This app doesn't crash for me, which sounds odd given other reviews. It has a clunky UI that wouldn't be my first choice for driving a telescope. I had to manually enable location permission from Android, because installation didn't demand it from Android, before it would auto detect where I was for alignment purposes. Other than that, it does the job for running an open port which my Sky Safari app can connect to for driving the telescope, and so I'm finding it useful.

HOW I FIX THE PROBLEM! I bought a skywatcher AZ GTI mount with telescope. I've been unable to get the software to work on my Samsung 12.4 tablet, like many others. It opens and then automatically closes. skywatcher has been of little help and don't appear to support the software going by other reports of the same issue. The FIX... I return The telescope for a refund and went and bought a Celestron equivalent as it works for my Samsung.

Doesn't work, quits on start up. I have a S21 with Android 11. I can't use this app as it quits immediately on opening. I have to get an old mobile out the drawer to use my WiFi mount. Please invest and fix.

Used the app in the past fine but it no longer works on Android 11. Needs a fix/update. The app opens and then immediately closes down.

I got in touch with the developers a few months back about the "quits on start" issue, and they released 1.19.12. However.. to even get that, you have to jump through some permission hoops in order to even install it via Chrome (search for "install" perm and enable in chrome and files apps). Then; - uninstall old versions first - after install, grant location permissions - clear app data (I suspect that old app data also contributes to the crashes. I'm on the Android 12 beta. It runs.

Had SynScan app on my old android and it would load but was horrible to work with. Went back to the hand control. Thought I'd try the Pro version but it crashes as soon as you open it. Seriously this is the best Orion and Skywatcher can put out? The SynScan hand control is much better. I doubt whoever designed this has even used a telescope. U TC

Skywatcher has fixed this problem. You have to go on the Skywatcher USA website to download the fix. You will find it by clicking on support then apps. Clear skies everyone.

Crashes on start. Galaxy s20 fe. Android 11. Same with version 1.19 from skywatcher website.

This was an excellent app but as of Android 10 app force closes upon opening. Thankfully I have an old KitKat phone so can control my mounts just fine. App really needs a new version or the WiFi Dongle needs to removed from the market until resolved.

For those having issues with the app crashing on launch.. A later version is available as an APK on the Sky-Watcher website. Why they haven't pushed it to the Play Store is a mystery, but it solves the issue.
