Reviews From google play store

I loved this app back when I had my Galaxy S7 Edge. But ever since I upgraded to the S10, this app has been buggin!! It just stays on the "Getting Started" page and keeps loading. It's annoying because I can no longer make mobile payments with the best mobile payment app out there! I had no choice but to get Google Pay 😔 I looked up solutions to this dilemma, and even called Samsung Pay support, but nothing they suggested helped. So now I'm waiting for an update to fix the problem.

Horrible. Couldn't verify any cards because the app kept having "connection issues." Tried 3 different bank cards. Tried adding membership cards. Again, connection issues. Tried a different wallet system, no issues at all. Oh, but when I tried purchasing something from Samsung or adding the Samsung cash card, zero connection issues. 10/29/2019 UPDATE: Issues were fixed. Works like a charm now.

Absolutely love this system. Had an iPhone and couldn't add my bank to apple pay. But I could with samsung pay and haven't had any problems since. Also love that I can use it in places that don't always accept apple pay or android pay. This app has saved my butt many times over.

Got this specifically for small purchases. Setting up was difficult at first because my bank branch was clueless that the service existed, but it pays for my coffee and that's all I wanted it for. 4/5, easy to use, smidgen difficulty in setting up. :)

Great app, the only problem I have experienced since the last update is I cannot access my card from the home screen and it is activated in the app settings. There is nothing to swipe up at the bottom of the screen. Lock screen works fine.

Samsung pay has been a real benefit to me when I'm shopping or picking up something to eat especially since my debit card has not been working properly and with a quick tap of your phone you pay and your done. I definitely recommend Samsung pay for daily use!

I like it - works very well and consistently. I like the quick access from the lock screen. One improvement could be that after a payment, I'm returned to the lock screen instead of launching the app. Fingerprint sensor has been improved since last update

The only mobile pay app you dont have to be set up for. If they have a credit card reader... boom they are set up. I have at least 3 to 4 businesses every week tell me they can't accept it yet it works every time

The ability to access the app from the home screen keeps disappearing I have to hit the power button and turn the screen on and off to get access to the card. It's annoying. Thinking of changing to Google pay.

I forgot my passcode and I called they told me the only way to reset was to reset my application. Now you would think there would be some kind of security question but no. I reset the app and now I can't use it at all. I've loved samsung products for ad long ad I can remember, I feel hurt that your reps just hung me out to dry after they couldn't help me get back into the application. If this isn't fixed soon samsung I'm sorry but I'm switching to iPhone

Samsung pay is more widely accepted than Google. It's fast and convenient. However it randomly pops up when I try to unlock my phone. EDIT: after the latest update the fingerprint stopped working.

This app works great. Oftentimes at Merchant I'll ask if they take Samsung pay and typically the first response is no. If there's no one in line behind me i will ask to let me try it. As long as they indicate the sale is a credit card sale it usually works leaving the clerk amazed they didn't know.

I can't use the app, all it does was just spin and spin. I called customer service, she couldn't help and she told me that they have reset everything and I need to back up everything before. I have Samsung Galaxy S10e.

Never had an issue with the app, easy to use with my gear s3 frontier watch. Would recommend for anyone who's constantly on the move.

Samsung note 10 plus, so far so good. I haven't had any problems with the app. I just signed up for the Samsung pay cash less then 30 minutes ago and everything is activated and working perfectly. I was giving $5 for signing up, which was in my samsung pay app as soon as I updated my account from lite to full. Doesn't cost anything. They'll actually give $5 per an account fully activated till Nov 15th 2019. I've already spent $1.79 of that $5 on new font for my phone!!

Very useful and other than always having to restart the info and card info each time you choose to change a password, overly annoying, i appreciate the steps Samsung takes to provide excellent cyber security

Works about 80% of the time. It stopped accepting my pin. Had to reset the app, but luckily didn't have to re-enter all of my cards.

I like the convenience of being able to tap to pay from my phone. I give it a 3 star because when using your points for "chance to win" items it's a sham. I have "spun the wheel" at least 100 times and the wheel starts and start at the same points EVERY time. That tells me there is no chance to win....ever. So why bother?

I haven't experienced any technical difficulties and I've been using it for quite some time now. So far, I like it it's pretty convenient especially if you forget to bring your physical debit or credit card.

Not very often but once in a blue I'll forget my wallet, but never my phone. Having samsung pay has saved me the embarrassment of having to return my groceries or other purchases, by having my phone with me. I love it.

Well worth it, have not had any issues. Keep all my cards on here and i dont need to have the card, sometimes my wife or kids need to use it so i can use the app on my phone.

Samsung Pay is incredibly convenient to use & very streamlined in its UI & usability. I love that Samsung Pay interacts with a pinpad's magnetic strip reader. The Rewards Points system is a nice inclusion, but I would appreciate more reward options beyond "Discount For [X] Samsung product" which I am uninterested in at this time/for the foreseeable future. (At the time of writing, I had recently purchased a Galaxy S9 & was not interested in buying a new mobile device.)

In this version the fingerprint never works. My fingerprint can be used in all the other apps on my phone, and unlock my phone, but not Samsung pay anymore.

Some cards that are supposed to work can't be added. Once that gets fixed I would give 5 stars.

Better then using card and u get rewarded with no extra charge, then u have savings apps like Groupon where u save on it and get even more savings using Samsung pay as ur payment method, great way too save!

Started really good, but now the program sucks. I used to utilize it everytime I pay, but not using it anymore after they got rid of cash reward card. Also, I have thousands of points that expires every month, so I can't expect to accumulate points for future redemption when it keeps expiring. It's like I'm earning points that will expire at the end of the month. So now, I don't care if all my points expire, no plans here to use it anymore.

I like the Functionality of this App (THE REWARDS PROGRAM IS TERRIBLE!)! The App DOESN'T WORK when I have large $$ dollar purchases, so I miss out on BIG points, and THE REDEMPTION SYSTEM IS STRAIGHT ROBBERY! I can't acquire My points, yett Samsung wants to sell You points? Convenient... Yes. REWARDING... HELL NO!!!!! GOOGLE PAY... HERE I COME!!!!!

The app is great, however I am not happy with the favorite cards function. The options are to be able to use the fav cards on homescreen, lockscreen, and screen off but no matter how many times I have set it to be on my homescreen, it just keeps disappearing and leaves me looking lost at the register cuz then I have to go to the app just to use it 😕😬🤨

Works great. Scan in with your fingerprint for quick reliable access. And there is a points program if you are a real power user.

Very helpful and easy app. You can now access your bank accounts with your Android phone without needing the physical card to make purchases.

Super convenient!!! I absolutely love this feature and I don't think I'll use anything else ever again. Some stores will tell you they don't take it but in every experience so far it's just because they don't know that they actually do. We've also used our Samsung pay at the atm. I'm a very forgetful person so this is especially handy when I forget my wallet at home!!!

Great app love the rewards. They lowered the points earned each transaction which is lousy now but all in all, its ok.

It's great app and all that. Only wish that when there were more wheel spinning animations than the win and lose animation. I know it's supposed to be chance but it feels like a 50/50 chance of getting a good spin. If I'm gonna lose I would at least like to believe I had a chance to win. Just the one issue with the app, everything else is perfect.

Used to be the reason I bought a samsung. Rewards are non existent. You cannot save enough because they expire now. And you cant use them fast enough to prevent them from expiring thousands of points to use and you can only spend 20 at a time and wait for a 20 second animation over and over again. But wait rather than rewarding how about you by missing points? Way to ruin this one guys.

Works well with a Samsung phone even on older pay terminals. The point system as a reward mechanism for using the app is pretty much useless. Points can expire, and you rarely even build up enough points to redeem for something like a cheap like a phone cover, even if you are platinum member and use it at least once a day.

Finally getting all my transactions. However, you make everything so expensive to buy with your points you have to save and save and save...... But then if that wasn't bad enough now my points expire.... in the last 2 months I've lost 2000+pts. The only good thing this app is good for is if you forgot your wallet at home but have your phone so you can pay. Bring back lower items like the gift cards you had before.

The most robust phone or watch pay system. Works in all credit card swipe machine and doesn't need the "tap to pay" module installed. Since Samsung enabled this many years ago, I have then and am still getting merchants telling me their machines don't work with that as I'm taking, then are very surprised when it works... Apparently not many people are using this function, but should. BOA said they have had a lot of fraud with this, but I've had no problems.

This app isn't very reliable. It often takes several tries for it to work and the "rewards" are pointless. By the time you get enough points for anything other than a sweepstakes, your points will have expired. And yes, the points you earn expire really fast.

10-28 enjoyed using it for the last year - Update has made it unusable now - need to use my cards again - will try Google pay again

I would like more that you could hold your boarding passes with this app too. Maybe in a future update.

Best mobile wallet. It's easy to use and I like that it can be used at most places even if they don't accept mobile payments since it can communicate with the mag stripe reader. I only wish the card designs looked like my actual cards. My wife has Apple and her cards have the same design that is on her card. Mine are all generic.

No wallet or phone needed. Works like the strip on the back of your card... so unlike iphone pay.. this one works EVERYWHERE. I have yet to find a place where it doesn't work. And you earn points. I absolutely love it. And since it only works with my fingerprint it's extremely secure.

This app has never worked since the very day I bought this phone (note 8) almost 2 years ago. I've always used Google pay. I finally got fed up that my own phone manufacturer can't support the pay service and called Samsung pay customer service. They said to wait for an update. After two years of not a single update working ! This is absurd I will be switching phone manufacturers if this is the level of customer service

What a horrible app. I never had as much trouble work apple pay as I do this app. For example I go to enter my pin to pay and it double enters the number. If I don't catch it then I enter the second number and oops its wrong and I have lost one try. The one that made me lose it was it said I had entered the wrong pin 20 times so it kicked in the security and wiped everything forcing me to reenter the cards. Okay I get the security but I didn't enter the pin even once. That's just the start

I try to verify my card, and the response is either call my bank (the phone calls a random bank) or through text (which as still yet to arrive, I thought this was quick, not pathetic.

Looks like the fixed it again. 10/4/2019 Edit*** It used to be a great app. Now it constantly (every 30 mins) pings for location pretty much draining the battery. The app also won't let you disable location services and you can't prevent it from happening neither. Went from max stars to 1. Absolutely great significantly better than Apple pay since it uses it mimics the magnetic strip on the cards instead of NFC

I love Samsung Pay and I've replaced my traditional credit and debit cards with it. However most recently (last update) they are now pushing some "Samsung Pay Cash" card which is located in my actual payment cards list with no way to remove it. I don't like have to see this ad, 247 with no way to close or remove it. This ad wasn't there in the last version. I love the app and once this is removed you'll go back to a 5 star rating!

It's great when it works. However, I've had issues from time to time when I change any of my biometrics. The app asks me to authenticate again, but the "Next" button doesn't go anywhere. I cleared the data and re-installed, but that only makes me get stuck at the first screen. Right now the app is unusable.

I like it, but it was a little confusing to use at first. It never explains that after you add a card you have to tap the cards tab, then card you want to use, then pin. Also, doesn't tell you it wont work unless it's your primary payment method. Other than that works great. Cashback option a little confusing too. Offers cashback at certain places. But when he click on it it sends to the website to shop. But I'm in physically in the store with the offer.

After I reregistered my finger prints. The app locked me out. Gave me three options to log back in. But the app didn't let me choose any of the options. I would press either pin, Iris or finger print but nothing happened. I've trird restarting my phone, reinstalling the app. The app is forever locked out.

No security on lockscreen, no confirmation on direct purchases. Anyone can pickup device and start spending your money. Bumped my backpack to a reader and it billed me 2.50, no confirmation or acceptance of transaction. 2 stars because it actually "does work". Overloaded with ads though. Quality I would expect from Motorola or Nokia, not Samsung.

User interface is terrible, ads are annoying, samsung points are useless, and its unnecessary to require my fingerprint to pay, it needs a tap and go feature like Google Pay.

pretty good. glitches sometimes update. doesn't work way too much. now, points have been lowered. New, my points are expiring before the app tells me they will. For example, on September 1, I got a notice of points expiring at the end of the month. A week later (September 8), the points were gone. I still haven't heard back from support as to why... I was a loyal user for years, but now is time to rid myself of this service (this is how you lose loyalty).

The app is okay. Sometimes it can be hard to navigate and find exactly what I am looking for. My real complaint is about the reward system itself, specifically the cash back system. It takes way too long to actually credit your account. I shop with iBotta and they credit my account in like a few hours or at worst a few days, with Samsung, you literally have to wait months. I have over 45 dollars pending, but have no idea when I will actually receive it. It definitely dissuades me from using it.

I had this app on my Galaxy S7 Active and loved it. I used it for everything. I recently upgraded to the S10e, and now I can't get signed in to my account. Once I select "Get Started" it just spins. I've tried disallowing all permissions, force stopping, and uninstalling all to no avail. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I want to love this app again, but if I can't get back to everything I have on it already, I can't suggest it going forward.

Don't like that you have to lock the screen. And of course that you can't be rooted :( Old: After my first purchase, it seems OK. I prefer the way Google Pay let's you pay immediately after unlocking the phone. The "Fast Checkout" option doesn't seem to work/do anything. Not sure, might switch back :/

I've been an iPhone user for years !!! But I moved to android specifically for the Samsung Note 10+ but the S Pay is so behind the apple play by far. Please make it more easy like apple does Please allow the iris scanner to do its job and make the payment option more useful, like I have to type my password on my phone and then type it again in the cashier machine, come on SAMSUNG you can definitely make it BETTER .

Convenient Everywhere that I have tried so far. Sometimes takes a second but now I dont really need my wallet, just my phone. ❤

Very convenient as a foreigner to use mobile NFC as card! All u need have is your own sim card and your own bank account.

Easy to use great when you dont have your card or dont want to carry a purse or a wallet.

Easy to use & pretty much works everywhere. If merchant says they "don't have" the capability, ask nicely if you could just give it a try. 99 times out of 100 it will work. Just hold the phone to wherever they usually swipe cards, whether the cash register, one of those old-timey readers, even a phone attachment. It'll likely work, and then they'll be all, "OMG! I don't believe it!" Smile and tell them it's because it's Samsung Pay, NOT Apple Pay/iPhone, which just doesn't work in many places.

Honestly overall it's a really solid app, and the fact that it can use MST(I think that's the acronym anyway) is SUPER useful. The one thing I don't like about it is that if you don't have it set as your default payment method, you can't use it. I wanted to try out Google pay, which I'm really liking, but Google pay can't use MST, so if I ever want to pay for something that doesnt accept mobilepay I have to first set it as my default. Just a bit of an irritant

Works some of the time. 1out of three. I thought that Samsung pay could others couldn't with the whole beam the info at the magnetic read. Doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's my card, I don't know. At all of the stores I've tried, I've had to pull out my card and insert the chip. The only place it actually worked was Olive garden. Go figure.

Warning: DO NOT DO IT! The "Samsung Pay cash card" is a scam! Their virtual card would not register on app. The Samsung listed Help Line's "Supervisor" said that they're just a contracted company; they can't "do anything"; contact Samsung!! This same SUPERVISOR (who's english was limited) asked ME the same question four times (really!) I dealt with this for two days. (NOTE: CAN ONLY USE $100.00 PER DAY, NO MATTER HOW MUCH ONE LOADS ON IT. ) Samsung's VIRTUAL CARD IS A SCAM! WATCH OUT!!

Good overall. Small glitches in information, but it does carry over from device to device, but takes some finagling. The point system is a little weird, because the way that it pays out is strange. Still haven't figured it out

I only give 3 stars because I can only use my debit card on the phone. The galaxy watch is built to pair with galaxy cellphone but it would not take debit card as primary payment. I've been an apple user since the fourth generation came out. Although when samsung note 10 came out so I went to get one and give a try. boy do I ever regret getting one.

This app is awesome. Google pay and Apple pay are cool but they just can't compete with Samsung. The simple fact that you can use this on a terminal that doesn't have NFC is the game changer. I know a lot of terminals have NFC now but on the ones that don't being able to still you use your phone to pay is awesome. I change phones a lot and when I go away from Samsung I always miss Samsung pay. Happy I'm back to the note 10 and back to using it.

I didn't find much use with this app until I learned that it works with regular magnetic readers. I just don't see many of the nfc readers around. But, since learning that about the app, it's become my preferred way of paying. I use it on the Note 10+ and the only problem I've had is that different readers have their sensor in different locations. Most are about the middle of the swipe path, but some are towards the top.

Love it! I Love it's convenience, how it stores ALL of my cards! Debit cards & credit cards BOTH! I Love the fact that it's just 1-touch of a button away, online or at the store so I don't have to get into my purse to find one of card's, they're all loaded on my phone! So, I just use my phone to scan instead of my card! VERY convenient, saves a TON of time not having to type in all the #'s, especially b/c my eyesight is so bad! Great, A++, TRY IT! 😊💯💵❗

I thought I would use this app since I had a couple of my everyday use cards chips foul. Imagine how happy I was when I went through the initial setup, and the app fail to launch past the get started page. I have tried every option I have found to get the app to run properly from Samsung's forums, and online help threads. I shouldn't have to open a support ticket the blasted thing was working just fine up to trying to open it to add cards. It also opens when I click on the push notifications.

This app is awesome! I forgot my wallet at home, and I used this app on my phone @ all places including Walmart which doesn't have the touch and go. If there is Google and Apple play best believe this will work at the terminal also! Even works on base! I'm happy! Trying to find a place it doesn't work!

I liked the app because of the convenience. Oftentimes I have my phone but not a wallet or purse but can still make purchases. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 5 because their rewards program stinks. I had no idea until just now that the points expire every month. I started off with over 12,000 points but more than 10,000 have expired. Which is seriously dumb since anything good is more than 10,000 points. I was constantly using it to earn and save but now that I see it's bogus I give up.

The rewards used to be obtainable. Now they are ridicules. Switching to android pay because I see no reason to continue with samsung pay as you now decide to expire all my points lol... what a waisted opportunity. Samsung pay works where most do not, however android pay works wherever samsung pay works. This was a 4 to 5 star app until they changed the rewards system. Now it just pisses me off.

Everything I need to calm my paranoia of having a department store my card info then get hacked lol. In all seriousness it nice having the fact work on most card readers without NFC love how people say we don't accept Apple Pay then it works and I saw no its Samsung Pay is awesome! Convinent has become first nature taking out my wallet is a pain now.

Doesn't work since Android 9.0 update. I've seen others with this problem. Why doesn't Samsung fix this?! It requires highest battery level to work. Never had this issue before Android 9.0. App used to work with Medium Power Savings mode. Shouldn't have to turn off battery savings just to use Samsung Pay. Using Google Pay which doesn't have this problem. Too bad Samsung doesn't pay attention! Samsung: Are you going to take action and fix the problem?

The discounts and the points are great. Unfortunately I have had troubles with this multiple times trying to pay. And today I have been unable to make it work at all. I've tried clearing the data clearing the cache uninstalling the program restarting my phone nothing seems to work. I guess I'll be calling customer support because I like the 10% discount on gift cards at Chipotle.

I made this my default payment app instead of Google pay because of the cash back incentives, but it is cumbersome to use at the point of sale (POS). I have to manually select my payment card even though I selected it as the default and it takes a long time for the payment to register, unlike Google pay which takes seconds and is ready to use as soon as I open the app. Please upgrade!

I want to say that this app is great because i use it all the time, but two times now it wont allow me to put in my pin for my card, making the app unusable. I have restarted my phone, restarted the app, deleted, re-installed the app and now I cannot get past the 'get started' screen. For about 6 months I've relied heavily on this app with no problem at all! This bug NEEDS to be fixed, I've been caught in some unfortunate payment predicaments due to the apps failure to operate correctly.

Best mobile payment app by far. You get rewards for things you pay for anyways. They're not much, but Apple Pay and Google Pay don't do it at all. Plus, I can pull it up from the lock screen which is convenient. You can add gift cards and membership cards even if they're not directly linked with Samsung pay. And it's fairly widely used. If a business accepts mobile payments, they accept this every time. Can't say that about the other two.

Rewards points are POINTLESS. I use Samsung pay because it was convenient through my phone but I will switch to google pay, even though they don't have a reward program. You have to have e an insane number of points just to redeem and since I've never reached enough points (because they expire), I decided to try and use them to win a prize. However, the spin the reel game always lands on the exact same no win spot. Seems like a scam. Nevertheless, I would rather not be played for a fool.

The app doesn't work sometimes. I got a new Note 11. I added cards and confirmed with my bank they were active. However NFC never turned on at several merchants POS. After a few rebooting and with no other changes it seems to be working. This needs to be fixed. I have not seen this issue with Google pay or Apple pay.

This payment method has to use my eyes to open the card payment option. There have been several times where I left my wallet in the car or at home, but because I had my phone, all I had to do was swipe up from the bottom of my phone, take off my glasses to let the iris scanner read my eyes and once my phone begins to vibrate I just hold my phone over where I normally swipe my card to make a purchase and that's it. I put my phone away, enter my pin and my purchases are mine forever.

Makes it easy to pay if you forget your card at home or even in the car! :)

It's great to use when I've forgotten my wallet, and starving. Haven't had any issues with it.

I really love Samsung Pay. It actually keeps me tied to Samsung phones. I would have bought something besides the Galaxy Note 10+ if it wasn't for the Samsung Pay feature. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that they redesigned the app a while back and it's harder to see what I can redeem points for. Used to be more intuitive. Now it seems more geared towards trying to get me to buy stuff.

Samsung pay is amazing. It is the best mobile pay I have used and safe to use. It is taken everywhere I have shopped, even when they said they do not except mobile pay. And on top of this, they give you points to cash out for gifts like discounts or gift cards. I strongly recommend for everyone to use it!

Fingerprint scanner stopped working for this app. Keeps saying no match. My fingerprint scanner works for all of my other apps.

Works in 99% of the places that except cards. Needs to improve to 100%

Works okay. Sometimes freezes with typing in the PIN when standing in front of cashier trying to pay..

Used to love the app. For a little over a week, my Samsung Pay does not work and my Samsung Points aren't redeemable or accessible. When I try to pay, my cards get declined, even when I have the money! When I click on "redeem points", the app stays loading until it times out and app crashes. Seems to me like Samsung is pulling a "push" to upgrade, like Apple did. Ever since the last updates my S8+ has been acting up even when it has no previous water or physical damage.

Works okay, but points expire so you can't really ever save up enough points to buy something you want. Anything worth getting is really high in points and I use the app a lot! However it's all a waste or gimmick because points expire. Grrrr! Thinking I am going to switch to Google Pay and see how it works.

Doesn't work. Configured my card, but the Pay button is greyed out and won't let me press it. Unable to use at all. Edit: They don't tell you at setup, but you need to manually set as default payment app on your Samsung phone (Google Pay apparently was default on my new S10 phone which blocks this app). Now it sometimes works, sometimes the terminal seems to accept payment but flashes "invalid pin" (no pin prompt) and cancels the transaction. Just one headache after another. Do not recommend.

I never really used phone payment apps before but damn I was impressed by how convenient this is. Itll be nice to know if I have forgotten my wallet at home that I have some kind of back up. Only thing I'd want is for my fingerprint to also allow me to use my card. Instead of the pin or iris scanner

It works well at most terminals, even those without tap! Not sure how it works but it's great. Just need more of my credit cards to be accepted on Samsung pay but I think that's an issue with the banks, not with the app.

I can be even lazier now! Awesome. It is a very nice app to have. Saves slot of time.

Fast, reliable, and the only thing that works perfectly, around this town.

Love it! This works great & i can use it at 98% of the places around me except gas pumps. I was even able to pay for groceries & get cash back at the self checkout; all without having to use my debt card. All flagship Android phones should have the ability to pay not just with NFC but with the magnetic "pulse" that Samsung pay uses. I'd be willing to pay more just to have that feature.

Samsung Pay is by far a more reliable and secure mobile payment application than Apple or G-Pay(so sorry, Google). What's more, it is accepted by more financial institutions(here in the U.S.A) and appears to be less buggy than the aforementioned payments applications. Finally, now we can use our points earned towards Galaxy Store purchases, i.e.,.themes, wallpapers, games, and more....HOW COOL IS THAT!?

totally forgot my debit card at home while out trying to get food luckily and fortunately I had set up Samsung pay a few weeks ago and came in handy. [Sept. 5th 2019 update ] I've been using samsung pay for a few months now and I absolutely love it. Its changed the way I live and has come in handy in some emergency "oops I left my wallet at home" moments. I've yet to find a place that doesn't or cant accept it. Blows my mind that samsung isnt promoting this feature more than what they are.

I had no problems with my old Samsung S7, but my new S10 won't load the app. I have tried multiple times to setup & configure Samsung Pay on my new S10, but every time I launch the app I select "Get Started" & then I wait endlessly for something to happen with a spinning activity indicator on the screen (nothing else happens so I haven't been able to progress beyond the intro screen). Also, I tried uninstalling & reinstalling but no improvement. IT APPEARS TO BE A SAMSUNG ACCOUNT LOGIN ISSUE.

These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

Allows the app to perform actions across different users on the device. Malicious apps may use this to violate the protection between users.
