When full-screen, the pause button doesn't show up. It forces you to hit your own phone's back button if you want to pause, meanwhile the video is still playing as it minimizes the whole video. You have to press on the play bar to get the video up again, and only then the pause button is available. Aside from that, other streaming services allows you to customize subtitle size, but you can't on here, which is too big for the videos. I do appreciate the double language subtitles feature though.

This is not the Ted I used to know. What is with a 20-minute ads that are hard to skip? If you tried to listen to a playlist, it inserts ads that are 20 minutes long and then you have to click a button to skip. So unattended listening is dead. Sometimes it just skips the next video and starts at 20 minute add again. I don't mind short ads give it up to a minute and a half long. Thats fine. But 20 minutes long???

Apparently, it doesn't work on background even when the config shows otherwise. When there is a change of network (eg. wi-fi to mobile data), it seems to crash and go back to the beginning, as if it had just been opened. Then, if I don't have the title of what I'm watching, I'll have to forget about that video. What's more, most of the time I start any video, it starts at, say, 3, 5, 7, 10, etc minutes along the video timeline, making me pull it to the beginning. TED on YouTube doesn't crash.

Lately the app has been stopping my videos a few minutes after I lock my screen, very annoying if you're doing something with gloves and need to press play every few minutes. It doesn't have a "play next" or "add to queue" option which would've been nice but anyhoo. I love the talks so much, just the app that's a bit difficult to deal with.

I used to really love listening to Ted Talks. Hearing the speaker enter into the speech was a part of what I liked. It gives a glimpse of who is this person? Now, watching a Ted Talk can be disappointing-they don't start at the beginning. Some even begin in the middle of a sentence, making me wonder what I have missed, and this happens with my traditional "return to" talks. If this is done to encourage me to pay for the entire talk, why not be open and ask for donations or charge a yrly fee?

You are running a 13.26 minute ad sponsored by Moutain Dew that behaves like a virus. I am forced to listen to it everytime a pick a talk. That means multiple times a session. If I try to skip it, it cancels the next talk and reinstated itself, making it impossible to listen to anything but the 13 minute Mountain Dew sponsored ad. Fix it or take it down. I do not need to listen to it more than once.

Ads are extremely long and frequent. They are diffcult to skip. Sometimes skipping an ad skips the whole talk and the next suggested one starts. Talk start halfway in sometimes, after skipping an ad. I hadn't been listening to talks for a few months. I'm quite disappointed about this ads bombardment thing and the way the app poorly allows you to deal with it (it makes me wonder whether it's wanted).

I love the app and the videos they put out but I'm not always free to view them while I have Wi-Fi so I try to download the vids I'm interested in watching. Please make a feature where downloads are paused when connection isn't great (like most streaming services have) so we can download the video efficiently.Other than this minor issue, I can't think of a reason it doesn't deserve all 5 stars.

As other users have noted, you can not share a TED talk because the only sharing option are Bluetooth and Drive. No copying link, what's app, email, messenger etc. Also it takes real persistence to down load talks, since it seems to fail a lot. The talks are good, and I appreciate the oppoy to listen via the app, it's just not as good as many podcast apps.

Terrible, who would watch a 20 minute ad to watch a 3 minute video? So many talks are rendered unwatchable with these overly long ads. I get that sponsors are necessary but this just ensures I will never buy their product. Used to be good. Thanks for the response but I live IN North America.
