I prefer this app (storm) over the other app (storm radar). Storm app is cleaner and gives you what you need. Storm radar gives you a bunch of extras that are pretty much just extra junk and clutter up that app. No offense, but I don't need to track hurricanes Would be great if we were still able to keep and use the Storm app

world Earlier in 2018 they replaced Storm with Storm Radar. I have both on my phone even though they only want you to use Storm Radar now and tell you Storm is no longer supported. Storm was a far better app and less cluttered and you could and still can READ the actual daily forecasts. Storm Radar has too many graphs and charts and doesn't cut to the chase of just wanting to know today's weather description. It opens with the radar map and from there you have to get to the rest of the weather

Again, after what - 5 YEARS - Weather Underground has fallen short of an acceptable weather widget! Do you people have any intention of creating excellent apps or are you just a lot of hot air?! The font on the widget is much too small to be comfortably readable. Even when I resize the 2x1 or 4x1 to largest size, the fonts keep their original size! Amount of info is ok. No real inspiration to keep this over-blown marketing gimmick. You want a reference for an excellent widget and app? See Elecont.

I changed my review from 4 stars to 3. When viewing live radar the pause button won't pause- it stops and resets to the beginning of the loop. So it is not possible to stop the view at a later time IE- To study what the weather will be like when I have to drive to work later on. Also, why won't this app show up in a search on Google play? I had to use the link found by searching it with Chrome. Thanks for your work.

This app replaced the Intellicast app which was the best weather app out there. Storm has less features than Intellicast. I even paid for the live Intellicast radar I liked it so much. Any rating showing 5 stars has to be "a Fake Rating", or they never used Intellicast as a comparison. The moving radar doesn't work well and the time frame is too short. The radar coloring is also different and doesn't indicate the actual intensity well.

  34. ldschulze1-avatar

The Storm app has been seriously wounded since its radar feature has been deactivated from it. The radar feature is now in Storm Radar (a stand alone radar app), but it apparently is only a radar app. Reinstate the radar feature in the original Storm app. It is best and wise to have a fully functionally weather app that includes radar (with history and future scans), hourly forecasts, day forecasts, current conditions, and alerts. The Storm Radar app can remain a stand alone product. Just include the original and same radar features IN the Storm app, also. Both apps can exist together.

Last few days it has been way off on temperature for current location, like more than 10 degrees off. I depend on this app to plan my outside activities. If I can't rely on the information I will need to find a replacement. Up until a few days ago very dependable. Overall good app if this glitch can be fixed.

Used to be a great app. No longer reads the input zip code as address to reference. Tried and fails to update via gps even though may applications work from same area. Notification bar doesn't update. Hasn't updated since installed last week. Cannot begin to cover how much a complete disappointment it is after years of using the same app. Will be uninstalling now and using a working app.

I truly miss the Intelicast app that Storm replaced. But I'm getting used to this and use it daily. As a sailing instructor for ECSailing, a good weather app is critical. This one has a lot to figure out, but once you get it how you like it, it's great. Missing one star because they did not include the forecasted surface map in the app... I have to go to the website for that.

  38. Ted Hepler-avatar

    Ted Hepler

Visually stunning, accurate with a excellent u/i. Without doubt all the information one may require to keep abreast of the weather. There is no audible warning for National Weather Service severe alerts on this app or the other WU weather app, a "blemish" on an otherwise excellent application. In addition, no details on storm tracks; been this way for couple of months. Your inaction is effecting users. Please fix............

  39. Terry Eason-avatar

The wind speed is never right for my area. This morning the wind speed was 20 with 25 gusts. My storm app said it was 4mph with 0mph gusts. What the heck it's like this all the time. A little help please. Cause other than that it's pretty good. I live on the coast and fish alot so I really need the wind speed to be accurate.

  40. Matt Farber-avatar

    Matt Farber

This has replaced the regular Wunderground app for me completely. I'm way more interested in storms and the way the data is collapsed in hourly and daily forecasts seems to be the way the original app should have been designed. Popping into the full screen radar on load and seeing all the nearby data is just fantastic. It doesn't hurt that the app is super quick and lean. Great job.

  41. Dale-avatar

Let's begin with the name. 'Storm'. Could the name be any more elementary? Intellicast sounded far more 'intelligent'. For that reason alone I stopped recommending it to my friends. The app is not a smooth as it was before the change. I use an S7 and it still chunks along. Graphics at the bottom of the screen will not disappear every time after viewing. Whoever thought the change was a good idea should be selling used cars.

  42. QUADE PRESCOTT-avatar

***UPDATE April 23rd:enhanced radar NOTworking, storm track info not available, no temp in status bar... Please fix these! Also, add description of changes with each update!*** Ok app, but IPhone version is GREAT!! change the storm icons to those present on older version of main WU app.(meso, tornado, thunderstorm, etc), And add option to change radar tilt and radar type (level 3,level2, composite velocity, tdwr, etc.) Thanks! 👍

I love this app and would give a 5 rating if it worked properly. I switched from an iPhone to a Samsung galaxy s8 and redownloaded the app from the play store because it's my favorite. The only problem I noticed is that when you ask for push notifications the Android version never tells you the alerts. It always did with my iPhone. Iphone would always let me know when precip was a mile away etc but Android never does. Let's look into that yes?

  44. A Google user-avatar

Was awesome but now can't click on storm tracker analysis squares and get any information. Just says no data available. Here in Oklahoma I always rely on storm to be able to track time and distance to the nearest town including all around me. Plus being able to see hail probability, storm heights, wind data etc is key to knowing what's coming. Hopefully it gets fixed.

  45. Russ Rogers-avatar

Would have given the app 5 stars except the constant advertisement of its other app storm radar is becoming a nuisance. There's no way to turn off the advertisement when you open your app to check the weather and advertisement pops up for storm radar and there's no way to stop it. Yes you can close it and then go to the selection you want but it is tiresome that every time you open the app you have to close an advertisement

  46. Scott R-avatar

I've been using Beweather for past 10 years, but it's no longer giving me weather alerts. I've tried 6 or 8 different weather apps lately. So far, I like the layout and functioning on Storm the best. Layout is simple, with more info a tap away. Looks better than Weather Underground app. Would like a better widgets, maybe in 4x2, but I like the widget can be customized to transparent. Allergy info would be another plus. I'll update after more usage.

Overall good info in app. Future radar short time frame. Biggest thing negative is its making up cities. I have it setup to use current gps. It's just using major streets around and putting state behind it as the location. Only when your around the core of the city it correctly puts city/state. Big fail to me. Makes me wonder how accurate other info is

  48. Jeremy DL-avatar

The Storm app is by far THE BEST weather app on the market!!! In addition to being VERY, VERY accurate, my favorite feature is on the Lock Screen where your current location, the time, the temperatures (current/high/low), a current conditions graphic/icon & chance of rain percentage are all displayed. There is also a refresh button to get up-to-the-second conditions & forecasts no matter where you are or when you want it. Not having to unlock your phone to get a forecast is FANTASTIC. When you unlock your phone the temperature will be displayed at the top of your phone in the notification bar, all day. When you drag down the notification bar you get a more extended forecast. When you open the app you see a great layout! The radar feature is one of my favorite features along with the overall simplicity, detailed format and user-friendly experience. I have tried over a dozen weather apps and the Storm app is without a doubt the best there is!

  49. Violet Estor-avatar

Great app, the only thing that would make this even better is a landscape setting for tablets. Other then that....its awesome!!! And just one more thing. To be able to make the font bigger for the drop downs for day to day forecast for some of us who's eyes are getting a little old.

  50. Stacey Sheley-avatar

I have a show stable/farm. I'm outside everyday I and my animals depend on this app for temps, wind (and direction), rain, lightening, traveling conditions and safety. Storm is an exceptional weather app. There's no exaggerated hype like I've found in other apps. The hourly forecast is super handy too.

  51. R.C. Keiser-avatar

My son was camping in a remote area and all he could do was receive text msgs. I determined where he was and could check out the storms to let him know he had to take cover. Works great! During Hurricane Harvey my son and I were keeping up with all of the approaching events bouncing back & forth between Weather Underground & Storm. They are the 2 best smartphone apps out there. They best weather apps hands down. Jeff thanks for the great products. I can't imagine going through weather events without them. Thanks again! Why are you shutting down Storm? Storm Radar plays second fiddle to Storm.

This has everything you could ask for. Tap each storm track thats blue yellow or red and get 4 more storm specific data boxes about the storm.. .... Update: 3/1/17 -Something changed recently. I have no storm details avaliable. Now, storm track details will NOT display from the individual storm upon tapping. Still waiting for customer service to respond to why? its been 6 days and still not even a follow up from them

I have used storm for quite a while. It gives all the information I want and need in an efficient package without the extra junk that a lot of weather apps have. However, recently storms no longer show information when I click on them, and it has frustrated me greatly. If they fix this and get it working again, I will update the rating to 5 stars.

The most accurate, precise and complete weather app out there. I speak with experience and authority on that: as a person who not only depends on weather apps for outdoor work (some aspects of my job LEGALLY DEPEND on accurate weather data), but also outdoor play- all day, every day- and as a person who has tried them all (regarding weather apps). The map overlays set the standard, the wind vector arrows are awesome for hunters looking to stay concealed and fishermen looking to find the ideal boat ramp to launch out of the wind from and find coves, etc. The only thing it needs is the almanac (weather history) and it would be worth paying for and/or worth 5 stars. Get this app if you want to talk weather and win the debate on whether not "it'll rain tomorrow."

  55. Joe Geitz-avatar

    Joe Geitz

Would be 5 stars if I could manually pick what weather station gives me current conditions, or even better, composite weather stations like the iPad version can. The nearest station it selects based on my home location is inaccurate compared to others in my area. Everything else about the app is fantastic.

  56. Janice Utt-avatar

Love the app on my Note 8, 5 & 4. The only one I will ever use. So sad you keep pushing Storm Radar on me. If you can make the Storm Radar app like this app, than I will go to the other app. If not you have lost me for good. Doesn't make since to get rid of a great app on May 24th.

I always loved Intellicast and did not like Storm at first. But by after using it everyday, I have learned to love it. I am not sure why there are so few downloads. It is far superior to other weather tracking apps. I like that you can drag your location to the exact spot on map. It will grow on you after some use.....

  58. J Mathieson-avatar

I have used Storm on my iphone, but the same app for Android is lame. Many of the features in IOS version are missing here. Storm track data does not show up. It is almost as though the developer got about half done and quit.

  59. Kenneth ZaniRicci-avatar

    Kenneth ZaniRicci

I love the app, except that the push notifications do not work. It would also be great if the map could be opened zoomed out more. As soon as I open it I have to zoom out to see what's going on around me. Fix issues and I'll rate higher.

  60. Charley Buehner-avatar

Still miss intellicast. This thing is just slow. Laggy interface and out-of-date radar maps. Getting dumped on today in waves, every time, ~this~ app shows clear skies above. Pisspounded with hail a couple nights ago, app never detected it. Lightning indicators are neat, but the icons disappear in the radar map, poor color choice there.

  61. A Google user-avatar

    A Google user

    1. The app controls are not intuitive. 2. Data forecasting is always changing and is never dependable. For instance, this A.M. the current conditions radar showed a large rain front overhead but the future forecast radar showed no indication. What good is an app when I can step outside and obtain a better prediction than the capability of the app.

  62. Kevin Mattingly-avatar

Looks like the weather channel took this app & put their spin on on it. Same name & logo with Noaa information added on. Looks very similar, to close. Do we have a jealous contender ?? Kinda makes me mad...sorta. Loyal Weather Underground User...

  63. michael Bauman-avatar

    michael Bauman

This used to be the best weather app. But thanks to the weather channel and their greed this app is barely useable. Storm radar ads pop up despite me paying money for an ad free experience. Storm radar is an app twice the file size that runs much worse than this. Because every time you change pages you get a pop-up for storm radar this app is now very hard to use.

  64. Timothy Smith-avatar

    Timothy Smith

This is a good weather app. Tons of options, a good radar. I can definitely nerd out with this app. Unfortunately, it seems to be causing intermittent phone lag to the point of me being unable to use my phone for 5 to 30 seconds. The screen freezes and no input works. As long as this app is not installed, everything is fine. I'm on AOSP March 2017 update, Nexus 6P. What a shame.

  65. bruce valent-avatar

    bruce valent

This app is more for local recording of weather. I would say it's really good for a 50 mile radius of where you are currently. If you want a full broader version you should just get the Wunderground weather. This helps to alert you for storms.

  66. Mike-avatar

This app works better than most but has one annoying flaw. When looking at the map during a storm all the roadways and points of reference disappear under the storm making it hard to zoom out and still identify your location. I have tried adjusting the settings but in order to make it work I have to add features I don't want. Intellicast is still better.

  67. Matthew Metzger-avatar

This is a great app to use. Very few buy in adds, a little learning curve but very easy to use once all setting are understood. It updates no matter where I'm at, easy to add cities and remove cities as needed. I will never use a different weather app. Best ever weather app available today.

  68. A Google user-avatar

this app is absolutely the best weather app available. full of practical, useful, informative information thats extremely accurate. another great aspect is you can force close it and itll actually stay off. so when your gaming its not trying to connect and cause you to ping out. im not sure that WU could improve it in any way. 2thumbs up and 10stars. I was a subscriber. Probably never again. You losers dropped the Roku app. Now it appears you've dropped this app too without sending an in app notification. So, how was I going to find out that you stopped development a year ago by left my subscription in place? That's so unscrupulous. Not to mention your "new" app is a TWC app with ads and no apparent way to remove them. I DESPISE ads and will pick an app that allows me to support the developer and remove the ads. If you can't maintain a good ad free app, I'll never use your app again.

Not bad but the only time lapse loop that works is radar. All other loops just give start of the hour and zip to the end of the hour. No 5 minute intervals like radar. Or they don't move at all. Fix and I change my review.

Zoom level on map is too close when opening. Should remember where it was set when app was closed and stay at that level. Added Storm Radar to my phone to see if it would stop the annoying popup. It didn't. I just want to use this app but they make it difficult.

After sitting in the rain and looking at this radar showing clear skies above, I noticed that the radar image was 10 minutes old. Contacted customer support twice asking for an explanation/key for the storm track symbols, no response. Intellicast was so much better, smoother radar images, more up to date and accurate. Deleting Storm app.

I've used this app before for personal storm tracking, I'd have given this higher rating if they hadn't gotten rid ad-free version, especially since I've purchased a subscription for Weather Underground and it can't be used on this app too. Highly annoying.

I really like the cool features like wind streams and lightning strike. There needs to be some more widget options/sizes. It seems to have an issue getting my location and updating, from time to time, which causes a huge battery drain. All in all I am going to give it a shot for a little while. The push notifications do not seem to be working.

I have no idea what app screenshots are appearing on this page but they're certainly not looking like that that's installed on my tablet. The one on my tablet has zero options other than to choose what units of measurement to show. You can't track storms with radar, you can't really do anything that you do with most Weather apps. I really miss Intellicast. It was an outstanding application. This one doesn't hold a candle to it. Bye bye.

Still has issues. Sometimes it shows accurate information and sometimes it's like it's guessing. What gives? I use this to keep tabs on my PWS when away and for the most part it works fine but at times, it's like it's a generic weather app getting it's information from someplace hundreds of miles away. Until this is fixed, I'm removing one star. I can't believe all the complaints about not being accurate. Are people really that stupid? Unless you have a PWS at your location, then shut up. The weather is never the same in every location. Even two blocks away. It shows my personal weather station's data without flaw. Also, the radar seems to be faster. For my wishlist, I would like the temperature to be exact and not "rounded" when using PWS data.

I wasn't sure at first that I liked the changes from intellicast but after I got the hang of it I like it just as well. ...maybe even better. The forecasts have been very reliable and I love the hourly predictions for I rely on them to put my horses out to pasture and how long until a storm begins and ends. It's very helpful with agricultural activities as well....

It was a great app, but the last several weeks the storm track threat analysis has always returned "No data available". Reported thru the contact us link in the app but no response and no fix after several weeks. The storm data that should be there is very useful info, without that the app is relegated to the ranks of "just another interface to the NWS".

The perfect weather app, finally! Simple yet thoughtfully designed UI with forecast data at a glance, details if you want them a click away. If I'm picky I'd ask for additional widget options.

It's not accurate. The wind speed is never correct. It never shows higher than 3 mph, even if the wind is blowing hard. Dewpoint don't agree with other weather apps. I can't trust it. Not reliable. Uses personal weather stations, which are inaccurate, at least for wind speed. There should be an option to not use PWS.

Overall... I really like this app. My only complaint is that the wind speeds are horribly inaccurate. Today it was showing a 1-5 mph NNW breeze. The direction was good, but it's almost a constant 15-20 mph wind storm out there. Should have a wind advisory up.

The storm track threat analysis does not work on android phones when you click on the base of the Storm track. It does work on iOS phones. If the Storm Threat Analysis worked it would be excellent. It did work previously but now always shows No data available.

After each time I boot my phone, I get a message that Storm has crashed. Widget problem? I'd give it 4 stars if it didn't, and 5 if it gave actual history of stats instead of ambiguous graphs.

Very beautiful and intuitive weather app with useful alerts. Desperately needs one or two additional widget options. It only has a tall blocky one, that while pretty and informative, doesn't balance well on home screen grid.

Was an excellent weather app. My favorite for years. Now it crashes every time I try to open it. I've rebooted my phone, but it still crashes. 5 times so far in the past 2 hours. It has been almost a year since the last update. If not fixed, or at least acknowledged, by the developer, I will uninstall.

Update : Uninstalling. Still have pop up every time app is opened. Love the app but the new pop up at startup evrytime has to go! I even installed that app and like it but I'm done with the pop up! If it's not removed soon I will be uninstalling both apps.

Being able to pay to remove ads is really important. I work in information security, incident response and critical infrastructure protection. In addition to the myriad concerns from ad-stalking, ad traffic interferes with app data transfer and performance. In this circumstance, ad traffic interferes with emergency response. I hope the developers will find a way to restore the option to pay for an ad-free version because this is one of the best -- if not the very best -- storm apps I've seen.

I really like this app. Only one small problem. I'm not sure how they get their place names. It shows that I live in Stokes and work in Klondike. Neither of those are correct, or even places that exist in my state. The weather info is correct, however, so it's only a minor annoyance.

I am very happy with this app. I was sad after my old Intellicast app informed me that they are shutting down. But they recommended to try the Storm app instead. It is very helpful, the alerts are informative, and the radar is great. All in all, a wonderful weather app, and I highly recommend it!

Can't set location and gps location does't seem to function. Can you set audio alerts for severe weather? That doesn't work on the weather underground forcast app anymore and it pretty much limits that apps usefullness. IF Storm can't do this it's of little value.

Very good app. Only thing that would make it better is being able to select an alert tone. Right now it just is the default msg tone. Is it a message or a weather alert I should be paying more attention to? Add this feature rating would be a 5.

Ok app.. but the widget is driving me crazy. It never updates... and the little reload thing in the corner doesn't work. Same with the notification screen, the update or reload button doesn't work. Fix this and I will re rate.. but for now, it's only ok

Almost perfect weather app - and charges accordingly.Wing flow is good addition- enabling more exact spotting of severe weather. It is difficult to read lowhigh readings but fronts are clearly marked. now to integrate my PWS into the system.

This app has improved since its introduction. The weather info has been accurate within reason. However, seeing storm tracking icons with no information once opened is not helpful, is a nuisance on the low side and might be dangerous if depended upon in a bad weather emergency.

After waiting 4 months for a usable App we get Bug Fixes, which did exactly that, fixed up the App with a few more Bugs. After numerous "unfortunately the App has stopped" errors or the App totally freezing, we give up. Intellicast for this? What a Joke. Don"t waste your time with this App, It's now become just about unusable. What a Mess. Devs, you should be ashamed to put your names on this. Well behind competing Apps.

Like everything about the app especially the precip alerts. Just wish they were audible, if I could set them to push alerts and make a sound it would be 5 stars. I ride a motorcycle a lot and these help me to stay dry. It's an awesome feature.

There is too much clutter when trying to view the radar. I want to see ONLY the radar and not all that other garbage on the screen. Want the dew point on the widget. That "feels like" temp is a useless POS.

"Rating" comes up with past tense: "Loved it." THAT'S wrong!! I 'LOVE IT!' THE BEST wx app that has it all on ONE screen, rain, winds, front lines, temps, etc etc. Now my go-to-1st wx app! 😁

It is a great app ! We've been using it in all our devices as the one and only weather source. That been said they decided to stop providing the 'ad free' option so as sad as it may be it is time to let go and uninstall.
