It's driving me crazy.

Garbage. Can't retrieve messages (going on a year now). Message to text is $4/MO, effectively a $48 annual upgrade. App Development seems non exsistat - Apparently a captive audience shouldn't expect much... A sad spot for what is overall a decent company/service.

I like the app overall, but I keep getting random error messages that say it can't connect to my voicemail. When it clearly is connected. Fix and I'll adjust my rating. I have the Galaxy S10+

This app is terrible. It's incredibly slow and sluggish. It's constantly having issues with syncing. When deleting old messages many times I'll find they didn't delete.

Lets start with exellent, when it works through google pla store, As far as using it on the phone itself, is not so great cant access it, closes out, says theres no messages when i know there is and theres no update for it!!!! VERY FUSTRATING!!!!!

Since this last update I haven't been getting any of mt voicemails. This really is awful. I've never had issues until now. What is wrong with the voicemail server!?

It does not give the option to block a number from leaving voice mails. It charges money to turn voice mails into text. Google Voice will do this for free. This app is garbage, a waste of space.

Like others have said, this app hasn't been able to connect and load voicemail for the past month. T-Mobile doesn't seem to have even acknowledged this problem.

Complete garbage. Constantly notifies that it cannot connect. Will send four to six notifications in a row when a new voicemail comes in. Why can't voicemail access just be integrated with all dialing apps?

It rarely ever works. I always get a message that there's sorry that I can't receive my voicemail to try back later, or call 123 to get my voicemail.

With the new update, the app stop working. It's not showing the text of the voicemails anymore. And, I'm not getting notifications as well.

This use to work very well. Recently, I started constantly getting notifications that I have a voicemail when I don't. Very annoying!

I keep getting messages it has trouble. And I got 4 important messages 3-1/2 hours after people called. And the phone calls didn't show in recent until I got the Visual Voicemail notifications!!!

After multiple updates over the last 2 months, I'm still getting daily messages stating that the app is having trouble connecting to the Voicemail Server.

Constant issue with sorry unable to update at this time. Unable to retrieve new messages. Unable to have messages left. I will be switching carriers soon after 15 years with tmobile

Can't fetch message error constantly on my phone and my wife's phone.. It's not a complex fix and it should have been taken care of months ago.

Crashes after restarting phone, or just randomly. Every update or attempt to push some "upgrade" makes the experience more miserable. I love getting VM notifications days later.

Impossible to access messages quickly from this app. Please fix the bugs. It asks for a password every time and then sends me out of the app.

Used to be a great app, but hasn't worked for 2 months. Super disappointed. Come on T-mobile! I pay you enough, please fix app.

I receive a message that Voice Mail is having a hard time fetching something but I am not alliwed to see what it is trying to fetch and the message disappears before I can open it

I only get a voicemail 7 hours later after a call. The voices in the messages are often distorted as well.

This app is just a joke, Fooling people!! It's been more than a month waiting for activation and never happen!!! Come on guys what kind of service that you offering to your customer!!!

App needs the option to delete more than one voicemail message at a time. Deleting messages takes way too long.

VM app error out daily with cant retrieve voicemails and recordings appear several hours later. The app is not reliable. Have anyone found a better app?

Repeatedly reports that it can't access the server. It's never been that impressive but the latest version is useless.

We're sorry we're having trouble accessing your voicemail, on every boot. Open app close works fine. *edit* Persists after latest update

Voicemails don't sync. When I call voicemail there are no messages, even when I know someone left me a message.

Keeps telling me" can't retrieve voicemails and to resync ".. apparently this is a long standing problem from all the numerous complaints

Always getting a message that it can't retrieve voicemails. Useless. Why get a message if I can't do anything about it?

Visual Voicemail not working for months!!! Always say having trouble fetching voicemail. Please fix!!!

Doesn't work even though it's been recently updated. Days it can't retrieve messages. I'm installing.

Deleted voice message shows up again after few days. Every other day it says failed to connect.

This app worked fine at first but now it doesn't retrieve new messages or delete any old message.

The app is broken cant connect to server for going on about a year now, before the server started tweaking it was amazing app, now it's a lost cause.

Terrible, doesn't work most of the time. Says it cannot fetch my voice mails 🥺🥺

I have no idea if I'm getting my voicemails or not. I just continue to get a message saying unable to retrieve them

Worst voicemail app EVER. Always "having trouble fetching voicemail" sends alert after alert when I swipe away the notifications. I fn hate this app! Garbage.

Keeps telling me it cannot show my voicemails. No update available so not sure what is the issue.

This app used to work great now like everyone else I an error message keeps popping up and I'm unable to use this.

Very buggy, has problems with deleting Voicemail. Have to uninstall and install all the time.. The phone is the HTC U11

I keep getting an error that my messages can't sync. The updates get done but still same error.

Not reliable. Half the time trouble syncing when trying to delete messages. Have a Note 9.

Continues to pop up saying were having trouble loading your voicemail every single time a call gets sent to voicemail.

Doesn't work. Keeps giving me a message it can't retrieve my voicemail messages.

I'm having trouble with the visual voicemail. Its not allowing the me to come through or be left

Should be 100% unnecessary. Why did TMobile have to break the standard, industry- standards-compliant VVM functionality built into the stock Phone application that is part of Android?

Worst App Ever. It does not work. I missed a very important message because the app keeps failing to sync.

Bad connections. Often tells me it couldn't connect to the server.

Doesn't work, lost all my saved VMs from my baby boys trying to fix the problem.

Voicemails won't load. Keeps telling me there is an error.

Does not work with latest Android Update. I'm not sure why they don't fix the app.

I've had this app for at least 5 different phones and not once has it worked properly! It's garbage! Get rid of it!

This app is still giving error messages even after un-installing and re-installing.

Nth update and app still broken..it used to work flawlessly and now I have to constantly get a broken app notification. Booo 👎

Awful. I've had this app for years & on several different phones. Had to call for support, uninstall, reinstall, etc.

Very buggy! I am not sure what happened this never was an issue before..

Constant notifications saying that the app can't connect. Very annoying.

Missed calls are forwarded to my voicemail and I can call back later. 😀 I hate ads. If ads are attached, it will be removed.

It made my phone not to hear my voice messages just because is no update, is badly bad.

Some of the voice mails are inaudible there is static in the background.

Don't register to voicemail. I have to re install always.

it's great to see what is recorded ! I like that when I am in a nolsy area I can read my messages

Sucks. Notifies me sometimes days after Message is received. Just not a good app at all. T Mobil should strive to do better than this

Can take days to update to most recent call. I get on screen error message.

Every restart: We're sorry, we're having trouble.... Maddening.

It's always losing my messages! What's up with this app?

Doesnt auto fetch voicemail and a message pops up telling you this.

Does not work properly. Constant failure. What a dud.

Has stopped working. More of a hassle than a benefit.

Tmobile voicemail the message is delay for one or two days after the caller left a message

This was great, but now less than half the time does it work

Does not save voicemails and has trouble synchronizing.

App says having trouble syncing. Please fix the app this is unacceptable!

I think this is a really great app and works very well for me go T-Mobile!!!!

This app never works it always say can't retrieve my voice mail
