The problem is both with the software and the hardware. Both of which are Tp-link's responsibility The hardware's lookup table will not auto update if you change any default settings after auto pairing. You will need to manually enter the powerline IDs to fix the disconnect issues. The software is a bit limited on the app. The web interface is much better and at least they bothered to develop a windows compatible option. They need to fix the lookup table issues with a new firmware though.

Brilliant! Not sure what others on here are doing/maybe it's been improved but able to setup guest access/hide SSIDs/rename etc. no problem in 5 minutes. Run accomodation services on a radio link via AP a long way from router so great that I don't have to lug laptop/ connect via cable etc. and all done from phone. 5* all round. Thanks!

Numerous issues trying to connect ro and update TP-Link range extenders. When it works its great but rare! This needs to improve quickly otherwise I'm heading to another brand......

Mixed feelings. Although useful to check which of several devices I have are up & running, this is negated by the critical flaw that renaming a device to something friendly and meaningful is reset & lost after just a very short duration (within a minute).

The worst app I've ever touched, hands down. Nothing works apart from turning the LEDs off. Can't turn them back on, can't add devices, can't rename them, everything I try either times out or simply doesn't work. I'm wondering how this app passed the QA.

Very little functionality compared to the desktop version. Also changing the device names is a terrible joke: once you exit the device by going back to the device list and swipe down to refresh, it forgets the custom names...

About all you can do in the app is view the data rate between units and turn LEDs on or off. Changing device names doesn't work and they immediately revert back to the original names. Pretty pointless app really.

Sent this to tplink, no reply. Hi, don't know what's going on with this app but I, like many other reviewers, are having multiple problems with it and would like to know if you are reading the reviews and acting on them please? It won't store device name changes and does not detect all 3 of my powerline adaptors although they are all online and working OK. Thanks

The app seems to have little functionality, aside from being able to view the data rate, and turn the LED's off and on, there's not much else. I bought the devices & installed yesterday. The devices are working perfectly in the first 24 hours. Using this app to view each device properties, none of the passwords printed on the devices work. So I obviously need to look at TP-Link support pages for help in that direction. But I'm presuming there's a bug in the app.

It's a bit pointless. Every time I rename one of the adapters it just reverts after a few seconds to either the original name, or a random mix of characters taken from the name I want to give it and the name it originally had. Every option seems to be also achievable via the web interface. The actual hardware is great but this app is just pointless.
