Previously available only on BlackBerry 10 where it exceeds a quarter million monthly uses, I'm excited to introduce an Android version. Fast, free, unlimited feeds, no disruptive ads, and no sign-up.

RSS Savvy can monitor your feeds and notify you when articles come up that you care about, whether it’s mentions of your favorite sports team, your home town, or even something you want to buy on Kijiji.

Other features include:
- Organize your feeds across any number of configurable tabs to group information in a way that makes sense to you.
- "Reader Mode" strips adverts and pop-ups, and makes easy reading.
- Choose from our extensive live Catalog of feeds.
- One light and three dark themes to choose from.
- Save your favorite articles for reading later.
- Mark-read support, unread counts, mark-tab-read.
- Pull to refresh your feeds, swipe to delete articles from your timeline.
- Set-up polling from home so you can read your feeds when you are offline.
- Full article viewing in app - no more hopping in and out of the browser as with other apps.
- On phones, expand items in place to reveal more. On tablets, use a 2 pane layout.
- Add feeds directly from the browser. (Share the page to RSS Savvy and we'll scan it for feeds for you.)
- Or, perhaps you'll be happy with the default set of subscriptions that cover World News, Sport, Technology, Entertainment, Business and more...
- Search bar filters feeds and searches your articles as fast as you can type.
- Easily share your favorite articles on Facebook, Twitter, Email, and others.
- Import OPML from Feedly, Google Reader etc.
- If you use RSS Savvy or FeedMinder for BlackBerry, you can import those subscriptions too.

Google Play Reviews

  1. Lisa N-avatar

Ooo! I think I've finally found a reader I like. I've been using this for a day and already know 😂 The only issue I've seen so far is that when I'm in Dark mode, when you open a full article, it goes into a white screen. Blinding for those of us with bad eyes. If we could set it to open in Reader mode (which is dark) that would be super. Feedback: Pressing the back button on my phone minimizes the app. It's so very annoying. Other than that, so far I'm very happy with this reader.

  2. Papa Papa-avatar

Yay. Simple. Just need more caching full articles for offline.

  3. Rui Rojo-avatar

Even though I mark feeds as read, they often reappear as unread. I'm not sure what's going on.

  4. Dan Freed-avatar

This is it, a great news app / RSS reader without unnecessary registration. Clear and easy to use I already given 5 stars and can't do more but I am so impressed by this developer. I reported a bug and 5 hour later an update with fix was out. See, this is why I rarely give 5 stars reviews, there is always a chance to like something even more.

  5. John Walker-avatar

Currently my favorite. Nice and fast, even with lots of feeds. Would like drag 'n' drop to sort/move groups and feeds, and a way to edit feeds' URLs. And please add an "exclude" filter. Else, pretty darned awesome!

  6. Joseph Barbera-avatar

A concise and effecient place to catch up on the news, without being overwhelmed. If it would have the ability to add custom feed url, it would be amazing.

  7. Pho Dro-avatar

Convenient app, with source categories and easy to navigate timeline. No ads, no distractions.

  8. Muster Mustername-avatar

    Muster Mustername

It works very fine and has a simple design.

  9. Galen Thurber-avatar

Super , would be better if it included a fact checker

  10. Erik Wolf-avatar

Good app, nice layout, easy to use

  11. Elizabeth Thompson-avatar

images in free do not show

  12. Zenon Nowak-avatar

After update to 1.8.0 notifications don't work anymore. Edit: Quickly fixed by the developer. Thanks.

I'm Expert. Please consider my comment to improve this app. 1. Add option of refreshing the list faster than the current 5 minutes fastest option. The user should be able to choose it in 1 minute or even 5 seconds updating the news. 2. Add option of filtering notified items by AND command to be able to filter news if there are both x and y term in title of news. 3. Add ability to search the Twitter hashtags. This is very important for those who need to be updated as soon as a hashtag is used.

  14. Joe McDaniel-avatar

Feedly quit working for me, so I tried a bunch of other readers and this one works for me. Folders are a 'must,' I find. Managing feeds is excellent. I am not completely happy with navigation and viewing but can live with it. I turned off embedded pictures as being just glitz and taking up too much room. Single pane would have been better if it included the precis. I wish I could hide read articles, too.

  15. Mark Hudson-avatar

Very good RSS reader. Only features I would like to see is the option to have full stories open to internal browser when tapping an item, instead of opening a menu where you have to click to see full story. Also a way to re-order feeds under a tab. Other than those minor inconveniences this seems to be a near perfect RSS Reader. I appreciate the lack of ads. Thank you devs for your hard work on this project.

  16. NYCeyes-avatar

Very good app but needs a UI and UX update. I'll check back to see if it has been redone. For now, I'm using another app.

  17. Quadruple Beatsz-avatar

    Quadruple Beatsz

I REALLY Loved it! its easy to use, and lite, and fast! ##my ideas for improvement : •Widgets •save images •custom rss icon •magazine tile •share rss including image and short stories, instead of just links. •hide/unhide readed rss #bugs : •when scrolling back to the top, the images keep reloading.

  18. A Google user-avatar

1st one i found that is legit free no ads. barely started using but so far easy 2 use, can add your own feeds and organize them how you wish, and as far as i can tell there is no limit to how many feeds you can add. Pending anything changing i give 5 stars, keep up the good work.

  19. A Google user-avatar

The best written app ever. One of the essential apps on my phone. Gets all the news I want from the sources I want without ads. Also feeds specific chosen words articles so that I get the relevant news. If only all apps or OS could be written like that...

  20. Nneka Omeke-avatar

Sometimes it doesnt notify me till several hours later even though I have it set to polling every 5 mins. I would rather not miss a feed and have it drain my battery yet I see no difference if I have it polling every hour from or every 5 mins.

  21. A Google user-avatar

Inferior only to BlackBerry 10's FeedMinder. But the FeedMinder came from the same author, that's how I found this reader on Google Play RSS readers galore in the first place. I miss the feature to open the articles directly in reader mode.

  22. Red Barn-avatar

absolutely fabulous. allows you to choose the news feeds you want without all the garbage. fantastic for local news and weather warnings if you don't want a buch of apps.

  23. Cleopatra Philopator-avatar

    Cleopatra Philopator

my favourite app. had it on my bb and was so happy that i can still enjoy it on my android os device. love that i can search and add my own list of rss and even create categories that are important to me, such as health.

  24. Joshua von den Hoff-avatar

    Joshua von den Hoff

Best RSS App for me. Good Interface, enough options for customization, no ads.

  25. hikhmal mohamad-avatar

    hikhmal mohamad

There's no login feature, so you need to traditionally export and import when say switching to a new phone or reinstalling the app. Otherwise one of the best apps for this kind of thing.

  26. Ales Mrkela-avatar

Very efficient and customizable. Simple and fast

  27. Margarita Santa Cruz-avatar

    Margarita Santa Cruz

I've been using this app for years. Every phone I get, this is one of the first apps I put on it. It's easy to use, organize and stay up to date with your favorite sites in one place.

  28. A Google user-avatar

BBC News headline graphics/images are not displaying. It just shows a BBC News logo for all BBC News articles. Also, there needs to be a Grid style view showing 3 or more articles per row.

  29. Rick poplett-avatar

Ahhhhhhh... a little bit of BB10 in a world of same old, same old. Please do a Feed minder version of this . God I miss my Z30.

  30. Patrick Sierak-avatar

Thank you for this app. Its no nonsense just the news, features, and settings you need. Perfect.

  31. A Google user-avatar

Great app. I got hooked on the BlackBerry 10 version and had to have it when I migrated to BlackDroid.

  32. L NL-avatar

Well designed and good selection choices of CSS feeds that come with it.

  33. Andy Kirk-avatar

Excellent App, just needs a widget. Cannot find a fault with it.

  34. Ed Logan-avatar

Definitely needs U.I. update. Otherwise, very good. Will check back occasionally to see if its been updated. For now, will go with a different app.

  35. SoundOfLife RSC-avatar

    SoundOfLife RSC

Works like a charm, intuitive, no bs! Thank you!

  36. _ Tasmo-avatar

The interface could be simpler. Miss an OLED friendly black theme.

  37. Narcisse Morningstar-avatar

    Narcisse Morningstar

This app is terrible. It keeps crashing no matter what I try to do with it. It's useless.

  38. A Google user-avatar

Good solid app, loved it on bb10, love it on shamdroid.

  39. Gabriel's Blackberry-avatar

    Gabriel's Blackberry

Awesome interface. Useful shortcuts. Just a great app.

  40. Domen Kastner-avatar

there is bunch of rss apps in the play store but none of them didn't work with one of my subscription rss feed. RSS Savvy is getting them all! Thanks ☺

    Good. Needs a widget.

  53. Sonja Valenta-avatar

    Best rss app I've found

  54. Jake Hardy-avatar

    best app for rss

  55. samir ajgaonkar-avatar

    samir ajgaonkar

App is quite impressive. But images do not get downloaded in off-line (polling) mode (only text gets downloaded). This needs to fix and it will be more better if option of 'full article downoad' (in addition to pocket) is added in polling settings.

  56. Simon Spatial-avatar

A good app that allows me to keep up to date with articles from my favourite sites. Great features as well. Easy to use

  57. Trevor Frantz-avatar

    No widget.

  58. Jimmy James-avatar

Author has recently updated this awesome app (thankyou, Andrew!). Very fast feed updates, practical layout, XML import and export, clean nice looking ui with several themes including Dark and Black. By far the best feed reader I've used for standalone feed databases on any OS but suits mobile perfectly.

  59. A Google user-avatar

RSS Savvy is the best way I've found to navigate the content farm that online news has become. This app, with feeds of my favorite sources, gives me quick access to 2000 articles in an easily searchable database. It also lets me quickly email articles or tweet them to several accounts in rapid succession. News outlets hate RSS but it's still the best way to consume news. RSS Savvy is my go-to news source. The only thing it lacks: a widget to put headlines on my phone's home page.

  60. A Google user-avatar

Finally: a decent RSS reader that just displays my feeds without making me sign up to something, presents them appealingly and doesn't force me to open the full article in a separate reader/browser. // As others have said, it could do with a scheduler to auto-delete unsaved items after a set period. // The icing on the cake would be a widget (with optional transparency and user-selected font colour).

  61. A Google user-avatar

This is a nice RSS app, one that I keep coming back to, but I think it could be improved. Things I like: + Excellent GUI / animations / feed icons. + Arranging of tabs. + Importing / exporting of feeds. + Search function. + Options for polling frequency, text size, sharing. Things I would like to see: - An option for swipe to mark article read. - A way to quickly toggle the displaying of read articles. (show / hide). This is more useful than deleting articles. - Read articles text should be grayed out, not just the title. - Taping to expand article is nice, please add tap on article text to close. Makes it quicker than hitting the close arrow. - An option to auto clean / remove articles after a period of time. (days / weeks / months). - An option to open "Full Story" in reader mode by default, instead of full webview. This usually gives you the full story in a cleaner look and without ads! - An option to display timeline pictures smaller and on the right or left margin next to the text. - A way to drag individual feeds in the order you want. Thanks for reading.

  62. A Google user-avatar

After testing at least 10 other similar apps, this one comes closest to what one could need for organizing / reading rss feeds. If only we could choose our notification sounds or vibration for new feeds... !!!

  63. Altaf Sheriff-avatar

Works smoothly on my BlackBerry Priv. Gets me my headlines in a timely manner. HOWEVER It's one thing to have ads that are embedded or that need to be closed and totally another to have frequent Angry Birds pops up that cannot be closed without exiting the article and starting all over again.

  64. Fabio Vilan-avatar

The best RSS reader I've found for android so far... Many options that other readers don't have (groups, efficient parsing, customizable notifications and many others) with a simple and clean interface.

  65. Mongrel Shark-avatar

Limited functionality. Adding feeds is painful and requires a browser and a lot of copy past or share. No feed shows all feeds, can only view catagorys.

  66. A Google user-avatar

Love using this app. Wish it had more rss feeds to choose from but at least I can search and add a specific one. Also wish I could specifically open each article in reader first rather than browser. Otherwise this is my go to for news. Thank you! Blackberry Keyone

  67. Kritos Erotokritou-avatar

    Kritos Erotokritou

Was looking for a feed app like Newsflow that I had on my windows phone. This is the only one I found with the same functionality that does not require me to register or login. Very clean and easy to use. Good job people!

  68. M O'c-avatar

Seems promising but when you search keywords to populate potential rss feeds it immediately runs back to you that it couldnt find anything. In that sort of quick turnaround i suspect it actually didnt search. On to the next app trial (hint: they all suck)

  69. Arnon Shp-avatar

Good app, but recently notifications stopped appearing from this app only... Please fix and make this app great again.

  70. A Google user-avatar

I like the fact you can add custom feeds instead of picking from a list.

  71. Alireza S-avatar

Good app but why does it ask for storage and call info and identity permissions?

  72. Very Bumpy-avatar

Love how it gives lots of articles compressed on one screen.

  73. FreeBird-avatar

Best RSS news reading app I've come across. Well made.

  74. simon williams-avatar

Found this app while on BB10, great app, love the choice and content.. Excellent 👍👍

It's a shame that the developer forces you to keep a meta feed of the app's updates. It's locked and you can't delete it. This is the closest I could find to a sane / traditional RSS reader, and I'm uninstalling it over this. I would easily rate this app 5 stars if I wasn't forced to have unwanted content on my feed. EDIT: Changed to 5 stars because of the 1.7.3 update from the developer. Thanks Andrew!

  83. Who Conquers-avatar

Slick enough interace. Kudos on a theme with a dark background (always a fan). BUT... the frustrating part that has me still hunting for alternative RSS apps? (1) No way to select multiple items for deletion, and (2) no way to manage when old items are removed from feeds (a date/age criteria and a max items in queue ceiling/threshold would be nice).

  84. Robin Contreras-avatar

    Robin Contreras

This is my favorite rss app. I've used others, but always come back to this one.

  85. W R-avatar

Excellent app. I would just suggest a better search option because many rss are not found unless you enter it manually. This is the biggest drawback of this app.

  86. Vipin Vijayan-avatar

Great app with a good interface and most importantly, the ability to view categories/tagged feeds together. Would be better if automatic feed refresh can be turned off, even with wifi on.

  87. A Google user-avatar

5 stars when u remove rss savvy update feed. Its worthless

  88. A Google user-avatar

RSS Savvy is one if those "bread, milk, butter" apps. It's intuitive and easy to use. Easy to add feeds. I've never had any issues at all. It's one of the first 5 apps I download onto my new phones.

  89. Scrudrv-avatar

I use it every day. Works fine if you are out of the "grid". So far my favourite RSS reader.

  90. David Stoneman-avatar

Clean simple interface, and find rss feeds from just the home page link - excellent

  91. Salim Patel-avatar

The app is super comfy, never crashes, display pattern is simpl, easy to read and navigate, all in all superb

  92. A Google user-avatar

Head and shoulders above all other readers.

    This is what I want

  97. James Tan-avatar

Looks ok. Many good features. BUT, no option to auto-clean read/unread articles after a set number of days, this could eat up so much space eventually. Would be nice if we can swipe on the article to move to next or previous article. Would be nice if this could be a one-handed app, I can only work this using both hands. Seems like it is still stuck in Blackberry days, too bad since it already leveled up by moving to Android. Overall, it's ok, but it is not yet good enough to be my daily reader.

  98. Benjamin Close-avatar

Reads feeds and displays them well. After greader pro stopped working this little app is an awesome alternative. With the developer listening to feedback and not only fixing bugs but also features, I can highly recommend this little app.

  99. Pete Bradley-avatar

UPDATE: Talk about an awesome dev. I was literally the only person who reported a problem with the last update and he emailed in less than an hour and eventually solved the problem. 5 stars EASY After latest update several feeds no longer work BUT work on my other samsung.
