Each base edge and the apex forms a triangle. In the case of the ancient Egyptian pyramids, those are masonry structures dating as far back as 2611 BC. The famous pyramids are found at Giza, and the largest of them is the Pyramid of Khufu. The Egyptian pyramids were developed after the architect Imhotep devised a way to stack ‘mastabas’ or burial grounds on top of each other, made out of steps that reduced in size the higher it went.
