I love the way it stopped that obnoxious T-mobile sound on my S9 Android on start-up however it's not taking my phone out of "mute" after start-up is complete. Drove me nuts for a couple of weeks (dah!) before I finally made the connection. except for that I would have given it a 5 star-rating. (or maybe a 10)

Nice idea. It only works on Android 7 if you enable quickboot. Quickboot only works when the phone is off for short periods and so overnight, despite having this app, the startup jingle is still full volume. Looks like rooting the phone is the only answer...sigh. Shame this app is needed at all really. You used to have full volume control until Google took over. Good idea though :)

Finally! Goodbye dreadful AT&T startup boot sound! This app successfully muted my S9 device, before it finished shutting down. The newer AT&T bootup sound is unreasonably loud. After installing this app, I purposely turned up all my volume settings (media, system, notification, and ringtone) to maximum, then rebooted my device. Guess what, it silenced it! Wow. Also, after powering on my device, any previous volume settings restored to what they were before I turned off my device. Amazing!

Been using this for years. Does exactly what it says. I use another app to mute sounds in particular situations, but this is the only app that mutes startup. I now have a Samsung Note 9 and the phone said the app may not work with my phone and may need updated. But it's working just fine. Phone just upgraded to Android 9 and it still works.

Effective and unobtrusive. Great on Android Jelly Bean. Version 2.3 still works *almost* perfectly on my current Android Pie device. When doing a standard reboot, I usually hear a fraction of a second of the shutdown jingle but that's it. Not bad for an app that Google says no longer supports my current device! I enabled permissions (Do Not Disturb, and change system settings), turned off Android sleep/battery optimization, and checked the first box in the app settings (to enable Silent Boot).

Have loved this app and it's done what it claims to do. But with work enforcing encryption on phone if want mail client connecting to O365 it's now unable to work. Believe phone loads bootstrap (1st boot sound) then proceeds to load full kernel (2nd boot sound). So no longer silent boot, and getting two annoying jingles. :-(

Prior version worked perfectly on Samsung S6, This latest version works. but displays crash window after boot up. Notified developer but no response... I've gone back and am using version 2.0, with no issues.

It worked (muted sound) when shutting down only, but when started up, it restored sound too early. Sound should be restored "after" starting up completely, not "before" starting up.

This was working great on my Huawei p20 pro, until recent system update. Now not working even in extended mode. 5 stars when working. This app hasn't been updated since 2015,so only getting 1 star now. App no longer useful. uninstalled

Don't know why the rating is so low. Maybe people don't configure it right when they have a special phone. Glad I don't need it anymore because the new Android is less annoying, but if you need to shut your phone up this is the app. And it doesn't include spyware.
