Sync Data Manager provides a simple, yet effective, method of conserving your Android device's battery by reminding you to turn OFF background data. After turning off data, or losing connection, a reminder will be shown is background data is still enabled. Background data allows apps to send information while your device is sleeping. Disabling background data and auto sync greatly saves both your battery and data.
Unfortunately, due to Android's security features, apps can NOT disable background data for you. As a work-around, Sync Data Manager provides many types of reminders, including: pop-ups, notifications, and simply opening settings. Each allows for a different level of ease in disabling background data. Reminders may also be customized for different types of data. Don't mind background data on WIFI networks, simply disable all the reminders listed under WIFI.
For Android Versions 4+, background data is no longer a global setting. Instead, Sync Data Manager can be used to automatically enable and disable auto-sync with changes to WIFI or mobile data settings.
