Reviews From google play store

funny this new release is supposed to be reliable.. just got a new speaker today and wanted to add it. the app is stuck in a loop and keeps asking to update. hit the update button and goes to the Play store and open.. then back to update... grrr... took a little to figure out why this is happening but once you get it running, the app is good

Easy to use and set up. It drops the Wi-Fi signal pretty frequently even though it is next to the router. Would've been 5 star otherwise. Update: The issue with dropping the Wi-Fi is more pronounced. Love the sound quality so much I bought more speakers. but the app........

the speakers themselves are more than fine (wrt sound quality) but man.. does it have wifi connectivity problems :-/ for such an expensive device you would expect it to have less issues. Another problem is connectivity to Spotify, which is lost frequently while (when it happens) nothing seems to be wrong with Spotify AT ALL........ shame

ive used a sonos play 3 for 8 years but the latest update has removed the ability to connect wirelessly via the sonos bridge. i can only play if my speaker is connected to the router via an ethernet cable. i cannot connect another speaker to the system as it says i need to update the app but its already up to date.

Horrible battery drain - It's eaten 20% of my brand new Galaxy S10+ battery today. So many others having the same experience. This is not a new problem - it's been well known for a long time. I uninstalled it, which makes using my sonos system much more difficult.

More updates, same garbage! App is now slower than ever after the last update. What are your dev folks doing? Having a contest to see who can ruin the app the fastest? Every single update is worse than the last. The app response time is now horrible!! I just swapped my phone and was forced to upgrade before using the app. Thanks a lot!! Thousands invested in Sonos and I'm disgusted with a product I used to love. Fix this BS and let us chose to upgrade only if needed. What a joke!

This must be the most people-unfriendly app I have used. I bought 4 speakers (Ones) and hardly use them as this app is built for developers, who probably patted themselves on the back, it is so clever. Pity they didn't think about or talk to the customer.

This app is broken - again. It will not play music from either the iPad or Samsung Note 8 on either of my two speakers or my Sonos Connect. It starts for a second then stops. This system is expensive and COMPLETE BULL$HIT. SONOS is the most unreliable music device ever invented. Sounds great when it does play though, just don't count on it always working - especially if using it as an alarm to wake up and catch a plane or other important event. DO NOT BUY.

The past couple months every time I try to use Sonos it tells me updates are required, and on multiple occasions this prevented me from even using the system. when i could use it it wasn't till after a ten minute update process. Very inconvenient. I expect for the price, I should be able to use MY speakers when I want to, not when Sonos deems it acceptable. (Yeah yeah features ect... I don't care. they were working just fine so don't mess with them.)

bloody awful I've never known such a useless device each time i move it I have to re add it to router via a cable but wait the wifi zone I want to connect is out of range of the router. whoever designed this needs sorting out

Just OK. These speakers are amazing but you cant use them without the app. The app is lacking. The interface is confusing and the widget is worthless. Meaning its not a live widget you have to tap it to activate it. You may as well just hav an icon, that does the same thing. You cant play music from other apps. You have to use this app. That's a deal breaker for me. Too late to take them back but I wont buy more Sonos speakers till you can use any app you want like Amazon Music or Player Pro.

This is a very buggy app, and communicates poorly with my Sonos device. When it does Every time I've used the app I've had connectivity problems (not down to wifi). It's a shame, Sonos hardware is really great with excellent sound quality. The app really let's the product down.

Navigation is poorly thought out, latency is an almost constant problem. Sonos devices are amazing and this app does not measure up. Update, April 28 2019: Still true, and music is increasingly out of sync in different rooms.

Love it. What else is there to say - 2018. - 2019. We had a guest at the house and turned our Sonos system on and our guest thought we had a surround stero system. We have 3 Sonos speaker statically placed in the house. Our guest never heard of Sonos, but he was going to get it when he went back to Utah.

I absolutely hate the Sonos app. i linked it to my Spotify, but searching for songs on it is cumbersome, as compared to Spotify itself. Linking my 2 Play 1 speakers was a pain, keeps updating etc. I love the sound of the speakers, but the app is terrible. I looked at some past comments just from the month of April (2019), the highest stars i have seen is 3...which means that if i had to purchase a product, i would pass to better ratings. But i am stuck with subpar app and no altenate choice!

Not a bad interface, but is more "designed by geeks" than by Apple. Visitors don't find it intuative, and we still occasionally knock off each other's playing music rather than adding it to play next. Irritatingly there's no quick option to add songs to the end of a playlist, and working with them is clunky. EQ contols are deeply buried, and essential controls operate in different ways, e.g. view playlist, switch rooms and volume. Time for a ground up redesign by users rather than engineers.

shocking. constant resets required, Alexa works half the time. twitchy when wife reset, meaning I have go through a million steps to set sonos and Alexa up again. sound quality superb but user friendly tech? absolutely not.

initially thought very easy to use. loads of music and radio stations available so 5* but after 3 months not so sure much of the time okay but cuts out skips tracks keeps disconnecting tried all the stuff they suggest to no avail just haven't got the time or energy to keep debugging it all not impressed. £1500 system should work without all this aggro music sound still not as good as conventional hi fi have ended up with very expensive tv sound system

Spend a boatload of $ on these speakers and get limited use. What happens when they quit supporting the app or force updates that change the user experience for the worst? You get a useless brick added to the rest of the things in the landfill. I wish I had just bought cheaper standard bluetooth speakers that can do the same thing.

soooooooo good... I have a $12,000 wurlitzer jukebox that has sadly become an ornament now that I have three sonos 5,s a playbase and a sub.. I hate you sonos ;0)

requires following permissions on your android device.

approximate location (network-based)

Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi.
