Tower Collector gives you opportunity to contribute in OpenCellID.org and Mozilla Location Services projects by uploading GPS locations of GSM/UMTS/LTE/CDMA/TD-SCDMA/5G (NR) cell towers from your area. The measurements help map the extent of mobile phone network coverage. You can use the app to collect data for personal purposes and export them to various files. Some features: • specially optimized GPS parameters to reduce battery drain • upload to OpenCellID.org and Mozilla Location Services (MLS) projects • export to SD card as CSV, JSON, GPX, KML and KMZ. • ad-free, forever! The OpenCellID.org project goal is to create a worldwide open source database of mobile cell locations. Tower Collector gives you opportunity to contribute in OpenCellID project by uploading cell towers locations from your area. Collected data can be used to quickly locate devices without enabling GPS. Mozilla Location Services (MLS) is an open source project, aiming to create a worldwide database of wireless network infrastructure identifiers (cell towers, WiFi access points, Bluetooth beacons) correlated with GPS locations. Aggregated cell location set is available under the public domain "Creative Commons (CC-0)" license. Please help me translate it to other languages, visit https://i18n.zamojski.feedback/ This application does not collect, store or send any information which can be used to directly identify user, device which is being used or any other personal information. BUG REPORTS AND FEATURE REQUEST VIA EMAIL OR GITHUB ISSUES PLEASE.
App ChangeLog
- IMPORTANT!
- Mozilla have made the decision to retire the service and new measurements are no longer accepted. Read more: https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/retiring-the-mozilla-location-service/128693
- The option to upload to Mozilla Location Services temporarily remains available, but I will only try to upload the measurements if custom MLS-compatible address is provided in Preferences.

Use "keep screen on" "dimmed" to collect most and use less battery.

When the option to update the map only via Wi-Fi is activated, the map is not updated when Wi-Fi is connected to the Internet. Tablet based on Android 6.0.1.

Massive blue circles are shown in a very small area which don't reflect the actual towers' locations.

Hello. This is a great app for me. But I have a problem with the map. I have the mobile data turned on and... the map still doesn't appear. If is a mistake made by me, can you tell me what can I do? Please. And btw, this is the perfect app for me :D

Solid, simple, good. Collect cell ids and wifi info and upload to various projects. Good config/control options.

Samsung Galxy S3 Neo - Android 4.4.2 - I want to support openCellID, because inViu OpenCellID does not work anymore I decided to test TowerCollector, but I allways get the information that my system time is invalid and Tower Collector shows 01.12.2000 and an incorrect time.

What is the point of collecting data

Downloaded it and it's the worst app I have ever come across. Designed to block anyone who is not in the trade. It should say that they don't want individuals to use it. All I want it for is to be able to line up my mobile mast to get the best signal for my broadband. Not possible as far as I can see. The developer says that's not the purpose of the app. But there is no help to tell you that.

Great app! It's a better way to upload data to MLS than using Mozilla Stumbler.

Improves open source map data. Can we upload data to radiocells just like as we do for MLS and opencell.
