Sultan Solitaire

Sultan Solitaire is a patience card game played with two decks of playing cards and contains a distinct setup. The aim of the game is to surround one solitary king (called the "Sultan") with eight queens by end of the game to win.

To begin with one King is taken out and placed at the center. This King is called the "Sultan". Sultan is surrounded by eight foundation piles. Seven foundation piles are dealt remaining seven Kings and one foundation pile is dealt an Ace of the same suit as the "Sultan". These foundation piles are built up by suit wrapping from King to Ace. Thus all eight foundation piles end with a Queen on top. No card can be played on top of the "Sultan".

The game has eight reserve cells which can be used to hold one card at a time. At the beginning one card is dealt to each of the eight reserve cells. Remaining cards are set aside forming a stock pile. Cards in the stock can be moved to a waste pile one card at a time. Two redeals are allowed (meaning 3 iterations from the stock to the waste).

Top card from the waste or, any of the reserve cells can be played to the foundation. Empty reserve cell can be filled with a card from the waste.
