But, when we begin on the first page of the Bible, even before creation begins, we see a representation of the spirit of God hovering over the dark and messy waters of the earth, ready to begin to pour out goodness and creation. In the Bible, whenever we see a description of the spirit of God, like what is described in the first verses of the Bible, the Hebrew word “ruakh” is used. Ruakh can describe unseen and powerful energy, and is necessary for life, making “Spirit” an appropriate description of the Spirit of God. Of course, the religious leaders of the time saw these actions as a threat and they had Jesus killed. Yet the spirit of God is at work. When the disciples saw that Jesus had risen from the grave, they proclaimed that he was shining with the spirit of God. When Jesus appeared to his closest disciples, he breathed the Holy Spirit into them, also empowering them to spread the goodness of God throughout the world. Soon after, the spirit of God invaded all of his disciples. Today, through Christ and the power He gave to His disciples, the Spirit of God continues to hover over a dark and chaotic world, slowly healing it and working toward the day when it will be restored to its old. glory. If taken seriously your life will never be the same and you will become a blessing to your surroundings and over time you will become a vessel through which the sky empties into the earth.
