The eTarif is a modern electronic tariff from the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Neckar (VRN) and made for Tickin. Your fare is no longer based on the hexes (from, to and through which you drive) because that's complicated and can be unfair.
In the eTarif, your fare is calculated based on the linear distance between the start and destination stop. So you don't pay for the route taken by the means of transport, but for the shortest distance between the start and destination - as the crow flies. Traveling a lot? Favorable daily and monthly limits round off the eTarif. It really couldn't be more fair.
