This is really good for sync, dump and forget. But as far as management capabilities on a mobile device (phones and tablets) this app is horrible. It is simply poorly designed for managing the data that is placed in it. I hope you guys are actually working on this issue, because I am certainly not alone in this issue.


It really really needed to add a button to REFRESH the content. For example, i am connected with laptop and phone and tv, when I delete a file on laptop, it shows the old data on the phone!!! It is not possible to refresh and update the content on the storage. Please add it then i will give you 5 star. It shouldn't be so difficult;-) i am a developer


I have been using this app for 8 months Pros: 1.Can successfully connect and sync devices. 2. Can browse the database Cons: 1.Cannot save images from database. 2. Slow download speeds, even when on 150 mbps wifi. 3. Video streams via android cellphone seem non existent. Buffer is the only thing you get.


This app is really just pathetic. It has taken 3 weeks to backup 1,000 images on my phone because it really only works while you are watching it. It may upload 5 or 6 in the background.


Seagate stopped supporting their app (really old) and this one allows me to access my drive from anywhere and backup my media. Aside from that it seems like this app has a long way to go to just match desktop functions like creating folders, uploading, or moving files. Fortunatly you can do those things from the Android web browser and bookmark it like an app. I do love having my media backed up so this app stays for that. Seagate had let me stream my music while ReadyCLOUD does not.


this app doesnt work. it can not find any of my shares when logged in to my account even though the web browser version has no trouble finding them. Just another half baked good idea from netgear... so much potential, but so much disappointment.


For the last year and a half I have not been able to access my ReadyNAS because of log-in errors. I know my credentials which I set ths admin pages. Running firmware 6.10.2. Could use some serious help to regain access.


what kind of app is this my buffalo terastation worked so much better. I can't stream videos I upload on my phone. I have to upload them then if I want to see it I have to download them. pics and music I can stream but not videos and also when I take a picture on my note 9 and I have it on my nas I try to reopen it and it opens it in landscape instead of the way I save it. this might get returned if problem doesn't get fixed. App needs alot if work. I hope they discounte this app. It really sucks


Shame on you Netgear. this App doesnt work! query error when trying to access any folders. It will happly dump the files from your phone it picks onto the drive in the root directory. but you cant access files in folders! APP Sucks. Programers obviously dont understand the users needs.

Took a lot to make it work, now i can finally see the files on my hard drive but i cant download them. Such a shame they disabled the Genie app since it worked fine there.


Sure is very good the app. But can you add download more than one file. And add save it to sdcard or better chose where to save instead of in tmp folder. Overal is a good app.


There is a bug in this version. Not all the files and folders show up. Only 10 folders show up. The rest of the folders are not accessible as they don't show up.


One of the best ideas but most unstable apps I've used in a while. It doesn't crash but constantly fails to load content, the website interface works just fine. The app just keeps throwing loads of Java errors when folder opens and doesn't load anything in it. Same on WiFi and mobile data. "OnError while emitting onNext value: Java. Lang object: class"


This app could be so much better. It needs to support opening/saving files to/from USB - E.G. tapping a Word doc should open it in Word on the android phone, allow you to edit it, and save it back to the USB (like Dropbox). It should also be much easier to upload files, with a circular + icon in the bottom right corner (also like Dropbox). Streaming music from USB to phone while outside home should be supported. Also, this app slows/times out when accessing folders containing lots of files.


Terrible service from ReadyCloud and Netgear. I will look for a different cloud service to use.


Waste of space. It occasionally connects in the house, but has never connected away from the house, which is when it is needed. Recognises my ReadyNAS, says "connecting" for a few seconds then just says "disconnected" and that's it.


This app is practically worthless. the only thing it does is connect to your NAS and sync your pictures folder. There are no management capabilities, you can't pick the folder it syncs from, and you can't selectively copy files to the NAS.


very buggy app, with very poor software design and engineering. Literally, a piece of junk! it was a huge mistake to go with this high-priced Netgear gaming router. I thought it would be high quality and a really good device. Wrong! Next time I'm going with Linksys.


useless app. let's you see the drive and folders, and that's it. unable to load any content up without error


This is the worst piece of garbage ever written. It's very difficult to find a file after a download. Uploading is virtually impossible: only media and "libraries". Sadly there is no other way to access your storage drive from outside your network. Netgear's tech support is nonexistent.


App works great first time you use it. Then it will not refresh when you go back and try and use it. You have to uninstall and reinstall app for it to work again. Real pain in the #@@.


File reading doesn't work. Only suitable for upload


Do not download this app until they release a stable version that actually works. I reverted back to version 1 and it still works correctly. Evidently they don't pay attention to the reviews or it would be fixed by now. The 1 star reviews outnumber the 5 star reviews 2 to 1.


I purchased my router specifically to use readycloud... I was able to get it to work briefly years ago. decided to troubleshoot and try again recently and still can't access my storage. great idea, poor execution.


This app should be great but, unfortunately it's not. I can't download nothing and SAVE it on my phone!! also, I upload a file with photos and most of them are crashed!!! please make this app useful, we NEED it.


Getting a Onerror while emitting onNext value on my Android when trying to reconfigure the backup folder. Backed up 200 files today and cannot see them on the drive. Utterly useless now. Bad products.


i had to figure out that Deleting and Recreating my cloud access to the device cured the "OnError while emitting..." long standing problem. support for this product is virtually non-existant. but it works finally...

Worked great until a couple months. Now it will not connect to our hard drive connected to R8000 router.

Very poor connection. App is connected but not showing folders. It is refreshing for a very long time.


Inconsistent. Access works then doesn't - states offline. Needed to re-initiate router on network. Worked for a day, then app states offline once again.


doesn't work. can't see my file shares. I have tried multiple USB devices and no success. What's the point of the app if it's main purpose is a fail.

Sorry for my previous review. I've solved the issue with updating my accounts as well local as ReadyCloud and relinking my NAS.


new update errors stop you from logging in. if you stop the app & clear cache. then you can log back in and it seems to work but im still missing a folder...


"Upload Failed" failed to connect. App no longer works like it used to.


I agree with all the users who gave this app a rating of 1. Netgear really sucks it up with this app. My experience was terrible too.

I've had this app since purchasing my readynas. I hoped it would allow me to auto backup to my Nas rather than Google drive or one drive. ##UPDATE## since the latest app update in March-19 my phone is now auto abcking up to my nas box. It would be good not to have to use a separate FTP client to upload files from my phone/tablet to the NAS, but this is a small sacrifice for the time being.

Not working any more. USB 3 drive displays folder but opening it yields "OnError while emitting onNext value: [Ljava.lang.Object;.class Update 1/9/2019: This issue still persists with version 2 0.1 .RC3 which is the newest version and supposedly fix the USB connection to storage devices issues, but it does not.


I can log into the NAS and shows online, lists all my shares but I can't access any folder? Update 13/10/2018 App just says now shares on this device.


I have been using Ready cloud for 2 years. 1. Many connection issues. App shows no available drive, app can't connect to drive. 2. You must access the drive through an app, even on a laptop. So instead of "save as" and picking this drive I have to save the file to my PC then upload it through the app. 3. The mobile app will only allow you to download a file, not a folder. I have to download each song on a album instead of just downloading the album.


Offline completely as of March 31,2017. Unable to access my drives at all from app or web. Many clients in the same situation as per online search. Complete let down. Not impressed. Accessing my files by connecting drives via sata to another computer directly. NAS is now useless and netgear hasn't reached out in any way to explain or comment on the situation. 😤


Utterly broken. does not work. after finally setting it up , which took an age. clicking on pictures to share from your gallery via this app. you are presented with a screen of no devices. Its a real shame because netgears hardware is very solid, but there software and apps are what leaves them far behind QNAP AND SYNOLOGY . they should really hire some better software devs for there nas products


I have been trying now for a long time to get some thing useful out of this app but in vain. It simply does not show any option to connect to a remote device. I have tested all available options but i was not successful to access my usb media remotely. This is a very common problem faced by many but neatgear is not considering to address this issue.


Big corporation like Netgear and this app is trash.. the equipment/signal is fine.. but when Netgear offers a service that does not work makes me want to never buy stuff from them.. if they only had a team assigned to improve this app, I will be a happy customer.. Hope Netgear steps up their game..


This app seems to take several goes to connect but after getting it going, seems to work fairly well and find it improves with each update. Find it doesn't recognise many sound formats (flac for instance) so if I want to stream my music to my phone it tends to download them instead which is a nuisance. Why doesn't it understand all music formats my phone does?


In contradiction to what is written down in some reviews, this app does let you upload files. It is under the share function. It does exactly what it is supposed to do, with an option to do an automated media backup per household device in a dedicated folder. Very cool personal cloud service.


This build is always on and add's itself into the system startup as a result will impact your data utilisation and cpu which totally destroyed my battery usage.. Ive since killed the auto startup and only run this when I need it.. Might want to consider changing how this app behaves in the background


Will no no longer connect and won't even allow me to upgrade to the new netgear account! Fix this garbage! I didn't pay top dollar for a router that can't even do basic things like connecting to my hard drive!


Huge disappointment. I have an X10 and an X4 router in different locations. Can only view files on the local network. ReadyCloud doesn't work and neither does this horrendous app. Look at the reviews Netgear. How can you let people bash your product all over the internet and do nothing to fix!? Last time I buy Netgear products.


The reason I put 2 stars is, this app can be frustrating to use. Constant issues with trying to access device remotely. Missing features include: - Ability to create a folder share link to easily share contents of the folder - ability to quickly download all contents of a folder with a simple tap, currently requires user to individually download - for some reason I was able to access my device though the app today, but was unable to visit via the readycloud website, but was able to access via the app to show some photos, however due to being unable to easily share the photos folder as a link, was forced to show through phone which took ages to load each photo. - another feature request would be to long press folders, and give reasonable options to manage the folders Thank you.


(((NETGEAR TEAM - PLEASE ADD ENCRYPTION!))) This app works well, but make sure the hard drive attached to the router has auxiliary USB power. The netgear Nighthawk does NOT provide enough power to run a 2.5" drive on its own. Without extra power you'll notice this app does not connect or sync properly. The same goes for Netgear ReadyShare Vault desktop app. This can be solved by connecting a USB Y cable to the hard drive, with one branch connected to a USB AC adapter, and the other connected to the router.


Does not backup automatically. Fails even when I attempt to do it manually. Used to work well until sometime early 2017. I see the past update was 11/2016 - almost a year ago! Come on and fix this!!!


When this app works, it's great, but every time I really need it, it fails to connect. The ability to sync files to the phone is great but has the habit of deleting them, again usually as I go to use the synced file while off line. The sad part is that there is a third party app on the NAS that does this that actually works. I've tried going through faqs but they only work short term and certainly not when you are out and about, the entire reason for the app. Disappointed...


I have been using Readynas hardware for over 10 years now. This app works great sometimes and other times it will not connect. Not sure why and not able to trouble shoot. Even on the same LAN it has trouble. When it works it works very nice. I get about 65% of the time it works.


Firstly it doesn't connect. Secondly it give me "Unfortunately Ready cloud has stopped working" great app (not). You would think they would test these apps before making then available to the public. Waste of time.


One of the worst on the cloud management tools: it does not offer the possibility of choosing multiple files to download, after each download it refreshes the page, forcing the user to scroll back, there is no possibility of searching the files on the drive. Poor implementation of it is supposed to be an useful tool, offered to complement the acquisition of a HDD.


So far so good, didn't register properly first time but all ok now with my nighthawk router. Has backed up fone albums pretty fast. Working well Shame app doesn't have an upload feature, but desktop version does so not all bad.


Slow to connect to our nas when on internet and lot of time it's wouldn't load the nas data. Terrible app that need fixing. I resort of using web browser on my phone than using this app. Sad


App works well for what it is , however as I can download a document using this to make some last minute changes it would be really useful if I could upload it too , come on guys get up to date with the competition nobody uses download only now , even Tonido the free pc cloud software lets you upload and download using their free app as you want , catch up guys or your gonna be left behind like the Windows phone.


Very slow to connect/view files. It recognizes the router quickly, but not the connected drive...at least not readily. Accessing via Chrome has been much more reliable.


Was unable to connect to my ReadyNAS from my app or the Web, and all uploading quit on March 29. After uninstalling the app, restarting my phone, checking my network connection, and powering down my device. Went online and tried to Discover my device (unsuccessful) then I noticed in the upper right hand corner the ability to search for the device by its serial number. My device was found and needed a firmware update. Once that was complete I was able to Manage my device. Under the Cloud tab I found ReadyCLOUD (allows app access) needed to be switched back on. I can now once again access my files from the app. Hopefully this discovery will help others that have been offline since the end of March.


So far it's done everything I've wanted it to do. I've read reviews that say it won't upload but it's accomplished every upload I've tried rather handily....:-)
