Pitched Tuner and Pitch Pipe has been designed by musicians to help you quickly and easily tune your instrument using the microphone on your Android device.

This chromatic tuner app works well for a wide range of instruments: Ukulele, violin, mandolin, flute, guitars, voice, and more. Even very low bass strings can be tuned. Simple controls and clear visuals make it great for beginners. Responsive and precise algorithms provide professional level accuracy for more advanced players.

Hands free tuning means you can tune all of your strings without ever having to touch the screen - you don't want to have to reach for your ukulele tuner in between tuning each string, and now you don't have to.

This tuner app has two modes:
- Instrument tuner
- Chromatic tuner

The instrument tuner shows you the target notes for the instrument and tuning that you have selected - this is particularly useful for stringed instruments. For example a guitar tuner would show the notes EADGBE if you chose standard guitar tuning, or DADGBE if you chose drop D tuning. Or a violin tuner would show GDAE. You can then just play each string and the tuner will identify whether you are in tune. Pitched Tuner has built in tunings for many common instruments including banjo, bass 4, 5 and 6 string, cello, double bass, guitar including 7 string, ukulele, viola and violin. If your instrument or your preferred tuning aren't included then you can easily create your own in the app. Please email us if you want your tuning added to the built in ones.

The chromatic tuner displays the note that is closest to what is currently being played. If you play an A, it shows an A. This is useful for instruments with lots of notes (piano tuning for example). Some stringed players might also prefer this mode - particularly if you play instruments with several common tunings such as the guitar (it's personal preference!). It means you can quickly tune your guitar from standard to drop D without having to touch the app (assuming it's already visible on your screen).

Pitched Tuner displays a traditional tuner needle and dial. It clearly shows the frequency being played as well as the nearest note and error in cents (one cent is one hundredth of a semitone). The dial then allows you to easily track small changes in pitch. A separate volume indicator tells you how clearly the microphone is picking up your instrument sound.

Other features include:
- Vary the reference tuning pitch away from the common 440Hz.
- Able to adjust for non-concert pitch instruments, for example the B-flat trumpet.
- Choice of light or dark themes
- Adjust the volume sensitivity of the app for quieter instruments and noisy environments.

This tuning app also works as a pitch pipe and can sound a reference note to tune your instrument by ear (which is always a good skill to practice), or use as a target note when you are re-stringing your guitar/violin/etc. You can choose from a pure sine sound, which is precise but quiet, or a simulated piano, guitar or clarinet.

We hope you find Pitched Tuner useful. You can always contact us at support@stonekick.com

This is my fav for the lyre Harp but it does have issues add other app versions of tuners. I suggest a non app tuner but if your brainy enough you can work with the app. You can tune individual notes to a custom profile for every instrument and you can tap phone on each note to hear the sound to compare. This is my fav of all the tuner apps I tried especially for custom scales for unique instruments.

  2. guest-avatar

This tuner works great. It has great sensitivity to any sound. The only con is that you have to have a quiet room to tune in or else it picks up every sound. Otherwise I love it and I will continue to use it. It is easy to understand and to use. Thanks to whoever designed this!

The best thing about this app is that it shows you exactly what it finds, (which may fluctuate with amplitude of string vibration for example) and not some rounded up value. This is the main reason I chose it as my one and only guitar tuner. Very good.

Good simple app for showing me where my voice is at with notes. Can be a little sensitive which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it occasionally picks up wrong notes when attempting to measure extremely low frequencies (as in 0th octave notes). Otherwise, a very decent app. Wouldn't mind if it showed wavelength in real time to measure the sustainability of a note but that's more of a nitpick.

Works great! And now I know why, it's by Stone kick. The team behind the best metronome app. I like this app because of how it "zooms in" on the target frequency as you tune closer. Cool!

First off, i live in New England and the humidity levels are in constant flux. This can cause a plethora of tunning issues. However, I use this app to tune a set of 5 Toca custom delux Tumbadoras(congas)to specific pitches/intervals. The tunner does a great job of not picking up on the many unpredictable overtones that a natural skin head and oak drum produce. This was not the case with other pay to use tunning apps. Easy to use, effevtive, and all for no initial charge....A++ !!!

  7. guest-avatar

This is the best app I have found for tuning my instruments after trying 3 other apps. You can tune normally or choose one of the many instrument presets. The best thing about this app is that the pitch pipe function is free. Also the pipe has the option for a continuous note, (sine wave) while other pitch apps play a brief note.

  8. guest-avatar

Just what I needed. It would be nice if there was a way to go from, say, A2 to C3 without having to wait for A3 to finish sounding after changing octaves.

I've been tunning my ukulele for a while and has been very helpful but I can't stop feeling there could be an improvement with the precision of the tune. Overall is a solid 8/10

  10. guest-avatar

This has been a great app to help my daughter tune both her guitar and cello. It's accurate, and even with the background noise that my kids often make, it still does a good job.

  11. guest-avatar

Like this very much. You should include a tab that would slow response time or boxcar average say 20 points to show average pitch for those using to get pitch of the voice into the correct range. Thanks.

  12. guest-avatar

Easy to view dial, enjoyable to watch as I try to find accurate notes on my cello without looking at my left hand. The metronome app associated with the tuner is very handy as well. Great job!

I have been tuning 2 older bowl back mandolins and a handmade bowl back mandola and I relieve tension each evening to keep the necks straight. So having the tuner in my pocket phone is very convenient.

Love, love, love this app. Just started playing violin and it's hard to tell sometimes if I'm hitting the notes, I just need to glance at the app to know. Plus super easy tuning to start.

  15. guest-avatar

Gives a quick and steady reading every time using it to tune guitar and check the pitch of the notes I'm hitting on my sax great piece of work .Nice one

  16. guest-avatar

This app is very helpful as I find my singing voice in that it chromatically shows me where I am on the spectrum.

  17. guest-avatar

    Bertha McKechnie

Using this tuner for my bassoon. I like the display and the clarity of the format including which octave it's reading.

  19. guest-avatar

Accurate as my expensive Yamaha tuner. Wish it displayed Eb for my alto sax not D#. Users that say they can't use it because no setting for flute etc. need a bit more theory.

  20. guest-avatar

Guitars, I'm turning guitars. I like the app okay. Just using it chromatically, that way I don't need a specific tuning.

  21. guest-avatar

    Koda Fightmaster

Very easy to understand, and enjoyable to use! Would definitely recommend:-)

  22. guest-avatar

Always there in a pinch. Good tuner that has always saved my butt on stage and great in my private guitar lessons. Used a few years now.

  23. guest-avatar

  24. guest-avatar

Exactly what I was searching for! An app that recognizes pitches and that can play notes.

  29. guest-avatar

    alexander siletsky

Very useful. I like the option of showing the frequency.

  30. guest-avatar

This app works just how it should be. I'm just mad that my phone has perfect pitch, while I, the owner, do not.

  31. guest-avatar

It's very nice to have a tuner and a pitch generator in one place since I like to tune by ear

  32. guest-avatar

Intonating guitar and it works well so long as I don't talk over the pitch.

  33. guest-avatar

Tune my guitar in like 10 minutes I'm starting to learn how to play definitely would recommend it's very useful

  34. guest-avatar

Great to tune your instruments or see if you're singing on key!

  35. guest-avatar

Excellent tuning app. Clear and easy. Being able to adjust the mic sensitivity makes it a lot more useful than some tuning apps where the needle bounces all over the place if you're in a noisy room.

  36. guest-avatar

    Jacque Harenberg

Love this tuner. Great to check and improve my embouchure using this tuner while playing the saxophone.

  37. guest-avatar

    Jeannine Copeland

I use this app to tune my flute and I must say that it is very sensitive and accurate!

  39. guest-avatar

  40. guest-avatar

I like discovering the different pitches of people's voices.

  41. guest-avatar

Works perfectly for low brass, unlike others I have used.

  42. guest-avatar

I'm new to playing the banjo and this app has helped me tune better then the electric tuner I had to pay for.

  43. guest-avatar

Creating guitar melodies on any tempo and with an additional tuner on hand! *free* 😎

  44. guest-avatar

Fantastic app, it has the numbers for each measurement, not a dial with colors

Quite reliable. The meter looks a bit displaced, though. It could trick one. I have been tuning violin, viola, and double bass. Quick response, sensitive. I am enjoying it, so far.
