SetDNS is the easiest way to force your phone to use custom nameservers. This "pro" app does the following: * unlocks the "non-root" version of the app * unlocks control widgets - so you can view and change your DNS from the home screen * enables password locking of the settings. Please download the standard SetDNS app and check that it works on your phone first! ==== From the Set DNS description: Preserves your custom nameserver information when using wireless and 3g/edge mobile connection. Comes with google, opendns, fooldns settings, enter custom DNS servers and option to revert back to DHCP. You don't need to back up your nameserver details - just reverting back to DHCP will go back to your normal network settings. Now also contains OpenDNS Family Shield settings. Please note, entering the wrong nameserver details can break your internet settings. Also, some mobile operators run web access via a proxy server, in which case the nameservers on the phone can be less relevant.

I'm on a Motorola Xoom WiFi Only Android 4.0.3 Non-Rooted. So for now if that's what you have I wouldn't recommend purchasing and downloading this application. Worked fine on my Evo 4G Cyanogen mod 7 Rooted though.

Worked great in the past. Now comes up with an error saying that part of the program is missing that I can no longer find on the Play store market. Also is now requiring For access. To bad. Deinstalling...

I purchased the PRO unlock a while back. Went to reinstall. But you need the standard version for this to work. But now the standard version is nowhere to be found, not even with the link provided. DO NOT BUY THIS APP !!!!

This app is just what I needed and complement the SSH tunnel I use with public, hotel, airport, or other open networks that you're unsure of. Totally reasonable price too!

Don't waste time as it needs the SetDNS app, though it doesn't show to download, even when the app is open and hitting, the link that should redirect to the download. Before I put this review I sent an email to the company and so far no answer from them, not even an automatic email telling me that they have received it.

The pro app claims to be compatible with my phone. (Xperia Z1c) but the standard app isn't - hence the purchase was useless for my intended device

I actually don't *need* the Pro features, but this app has been soooo very useful for me that I am perfectly willing to reward the dev! One suggestion: better icon, please? Pretty please? :-D ... I suggest something from "Mattahan" icon packs.

This app has always worked. Even though you need a rooted phone now. But not a big deal. I still find this app very useful.
