Introducing the UniFi mobile application. Use the UniFi app to:
- Access the UniFi Controller to manage entire networks of devices while on the go.
- Provision a UniFi Access Point (AP) for basic functionality without configuring a UniFi Controller.

The UniFi AP must be physically connected via an Ethernet cable to a network that provides IP addresses using DHCP.

How To:
1. Ensure that the UniFi AP is in its factory default state, displaying a solidly white LED.
2. Log into your Ubiquiti community or SSO (Single Sign-On) account for backup/restore functionality. (If you wish, you can skip this login.)
3. The UniFi AP should appear on the device list if your device Wi-Fi is enabled and both your device and UniFi AP are on the same layer-2 network. (This is similar to the device discovery feature for other Ubiquiti products.)
4. If your device Wi-Fi is not enabled (or your device is on another subnet), then select scan QR code from the menu. Note: This is available only for models with the QR code sticker.

App ChangeLog

  • * Added support for some new devices
  • * Removed hostname launch type for default hostnames
  • * Stand-alone connection timeout fixes

Reviews From google play store

Based on the feedback they now do allow you to not save the password. Really appreciate the dialog and quick response.

Hello. Starting with previous update of UniFi android app, I can no longer find the public IP address of USG, details about WAN are no longer available/displayed. Any ideas why? L.E. Thanks for your support. The mobile app now shows the WAN IP again :)

I'm always impressed with the unifi software. keep it up! EDIT: would it be possible to add notifications to the app for alerts? I didn't see a way to do that in the app. Would love to get gateway (and other) events as notifications on my phone.

awesomeee I can totally control my entire unify systems i am managing from wherever i am. As a IT consultant for more different companies this really makes me choose unifi equipment to easy manageability

the issues i used to have seem to have been resolved.

Need to have easy firmware upgrade for devices like the normal cloud controllers already have.

Allows me to control my network from anywhere.

New version is great nice job

brilliant app , easy to use

Great app. works perfect.

awesome app πŸ‘Œ

Great Tool

I've been using the UniFi App for a little over year non and it has been amazing for my uses thus far. UniFi cloud access turned on I'm able to view my network from anywhere over my LTE data connection. Able to run speed tests, check settings, see what UniFi devices are online, the DHCP clients and do firmware updates. I haven't attempted to setup a network from scratch with the app, because I don't see several of the fundamental settings. All in all good app, always getting improving.

The unifi app is convenient and easy to use. It does the job of providing the information I need at a glance. It is not as robust as the web interface I use on the PC, but I do not fault it for that. I rather do that kind of administration from my desk anyway. One improvement i am waiting on is looking at the heat maps while mobile. This feature exists in IOS, but disappointingly not on Android as i would prefer. Ubiquiti keeps improving and I keep buying. Keep it up!

Thank you, Ubiquiti, for FINALLY fixing the issue with saving controllers without having to save the password too. It looks like you also fixed issues where MAC addresses were being shown in various places instead of device names.

It's a fine app, but the UI is lacking access to a lot of features. As it stands now, the fact that there's clearly a lack of parity between the desktop/web UI and the mobile app causes me to not trust that I'm seeing the full picture when using the app, and as a result very rarely do I even consider the app from either a monitoring or management standpoint.

Everythings Perfect! The Unifi HW is quite costy if you compare it to conventional consumer grade HW. But its worth every penny. Hard and Software works perfect together, like a charm. everthing is so performant and there are no downtimes or something. You can change devicesettings on the fly, even change IPs of WifiAP`s and the network clients wont even notice it. You have to invest some time and brain for installation though. But if u want a nice Homenetwork go for Unifi! u wont regretπŸ‘

Possibly the best app in the world. ui and ux are great, has phone and tablet support and has been written by someone who really knows what they are doing.

requires following permissions on your android device.

approximate location (network-based)
Allows the app to get your approximate location. This location is derived by location services using network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

pair with Bluetooth devices
Allows the app to view the configuration of the Bluetooth on the phone, and to make and accept connections with paired devices.

access Bluetooth settings
Allows the app to configure the local Bluetooth phone, and to discover and pair with remote devices.

take pictures and videos
Allows the app to take pictures and videos with the camera. This permission allows the app to use the camera at any time without your confirmation.

allow Wi-Fi Multicast reception
Allows the app to receive packets sent to all devices on a Wi-Fi network using multicast addresses, not just your phone. It uses more power than the non-multicast mode.

connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
Allows the app to connect to and disconnect from Wi-Fi access points and to make changes to device configuration for Wi-Fi networks.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

read the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to read the contents of your SD card.

draw over other apps
Allows the app to draw on top of other applications or parts of the user interface. They may interfere with your use of the interface in any application, or change what you think you are seeing in other applications.

prevent phone from sleeping
Allows the app to prevent the phone from going to sleep.

modify or delete the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to write to the SD card.

receive data from Internet
Allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. Using this service will incur data usage. Malicious apps could cause excess data usage.
