Sonic 2 HD es una remasterización en alta definición del Sonic 2 original de Megadrive llevada a cabo por un grupo de aficionados de la saga que nada tienen que ver con SEGA. Aunque viendo el estupendo resultado ya podrían contratarlos, claro.
El juego es básicamente lo que todos los que lleven unos cuantos años dentro del mundo de los videojuegos conoce: un plataformas en dos dimensiones frenético en el que tendremos que recorrer una serie de niveles a toda velocidad mientras recogemos todos los anillos que podamos en nuestro recorrido. Por supuesto también tendremos que tener cuidado con los monstruos, pero la mayoría no supondrá un problema si vamos lo suficientemente rápido.
Esta versión del juego, que está todavía en fase 'alpha' solo incluye el primer mundo del juego, por lo que tan solo nos encontraremos con el primer jefazo final y la aventura en general apenas nos durará unos cuantos minutos.
Esta corta duración, por suerte, se compensa con un aspecto gráfico maravilloso que nos dejará con los ojos como platos. El erizo azul de SEGA nunca había tenido mejor aspecto como en este Sonic 2 HD, en el que tanto sus movimientos como su modelado son verdaderamente exquisitos. El resto del juego: enemigos, anillos, escenarios... también están cuidados con un nivel de detalle fantástico.
Sonic 2 HD es un juego muy divertido con un apartado gráfico maravilloso. Y lo mejor de todo es que apenas ocupa espacio en el disco duro, no necesita instalación y está perfectamente optimizado.
