RockCheck application is identification key for rocks. It is a teaching aid that can be used to contribute to the teaching of geological contents within natural science subjects in the formal school system. RockCheck application can also be used by all interested social organizations in non-formal education and other enthusiasts of geology. The content is based on the standard classifications of rocks and adapted to the needs of general public. The application RockCheck consists of three main chapters: Rock key, Encyclopedia and School of Rock. In Rock key, with answering the questions YES/NO, you define the name of a selected rock. When answering the questions, you can help yourself with links which are coloured in orange and provide additional explanations of geological concepts and procedures in School of Rock. The right answers bring you to the Encyclopedia where you can learn more about rocks in general, about their appearance, formation and their usage. Application was made in PKP student project titled Stonekey, co-financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport RS and EU from EU Social fund. Translation and further development were made as a part of EU project RM@SCHOOL financed by European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT).

I found the app to be informative. I do think there could be more pictures. As in, if I go through the questionnaire and it tells me what it believes is my rock, it should have a few pictures of those rocks, not just 1. The biggest issue for me is the spelling and grammar problems. If you would like, I can shoot you an email of all the mistakes I found. Ill be your proof reader. If not, no big deal. Rock on!

The app was lacking in rocks. it didn't have quartz on file. other than that it is a fun app. it is educational, which is cool. all i can recommend to make the app better is to add more rocks to the files, have a picture identifier type thing and have a night mode. either way i still like the app, it's cool

This App helps me understand about different kind of rocks, also helps me learn in of information to go to college and take that information to build up my interests. I really love this app, there could've been more pictures of the definition of the Rocks.😁😁😁

Was hoping to enter known mineral constituents and search possible igneous rock types whether extrusive or intrusive. Pitched too low unfortunately.

Wonderful encyclopedia, but a photo search would help a lot with identification.
Hello Friend
I would really like it if you would add a thing where you take a picture and show what rock it is.😐😐

I answered questions for a crystal and it came out to be obsidian, for any type of glassy rock it comes out to be obsidian, not a good tool for learning

Super nice app, but needs more rock types.

There are many rocks and some of them are not mentioned here this is very limited
Trevor
Very few outcomes for the rock type and not descriptive enough for me to classify my rock.
