Nursing interventions is the Dutch translation of Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC). This app is based on the fourth, revised Dutch edition, which is again a translation of the sixth American edition.

The app offers a structured classification of nursing diagnoses and interventions. The main features of the NIC are:
• completeness: more than 550 interventions, 23 of which are completely new and 133 revised interventions;
• evidence based;
• developed from existing practice;
• reflects current clinical practice and recent research;
• clear and clinically meaningful terminology;
• tested in the field;
• combined with the NANDA diagnoses (2012-2014 NANDA-I).

Nursing interventions contribute to adequate education in clinical decision making. The app provides standardization and definition of the required knowledge for nursing education and nursing practice. It is also an aid in the development of curricula, which therefore better reflect the practice.

Nursing interventions are primarily intended for nurses. With this app they can choose from possible interventions. In addition, the app can assist in communicating treatments with other healthcare providers.
